The best part of any wedding day is celebrating with all your loved ones such as close family and friends, but you can’t forget about one VIP… your furry best friend!  Incorporating your beloved pet into your wedding celebration can be one of the most exciting and crowd-pleasing ideas, but making these ideas come to life can be tricky.  If you are looking for cute and safe ways to include your pet at your wedding, this post will explore several adorable ideas for your furry friend.

One cute idea to include your pet is for it to serve as the ring bearer or “flower dog”.  Nothing would be cuter or more special than having the pet that’s been through everything with you, bring your rings down the aisle on one of the biggest days of your life. If you are thinking about using this fun idea for your pet, make sure he or she is well trained in order to avoid chaos at the ceremony.

If you are having a small wedding, you can even make your cat or dog the “best dog” or “cat of honor.” This is a great way to show that the pet that has been by your side throughout your single life, will now be by your side through married life. This idea will warm the hearts of everyone at the wedding and will create a memory with your pet that you will have for the rest of your life.

If incorporating your pet into your actual wedding ceremony seems too hectic or complicated, it is always an adorable idea to include your furry friend in your wedding or engagement photos.  Add a cute bow tie or even a mini veil to your pet’s collar to stick with the theme. The great thing about this idea is that you will have adorable pictures for the rest of your life and while creating more special memories with your pet.

For an adorable pet-themed sweet treat at the wedding reception, rehearsal dinner or engagement party, have an animal themed cake made. Having a cake replica of your furry friend can be a sweet touch to any desert and fun for everyone to look at… and eat!  For a smaller treat, you could even make cookies or cupcakes based on your pet. This will have everyone thinking about the furry member of your family.

You can also incorporate your dog or cat into your wedding celebration without bringing it into the actual ceremony by letting it hang out with you while you get ready.  Pets serve as a great way to calm the nerves and boost happiness, so why not have them there before you take the big leap into married life? Keep in mind that this is a good way to include your pet as long as he or she is calm and controlled so there is no added stress to your big day.

However you choose to bring your pet into your wedding, keep in mind that the safety of your pet and guests at the wedding is crucial, so practice before the actual ceremony.  But more importantly, be creative and have fun with your pet!
