Normally when deciding the attire for your wedding party, you are prone to think more about the wedding dress and the bridesmaid dresses. Don’t forget about the groom and his groomsmen! Deciding on what the color and style and making sure that all of the men get fitted in time can be stressful if you have not put too much thought into it. If that is the case, do not worry! Located below is all of the information you need to make sure the men in your wedding are dressed to impress.

The first thing that you need to consider in planning the attire of the groom and groomsmen is that it takes a few months for the suits to come in. Scheduling an appointment for the fitting of the suits can also affect the timing as you might not be able to pick the appointment date that you wished. Depending on the style of the suit, you may have to do more research and have flexibility to find the exact suit that you want. Start the search early and keep all of your store options open.

Purchase or Rent?

Unless the groom or groomsmen are going to be in multiple weddings back to back, I would recommend just renting the suit. Another thing that you have to consider is that the color of the suits might be different in the weddings that you are a part of. If that is the case, then you would end up spending a lot more money.

Type of Wedding

There are four different options when deciding the right outfit for the groom and groomsmen. You can choose from a suit, tuxedo, tailcoat, or a morning dress. A suit is the most common option, and you are able to choose from a variety of colors and styles and they can be worn at any point in the day. A tuxedo is worn at a more formal wedding that normally occurs at night. A tailcoat is worn to the most formal of weddings and also is most likely to be worn in an evening wedding. The morning dress is worn in formal day time weddings.

Color by Season

If you are having your wedding in the fall/winter, then you should lean more towards darker colors like black, midnight blue, and charcoal grey. If you are having your wedding in the spring/summer, you can always do black but you should consider doing a lighter blue or grey. If you are having your wedding in Georgia during the spring and summer months, your groom and groomsmen will greatly appreciate the cooler suits.

When deciding on a suit, you want to be practical because the men are spending a good amount of money on their attire. If they are able to wear it more than once, that would be extremely beneficial for them, so choose a common color. Finally, remember that this is your special day, so do not stress about all of the small details. Go ahead and start planning early, and it will all work out.
