1- Location, Location, Location.

Neighboring the Athens-Clarke County City Hall and conjoining East Washington and North Jackson Street, the red brick Georgian Hall stands in the heart of downtown Athens. Two blocks from UGA’s North Campus, Georgian Hall offers close proximity to everything the Classic City has to offer. If bridal parties hope to venture to a spa or hair salon downtown, they can do so in a short walk.

2- A Time-Machine for the Classic City

Built in 1908, The Georgian building served as one of the first luxury hotels in Athens. Hotel Georgian was hailed as “The Pride of Athens” and served as the celebratory spot for the elite throughout Athens history. After its various change of owners and uses through the years, the Georgian was spotted by a local restaurateur in 2016 who restored and renovated the historic venue.

The Georgian Hall’s Grand Ballroom reveals original stained glass Palladian windows, white Ionic columns with marble bases, restored mosaic tile floors, and picturesque floor to ceiling walnut doors. With arch windows offering natural light, the Georgian Hall’s luxurious architecture offers an effortlessly classic venue that looks like a scene out of a movie.

Georgian Hall received the Outstanding Restoration award from the Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation in 2016.

3- Size and and Amenities

With three different venue options for the wedding party, Georgian Hall offers services for parties of any size. The Grand Ballroom sits at 2,200 square feet with a seated dinner capacity of 120 and cocktail reception size of 180 guests. If the wedding party wants to enjoy both the Grand Ballroom and the Lounge, they can book the joint package that allows for maximum space and comfort. With the Lounge and Grand Ballroom connecting, events have the option of opening up the grand walnut doors to have a flow of traffic through the two rooms. Sitting at 1,800 square feet, the Lounge can sit 60 guests for dinner and 120 guests for a cocktail reception. The Lounge also offers a corner bar with brass accents accompanied by plush, blue seats and marble tables for a relaxing spot to enjoy locally brewed beers and hand-crafted cocktails.

5- The Getaway Car

Finally, the bride and groom have the option to leave their special day in style. Georgian Hall wraps up its classy event in style by giving the option of a rental 1948 Chevy Fleetline Sedan named “Something Blue.” Say goodbye to friends and family while being whisked away from the reception by a private chauffeur. Nothing says Classic City more than this!
