Located in Bogart, Georgia, the Thompson House is just a few miles away from Athens and the University of Georgia. This historic Victorian farmhouse was built in 1880 by Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, remaining in the Thompson family for over 100 years until it was transformed into a beautiful venue for social events.

Boasting vast flora and elegant natural settings, the Thompson House and Gardens feature gorgeous maintained grounds, soothing water features, sweet fragrances and vibrant colors. Guests can embrace the scenery from the wraparound porch and experience the simpler times of southern Victorian sophistication that the Thompson House offers.

The Thompson House and Gardens transferred ownership to On Guest, a special events planning company providing clients with memorable experiences and beautiful venues. Accommodating up to 200 people, this unique site has breathtaking outdoor locations for the ceremony, while both its grounds and house are reserved for hor d’oeuvres and the reception.

Offering a more customizable lush backdrop and seating of up to 200 guests, the House’s Iron Arbor gives the ceremony a natural, outdoor feel amongst the soaring trees. The columned gazebo offers a more classical style with Greek architecture and seating for up to 150 guests. Lastly, smaller weddings of 125 guests or less may use the Garden’s romantic fountain or rustic Thompson barn shed.

The Thompson House’s Ballroom contains 2,700 square feet of beautiful chandeliers, welcoming creamy backdrops, sweetheart tables, and a roomy dance floor. Opening to the Buffet Room and Courtyard, this area enjoys a wraparound bar, twinkling fairy lights, and a spacious view of the grounds’ floral collections and historic Victorian architecture. The upstairs bridal suite consists of three historic rooms, a private bathroom and two staircases, and the groom’s suite is filled with comfortable couches and space.

There are several options available to guests interested in hosting their special day. Each option strives to fully capture your wedding day vision and make your dreams come true. The Thompson House offers an inclusive flower and decor package, while other vendors and services can be outsourced. The full floral package includes in-house floral designers, while the venue only package gives access to outside florists, flowers and decor. The inclusive On Guest floral package includes ceremony florals, bar arrangements, buffet centerpieces, and various arrangements around the venue. Alcohol is not provided, but licensed bartenders are required- a trusted list can be found upon request.
