Edit the premise. Dr. Henry Morgan is a New York City medical examiner who studies the dead for criminal cases and to solve the mystery of his own immortality. His first death was 200 years ago while trying to treat a slave as a doctor aboard a ship in the African slave trade. One of the ship’s owners orders him to stop, shooting him and throwing him overboard when he fails to comply. Each time he dies, Henry disappears and returns to life naked in a nearby body of water. He has a scar at the site of his original gunshot wound. He doesn’t age. Henry has lived a long time, so he knows a lot and can see things others can’t. I absolutely love your books . I have just binged listening to three of your amazing books over the Christmas period. This book was absolutely wonderful and I loved the characters and the beautiful romantic story. The narrators were fantastic and this made the book even more enjoyable. Thank-you so much for sharing this delightful book. I loved it!
Looking forward to this one as much as I did the The Big Fat Fake …. I’ve already listened to Accidentally Married. Winners one after the other. And there are more!!! I usually prefer to read from the written page. But, then I don’t get anything done. Now, I can cook and clean while ‘reading’. Thank you for your awesome talent, and great story ideas.
I love this book. I love how strong Penny is she won’t let Harrison evil stepmom scare her off. But I would love to know what William is hiding? I just feel like the reason why he stood Penny up at the altar is because he is hiding a big secret. Plus that would explain why they never met in person before.
Being the typical kind of man I love man stuff, blood, guts, bullets and bombs… Somebody’s gotta die. In one of my random moods I picked this book. Surprisingly I actually enjoyed it. A wee bit annoying that the characters just don’t spit out what they feel, after all if the other person doesn’t like what’s said then too damn bad.
I’m early in the book (dozing through at times, so might have missed some things) but three questions: 1. Wouldn’t Abby (the woman who Trevor had originally arranged to marry Harrison) have sued for breach of contract? 2. If William’s name was on the marriage certificate instead of Harrison’s, wouldn’t the marriage be invalid? 3. If Harrison could look up William’s history so easily, why wouldn’t he have already done it for Patrice and then for Penny, too?
The books are very well written,”BUT!!!”, l am getting a bit fet up with the two main people that are confessing their love at the very end in pretty much every book. They could do it 1/2 or even 3/4’s way through then the two of them could sort out all the other problems together instead of waiting till the very end then l love u u love me & we all live happily ever after then epilogue everything went well. Same same same. This is y l liked the angle’s can’t fall in love better cos it’s not just the same thing over & over & over, she’s such a good writer l wish she would expand a bit more. But still very good & becoming one of my favourite writers. Love & light to all. 💖💖💖🤱💖💖💖👨👩👧👦💖💖💖👨👩👧👦💖💖💖🕊🇦🇺
Soooo here is a tip for all those that think cumin belongs on all Mexican dish. Don’t! I love cumin as much as the next guy but assuming it belongs on every Mexican dish is just a no. Try your dish without our it. It taste better trust me! Just need to throw that out there friendly tip from your friendly neighborhood Mexican lol
Just starting the story, not 15 minutes in. It’s important that narrators know where to fluctuate and how to enunciate. This one sounds like she has something in her mouth (cough drop or Jolly Rancher type thing) and struggles with both enunciating and proper fluctuation! I am not fond of what smoking and drinking alcohol does to voices and this one deffinitely has that sound, I would say the drinking over the smoking or she just isn’t old enough to be damaged as much, yet. It’s really rough but I will give it a try, hopefully her hard tack is gone soon!
Have you read LESSONS IN SIN from Pam Godwin? It’s a fu*king phenomenal book! It’s about a headmaster that’s a stickler for rules he is very strict (I think he is the headmaster in an all girls catholic boarding school) and a rich rowdy student that likes to break all the rules just to spite him and god damn the chemistry is freaking insane! It’s such a good read! And also her Dark historical pirate romance, sea of ruin I think? Apparently that one is steaming as hell and amazing! Please read these 2 books!!
Hi Mary! I really enjoy yogur articles and recomendations. I wanted to ask you a small thing. Could you possibly show the spine of the paperbacks that you talk about in your articles? I want to start my own paperback collection but only with books that have spines that are black, because I really like the color. I will be really helpful if you did. Thank you and greetings from Costa Rica 🇨🇷!
Watched this article Sunday, started ‘Don’t Kiss the Bride’ That evening and after some lost sleep and switching to audio during the day while I worked, I finished it by Monday night…. It wrecked me! My husband thought I was crazy, crying in bed next to him while I read. That’s not a book I would normally choose and I’m so glad I did! Now to get out of this book hangover so I can start another.
SPOILERS ABOUT TALON!!!!!! I don’t know where else to rant, so here I am since I got the recommendation from here. I was loving Talon, everything, the characters, the writing, the love story everything…….until the end. How does the author do something like that and expect to fix it in the last 8 chapters?????? I HATED the way she easily forgave him and just started talking to him again going on a date? THE MAN JUST BLIND SIDED YOU WITHOUT EXPLANATION his reason was so stupid and something that could have been resolved by TALKING!!!!! I was soooo maaaaaddddd at both of them her especially!!!!! And even when he began speaking to her he didn’t begin with an apology just straight up touching her, THE AUDACITY. I was so invested but this ending just pissed me off. This was a 4stars for me and it went straight to 0 at the end(I’m legitimately angry, so very angry about it as dumb as this sounds). Him getting her back should have been a second book. Then again maybe I’m just a very unforgiving person.😒😒😒😒
