A Bride For The Black Sheep Brother?

A Bride for the Black Sheep Brother is a novel by Emily McKay, set in a Tudor-era romance during a rebellion against Queen Elizabeth I. The story revolves around Cooper Larson, an illegitimate son of a disreputable family, who is now the sole heir to the estates and his brothers’ promised bride. Despite the immense inheritance, Cooper doesn’t care about finding the long-lost daughter of Hollister Cains, a woman with the exact same eye color as Dalton Cains.

The protagonist, Cooper, is a wealthy man who is determined to help his brother, Portia Callahan, in a venture to finance his latest venture. However, his reluctance to marry fades when he meets Lady Kate Wyville, who possesses a free and wily spirit to match his own. Love, trust, and family loyalty all come into question as the story unfolds.

The novel starts with a strong prologue that establishes the moment our hero, Cooper Larson (an illegitimate son), is introduced. The story revolves around a young woman named Portia Callahan, who has the exact same eye color as Dalton Cains. As they work together to save the estates, Cooper’s reluctance to marry fades.

At Cains Command, the novel explores themes of love, trust, and family loyalty in a dystopian land. Teen girls will delight in this fresh sci-fi fantasy that works the formula and throws in new surprises.

  • He had a flesh eating virus. Earlier in the day, Mark went on a hike and then went on a bad date. He touched an infected plant on the hike. The hospital had the medication to treat him and he would have to be isolated. Cops wanted to talk to him in regards to the hike to find out about the trail he had taken in order to close it off. When the cops saw him out of isolation- the cops and doctor panicked. Mark got transferred to a better hospital. Cops found the plant on the trail, tested it for the virus, and then uprooted the plant. Mark eventually got better from the medicine and was ready to go on dates again. Saved you all 15mins. You’re welcome

  • Paul noticed a article thumbnail while browsing on Youtube. He was confused because the thumbnail appeared to be a photo of a plant seed pod superimposed over a photo of a finger. He wondered if he should click on the link, suspecting it to bear little resemblance to the content of the thumbnail but he thought ‘heck I’ve got some time to kill’. He then clicked on the link and was soon confronted with a barrage of stock article clips accompanying a dreary voice over that cleverly over explained every single detail, whilst simultaneously not driving the narrative forward. Remember that time he had to kill? He’d need it because this story went on and on without divulging any interesting information. It was a master class in padding. ‘I hope there’s going to be lots of adverts during the story as a welcome diversion’ he thought and he wasn’t disappointed. When he finally found out the mundane reason behind these dots on someones finger he decided to leave a comment in the style of the article, but simply did not have the energy to keep going and gave up far too

  • I caught flesh eating disease while I was in the hospital. I had four surgeries to remove the skin that was infected. I had almost all the skin removed from my shin from the bottom of my ankle to the top of my knee. I had two skin grafts to repair the damage to my leg. I was in the hospital for 5 months recovering.

  • Here’s a like-sample of what you can expect from this story : “Mark wanted to get out. Nobody was telling him what was going on. At this point, Mark was getting desperate. He didnt know what was happening. Why did they lock him in the office? He started kicking the door, because he wanted out. The doctors would not answer him. Mark couldnt hear the doctors through his own kicking anyway. The doctors were freaking out. Mark really wanted out of the office because he had no clue what was happening and he wasnt getting answers. ” 🥴

  • The narrator completely left out what Mark and the date were wearing, what they ate, and the atmosphere of the restaurant. Does Mark drink coffee? Did he eat breakfast? How far did he have to drive to the doctor’s office? What cleaning chemicals did they use? What was Mark’s favorite music? His hopes? His dreams?

  • I left my home in Kansas and moved to New Mexico with my husband in 1986. I had to go home and make arrangements to take care of my beautiful mother! While back home for a few weeks and my husband and I went back to Albuquerque to help our daughter with her car, we got there at 11:00 pm and went straight to bed! Next morning I woke up and my right calf had turned black!! A flesh eating bacteria that was in soil, that I’m not used to, ate all of my lower leg! The doctors told my daughter to start funeral arrangements because I had a 15% chance of survival!!! Thank You God after 16 surgeries and a heck of a lot of pain. I’m still kicking!!!!

  • I wish this story had gone into more detail, what he had for breakfast, his childhood, what all the other patients were in for, who repaired the doctors door for him to then shut it later on And how many days he was locked in there while they waited for the test results to come back, if he had his hearing checked if he couldn’t hear them shouting at him to stop baning on the door… I feel this could be turned into a Hollywood blockbuster or at least a Netflix 26 six part series .

  • This was a first perusal something on this website… and my last visit too. Such a loss of time, for such a simple story, with convolutions aplenty and more adjectives than one could ever think of. But the goal is clear : retaining the audience. As a guy who has 20 years of experience in the spectacle/event/entertainment industry, I know one thing for sure : the best and surest way to loose an audience is to get them bored. And this is exactly what you have achieved. Well done…!

  • I wish I had read the spoiler comment instead of wasting half my life on this horribly written nonsense. I scrubbed through it and it still felt like i was aging. This could have been told in 2 minutes. I feel really sorry for the person who had to read this tripe, especially since it seems obvious he was seeing it for the first time.

  • You padded that story ridiculously. What was even more ridiculous was their failure to tell him promptly what was wrong. I kept thinking that there must be some illegal activity he had been engaged in, and the wounds on his thumb were proof that he had engaged in that activity. That would justify not telling him until the police were ready to arrest him. As it was, they were completely unjustified.

  • Sounds like a load of bull to me, and I have 20 years working in the Medical field. The picture looked a bit like a blown up version of a planter wart, I had one when I was a kid. They make up these stories just to get our reactions. Linda Nevarez- Your leg made a complete recovery? Now that is a really scary life and death story!

  • The doctor was extremely negligent. The doctors should have called an ambulance and notified the dispatcher that the patient has a dangerous infectious disease. The doctor has no excuse. The doctor needs to have his license revoked because he is not competent to be a physician and is a threat to the lives of his patients.

  • Mark had a strange round spot on his finger. When he went to the doctor to get some answers, he was shocked what they found out! But first some backstory…. around 13.8 billion years ago, all the matter in the Universe emerged from a single, minute point, or singularity, in a violent burst. This expanded at an astonishingly high rate and temperature, doubling in size every 10-34 seconds, creating space as it rapidly inflated. Within a tiny fraction of a second gravity and all the other forces were formed. Energy changed into particles of matter and antimatter, which largely destroyed each other. But luckily for us some matter survived. Protons and neutrons started to form within the first second; within minutes these protons and neutrons could fuse and form hydrogen and helium nuclei. After 300,000 years, nuclei could finally capture electrons to form atoms, filling the Universe with clouds of hydrogen and helium gas. (PART 1 of 84,578)

  • I am going to call BS on this story. There was no reason for the Doctor to lock him in the room and not tell him anything. Any competent Dr. would have told him what was going on and that he needed to be quarantined and that would have prevented a lot pf headache for everyone. If a Dr. locked me in the room like that with no explanation, there would be a major law suite.

  • The kind of doors installed in commercial facilities are, 99.7% of the time, steel doors that weight 100 lbs. or more and set in very strong steel jambs. Also, the door referred to here, in the described setting, would have opened into the room. There is no way a human being could break that door open. Total fiction and nonsense. It puts serious doubt as to the credibility to the entire story, and that is exactly what it is, a story, without a shred of reality to it, except that it is possible to acquire a Necrotising fasciitis or cellulitis by contact with a contaminated surface.

  • Mark took a dump weighing approximately 2.35 lbs. on Thursday evening. It was around the consistency of soft serve 🍦and appeared to be speckled with small yellow lumps. After a lengthy conversation with his physician, both decided bringing in a sample was the right course of action. Mark was nervous that entire night, getting little sleep. The next morning he rushed to the doctor. The poo was thoroughly examined. The yellow lumps that caused so much concern, were determined to be pieces of 🌽. Hearing the results, he remembered having 🌽 as a side with the previous night’s dinner.

  • I won’t go as hard as some ppl in this comment section but this article was as frustrating as one of those cookie/advertisment “news” sites that use flashy intriguing titles & thumbnail pics & give u tiny bits of the story at a time… making u keep having to click forward to the next “page” every few sentences while it repeats itself over & over, making me so mad & frustrated that I end up saying “F-U” to my screen & exiting out of the story b4 it’s end! It took me a couple times of extreme frustration attempting to finish a story b4 I finally started avoiding any news story or article in that format, where u have to push “next” a million times to get to the end fighting off ads & pop ups along the way but now as soon as I see a “next” button appear… I quickly exit out! Idc how intriguing the story starts out! The story telling in this article isn’t terrible but the unnecessary details & “suspense” that leads nowhere is what ticks ppl off & what will make them avoid your stories & website in the future. Kinda reminds me of Game Of Thrones… getting ppl all invested & curious expecting this huge reveal & great ending w long awaited answers that never come!

  • Bad thumbnail photo. But I thought that I would give it a try. The photo is actually a seed pod Photoshopped onto the picture of a thumb. My mom had one when I was young. Always wondered what the seed pod was from! As an adult I remember seeing this as a kid. And the first time I saw it I thought it was really creepy! But rest assured that this is nothing fatal about this seed pod! I played with it on numerous occasions, and nothing ever happened. I remember wondering how the seeds stayed inside the holder. They were loose and rattled around. I remember trying to see if I could get one or two of them out of the pod by rolling them around without damaging the pod. I played with it for awhile and got tired of it and put it back. And forget about it until I saw it in a Photoshopped picture of a thumb about a year or two ago… Ah memories!

  • Mark found some weird spots on his thumb and he found some weird spots on his thumb. He didn’t know what they were but still found some weird spots on his thumb which were weird spots that he didn’t know what they were. So then he found some weird spots on his thumb that somehow involved the police and he still had some weird spots on his thumb that were weird spots on his thumb. The doctors had never seen anything like it but he had weird spots on his thumb…

  • I have a plant parasite that’s been growing in me for 24 years, I only recently discovered it in a CT scan I ran through a 3D program. Its morphology fits that of a plant, and its tendency to completely encapsulate all major veins, such my vena cava -subclavian, most likely for Co2, and after 11 omitting doctors in 2yrs later, I had to figure this out myself, Come check me out to see and know more.

  • This guy got a whole lot wrong about this story and simply made up parts to make it longer than needed: Last month, a few minor blisters turned into a flesh-eating nightmare for hiker Wayne Atkins, who developed a dangerous bacterial infection after climbing Mount Garfield, a 4,500-foot peak in New Hampshire. Atkins survived, but barely: He spent 2 1/2 weeks in a medically induced coma while doctors pumped him full of antibiotics and removed chunks of his flesh to get rid of the infection.\r \r And Atkins was lucky, relatively speaking: Infection with flesh-eating bacteria is considered a surgical emergency, and can require limb amputation. One in four people with necrotizing fasciitis dies.

  • After hearing Mark’s story, for the first time, I regained my vision that I lost when I was 3 years old. After regaining my vision, I then had to watch Mark’s ordeal. After seeing this article and hearing it for the 2nd time, I gained the ability to heal people. I healed a whole village of diseased people and we all run off the cliff into the bowels of hell where we all watched this article. And we conquered hell from the devil and demons, of whom we made watch this article over and over for eternity.

  • BY THE TIME 0:40 SECONDS HAD PASSED THE CHARACTER MARK WAS CALLED PETER .AND AGAIN ABOUT 1:00 MINUTE INTO THE STREAM. SO I DECIDED THIS WAS A COMPLETELY BOGUS STORY TELLER & BOGUS STORYLINE !!! I HAVE TO WONDER IF THIS STORY IS A REAL ONE AT ALL! WHY DOES THE MAIN CHARACTER HAVE 2 NAMES ? HE IS CALLED BOTH ” MARK ” AND ” PETER” @ 4:20, 9:18, 12:18, 12:32, AND 15:35 . I AM PRETTY SURE THAT I MISSED THE NAME PETER BEING USED AT LEAST 1 OR MORE TIMES. I CALL B.S. !!! LARRY BARTH 🇨🇦

  • Mark has an infection on his right hand. The right hand is part of your arm, your arm is attached to your shoulder. Mankind has been using their shoulders for heavy lifting for years for many different things. Mark could not believe his eyes, he had a sore on his finger. Eyes have been used since the beginning of time for many different things,. They come in all types of shapes and colors. They come in blue, like the color of the police uniforms Mark was worried now, Concern has been a human trait for years. Concern is what allows us to make calculated decisions. Speaking of calculators, Mark thought about the time he dropped his calculator back in grade school while getting blown by his science teacher. Oh yea, science. There was this time that Mark thought about a science test he took and he felt he should have gotten a better grade. Oh yea, now back to mark and his finger. This Joe Biden telling you a story.

  • Doctors make mistakes Too, The 1st neurosurgeons Diagnosed a nervous breakdown as an epeleptic fit, despite Tests, I was Epeleptic, Sodium Vallporate; from 62kgs > 125 kgs, Check-ups every 6 months told Doctor no. 6, stopped medicaction 2017, he said nothing wrong with me apart from COPD, still weigh 109 kgs.

  • I researched this apparently “mucoralean fungi”(others too) entering an open wound or being ingested in some way can cause “necrotizing fasciitis”. Which i dont recommend you look up. Its rare, disgusting and i never wanna hear about it again. Apperently this guy was dealing with the early stages of that disease. I might be wrong but im done researching it! Bro if your gonna talk about something. Explain it in your article. Fully.

  • Fun trick is to tell them stories that don’t go anywhere. Like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe. So, I decided to go to Morganville (which is what they called Shelbyville in those days), so I tied an onion to my belt (which was the style at the time). Now, to take the ferry costs a nickel and in those days nickels had pictures of bumblebees on ‘em. “Give me 5 bees for a quarter”, you’d say. Now where were we? Oh yeah. The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt (which was the style at the time). They didn’t have white onions, because of the war, the only thing you could get was those big yellow ones.

  • I am amazed at the reaction of the Medical / Nursing staf Surely all Medical personnel know how to deal with pote- ntially transmissible situat- ions. Allay the PT’s fears ex- plain what MUST be done; isolation until an Infectious Disease team can intervene and transport. No wonder he broke door, he was made to feel like a criminal, a pariah So many people were expo- sed because of incorrect pro cedure. Glove his hand, even as an attempt at containm- ent.🤔🤔🤔. Fr: the West Indies, a Ret. R N+ Infectious Disease specialty.

  • There’s a big problem with this story. There is no doctor that will see a patient on the same day, no results that come back in minutes. There’s usually weeks and weeks of waiting! So what really happened is, the woman Mark had a date with the night before was really from another PLACE and gave him that skin disorder. Marking him, selecting him, to be the next one taken! The doctor, the office, the patients and the police were all from that same PLACE. Poor mark had no clue as he didn’t realize how strange and unrealistic it is to get into an office to see a doctor on the same day! Even the emails coming from the other doctors were really from the leaders of that PLACE giving instructions to his capture. Mark was never seen again! That woman has 3 other dates set up just this week alone with unsuspecting humans.-

  • Additional details which can figure in the story : (a) Mark’s meal preferences. (b) Mark’s Social Security Number. (c) Type of car which Mark drove. (d) Names of former girlfriends / wives of Mark. (e) College from which the doctor had graduated. (f) Names of the doctors children. (g) Other ailments of the balance patients of the doctor. (h) Mobile phone numbers of the policemen. (j) Tyre pressure in all the tyres of the police vehicle. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  • Mark couldn’t decide whether to wear a green shirt or a blue shirt to the doctor’s office… His favorite color was blue, but he thought he might have worn that color too often… the girl he’d been talking to online really likes the color orange, and he started wishing he had an orange shirt… maybe he would go buy an orange shirt sometime if he remembers to.

  • Mark went on a hike and stupidly fondled plants along the trail. Then Mark stupidly went on a date with someone he met online. He fondled the girl a little, but due to lack of chemistry, he didn’t follow up on the date and neither did she. The next day, Mark had painful holes in his fondling thumb which freaked him out. He tried a few home remedies…tweezers, hydrogen peroxide, and heat….but then went to the doctor. Mark was locked up in a psych cell for awhile but broke out. His thumb got worse, the hard things in the holes appeared to be hatching something! His other thumb developed holes, too. The police were called but they freaked out, as well. Fortunately, medicine was available for the odd infestation. No one ever discovered which fondling caused it. Mark is okay now, but sadly he lives minus the opposable thumbs unique to humans. Mark doesn’t hike or date internet girls anymore, either.

  • My friend had a knee replacement then he ended up with an infection and bacteria eating him up in his knee up so I don’t know if he has the same thing or anything to do with that but it was really strange and this just happened to him recently so can you give me some ideas on that so I can give to him because he had to get his leg amputated

  • Do you know what is the saddest thing about this article?… I don’t have the details, but I understand that Youtube pay him for the number of views, Likes, Dislikes, and Comments, among other things. If this was a consumer product, it would not be fit for purpose, and would be a candidate for recall… instead, it has sold like hotcakes, and he makes money! Jeez!! (And by Posting this, he will make even more!)

  • Call ten slip-and-fall attorneys, and sue the sh*t out of everyone involved with this blatant KIDNAPPING. Mark will soon own the hospital, both doctors’ estates, including their wives and daughters, too! I’m curious if anyone in Mark’s nephew’s third-grade class actually read, and edited, the copy of this disastrous polemic written as a class project?(Trust me, once I was able to keep the flies out of my wide-open mouth, I laughed all the way to the local Emergency Room!)

  • Okay but for public safety shouldn’t we be made aware of what plants have the potential to cause this and where they are likely to grow so we can avoid it and let authorities know when it is spotted I don’t like the fact that they just closed the area off secretly disposed of the plant and reopened it without informing the public

  • When I was in my 20s, I drove through South America with four other people that I met traveling in Colorado. There was a village where the locals were telling us about an abandoned city, and they kept saying death is there. This was 1997 and the Flyers we’re going to the Stanley Cup, I am from Philadelphia, so I flew home. The other four members decided to take a hike through this abandon city, and they honestly didn’t find anything but houses and there were a lot of bugs. They were eaten by mosquitoes, but thought nothing of it. We all met up back in Colorado and they further noticed these giant open wounds, forming on the legs and forearms. The five of us all went to the emergency room, and I went just because I was with them, and it turns out they got a flesh eating virus from the mosquitoes in the village. They we were warned not to go into. They told me that I was lucky of that I decided to go to Philadelphia to watch the Philadelphia Flyers in the finals and then I told him I was not because they lost in four games to the Detroit redwings. But in the end I was very lucky because the four of them were taken to Denver and put in isolation for over a month. They’re all OK except for some major scarring, but this was like 20 odd years ago so I’ve really moved on and don’t travel anymore, but I believe I dodged a huge bullet not going to the city of death with my friends……..

  • Man…15 minutes for that?? This story was “Short” worthy but no more than that. If it’s a true story I pray for anyone that may ever be affected by this. I also was disappointed by the lack of pictures. Some of us watch this stuff as preventative measures. Especially those of us with kiddos. With that, I bid you good day sir…madam…whoever you might be. In my best British accent. Lol 😊

  • After a while, Mark then went to the bathroom, sat down on the toilet, remembered he had to pull down his pants to take a dump or he would poop in his pants. Mark thought about this. Mark stood up, thought about standing up, pulled down his pants and thought, “Gee, it’s a good thing I did not poo in my pants like yesterday.” He then sat back down. Mark sat on the toilet and grunted loudly. GRRRRRRrr! Trying to poo while concerned about his thumb hole virus was proving challenging. Mark thought, maybe, encouraging the poop to come out would help. Mark started saying, “Come on out of there poops, get out of me! I’m worried about my thumb and don’t have time for a long poop session.” After a while, Mark thought some more about this. Mark eventually relaxed and, but, there was more to this than Mark originally thought about before back then the other day in the woods. Mark thought, also, maybe if he told the thumb virus to away it might work too, but probably not. Finally, after a while, grunting and pushing, slowly, the poops came out and splashed into the toilet water. Mark was relieved. Mark. Thought. Mark thought about being relieved and realized he still had a problem. This upset Mark, ruining his post-poo calm. He thought about wiping his bum shortly after. After a moment, he stood up, grabbed a large amount of toilet paper, and wiped vigorously. Mark thought about this for a while after…about a connection between wiping his bum and the thumb virus, as well as the girl he went on a date with, but she did not like him.
