A Bride Meets The Girl Whose Life She Saved?

Sarah Aiken and Kinley Strohl, a 14-year-old cancer survivor, met at their wedding after five years of being strangers. Aiken’s life was saved by donating her bone marrow seven years earlier, and she was able to meet the girl for the first time as a flower girl at her wedding. The couple had previously met as strangers in a restaurant in Annapolis before their wedding rehearsal dinner.

An Illinois couple recently married after saving a damsel in distress. The Bionic Bride, who saved a damsel in distress, met the family of her heart donor after five years. On the way, he saw a young girl on the verge of drowning, and when the monster rescues her, the couple was brought together.

A grieving mother met the child whose life was saved thanks to the donation of her little girl’s heart. Amber Travaglio and Ashlyn Richardson embraced in a tearful first embrace, and the 35-year-old then embraced the Winsford boy whose life his youngster saved with a transplant.

Tessa, a librarian by training and a booklover at heart, lives in Southern California with her husband, their two children, and a trio of cosmic kitties. Booklist magazine named her one of the new stars of historical romance, and her books have been contracted for translation in a dozen languages.

  • A Friend of mine committed suicide several years ago. His heart was the only organ that was savable and given to an Older gentleman that served his country in the Air Force for 45 years. His Mother was able to meet him after one year and that was if he wanted to meet. She was able to hear his heartbeat and they are still really good friends to this day.

  • This is just making me tear up 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. The way she keeps starring at him as if he is her real son. The feeling, the experience can only be fully understood, explained by this mother. To have a part of your dead child’s body in another living being, and not just any part, but the engine room, the ♥ ♥ heart. Hmmmm, I am actually struggling with typing this out!😊😊😍💗💗💗💗💗👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

  • I love that they said that this young man was her son’s “legacy.” How beautiful to see that hope can come out of tragedy, that even though a death by accident can feel so meaningless, it was given a special meaning in the donation- her son was able to save someone else’s life. Whatever good things that donor recipient goes on to do in his life, they happen because her son saved him. It’s so wonderful that this guy is now an ongoing part of his donor’s parents’ lives. It was the last gift their son gave to them: a comfort for their grief. I am so moved by this.

  • Wow! What a beautiful story! This was the best wedding gift ever!! I am so sorry that Becky lost her son and I can’t imagine the pain she’s still going through. How amazing that not only was her son there in spirit at her wedding but also his heart. I was in tears when I saw this article. It’s one of those bittersweet moments that stays with you.

  • OH MY…, WOW!!! What an amazing story and so fitting for a happy ending. First of all I’m so sorry for your loss. But so happily overjoyed that you got to hear your son’s heartbeat 💙. I can’t stop crying, and they are both sad and happy tears. Your son is a HERO for being an organ donor. Hope you get to meet everyone who got a piece of love from your amazing son. God Bless

  • Being someone who has lost a daughter this was bittersweet. I’m glad they both had the opportunity to meet. Our daughter was killed in an accident and they called me twice to set up for organ donation and it was so crazy that night but by the time I finally got to talk to them, along with the fact that they were doing an op topsy she couldn’t be in organ donor. It broke her heart. I’m glad she has a piece of her son’s.

  • That would be so surreal to hear your child’s heart inside of a stranger knowing that this is the heart that you carried in your body and grew. I would be a mess. I have two beautiful boys and I love them more than anything. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for them, I know you hear people say that they would die for their kids but I really mean that. This made me so happy to see.

  • Just reading the title of this makes me cry. We made the decision to donate my 26 yr old son’s heart a few months ago. He was a pedestrian, mowed down by a driver high on fentanyl and morphine. My son had the biggest heart. The kindest, strongest person to all who knew him. He didnt get his chance to accomplish what he was capable of in his physical life, it seemed like the most natural thing, to give someone else that chance. I hope to someday meet his recipient, but right now, my grief is too raw. Someday, i will….
