A Pure And Sotless Bride?

The Church is called to be the holy, radiant, pure, spotless Bride of Christ. As believers, we are called to rejoice and give glory to Him, as the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has prepared herself. This bride is clothed in fine linen, bright and pure, as it is the righteous deeds of the saints.

The relationship between Christ and the church is similar to the married couple, with the church being a pure and spotless bride to be prepared for the bridegroom of the Second Coming when Christ returns to get his people. God views married couples as one flesh, and the Bride of Christ is the entire Church.

When Christ returns, we will be freed from our sinful nature inherited from Adam and be redeemed with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and spot. Jesus selflessly nourishes and cherishes His bride through the washing of the water of the Word.

In the Bible, God is very clear on this, stating many times that He is coming back for a pure and spotless bride. One totally committed to Him is called to be a pure and spotless bride. What does the Bible say about being spotless?

EPHESIANS 5:27 – He wants the church to be perfect.

I recently had an embarrassing moment. I was in a facility for a while to think and relax. It was supposed to be relaxing, but it wasn’t. The place I was staying had bed bugs, so they came up with a treatment that worked well. They dried all the clothes on high heat. This killed the bedbugs.

What is Ephesians 5:27 about?

This sermon traces God’s plan to choose a holy people from before the world began. They would be Christ’s spotless bride. We start by looking at the word “present” in the New Testament. Our verse says that Christ will present a glorious church to Himself. The bride is not preparing herself or her family. Instead, Christ prepares her and presents her to Himself. This shows that God’s work is for His glory. The bride will be perfect because of God’s work. “Holy and blameless” in Ephesians 5:27 repeats the phrase from Ephesians 1:4, creating brackets for the material in between. We show how God’s plan to have a holy and blameless people from all eternity is revealed in Ephesians 1-5. This means making dead sinners alive by grace through faith. God makes dead sinners alive and puts them into His church. This church is built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ as the cornerstone. God perfects His church for the praise of His glory. The sermon explains how this is explained in Ephesians 1:4-5:27. Ephesians teaches us about the church and its members. It goes from the past to the future. God takes sinners and makes them pure and glorious as Christ’s bride. We say this is for God’s glory.

The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD helps them. The Church carries burdens, but it is better to swap them out with the burden of soul-winning. In hard times, I learn through persecution. I am Christ’s bride. He protects me! The devil is a “paper tiger.” When he roars, Jesus stands up and our Lion of Judah roars back! Be alert, the enemy is coming for the Church. Stay in God’s hands. No one can take us out of God’s hand! Don’t lose hope. Stay in touch with Him. Look up! He cares!
