I knew a girl as a teenager who was a friend of a friend from a different high school. We hung out a few times and she was nice. However, she had a hook nose and small cheekbones. Two years passed until I saw her in college. She looked beautiful. I didn’t even recognize her. She was very open about it and explained how she saved money for plastic surgery. She said young bodies recover more easily and naturally from the work. All these celebrities had beauty and were afraid of losing it. Let’s be understanding that it does help some people.
I once saw Michael Jackson described as a singer who used to look like a cute little black boy, who gradually morphed into a creature who didn’t seem to have an age or a race or a gender. And how sad to see him being interviewed when his face was so messed up that his lips didn’t even move when he spoke.
One thing left out from the conversation about too much plastic surgery is the fact that people age and partly look less handsome and beautiful because of the aging. If they would just age naturally they wouldn’t end up looking like freaks. But there’s so much pressure not to age at all and that is what prompts so many people to go under the needle and knife to save themselves from looking older. Granted some of it is body dysmorphia, but so many people start changing things because they’re worried that they’re getting older.
I honestly don’t think it was surgery that halted Tara Reid’s career. It’s pretty common knowledge that apparently, she behaves insanely unprofessionally (not reliable to show up on time, learn her lines, respect her costars, etc). She has awful personal hygiene habits. And many say she suffers from substance abuse issues.
What gets me is it’s the media and everyone in Show Business that put pressure on everybody to look perfect and to stay that way and then when they try to do that because everybody ages and their looks change then they stop giving them movie roles because they look like they had work??!!! How else do you love 20 when you’re 60
I think a lot of these people blame their lack of work on ‘botched’ plastic surgeries when actually, they just didn’t have the talent to stay relevant. Also, Hollywood does not favor older actors. Many of them try to hold onto their popularity with surgery and, most of the time, it doesn’t help them.
I saw Sonny and Cher at the Ohio State Fair back in 1973 or 1974. What a great show! Sonny carried the show while Cher was changing clothes. Cher still had her own long hair which was so gorgeous! I don’t see why any of these actors/singers had any work done. I was the most dismayed by all the work Michael Jackson had done.
Lil’ Kim looked gorgeous before all the plastic surgery. Now she looks like if you stood her next to a radiator she’d melt. I did Botox for migraines and I hated the whole frozen forehead deal. Not only did it not help my migraines but I was allergic to it. Mickey Rourke was gorgeous back in the day. He’s still really well built for his age but his face is just messed up for everything they stated in the article. Botox only lasts 3 months and thank freaking gawd because I hated it. I’m almost 46 now and my profile picture was taken a few months ago. Absolutely no filters, and I don’t even wear foundation make-up either. I stopped wearing foundation back in my early 20’s.
All of of these people end up looking freakishly the same. A complete and utter conviction on hypocritical Hollywood! I do believe some people legitimately suffer from body dysphoria. And that some procedures may be the only help/cure that works for them. But to change your appearance because you’re not getting certain roles or acting jobs seems like complete insanity. There are no chemical cures for spiritual problems.
I think everyone (accepting a very few cases where help is really needed) looks better with the faces they started with. Even when surgeries are done well people end up with cookie cutter features, looking “ordinary”. They appear less uniquely beautiful and blend into the crowd. Botched or not, I usually prefer the before versions.
People can say, that I haven’t had plastic surgeries because the procedures they get aren’t surgeries they are procedures. Fillers, Botox, threads, and cool sculpting are all procedures if they don’t go under the knife, they’re able to skirt the definition of plastic surgery. Although some celeb’s, are straight up lying, and that is really what’s so sad about this.
One thing that I think is true for many of the “after plastic surgery they didn’t have much of a career” folks is, in many cases the reason they got tempted to have plastic surgery was age was doing a job on their previously youthful attractive looks…. and in all honesty it’s the aging that really screws up most women’s acting careers. Not being in their twenties or thirties is a very big problem for many actresses. It turns out plastic surgery can help some things, if it’s incredibly subtle, but there’s no evidence it successfully reverses the clock.
The whole situation with Tara Reid is honestly kinda’ sad because I remember her before all the extra stuff. She was super cute before — petit, had a nice figure that suited her body type, played certain characters well. I mean, everyone liked her before surgery. She made several top lists for actresses during that era, landed a lot of roles and gigs, and even did well having a fan base, but after surgery? She became a complete mockery. In a matter of a year she was either the butt of the joke or people acted like they didn’t know who she was. Celebs didn’t want to be seen around her, and you know that had to take a toll mentally on her. Enough to where she even had her own mini spiral, but because she became the laughing stock of Hollywood … no one cared. Hollywood is so damn toxic. Really wish celebrities would just learn to love what they have and stand up to the manufactured beauty they push on people. We all have flaws. There’s a difference in correcting something for health issues and doing something to make yourself “look good”, and too often society uses the former as an excuse when it’s actually the latter. I mean, if you’re going to get it, be honest about it. If not, then don’t do it.
I have seen so many people who have had nose jobs. They all look so good but I see a star with a nose job and so many look not so good! Are they going to the same doctor? I mean some of the Jackson’s all have the same nose! And they all look pretty pinched and strange! It’s so weird how much trust people put in these Alist doctors!
People are gonna do, what they gotta do; in order to pay the rent n the bills. Proactive ways are over looked though; due to impulive energy. Since impulsive actions always make human beings feel epic in a second. Even on serious life changing medical choices. When you’re at the right place n at the right time. Courtney Cox did it right.. she looks so much better now that she had that stuff dissolved.. she looks like the original Monica we all fell in love with! So happy for her not slipping down the plastic surgery rabbit hole and didn’t do anything that couldn’t be reversed or completely ruin her face.. thank Goodness too!! 💜👍
Jennifer Grey did not go in for a nose job. She went in for a deviated septum and the surgeon took it upon himself to alter her nose/appearance. Jennifer should have sued, but for some reason didn’t. She has suffered ever since due to not being recognizable as the actress who starred in Dirty Dancing.
These people all end up looking like they’re melting. It’s like their skin loses its integrity and structure. And their muscles as well. I think it’s really sad. I saw Kim Novak on an awards show and I was so shocked. Farrah Fawcett and Hunter Tylo, Demi Moore…there’s just so many. I think they develop a kind of body dysmorphia, where they just don’t see what’s happened. It is very sad.
Leave Michael Jackson alone!! He went through too much scrutiny for being different, genius, original but most of all for helping the world, carrying for sick and ill, spreading msg of LOVE and PEACE…fighting against the evil Elite and the Sick Hollywood.. the change of his apearance NEVER destroyed his greatness of being King of Pop, King of Hearts, King of Dance and Entertainment…KING OF KINGS…no matter how he looked, he will always be loved by BILLIONS around the world… he will always stay ICON and LEGEND FOREVER… there’s nobody bigger in music industry than MICHAEL JACKSON…
You are the better looking sister in my opinion. You allowed what others negative Opinions about your image as well as you thinking down to what they want you to think about your image so you’ll stay in self-doubt Nothing wrong with your natural look, no ugliness in your image . Positive Self-Image comes from your soul-health, not from an outside Appearance. Don’t Be Tricked into thinking that feeling good about yourself image comes from the Outside .
At he beginning of this article you, the host girl, looked like a simple good looking girl, quite a nice girl next door which I’d take out any given day. By the end of the article, with each example shown on screen and returning to you, you looked better and better and at the end you look like an absolute goddess. Like the most beautiful being on the planet. 🙂
I have a theory about Melanie Griffith. Her mother: tippy hedren, is exceptionally is an exceptionally beautiful woman: the prototypical pretty classy blond who caught Hitchcock’s eye and starred in the birds. Her characters name was Melanie. Melanie Griffith was also married to don johnson; and exceptionally good looking man then to antonio banderas; the hildalgo sex symbol. It must not be easy to be around such exceptionally good looking people and especially a mother who has a timeless beauty and class when one earns one’s living from acting. I really like Melanie and find her transformation very sad.
I think Ashely Simpson looks 🧡great even if she didn’t get a nose 👃🏾 job…and she can really sing 🎤 I have heard her singing 🎤 on her sisters/nicks reality show while they were in her grandmothers kitchen ……so don’t let her fool you with her cortney love voice…..and she had a great reality show herself…and she married Diana rosses son smart move on her part you go Ashley 😉
Jennifer Grey should’ve never changed her nose. So many of these women were naturally beautiful and ruined it with plastic surgery. Sometimes what people think are flaw’s are what make them unique and beautiful. I had breast augmentation in my 20s if I could go back I would’ve had them uplifted without making them larger.
