Chapter 30 discusses the importance of marriage and the responsibilities it brings. It emphasizes that marriage is not a game, but rather a permanent bond between husbands and wives. The Bible emphasizes the importance of self-control and planning ahead for a life of marriage. It is crucial to replace daydreams about marriage with realities, as love may not cover all financial hardships or pay bills.
When discussing marriage, it is important to be discerning and consider each person’s pace and expectations. Singleness and marriage are considered gifts by the Bible, with the former being described as a gift, while the latter is viewed as a gift. The Bible encourages Christians to marry when they are “past the bloom of youth,” as passion can distort the relationship.
When dating, it is essential to be ready for either the outcome of marriage or a breakup. To determine if you are ready to get married, consider your comfort level with your partner and whether you are comfortable around them. In many countries, dating is viewed as a means of romantic entertainment, but it takes many forms. Humility is also essential in marriage, as a good marriage mate can admit mistakes and apologize for them.
In conclusion, preparing for marriage involves understanding the responsibilities and benefits of both singleness and marriage, as well as being prepared for the potential challenges and difficulties that come with it.

You have a strong work ethic and can delay gratification. You are emotionally mature. You don’t get angry or out of control. You don’t get jealous or insecure. You don’t get defensive or withdraw. You put your partner’s dreams and preferences first. You can ask for and give forgiveness. You can handle disappointment. You can separate from your parents and not rely on them too much.

Adams thinks now is a good time to get married. By the time one is in their late 20s or early 30s, they are usually aware, experienced, and mature when it comes to dealing with trauma, issues, and communication. That’s why I think it’s a good time for those looking to get married. Adams says people in this age bracket are better able to handle marriage. You’re more capable of responsibility, accountability, and freedom during those years of life. You’re also more likely to be financially stable, which is ideal if you want to start a family.
What to Know About Getting Married in Your Late 30s and Beyond. People are getting married later, so it’s normal to settle down in your late 30s or 40s. If you know what you want by this age, you’ve likely had a few relationships. This means you know what works and what doesn’t. The downside is that you might be set in your ways by this point, says Dr. Fisher. If you’ve been single for a long time, you might be set in your ways. You think your way is the right way, and it can be hard to compromise. That’s when conflicts can arise. For those who live independently, have high-powered jobs, or travel alone, it can be hard to merge their lives with another person.

How do you know you’re not ready for marriage?
12 Signs You’re Not Ready for Marriage: You’re More Concerned With the Wedding than the Marriage. You don’t trust each other yet. … You can’t see yourself as a parent. Happy couples do three things to stay together. They are committed, communicate well and compromise. These are the three Cs of a happy marriage. Happily married people are committed and show it. What is the best age to get married for a successful marriage?
Marriage is most likely to last at least five years if the couple gets married between the ages of 28 and 32. The idea is that people at this age are just right. Krawiec says people should be old enough to understand the difference between true compatibility and puppy love, but young enough to be flexible. “A person usually succeeds in their marriage after age 25,” says Alicia Taverner, owner of Rancho Counseling. “I see couples on the verge of divorce. They married before they found themselves.”
What are the signs that God is preparing you for marriage?
You’re not ready for marriage. You should be content. Just you and God. God can bless you with a marriage. It’s important to find joy. And peace in your own company.
Should I stay married all my life to a person who decides not to talk to me anymore, to stop working, to stop doing the housework, to stop doing the shopping, who starts drinking and taking drugs, who don’t do the cooking or the laundry anymore, etc… In short, the Watchtower condemns me to stay with such a person and that all my life unless this person decides to commit adultery!!! My deliverance rests only on adultery. Fortunately, human laws are more reasonable than the laws of an old ancient book that was only concerned with perpetuating patriacal power for whom violence and abuse were not a problem.
The toxic doctrines of the Watchtower go so far as to say that a JW woman who lives with an abusive, violent and alcoholic husband should continue to live with this man all her life. Even if her husband sleeps with other men, his wife JW will be forced to stay with him rather than divorce to escape this domestic hell.
I couldn’t agree more. It worked out for my wife & I (35+ years together) but so many we know have ended up trapped in a bad marriage or trapped as ‘unscripturally divorced’, never free to move on. The latter sometimes happens when the marriage becomes platonic; often as a result of inexperience with intimacy or free discussion of it prior to marriage. If a JW is trapped in a marriage where sexual activity becomes absent (one parter refuses to engage in intimacy or can’t because of some mental trauma) one can’t obtain a scriptural divorce. This leaves the longing partner in a terrible position. The one who wasn’t interested in a sexual relationship will never give the other scriptural grounds. This traps the innocent party in limbo. Eventually that individual will find someone and become intimate. But then will be disfellowshiped for ‘imorality’. If a ‘normal’ courtship could have taken place, the one individual’s issues with sexual intimacy could have been discovered before marriage, saving everyone a lot of grief. With JW’s its: “No, you can’t drive the car. You can’t even sit in it. Then; here’s your licence…now go 100 miles an hour!”
My ex wife was a lifelong witness as was her entire family… Adultery is one of their ways out, correct. That worthless scumbag cheated on me and ran off to marry her first cousin in Florida somewhere 😂 It scarred me for many years, thought I’d never truly love again. Boy was I WRONG! I’ve now been with my wife for 9 years and we have had five children in that time frame. Teri, if you’re somewhere out there reading this, thank you, cousin f***er from the bottom of my heart. You gave me the greatest gift I could’ve ever asked for… your absence.
The first one you metion that the happy couple (boyfriend and girlfriend) are not allowed to sit next each other at the hall unless they’re married or can’t do anything spend alone together is troubling. They need to bond or get to know each other in a deep level to see if they’re RIGHT for eachother! This is physcoical damage that watchtower elders made. It’s like they want to see misery no happiness in couples. Sorry for my spelling error on pshychological.
If I can’t find a girlfriend, my plan is to: 1. Pretend to be a Jehovah’s Witness and get baptized. 2. Connect with a Jehovah’s Witness and establish a relationship. 3. Gradually discuss our beliefs and help her recognize potential concerns within the faith. 4. Eventually, we both decide to leave the cult, ensuring a happier life together.
I have a friend who was in a very mentally & physically abusive relationship and he was also having an affair (but there was “no proof” of that or her being abused their elders and others said. So to free herself she began seeing a close co worker friend, had an affair and finally got her divorce. However She was the one who got disciplined & disfellowshipped. Him… Nothing. He even was quick to remarry 6 months after the divorce was finalized. He even remarried in his Kingdom Hall. But my friend is much happier and doing great and happy and so in love with her boyfriend. Similar situation with her sister. But both are so much happier now. Their own mom and brother even mistreated them. (Their brother acts like he is his wife’s boss and she literally cannot do ANYTHING if he doesn’t want her to. She literally has to get his permission for everything. But she stays with him. Her choice.🤷🏽♀️
Our oldest son married a JW when he was young. He knew that she was a JW, although not a practicing one. He thought he could change her. We warned him. He didn’t pay attention. Their marriage has produced two beautiful children and they are being raised JW. Our son is an alcoholic and it affects his family, and breaks our heart, too. The JW do not believe in AA, so our son is now saying he is a JW (on Facebook) and not to us personally. He was raised a Christian and was very active in our church while growing up. We think that he is being brainwashed and thinks that only the JW can help him with alcoholism. We do not know for sure. Pray for us, for him, his wife, and his children, please. I beg you. Btw: her mother, her two brothers, and her sister have left the JW and this gives us hope.
Im married to a jw,been married 50 years joined jw in 1963, i woke up to Jesus about 5 years ago. I am faded out of jws,my wife does the jw zoom meetings twice a week for 2 hours and letter writing one hour, i manage to get to christian church 2 or 3 times a month for 30 min communion service, we have a sort of truce . People at church dont really understand why i cant just publicly leave the jw org .they are shocked by the shunning policy . Im 76 my wife 71. Im so happy to have a relationship with the Lord Jesus christ now .my wife and i still do our bible reading together and pray together, i ask the lord often to guide me .when i first woke up it was the night of the memorial,i got to thinking about Jesus and the way he suffered for us .i prayed to jesus to show me if i was right to get out of WT,that night i woke troubled at 3 :16 .on the digital clock .that was my answer .
Keep making articles. You are meeting a real need. God has used this situation to grow you up in the Lord and deepen your faith. Two of my family members became JWs forty years ago and that was what made me realize I needed to study my Bible to be able to rightly handle the Word of truth. What the enemy means for destruction God intends for good. God is so good!
I’m an EXJW of 38 years. I know it hurts that you believe he isn’t saved, but he was taught that you are the one who isn’t saved. JWs do not believe once saved, always saved. You’re both praying for the same thing. You’re both convinced you’re right and the other is wrong and that’s what’s wrong with religion. Rather than focus on the kind of humans you are, and live in the present, you’re both worried about all the wrong things. Also, he married “out of the truth” and that means he married a “worldly girl”. There will always be judgement of you and him from the JWs. JWs actually call themselves Christians also, so you’re really deep into the speaking the same exact language with a different accent. JWs do not believe ANYONE but them are true Christians. If you need a resource, I’m here for you.
My husband was married to me for 11 years and put up with me as a JW raising out 3 kids JW. Bless his heart. I recently found out how “tweaked” we are and decided to leave completely this past Sunday. All I can tell you is that if he married you as a non-JW he is not 100% in. He does have doubts deep down, and there are so many amazing exJW websites here on YT that could help him. I am sooooo sorry, I’m so sorry! I feel your pain just the other way around. Wishing you a lot of patience, hoping your hubby can wake up. It’s deeep indoctrination.
Thank you for making this article. I was trying to find the support group and im hvaing trouble minding it. I am currently dating a JW and i have been learning a lot about his religion and have even gone to a few meetings. Itd be great to be able to talk to you more about and get your advice. I pray to God everyday about our situation. I do want to stay with him and he feels the same way.
Oh my God thank you for doing this article. You are God sent. Today I needed to hear this. I am married to a Jehovah witness for 11 years it has been soooo hard. I have days that I don’t think I can continue like this. But you are right God has been with me I don’t know what would be of me if not for our Heavenly Father.
Thanks for sharing. The good thing is that you have 4 lovely children with a man you love. You should give him some hints in areas he should study in JW doctrine as he need to figure this out himself. You are so strong. I’m not married to a JW but one of my best friend is JW and she would benefit to really study as she is so into it.. hard!
My ex-wife is a JW. She believes and listens more to GB teachings than to me. I think her husband is JW organisation and not me. We cannot talk in good terms. She called me apostate when I shared some errors in GB teachings. The last resort for me to separate from her. Even though, we are divorced. I hope she can see the true colour of GB wrong teachings.
50 years married and 40 of it to A JW. Very long story. My only advice to you is hold tight to your children, pray God’s protection over their minds and hearts. It’s lke I told my husband ” I’m responsible for their spiritual upbringing too.” Don’t let your husband tell otherwise. I’ve been a Christian sense the age of 10. I have 3 daughters, 2 know Christ but one remains a JW. Very hard because now I have 4 of my 8 grandchildren being raised as a JW. The struggle is real. Stay strong! Thanks for sharing! ♥️
I am perusal your articles over and over because this sound so much like my life. The longing, the falling in love when it was “too late” to turn back, the intrigue because he was so knowledge in the word (hours of conversation). My aha moment….I never throughly I was the one to have to ask Jesus for forgiveness because he (husband) has always called me the non believer. Trying to talk religion never has a good outcome for us 😢
I was dating a jw but the relationship was so hard until he decided to breakup with me and met a fellow jw who he married later.. I really did love him but I believe I dodged a bullet because I’m a born again Christian and we always had conflict even in our relationship. Love is not enough to be married to a jw this cult is too controlling and they don’t have limits..
My wife is a pregnant JW, and im studying, 😅 i told her that if she loses blood and it jeopardizes her and my son’s life during labor i will give her blood, because ill be damned to let both die to then watch a governing body update next month and they get new light regarding blood transfusions, she got quiet, with no protest. Also tell the elders you need money in these economic times, and see what happens. No protest. It’s all good in theory but when real life shit happens things get real. She said someone is in trouble for having a gun in their home. I again said so I guess if someone breaks in and assaults you I’m going to stand and watch and call a brother the next day, no I’m protecting you. Again no protest.
I know it’s common for people to talk about “asking Jesus into your heart,” but that’s not Biblically accurate. It’s a form of “Christianese,” which is not Biblically accurate (Scripture doesn’t tell us to do so. It tells us to trust only in Jesus’ sacrifice. It also predictably creates a problem of assurance of salvation because asking Jesus into the heart doesn’t save). It confuses the end with the means. Also, it’s counterproductive with JWs because they are taught NEVER to “invite Jesus into their heart” (or life) because they will get a demon instead. It’s best to present the Gospel by showing from John 3 through the example of the serpent being lifted up that it was a one-time event (which is why Jesus used it as context for 3:16 and it refutes the mistranslated idea of ‘exercising faith’). I know a lot about this because I was raised in a situation where my Christian Dad was married to my fourth-generation JW Mom. Dad just died and now we kids are focused on trying to accurately and simply continue to present the Gospel to my 89 year old mom who has dementia. Blessings.
Melissa, I can tell that you are a lovely person inside and out. I can see the love of God in you. You will win him and help him escape from the Watchtower indoctrination by continually showing him your Christian love. Just be aware that by your Facebook and YouTube, the other members of the cult will really see you as a “”threat to his spirituality “, but The Almighty is on your side. God Bless. Just subscribed.
I am in your shoes. My husband wasn’t a JW when we got married. there is no defending yourself, no changing their minds. Hard is not the word for it. I long for my husband and I to go to the same church, I pray every day that God shows him the right way, we have been together 14 years, he has been a JW for 4 years. good luck it is a struggle. You cant talk to them about JW’s.
when she was a young child, she studied for a small period of time and then stopped for a long time. her grandmother is the one that planted the seed in her, while her mother has never been a witness. i met her 2 years ago, and last year is that she started studying again and “drawing closer.” i, on the other hand, believe in god but am not religious or come from a religious family. we’re in love, but the issue moving forward is that she can “marry only in the lord”. what advice do you have for my situation?
I have had spouses of JWs in my Bible study. I found that making scripture clearer and taking JWs arguements and breaking them down bit by bit is helpful. I believe I helped the woman, maybe, save her marriage ( though I’m still torn if that is a good thing or not). She admitted that i helped to be stronger in her fait . being knowledgeable about scripture and understanding the history of salvation gave her ” ammunition ” to withstand the almost daily struggle she has being married to a JW. I question the reasons any JW would marry outside of their sect. I never could withstand a constant belittling and anger that JWs have toward non believers. Marrying a JW is like doing penance for the rest of your life for the sin of marrying Into JWs.
Oh my, this hit closer to home than any other article about JWs. I’ve been married to a JW for 32 years, and was in the EXACT same boat as you were. I fell in love with my wife, and didn’t really know what JWs believed, but THOUGHT I could show her my belief system and she would just follow. Boy was I mistaken. So much so that I found out I didn’t really know enough about my OWN beliefs; much less able to counter hers. Same thing happened with my folks. My father tried to tell us both how wrong this was, and her family never even tried to talk to me. One thing though, I have apologized to God, and my own father. But the Word does say NOT to put the unbelieving spouse away, because we don’t know what the outcome will be. I wish we could talk face to face. I’m a bit older than you, but everything you said on this article is EXACTLY the same as what I have gone thru in my entire marriage. The blessing I try to look at, is how much closer I’ve drawn to God, and I can honestly say that I KNOW what I believe, and WHY I believe it. Although I have watched thousands of hours of apologetic articles, and can pretty much bury the average JW with REAL Bible Truth, I can only think of ONE JW that turned from their belief system and came to Christ. Maybe there are more, but each day I pray for the opening of the hearts of unbelieving JWs. They are close to my heart because they are mostly good people, but “good” people don’t get saved. I can only call them “good’ as compared to the dredge of this world.
Lets be clear about this: JWs do believe that there is no salvation in anyone else except Jesus (Acts 4:12). Calling them unbelievers, and making these efforts to gather people in opposition to Jehovah is not the best way to go. It does not make up for your own inadequacies, nor does it solve any emotional problems you may have. You have a loving husband who dwells with you in peace, and you have healthy children. Your reasons for joy are abundant. There is no need for war. Nobody seem to be fighting YOU, except YOU.
Hi, i just need guidence, i’m a christian who fell in love with a JW, it’s a special case because he had stopped studying and then we started dating, i am really in love with him but he wanted to study again the bible so we broke up, i really don’t know if we can keep dating, we had talked about getting married but in a future. I am heartbroken because we are really in love but we can’t date. I know studying will make him happy and for that i am happy but it really hurts to not be together. i wanted to go with him to the reunions but i’m not so sure about it, i don’t know what to do.
Thank you so much for making this article. I am 63 year old and Christian (follows the teachings of Jesus Christ, believing in the trinity) deeply in love with a 62 year old man who is JW. We have been friends for 15 years. He’s widowed and so am I. We’re a young 62 and 63 old. We’re not going to get married but that doesn’t take away the love I have for him. I recently found out that he was an actual elder in the JW faith. Mind blown on that one 🤯 I don’t have the energy to go back and forth with him about our faiths. I will need to resolve my feelings about this man and grieve the relationship I thought would eventually end in marriage.
WAIT A SEC.!!! Jehovahs Witnessess ABSOLUTELY BELIEVE IN the Lord Jesus Christ. He is The KING of GODS KINGDOM! He is King ANOINTED BY HIS FATHER AND GOD, JEHOVAH. Listen Folks, heres the deal. The APOSTLE PAUL who was HANDPICKED by Christ himself. Who also wrote 14 books of the Inspired word, (Bible) said unequivocally; BLESSED BE THE FATHER AND “GOD” OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS. So Jesus has a GOD AND THATS WHO JWS WORSHIP!!!!!! So her Husband is SIMPLY WORSHIPPING WHO JESUS WORSHIPS!!!!!! Where as his wife DOES NOT acknowledge GOD AND WORSHIPS THE SON! THATS SIN. GOD DOES NOT SHARE HIS WORSHIP NOT EVEN WITH HIS SON!!! DID THE ISRAELITES (GODS PEOPLE) WORSHIP JESUS? NO. THEY DIDNT EVEN KNOW HIM. SHE IS WRONG. Jesus should be deeply honored and followed because all things are subject to him. But WE ARE ALL SUBJECT (INCLUDING JESUS) TO GOD.
My encouragement to you is let love lead. Think about this…… while we were sinners christ died for us. It’s only by the spirit of God that anyone could come to know christ. I believe God is always saying something concerning our situation and where we fall short is our inability to know the mind of God. One revelation from God concerning your situation will change everything. The wisdom of men will not work so don’t even ask for it. Curse is anyone who put his trust in a man. Go on your knees with prayer and fasting and i believe you will receive a revelation from God that will bring light to your situation. I pray the grace of God will be sufficient for your family. Shalom
I married a ex jw for 21 years. My marriage lasted 22 years prior to his passing and I can honestly say I had the most amazing marriage. I realize I married my husband not his religion. I realize that you have to protect your marriage from outside influences and for us it wasn’t what we asked of each other it was more of what others wanted us to do. I learned being equally yoke was us living in union. We always worship in Christ and now that I look back I’m honor that as a wife I stood my course and I believe that is all anyone can do as a beliver. I say this to say we all fall short and just remember to always show your husband that you love him for him for who God made him and that you are committed to walking beside him as God shows him who he is. Especially in that religion – be blessed
Hi SweetHoneyBee. Just found your vid & website. Great vid and great subject. I’m exjw too and have an exjw website. Yes I escaped the cult and abusive marriage. My ex was not a JW… JW teaching repeatedly quote 1Peter 3 for JW wives when they have an “unbelieving” husband so they (the husband) can be “won over to the faith”. … It never worked in my marriage but anyway, I just wanted to say great job on the article. Please be aware that if your husband has rejoined and is now a practicing JW, they are very heavily indoctrinated when attending all those meetings and within the literature. And JWs speak out publicly in a very negative way from their platforms about “wicked Christendom” which is every christian religion except JWs, at least they did when I used to be a jw. If he is now a practicing jw (or even just a jw believer not practicing) and becomes aware of this public article, it may not go down well with him and his congregation elders. The moment a person speaks out publicly against JWs, the JWs are indoctrinated to believe that that person is an “apostate”. They used to teach an apostate was just somebody who left JWs and spoke out publicly against JWs but not anymore. Every person speaking out publicly is considered “apostate” by the average JW. To a JW, an apostate is viewed as more wicked than the worst criminal. An apostate in the JW religion is described as “sinning against the holy spirit” and will have no place for God’s forgiveness. To a JW and their unbelieving family members, it’s a very serious matter!
Hey Melissa blessings, I was recommended to watch your article when I was looking for a article talking about Jesus being raised in the flesh and Spirit but found more information on another page after googling. However I wanted to make sure your article wasn’t going against him being risen in flesh so was looking at the title of your other articles but this article got my attention because I have some family and friends who also fell into this trap of jw or are ignorantly falling into it. Jesus hand is not too short to reach your husband. I hope this article can bless you. I can’t post a article so I’ll point you to the website and article name (there’s a lot more then a testimony in this article). “Unshakable Kingdom: I was a broken young girl then Jesus changed everything (testimony) If you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out to this brother and sister. Also you mentioned you live in Austin and I know some brothers and sisters who live around the Austin area and also San Antonio area. God bless you and your family in Jesus name
Funny how she thinks that a JW husband married to a “Christian” first would have to accept Jesus. … Does she even KNOW JW doctrine. I would rather see a problem if he wants to leave JWs and their practice of shunning hits them. But maybe her religion / cult does the same. Being a JW is VERY time consuming (several meetings, ministry by preaching the gospel door to door), and if she does not accompagny him to his meetings they cannot even spend that time together. Plus if he takes his cult seriously he will think that she is going to perish during Armageddon, and maybe also the kids … speaking of which – Are they raised in her belief system or in his.
Hi there I feel you you so much my story is pretty much the same but me and my husband got married and then 3 months after a Jehovah’s Witness came to our door and boom got him he was a jehovas witness while he grew up in Jamaica but when he came to the states that all went away but he turned out to be an alcoholic while I was dating him I don’t drink never have it’s a crazy story but he finally got the help he needed got sober and we got married and like I said boom here came the jehovas witnesses 😢so needless to say life has changed BIG time I really have not been in a certain church but all I know is I’ve been reading the Bible here everyday and wow 🤩 sorry for this being so long anyway God Bless you and your family 😊
It is commendable that you both seem to be making the best of your interesting situation and trying to keep your word. (Psalms 15:4b) To give any sense to what you’ve said some questions need to first be answered after a statement is made: When you married your husband perhaps in your youth it was obvious that you were not aware that being raised as a Jehovah’s Witness does not technically mean that a person is a Jehovah’s Witness even though he might be viewed as one by the congregation that he is associated with or his family. Some people who are not Jehovah’s Witnesses that do not understand fully how the organization of Jehovah’s Witnesses is structured. If he were a dedicated baptized Jehovah’s Witness He disobeyed the Scriptural mandate to “marry only in the Lord” which meant that he would have married only another Jehovah’s Witness. Please be advised that sometimes and inactive Jehovah’s Witness or one that has been disfellowshipped may fail to adhere to this Scriptural mandate for the reason that they may be spiritually weak or desirous or independent and are rebelling against this Bible principle of which they may at time disagree. These are obviously questions that you will likely not be inclined to answer; But they may factor into the reason why this injustice was done to you by your dear husband; that he should discerned or help to see was not the best course for you or himself. Was your husband dating you while he was either a baptized or unbaptized Jehovah’s witness growing up in a Witness youth?
You’re in a tough situation but there is hope. He will eventually open his eyes, make him watch the Vice documentary on Jehovah witness it came out last week on 7/28. He will be shock to see what is going on in the organization…is he making you watch the zoom meetings? That’s pure torture right there.
I’m not married to a jw, but I’m married to a immature Christian, and that’s hard too. My husband is very selfish which hurts a lot. I’m always trying to show him the blessing that come with being self sacrificing, but it’s like he believes he needs to look out for himself, he makes me feel very unloved at times. However, the way he is has made me grow closer to jesus, and jesus is more my husband than my physical husband is. And maybe God will cover our husbands through us. The bible says the unbelieving spouse can be sanctified through the believer. I count my husband as an unbeliever because he depends more on his self than God. He knows about God, but he doesn’t trust him with his life.
Let me tell you something sister I left 2018 I’ve been associated with witnesses since 1973 I got married 2016 to witness woman she’s wonderful and I left I wrote my letter of disassociation and I left and we’re still together we have a happy marriage she’s great she knows when she has it good I’m not your normal witness I’m like a rebel witness I did at least as possible and I never hung out with anybody I had my own friends that I had since I was in school that never changed so when I left it was like another day didn’t even mean anything ❤️👍😂
Don’t talk with your husband about doctrine especially the Trinity it only give them conformation that they are right . When I try to talk with them about doctrine I talk about the new covenant ( which they are not part of ) Or Roman’s 8 about being led by the spirit, instead of walking in the flesh, and those who walk in the spirit are All sons of god ( in their theology only 144k are ) So if they are not sons of God how can they walk in the spirit ? Peter would give you this advice : 2 Peter 3:1 In the same way, you wives, be in subjection to your husbands, so that if any are not obedient to the word, they may be won without a word through the conduct of their wives, God bless you sister . Keep your eyes on Jesus ❤
I am married to a roman catholic, so I feel your pain, unbiblical doctrines of the RCC are just as bad, man made and just as dangerous. I like you also love my wife dearly, pray for her daily and read scripture, all she will bear that is, since the rcc only gives small passages to biblically illiterate masses. GOD BLESS YOU, I will pray for your husband–you pray for my wife. Shalom mishpocha.
I grew up as a witness. My dad converted after my parents got married. He forced us kids to be raised as witness and because my women are supposed to be submissive, my mom had no say. My dad dominated the whole house. All I can say is love, respect, communicate, with each other. I can see that it can work with all of this, however stop trying to convert or change each other. You can only do you. Religion can/will cause a wedge if you try to force it on others. You are not responsible to make him change his religion, or to interrogate, or to tear his religion down.
I’m catholic married to a jw for 30 years 4 kids. She was pregnant too when we got married. Figuring out a way through has been extremely hard. I had deep faith but once married lots of struggles in jw world. I agree that jws challenge your faith in all kinds of ways. Too many Christians Cruz through life without refining their faith through fire (spiritually speaking). I envy spiritually united married couples but who take it for granted and get lazy in their faith. The one thing I respect jws for is their zeal and that’s about it. We’re in a bad space now cuz walking on egg shells for 20+ years wears you down. Only takes one slip of frustration in saying the wrong thing and they can shut down.
I just recently married my husband who is a born in baptize JW. He is POMI..He hasn’t been to the hall I’m 20 plus years. I asked if he was going back to the hall and he said he didn’t plan on it…he expressed he didn’t need men who are imperfect themselves telling him what to do. He believes that Jesus is his mediator and I showed him that according to the Watchtower, if he is not apart of the 144,000 Jesus is not his mediator. He said, I dont care what it says, I know what the Bible say. He also celebrate his birthday, decorates the house for Thanksgiving an Christmas. He smokes cigarettes and has a beard. His father is an elder and they were at the wedding. I tired to change him in the beginning, but I stopped because Jesus is gentle and meek…He does not force himself on people. I just started praying for him to be changed…not because I want my husband to go to church with me, but to know the REAL CHRIST and not the made up one the JWs portray Him to be. The Bible tells us that the believer whether it be husband or wife sanctified the unbeliever. Thanks for the article Here is something to read on how sanctification works for the unbelieving spouse google.com/amp/s/allelouscg.com/2020/02/24/18-what-does-it-mean-when-paul-says-that-the-unbeliever-is-sanctified-by-a-christian-spouse-in-1-corinthians-714/amp/
I am a comparative religions researcher and a Christian. I have collected the Watchtowers material going back to the days of Charles Taze Russell and looking at the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society’, there is overwhelming and solid prophetic failure claims concerning the end of the world. I have learned this about the Society, they claim to be God’s website of communication here on earth, they claim to be the faithful and discreet slave, and they have claimed to be a prophet. As I said their prophecies have a proven track record of 100% failure and then the leadership turned around and blamed it on the rank and file JW’s for getting their hopes up too high! So my question to JW’s is this: If the Watchtower Society is a false prophet, why should you believe the doctrines of a false prophet?
I’m really sorry for what your going through. Your husband is in a very highly controlled religion. I was baptized at 14 and left when I was 33. First my exit was due to sin I was disfellowshipped. But it wasn’t until I stepped away and had my whole family stripped from me, my three sisters, both my parents and aunts and uncles and the only friends I had that I was able to have clarity of thought. I was no longer being controlled and was free to think for myself. I can tell you from experience that they do not have a personal relationship with God. They are told what to believe and wait for the direction of their Governing Body to tell them what to believe on a matter. It’s really sad because most of them are very kind hearted people. As I’m sure your husband is, being that you fell in love with him. I hope you guys can work through this and while we are hoping I hope he wakes up for the sake of his family. Please do not let Jw religion have anymore hold on your life. Sending you Christian love.
No religion allows for thinking for yourself. Not yours not his. Religion causes social problems. According to the Bible Jesus didn’t have or taught a religion. He taught love of your fellow man, even if your fellow man had a difference of opinions or thoughts. I believe that as long as your a decent wholesome human being, your good to go. Religion separates mankind. They each think they are the only right one. So if your husband is a good husband and father why do you want to get rid of him. There’s something called working it out. Especially for your children’s sake. It’s devastating for children who go through divorce.
Because both spouses are Jehovah Witnesses doesn’t mean there aren’t serious problems in a marriage. I use myself as an example. Husband and I both are Jehovah’s Witnesses and we’re on the brink of wanting to separate. Me a long time ago. Yes, the scripture is correct about being unequally yoked. However if the scriptures aren’t being applied, then your marriage will not work. Husband and I had a talk today about putting an end to all the arguing. Apply the tools from the Bible.
I feel for you but you should have known better. It’s like marrying an alcoholic. I started writing this before you said that you parents warned you. I was going to say, “I bet your parents warned you”. Well, you can’t reverse the clock. I wish you the best. I couldn’t do it. I’m not as patient as you. God forgive me & God give you strength.
I am a Christ loving Christian my husband was raised JW he has never been a JW but he hates Christians with a passion as they are taught to. I met him in high school we are high school sweethearts I was raised in a Christian church believers of the Trinity loving Christ as our Lord and savior. I didn’t accept Christ in my life until about three years ago.
When you say regarding marrying a Jehovahs witness dont marry him until he has accepted Jesus into his heart I am just a Curch of England guy in the uk . Over the years I have known about 10 different Jehovas witnesses and one thing I could never think is that they do not accept Jesus . I have been to at 30 different meetings with them mostly to just see how it works and goes in the Kingdom Hall . It is Jehovah god and his only son, Jesus Christ our savior all the way through
I’ve been studying attending meetings for many many years and I love Jehovah god and Jesus and his word the bible love my life of serving Jehovah. Nicest thing I can say to all my Jehovah’s witness sisters is I’ve never thought any of the brothers were attractive especially the married brothers. I’m serious whole time I’ve attended meetings and still to this day and I’m happy single but I love respect all my brothers sisters but I’m just not attracted to any of the brothers or any men attend meeting s but I really really appreciate what the brothers sisters teach me most important that’s my purpose I’m doing this for Jehovah god and to try to work out my salvation inherit gods promises and help others work out their salvation inherit gods promises I’m not doing this for a husband I don’t want no husband but even if they were single not my type never will be .I really believe their wife’s are only ones think they are but that is a real good thing to know that the most up building words I can say to my sister’s encourage keep up good work serving god and taking care of your families great job because the couples in our congregation have been together since I first started meetings and all these years later over 7 years still together strong marriages strong spiritual family I just got to say good job
I’m was baptised as a jw for 22 years and left, and also got baptised as a christian I was born again, yes I was really “saved” but I left both religions. I know you feel like your husband Is not saved but this is the very reason why I left religion. It divides good people who all think they have “the truth” whether Christian, Muslim, Hindu etc. My advise to you is just to love your husband and stop worrying about him being saved. It sounds like you have a good marriage despite the division in faith. Just don’t let it get in the way and you’ll be OK. Neither of you are right the world is full of good people who don’t know anything about Jesus. It’s not important. All that’s important is that your a good person. All religions teach to love each other and have a version of the golden rule. Whatever happens when we die is not dependant on loving Jesus and being saved. Otherwise billions of people are doomed. Yes have your faith and let your husband have his faith. But don’t let it ruin your marriage. I hope you can both find peace and realise that the world is bigger than Christianity. Sending you both love ❤
Maybe I missed it, but how are your 4 kids religion wise in this situation? Both of my parents were JW’s when I was a kid and my dad was under lots of pressure to bring us to the Kingdom Hall more. My mom didn’t like going, because of all those meetings had nothing positive going on. Those Watchtower magazines are depressing and the talks they give caused her anxiety. My dad tried taking my sister and myself to meetings without my mom and younger brother, and they reamed him for it. He was considered the spiritual head of the household and had a responsibility to bring his whole family to all the meetings. They took him aside and counseled him . After that my parents moved us 7 hours away to fade out . My dad more than 3 decades after leaving still is heavily indoctrinated and almost bleed to death. The older your kid’s get he will want to indoctrinate them. He won’t want them to die at Armageddon. They will pressure him to bring your kid’s to meetings . You need to do more research.
Hello Melissa! JW’s don’t pray to Jesus because they believe they are praying directly to his father who is God. They are only able to do this due to the sacrifice which Jesus made to atone for the sin of Adam. So in all of their prayers, they say ‘i say this prayer through the sacrifice of Jesus’. I remember they used to say that while on earth Jesus prayed to his god, and thats who they believe they are praying to too! In your own religion, do you pray to Jesus or God? My nana was a JW and my grandad was’nt. I’m sure she had him tortured!
very similar story she told me she was pregnant so we got married but months later I found out she was not pregnant. The only good thing that came from the marriage was three beautiful children. We divorced 12 years later I had the pleasure of raising all three of my children, not as Jehovah’s Witnesses. It’s unfortunate, but she was never a part of their life. They are all good people.
I was born in Jehovah’s Witness. I left the cult at 14 years old at 18 years old I was at a black sabbath concert. I met this girl there we ended up, leaving the concert together and going to her house. We slept together. I had only known her a matter of hours the next morning while at her house, I noticed watchtowers and wakes and JW literature everywhere I got talking to her. She told me she was baptized JW I did not tell her for about a week that I was born HW I wasted 12 years of my life with that person, it never did work. It was a very bizarre situation looking back on it now.
She prays to god to help her husband ? worship Jesus ?? Find the mistake ! (and does not even realize that JWs also acknowledge that Jesus sacrificed himself on behalf of sinful mankind. I disagree with the whole concept, but this is what JWs believe and all other Christian religions / cults believe. And that Jesus sacrificed himself obeying gods orders. In the Catholic church, the Protestant churches, in her church …. Jesus is very important – and god is above him. Again doctrine not my opinion. I happen to know a lot of JW doctrine as well (knew people well that are / were JWs) never was one myself – I have never heard Jesus be described as an angel or archangel (Michael or other). Maybe that is a detail that I missed – think of it like: what did Jesus and also Satan do before they god involved with earth ? Well Satan was an angel very high up in the hierarchy until his rebellion (and then misleading Adam and Eve). As for Jesus he is not really talked about before he showed up in form of a human baby. He is the son of god – but then one could argue all angels are creatures of god (and even Adam). I think she totally misses the point of JW doctrine when she obsesses about the idea which kind of angel Jesus was before he was sent to earth (as per doctrine). Technically speaking he might not even have existed before (I think most Christians implictely assume that he was a high ranking spiritual being that manifested itself in human form (a zygote / embryo / fetus / infant).
I am nearly 60 years old and this is the first time (and i think the last time) i say to a woman: STAY STRONG! Never, never, never let him make you a JW! JW always and constantly bring you to the point: decide for me (JW) or „die”. They FORCE YOU to decide between them and Christ. The day will come, when he will force you! STAY STRONG! I know you are strong because a woman (person) who can stand a bible discussion with JW are really, really, strong. Ephesians 3:16 Colossians 1:11 2 Thessalonians 2:17 Greetings🥰🥰🥰😇
JW’s are in a high control group so even if he leaves WT he may not be an atheist but he may not want to be in another religion either. If your aim is to convert him that will be failure but you may be able to show him the underlying issues within the WT org snd he remaining in is saying he condones what is happening. But even if he gets out of jw he may not want to go to yours or any church. Will you accept that or respect that or are you gonna be dogmatic like jws who won’t stop till they convert you? I know I sure don’t want any body (pastor, preacher.etc) telling me how to live my life again. And I believe in God and Jesus.
Oh and what I can tell you is to watch exJW CRITICAL thought. They have some really great questions to ask him that will make him go 🤔 hmm?!! Just do it gently, not forced or mean. Plant your seeds for him to research cus we are taught to research peoples questions. Just be PREPARED! And DO NOT PUSH bc they teach us that we are undergoing “persecution” … sending you love.
First of all, it is very beautiful how you acknowledge that you disobeyed your earthly and heavenly father and that you were young and also new in the faith. Do not give up, with this article now you will have so many people praying for you. Know that you have the truth, Jehovah witnesses do NOT have a personal experience with our Lord Jesus Christ. Educate yourself on how to rebuttal their false doctrines and seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit because it is not just on refuting their doctrines but God must open their eyes otherwise tbey won’t take the rebuttals to heart, they jist shit their minds and hearts to the err which is so sad.
You have nothing to appoligize for.You are acturly lucky that you married him, because they are taught to be very humble, honest and provideing, and loveing. If he is not any of that he should not be one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Its part of what they belive and there are millions all arround the world.God is our judge, not man or woman.God wants us all to love each other,Religon should not come between married couples. Its love that holds them together no matter what ….From NewZealand.
Michael Ar Angel is not Jesus in Isaiah 12:1 becz Michail is comming only people those were know Daniel predicted in Daniel 7:25 He think to change time and LOW. And those people who were not under New Low…But Jesus is comming for all people ( Gentiles) for who were under New Low. Is it Possible…?
What about this end time prophecy that can ONLY be fulfilled by disfellowshipped Jehovah’s Witnesses: . Isaiah 66:5 Hear the word of Jehovah, YOU men who are trembling at his word: “YOUR brothers that are hating YOU, that are excluding YOU by reason of my name, said, ‘May Jehovah be glorified!’ He must also appear with rejoicing on YOUR part, and they are the ones that will be put to shame.” . (Name of person) is no longer one of JEHOVAH’s Witnesses —-> excluding YOU by reason of MY NAME . What Jehovah said would happen, is really happening! . .
1:47 (to about 1:53) Clear Indication of Cognitive Dissonance. I personally am an atheist who views the world from a naturalist perspective, so if you want to discredit my opinion because of that, I understand. However, as a fellow survivor of JW’s I have seen cognitive dissonance all my life. Where deep down we understand something doesn’t make sense, but we chose to ignore it or not think too hard about it because we’re scared of losing our beliefs. Its totally normal and everyone does it. Thought stopping techniques like the one in the time stamp are common among religious believers. I know because I used them SO many times. I’m not trying to be rude, or mean. I just noticed that you intentionally stopped yourself from thinking critically about God and “his plan” for you as soon you noticed an apparent contradiction in your worldview. Now while the thought stopping technique is evident, I can only assume what caused it. But heres my guess in the form of the logical syllogism you likely had floating in your brain. 1. Gods plan for us as humans is for our own good. 2. Due to the reasons that you stated (unevenly yoked, against gods recommendations, etc) your current situation isn’t for your own good 3. Thus your current situation can’t be apart of gods plan for you However a common Christian teaching is that everything that happens IS always apart of Gods plan. Which contradicts with what you logically concluded. Now, for the record, I don’t doubt that you are happy in your marriage.
Your husband per the organization was disobedient in Marrying you, how was he and the organization allowing this? Again pre marital sex, mmmm the both of you were out of order. So you were disobedient to so many authorities, your so disodence in actions, thoughts, and behaviors. I don’t know if I want to follow any of your advice, this is very confusing. The phrase I hear from you is I want, your still disobedient.
Try to understand his beliefs as he should yours and come together there, he does believe in Jesus but as the Son and not God so they prey to God through Jesus and the spirit is the driving force for his worship. It’s non belief of your belief and he can say the same but understand that at the end spirituality the goal is the same of everlasting life and salvation!!!
JWs believe the same thing about not marrying a non-believer. And he and they also believe he is paying the price of his disobeying god by marrying you. And they are all thinking you are not saved and hope you can come to the truth about God and be saved, All the reasoning and scriptures you are using, the JWs and your husband are as well.
❤ Thanks for your article. Yes you’re loved by God the Father and nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus. Yes it’s light and darkness. ❤Yes The Jehovah’s Witnesses Are antichrist and enemies of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ We pray that the spirit of blindness be lifted from your husband. Learn that you’re already forgiven and saved forevermore and who you are in Christ Jesus.. ❤ Learn scriptures that show Jesus as the only God. Jehovah’s Witnesses And the real Jesus. I’ve subscribed to your YouTube website
You are viewed as lowly to the Jehovah’s Witnesses and surely your husband has been made to think he should’ve married a JW and he may feel regret. I believe mixed-religious households are horrifying and I, personally, hope there’s a day where everyone can leave behind the religious dogma. However, if you and your husband can leave the religion-talk behind and solely focus on each other and what you love about each other. Keep the religion talk to a minimum and keep it secular.
Don’t give up. If you’re husband was willing to marry a non-Witness, I feel you have somewhat of an advantage. I say that because I married someone outside the faith. I’m now currently trying to sow seeds into my adult JW daughter. The only thing that I found that works, are things that affect her personally, in her case the flack she’s gotten from dating someone who although being raised “in the truth” is not yet baptized, so she’s being soft shunned. I couldn’t break through to her talking about doctrinal errors, such as the teaching that Jesus is Michael the Archangel or the fallacies of their end of the world date predictions. Try something personal to make him think. Someone did that to me, and I’m forever grateful for them.
Just wondering. If you try and have a Biblical conversation with your husband, does he get defensive and angry when you present something you see as clearly defined in the text, but he can’t, because the WT tells him otherwise? I find my wife getting immediately defensive when I recite a VERSE of the Bible. She will tell me, “Well, that’s your interpretation”. I ask her, “How is that my ‘interpretation’, when all I did was READ it?” Silence….
Jehova witnesses follow on YHWH GOD and on Jessus Christ as well, just compare their all actions for Jehova with the others actions of others religions followers, and you will see how much they working together for Jehova buy spreading Jehova Holly Bible in this world than others religions which don’t do nothing to serve on Jehova like them😊😊😊😊
Please stop acting like you committed some mortal sin. And stop calling him an unbeliever. That’s a derogatory term. His relationship with God is personal. It’s up to God to decide if his worship is acceptable, frankly it’s not you. Hes not a Muslim, he is in a religion that’s an offshoot of Christianity. I think it’s a cult but that doesn’t mean he’s not saved.
J.W’s do talk to Jesus they end every prayer through Jesus. You cannot approach God unless you go through Jesus as Jesus is God’s son. Jesus only got his earthly name when he came to earth. He was with God from beginning of creation at Michael the Archangel, his name changed when he came earth. In the bible in black and white no secret there
Your husband and Jesus worships the Father. Rev 3:12 says “…I will write upon him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the New Jerusalem that descends out of heaven from my God, and my own new name.”\r \r The name of Jesus’ God is not Jesus.\r \r The trinity is a 4th century apostasy.\r Would Jesus leave it to corrupt manuscripts that were corrupted centuries after his death to teach the nature of God had changed into a trinity?\r Would Jesus leave it to false reasoning to support a triune god that the Jews have never known?\r Why has the Jews never worshiped a trinity?\r Did the Jews worship the wrong God for thousands of years?\r If you studied the bible with a Jehovah’s Witness you will find the bible does not support a trinity.
What does the Bible say about someone married to an unbeliever? 1 Peter 3:1 “Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives.” By discussing your husband like this you’re really not following this counsel. You’re being very disrespectful. You choose your head, it’s not the end of the world. You have 4 kids, he’s a good husband. You are blessed. You can’t have everything in life. The Bible doesn’t say to use words to try to change your husband. It doesn’t say tell him to “talk to Jesus” . It says let your actions speak.
Interesting 🧐….Went to my first kingdom hall meeting. Lol the singing is awful. Reminds me of the scripture, The holy spirit has puked himself out🤮 there’s no way the holy spirit indwels in such bad singing. Anyway, I’m divorced, ex came home 10 years ago… and required a divorce. I was blindsided. Turns out she had another man ready to marry. 8 months later from telling me she wanted a divorce she was remarry to a already divorced man. So yeah… here I am knowing what the Bible says about divorce and remarriage… so it’s not for me… saved myself for marriage.. we both did… so now I have to save myself till death is the only way to part. So yes…. life is .. unfair…. life ..is hard… God ..is .. closer to the broken hearted 💔
JWS are believers of Jesus Christ our savior. They know to reach to Jehovah is through Jesus Christ our savior. They are Christians. They just don’t believe in a trinity. Jesus wouldn’t be speaking to himself calling himself father. It’s just like a person who is Baptist, protestant, seventh Adventist,Buddhist, catholic etc. If they have been raised in such religion what makes you think you can change their views so quickly if that is all that they have learned. Instead of being hateful like Satan wants embrace it. Be considerate to each others beliefs. If not leave the marriage move on and find someone who believes the samething. Don’t feel pity for yourself . You have the choice to change your life and lifestyle. You should be blessed and happy that God gave you a very spiritual husband and for your kids. That’s what Satan wants is for families to part over religion he is the creator of lies. In the end all Christians will need to join together stop fighting over non sense.
