Can You Watch Corpse Bride On Disney Plus?

I was obsessed with this movie after watched it in July 2015. I don’t know why but I watched it daily until end of 2015. The movie was in middle of my brain by 2 years. I was 16 years old. Now 23 years old and still listening to it’s musics. By the way, my first music that I listened to was this movie’s soundtrack. I miss that year too much

GOSH, I LOVE this plot. A movie, about a Living man, who is getting married, gets ‘cold feet’, and is dragged into the living dead by a corpse. And when he FINALLY agrees to Marry her, and drink POISON, to be with her, she agrees to let him go, so he can be HAPPY with the living woman, of couse. 👻☠️

Que final más triste…. hubiera querido que victor y emily terminen juntos porque se llevaron bien y se entendían bastante… igualmente era injusto para victoria no casarse con victor…en resumen…no acepto la idea de que emily fue feliz al final porque no lo termina siendo según mi punto de vista…es el mejor personaje de la película y encima fue la que peor la terminó pasando…pobre emily…

2021 I’m 13 and I just watched it I’m a very emotional person cried for an hour and started looking up if victor loved Emily and how old she was when she died and I cried a lot she was 19 and just wanted to be a bride and victor loved her he even said it “about a timid young mad and the love of his life” the main characters are victor and Emily I think I don’t know but I wanted Emily and victor together she was so in love

I feel like SO many people underrate Victoria. Yes, I get it, Emily is amazing and she deserved so much more than she ever got. But Victoria, I am convinced, is just as amazing in her own right: only she doesn’t get as much screen time and character development, because it isn’t her story. The glimpses we do get are enough to show that she is not the boring, generic nobody that most people seem to take her for.

my favourite scene, is when the dead go up, and the living are scared until that little boy says “Grandpa” and it becomes a massive family reunion. also, the bit where the old woman, is yelling at the skeleton, until he, with a smile on his face, makes her realise that he’s her late husband, who clearly died young and has missed his wife in the living world. i always imagine, that when she did pass on, he was waiting for her, to take her arm, and they could enjoy the underworld together

As a kid I didn’t like Victoria but now as an adult I realize Victoria is wonderful. She’s nice, caring and didn’t mind how clumsy Victor was. Emily and Victor were perfect too but Emily was more in love with the idea of it. The fact Victor would have had to die to be with her was wrong as well. In the end everything turned out for the best.

I used to want Victor to end up with Emily instead of Victoria, but everyone involved would have been completely miserable. Victor would have had to die to be with Emily, while she would feel guilty about having him die for her. Meanwhile, Victoria would be forced into an unhappy marriage with Barkis.

It’s funny to hear Alex say those things about Victor because as a girl, I would love to be with someone like Victor. He lied to Emily because he didn’t want to hurt her feelings, not because he was a coward. He is very empathetic and cute and kind and he tries to do the right thing. Idk I think he’s pretty great haha.

I was 7 years old when this came out and I absolutely loved it, I rewatched it whenever I could. BUT at the same time it terrified me so I always insisted an adult was with me 😭 I remember, on more than one occasion, shaking my poor bone-tired single mother awake so that I wouldn’t be alone while perusal 😅

there was a really popular fan theory a while back, that Emily and Victoria were sisters Emily the elder sister, fell in love with Barkis and took the money when he killed Emily, and Victoria was born several months after the death. the ages isn’t mentioned but say it’s a good 15-20 years between the pair so when Barkis returned, he made a beeline for the estate, but there was no money left, because he was the one who stole it.

I remember being SHOCKED that Victor didn’t end up with Emily because that was just the trope. Get into an arranged marriage, find a partner you actually love, end up with them and not in the arranged one. I mean the movie is named after her!! How could he NOT love her?! My child brain was blown lmao

Corpse Bride was my favorite movie when it came out, and it still is. I’m perusal your review with the biggest grin realizing ‘Yeah, I DEFINITELY was the weirdo kid in school’, cause I was ‘9 year-old Susie’, except I was actually 7. Honestly, great article, having this movie that’s means so much to me looked at without the rose-tinted glasses and seeing how absurd it is was great, and gave me a change to laugh at it and myself for a minute.

I love the corpse bride. I have watched it recently as well. I was waiting for you to make a article on it since Coraline. Since I recently watched it in the near past,when I saw the scene where Victoria’s mom tells her that she is now to be married to the new arrival in town, and Victoria says “But I don’t love him” I heard your, Alex, voice in my head saying “it literally took you two seconds to fall in love with Victor whom you didn’t want to marry in the first place”

-Something that I was able to take note of as I was re-watching the film again as an adult, was that in the theatrical cut of the film, it is never really explained why Emily knew of Victor’s first name when they were never formally introduced when Emily was alive. However, in the original unedited screenplay which you can find online; there is a specific scene in which Victor is attempting to pursuade Emily to take him back to the land of the living under false pretenses (in a manner that is also highly remiscent of the final cut of the film) with the exception that she does eventually meet Mr. and Mrs. Van Dort and she seems to be instantaneously well-beloved by them and they do not seem to react adversely to her physical appearance either; as she explains that she was the late daughter and heiress to the “Merrimack” Family fortune and the Van Dorts reply that they are very fond of her parents and that they were good people. In an extended cut of the original scene, Emily also has a conversation with Victor in which she explains that she has been perusal over him as his Guardian Angel in the woods whenever he would seek to have a moment of clarity or find solace in sketching; ever since she died and Victor reacts in a manner that would be considered to be highly uncharacteristic of him in comparison to the final cut of the film, as he feels “strangely touched” by her earnestness and compassion. Therefore, cannonically, her surname would be “Merrimack”, which bears several connotations.

Stop motion movies got that special something that just makes them nightmare fuel, coraline gave every person who saw it as a kid (that i know at least) nightmares and no matter how fun and cute kubo is, its still terrifying (the aunts still freak me out) stop motion movies are just amazing and corpse bride is one of the best (it used mechanics and robots in it to make the film smoother and it looks so good, especially for 2005)

There is really interesting contrast in this movie between the two land – living and dead. The land of the living is suppose to be set in Victorian era and everything is grey, quiet, sad and stiff. On the other hand the land of the dead is colourful, lively, loud and full of music. It’s suppose to show that sometimes the people that are alive are are not really living. I always found that is something to think about. Also you didn’t talk about the most funny part for me when the dead enter the land of the living and everyone is scared of them and then one dead guy picks up a little boy and he says: “granpa?” and everyone recognizes their loved ones and they join the party 😀

I laughed at the “life sucks, death is better” jokes but that was something that helped me deal with death actually. Showing the butler (whos name i cant spell, sorry) died and in the afterlife he could finaly breathe shows that death might be escape from so much pain. It always reminds me of my grandpa who was in horrible pain before he succumbed to cancer. With this movie on mind, it always somewhat comforted me that once he died, he suffered no longer. Its one of my favorite childhood movies also, i remember being scared at parts but i fell in love with it and watched it with my siblings. In short, i am very fond of this movie. Aside from being gorgeously animated with great music and surprisingly huge names in the cast

I remember when it premiered in the cinema and I was too young to go to the cinema on my own, so I was there with my dad. I was completely happy during the screening and afterward my dad said that it was terrible and that he would never go to the cinema with me again and from now on I was old enough to go alone. 4 years earlier, the same thing happened to me from my mother and grandmother at the premiere of Spirit Away (my parents are divorced).

This movie horrified me more than most others as a kid. The way this man was forced into marriage, the look of the almost-in-laws it was always scarier than Coraline or the Little Vampire or anything, and the awakening of the corpse bride just all nightmare fuel. The real life was scarier than the afterlife. Finally Victor and Victoria naming of it all was so much. Also poor Emily…I didn’t realize how much she went through when I was younger, I just figured she was spooky and that the poor man was forced to marry her but now that I’m older I just think Victor kinda sucks

You completly missed the Point about their parents. Victoria’s parents are Noble with the title, but have no Fortunei left so they are Noble blood but poor, while Victor’s parents are exactly the oposite – they come from no name and commoner background but rised to moeny via their own bussiness. Her family is the good name and title while his family is the New money. None of the families are pretending, they are both aware of what each bring and they actually each have what the other one is missing, thus the reason of this marriage union in the first place

The 1st time I watched this movie in theaters I cried in the end.😭💔Poor Emily,I feel so bad for her…!🥺💙 Also,I was a bit disappointed with the songs at first,compared to the ones from”Nightmare Before Christmas”but eventually I started to love them almost as much. 01:52 – 02:00 I don’t know if you were joking,but just in case…Victor’s parents are rich but they’re fishermen,Victoria’s parents are nobles,but poor. I remember perusal this movie because little me was like, “Victor? Dead body? Ooh, Victor Frankenstein!” And the fact that tiny me idolized Victor and Jekyll of course meant that I had to watch it. My father let me watch it when my mother had gone shopping, and I actually really enjoyed it, though I was disappointed by the lack of… you know. The Victor I thought he was. Though looking back on it, this Victor feels closer to the book Victor Frankenstein than most adaptations of the character. Which is… kind of funny in a sad way.

One of my favorite movies of all time ! Victor Van Dort is still the man of my dreams, and I dress as Emily for almost every Hallowenn (even though we don’t celebrate it much in my country). Tim Burton movies shaped my personality, and I thank him everyday for turning me into the goth kid in school when I was younger.

This and nightmare before Christmas are my favorite Tim burton movies but I think this is my personal favorite. It’s a terrifying romance with an interesting premise and Emily is the best character in this entire movie. Helena Bonham Carter is so skilled at her performances and kills it as the corpse bride

There are some folk stories that inspired this. In one the protagonist sort of stays with the corpse bride, agreeing to visit her on a regular schedule if he gets to remain mainly with the wife he loves. Extremely condensed, but iirc corpse bride begins to feel guilty and lets him go after he and his living wife have children

I used to watch this movie AT LEAST once a day when I was like 3. I knew every word to the skeleton song and would sing it around my house. I haven’t seen it in a while tho. It’s so funny to think of little me perusal this and loving it so much. I also watched frankenweenie at my grandmas when I was like 6. I was very into the creepy stop motion stuff for a while. James and the giant peach and coraline freaked me out tho lol. Idk why I’m even writing all of this. Was anyone else into this weird stuff?
