Candle wedding centerpieces are timeless and elegant, adding romance and sophistication to any tablescape. They can be a modern take on traditional centerpieces, such as drizzy white tapers with pewter holders. For longer rectangular tables, running candlesticks down the center can be eyecatching and add height without obstructing guests. To make a simple centerpiece look complex, mix white and red together. Using a variety of textures adds interest to a tablescape, as seen in a modern fall wedding in Charleston. To create a chic and modern look, mix and match taper candles in varying shades of blue or another color in your wedding palette. Greenery, also known as nature’s neutral, adds a fresh, organic pop of texture to any color scheme or wedding style. Acrylic taper candle holders and 5 arms candelabra centerpieces are also great options for Christmas wedding dinner table decoration. Tall candles, like pillar candles or taper candles, work well with rectangular reception tables.

What is the most popular form of centerpiece for weddings?
The traditional centerpiece is a floral arrangement. Fresh blooms on the table say “wedding.” Think about your venue when choosing the size of your arrangements, says event designer Jove Meyer of Jove Meyer Events. Tall arrangements work well in large spaces with high ceilings. The height of the flowers draws the eye up and helps create volume in a massive venue. Short arrangements let guests interact at the table. Guests can see and talk to each other from across the table. Wide arrangements look great on large round tables. Narrow arrangements, like garlands and low planters, look best on long, farm-style tables. “Use your space, don’t fight it,” says Meyer. “The bigger the centerpiece, the more it costs.” Flowers are just one part of a centerpiece. The container you put the stems in matters too. Vessels add detail to your centerpiece. Use the colors, style, and materials of the vessels to match the event. Use wildflowers in camping mugs for your glamping wedding. Go for it. You can mix and match different types of vases and planters. Also, think about the size of your flowers on the table. Meyer suggests placing tall arrangements in transparent vessels so guests can see each other. For lower centerpieces, anything goes. “You can use glass, metal, or wood because they don’t block the view,” Meyer says.
Garlands and loose leaves are a refined way to dress a table, especially if you have long tables. The greenery can go all the way around the table, and the low height lets guests chat. Greenery looks lush without costing a lot. Greenery isn’t cheap. “Garlands are expensive because they take a lot of work to make,” says Aimee Monihan of Tropical Occasions. “If a couple loves the garland look but has budget concerns, loose leaves is the way to go.”

How to make your own table centerpiece for a wedding?
DIY Wedding Decorations for Tables. Logs & Crates. Rustic weddings have been popular for at least five years. We like rustic decorations because they look great. A rustic table centerpiece usually includes logs, crates, jam jars, twine, ribbons, and a few plant pots. It’s easy and cheap to combine them all. Take log stump chargers, for example. You can get them for pennies or even free. Add plain hurricane lamps and candles, adorn with fallen leaves or other foliage, and you’ve got beautiful wedding decor at the fraction of the cost. Crates are another valuable prop. Stack up jam jars for height and use them to collect blooms after the wedding. Or, pot up smaller plants in pots. They look cute and can double as wedding favors.
Candles & Candelabras. This trend is tricky to get right, but when done right, it looks great! Candelabras can be tricky to size right. They should be big enough to be seen, but not so big that guests on opposite sides of the table can’t see under them. If you get the size right, you’re good to go! I love candles. The light they give off is romantic. I lit lots on my wedding day. This style looks best in multiples, especially when the candles are the same color as the flowers. Look at the candlesticks. You don’t have to spend a lot on them. Many are in charity shops and car boots for very little. Look out for unusual shapes or those with a beautiful patina. Don’t forget to blow out any that are still burning. Glass bottles. Milk bottles, medicine bottles, old jam jars, and beer bottles. This type of arrangement looks stylish and is affordable. Blue and green bottles, especially old medicine bottles, are popular again. Their muted tones are perfect for soft blooms and lush foliage. This look is simple: pop a flower head or branch and foliage into a bottle. Use different-shaped and -sized vessels to create a single centerpiece. Use a limited color palette of coral or green shades to create a more intense display. Keep things loose and organic. Be unconventional. I love using foliage in clear bottles. It’s elegant and chic, and it won’t break the bank. Buy extra bottles. You don’t have to use them all, but it’s good to have spares. Add a flag, table number, candles, or pineapple for a quirky touch.

Really amazing looks, you have inspired me! I’m moving soon and will be using some of your ideas. That mirror with the gems gives me a great idea for a wall decoration for my bedroom. I hope I can find those diamond gems at my Dollar store because they seem to be out of them. Thanks so much for sharing!
What gorgeous pieces you create! You are so creative, your pieces are so high end & I can’t wait to try some of them if I can find everything. I think our nearest Dollar Tree is about 2 hours away, unfortunately, but it will definitely be worth the trip. I never knew there were products like the ‘diamond’ strips, silver looking glass paint, even glitter like you use. I’m just starting to walk in healing after 30 plus years, was mostly bed ridden or home bound & I missed a lot. I’m loving all the DIY, craft & dupe articles I’ve only recently found. Love listening to your lovely, smooth voice. I have to go back in my history today & get the info on the book you put out. Very talented, great job, thanks for all the fantastic looks to try! Lynda
Hope you’re coming back we missed you. For anyone interested very affordable faceted glass crystals ., NOT acrylic is available from some Polish sellers on EBay. Where have you been all my life?? This is your first article that I’ve seen. I hope there are a lot more that I can go back to and watch. I immediately subscribed to your website, and hit the notifications for all. I realize that ever since Joanna Gaines hit the scene, EVERYONE seems to be into rustic farmhouse. Well some of us girls are die-hard, glitz and glam, blingy, girly-girls until we die. It’s been difficult finding articles that not only exhibit the style that I like, but look extremely high end. Everything that you’ve done here, I would proudly have used as centerpieces for any high end, black tie event. That being said, your delivery is very professional. Your explanations and directions would be easy to follow for the newest of crafters, yet you don’t speak down to someone who has experience. I was especially impressed with the diagrams that you had shown off to the side of the instructions. I have watched numerous articles online, and even if I am interested in what someone is creating, if they aren’t poised, as you obviously are at hosting, I have difficulty perusal. Besides, just because someone puts bling on something, it doesn’t make it classy. You have a new superfan. Thank you for sharing your talent and extraordinary sense of style.
