Gabby Petito, a 22-year-old travel influencer, and her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, were reportedly perfectly-matched. The full autopsy results will be released by Dr. Brent Blue, who will include the time and cause of Gabby’s death.

I remember when that footage was first released, I immediately felt uncomfortable and knew something was very wrong. The way that she was so upset and he was completely calm and being buddy-buddy with the cops made it very clear to me that she had been provoked. It’s reactive abuse. And she knew he wasn’t innocent, but didn’t want to get him in trouble because she knew that would ultimately just make things worse. It’s so heartbreaking to watch this now after knowing how everything turned out. 😞
when they interrogated gabby it actually made me cry you can see how much he manipulated her and how she was scared of him getting introuble bc he gets aggressive towards her . poor girl may she rest in paradise i wish things went different for her and i wish she had more justice but he got the easy way out. i was in a abusive relationship before, it honestly feels hopeless to try to leave once they gaslight and manipulate u sm and control u . love u gabby
So I searched for updates and apparently Brian admitted to his crime which was written inside the notebook that was found alongside his other belongings. Curiously, the FBI didn’t really specify the contents of the notebook. Also, the autopsy showed that he died with a “gunshot wound to the head”. Still, I feel like this case is not yet solved and there’s more to it than what was found so far. His death looks & feels so staged but then again I read and watch too many detective stories so that might just be my mind fantasizing lol.
She was scared he would leave her stranded,he obviously did something to make her feel like he would. Maybe threatening to leave her multiple times or maybe even did but went back to get her. She seemed hostile most of the time like in every article her vibes seemed off like she was crying or had an argument before turning the camera on. 😣 I feel so bad for her
Those officers f-d up by not getting her somewhere actually safe to talk. You cannot do this in earshot of the other party. They should have asked them to come along to the station, gotten her some water and a quiet room and maybe a female officer to interview her. These guys were incapable of reading Brian’s smug expression and body language when he realised she had gotten herself in trouble by saying she slapped him first. Red flags all around.
He reminds me of my ex. Not believing in her, belittling her, making her feel small at every turn and being nice to everyone else. So whenever she breaks down from the pressure shes looking like a “fragile female” and people feel sorry for him. Then he can turn around and abuse her, because she will question herself and nobody around her treats him like an abuser because he keeps his show running like a well oiled machine.
convinced he offed gabby out of rage, panicked and told his parents everything, they included him in their trip to say their goodbyes and then he intentionally went ‘missing’ to off himself. once parents got tired of waiting for LE to find him they ‘accidentally’ found him themselves edit: it’s hard to fathom that there’s any positives that came out of this but i thought i should share anyway. whilst on the mass search for gabby, they managed to find 8 other bodies of missing people. (since i last checked) that’s 8 other families who can now grieve and take their family member or friend home and let them rest in the peace that they deserve c:
Small correction, Gabby doesn’t say “I was trying to get him to stop talking and calm down.” She says “I was trying to get him to stop telling me to calm down.” He was taking her keys and threatening to drive off in her van, all while telling her “calm down, shut up, you’re making a scene” over and over. He was driving her crazy on purpose so he’d have an excuse to punish her. He knew what he was doing.
One red flag that some people might have missed is at 8:09 Gabby is talking to the police officer about h*tting Brian first and for a second looks over towards the back of the van, almost like she’s being told what to say or do or maybe because she’s afraid of the person around that area. R.I.P Gabby 💕
Brian definitely wasn’t the victim of domestic abuse here, he definitely pushed her over for her to have a mental breakdown and being so stressed like that. And her at first saying he didn’t do anything to her but his backpack may have scratched her tells me he’s the abusive one. People in abusive relationships always try to dismiss the abuse and give excuses for their bruises etc. Ans him literally laughing about it and being so confident made me want to puke.. The fact that the police didn’t notice that makes me furious tbh.
The most suspicious thing about Brian is how he wasn’t worried when she went missing…nor stressed or sad, just angry. The normal signs if someone you cared was missing about would be stress, sadness and worrying along with anger. Not just anger. There are 5 stages of grief. And he only went through 2. Denial and rage. And the worst part is he didn’t even bother to attempt looking for her.
This is definitely a case of domestic abuse. The fact Brian acted so calm and that Gabby was basically having a breakdown is definitely a red flag. The reason I think she’s hysterical is because Brian most likely had abused her before. And when Gabby said he (Brian) never supported her. A case of physical AND mental abuse.
As a former victim of domestic abuse, the article of Gabby talking to the police really triggered me because she is doing all she could do to protect Brian because she loved him and didn’t want anything to happen to him. I acted the same when the police were called for domestic violence by a roommate, I did all I could to protect him and justify his actions.
The dentist who said that those dental records where Brian’s is actually his uncle. I believe that the parents planted that scull so police and everyone else would believe that Brian is dead and stop looking for him, but he’s actually alive and on the run. I also believe that the parents know exactly where he is.
After all that went down, and Brian was on the run. He was said to have been traveling across state lines. At that time before I knew fully knew what was going on, I was working at my job at a articlegame store, that was known to buy things from people. So while working, in alabama, this dude comes in asking to sell something for some quick cash and asked to use our phone. I denied buying his stuff because he wouldn’t show me his ID to put in his info in our computers. So he immediately left without using our phone and walked across the road to Walmart and hitched a ride with someone in a white truck. About two hours later, I head home, and my husband told me that Brian laundrie was seen in our area. I didn’t know what the dude looked like, so I asked to see a picture. Turns out, the weird dude was Brian. About two days later, the police went to all the businesses in the area to collect article footage.
One time, I saw someone get attacked. It was 4 years ago when I was 14. I was at the subway when a girl was walking with a man when the man suddenly punched the girl and twisted her arm. A person called the police and the man got arrested. The ambulance also came. It was a terrifying experience. So all my love goes out to gabby. It could have been brian since he was the only one who was with her. Gabby is a really nice person. She tried to protect Brian from the police so he would not get arrested or charged. And it broke my heart when he didn’t help gabby when she was crying. All my love goes out to her. Rip gabby ♡
I’d say background check the parents or their lawyer for connections. Aside from suspicious behaviors of the parents, finding a part of the skull that can be “verified” through dental records is too much of a coincidence. They might be just buying time for Brian so by the time the DNA extraction results with the remains unfold to be not him he’s already away somewhere where he’s not about to be seen. Personally, I don’t believe he’s dead. The parents also knew exactly what to do, they’re certainly getting good legal advice to be able to get to join that searching party just because they’re the ones who reported him “missing” first.
Can I just question why, only when Brian’s parents joined the case, they seemed to know exactly where to go, and happened to stumble across evidence that law enforcement didn’t, even after ages of searching? I mean, might be nothing, but that’s really suspicious and weird Edit: I just got to the point of the article where it was brought up But yeah, definitely foul play by Brian and maybe his parents
I told the police during a visit where I was hurt that I started it. I really thought if they arrested me then I would be saved and safe without him going mad at me afterwards. Sadly they just warned me and never did anything. 5 years of d.v and he got away with it all despite photos, hospital visits etc. This, to me, was her almost begging for help out of her situation. We love them still but equally know deep down what they are capable of. It’s so so sad x
I really still have trouble believing the finding of Laundrie’s remains only because it seems so impossible that his parents just suddenly found everything right away. Also, to be a skeleton within a month also seems fishy but I don’t know the area so can’t talk about potential modes of decomposition.
At first i felt sad for the cops because it seemed like they were genuine with their intentions and they took the steps that i would have. But then i remember that I’m an 18 year old kid honestly with no experience and they all have kids and have worked in the field for years and years. Better training is needed.
Okay I am 10 minutes in and I can tell from the footage that gabby is a victim of emotional abuse. The way brian acted; his coolness and his calm and the fact that he passed the blame to gabby without ever saying he did anything & the way Gabby acted by immediately taking the blame, brushing off her injuries and just looking so guilty where she looks like a beggar/pleader. This looks like a clear situation of EA and possible DA.
When some women feel like they’ve lost complete control of their autonomy in a relationship, they have a constate state of fight-response anxiety, even terrified of what might happen to them. She knew something was going to happen to her and she tried to stop him non-violently. She tried to get people to intervene and take him away from her. You can see it in her face, hear it in her voice. May she rest in peace
I hope that cop learned something from this. When the cops are called on a DV call and they find the male being cool and calm and denying responsibility along with the female crying and accepting responsibility, that’s clear-cut a domestic violence situation, nine times out of 10 anyway. The person being battered will try to minimize the abuse and even take fault for it so they don’t have to be separated but from their abuser. I’ve been in the situation before and I’ve seen it happen many times and it never ends pretty. You would think an experienced police officer would know this simple psychology. I’m not trying to bring him down or say anything bad about his judgment; I’m just trying to point out failures that other officers could take notice of and apply them to different situations so that maybe we can stop this abuse and save some lives. Just because a guy looks trustworthy and tells you something doesn’t mean he is and doesn’t mean he’s telling you the truth. I hope he’s learned from this and becomes a better police officer behind it.
Two people in a co dependant situation that obviously shouldn’t have been on an extended road trip with no way to get away from the stress. If the cop would have arrested her instead of giving her a summons to appear, it might have turned out different. Sure, she’d have went to jail but she’d be alive.
“to gaslight” refers to the act of undermining another person’s reality by denying facts, the environment around them, or their feelings. Targets of gaslighting are manipulated into turning against their thoughts and understanding, their deny their own emotions, and who they fundamentally are as people. This is emotional abuse. It happens every day and it is not recognized since it takes more than just a few moments of anger to manipulate someone into this situation.
The way Brian was acting in the police footing and how Gabby was acting as well is exactly how my mom and my abusive stepdad were acting when the police came to break up the situation. My stepdad was talking about hunting and all of his accomplishments (he strangled my mom and was acting completely calm) and my mom was crying and talking about the situation. Honestly scares me how similar they act.
I definitely see my past self in Gabby in the police’s body cam footage. I’d blame myself for his actions, he showed jealousy of my own success instead of supporting and encouraging me, he’d use my insecurities, naivety and anxiety to keep himself in control over the relationship to make me stay, gaslighted me, and destroyed me mentally so he could tell everyone that I’m the problem. I see all of those in just a few seconds of conversation between officer Pratt and Gabby. The only difference is that I have friends and family who supported me, and for that, I was able to handle the situation well and ended the relationship before the situation could get out of control. Now I’m in a healthier relationship and couldn’t be more happier and grateful. It’s a shame that this case was not met with a happy ending, but I hope everyone who sees this could learn from our experiences 🙏
My first marriage was so much like this. We would drive all over northern California and argue, he would threaten to leave me in the woods or threaten to jump out over guardrails. He would manipulate and charm everyone around us while controlling and abusing me in the background. He “borrowed” guns because he couldn’t legally own them (he claimed it was due to mental illness, but it’s actually because he had SA and DV charges.) When he first grabbed me by the throat in a real, scary sort of way I left and that was that. I see a lot of that emotion in the police convo. I had a conversation exactly like that with a cop and several doctors and EMTs through that first marriage.
The cops might have misread the situation but they were very very compassionate and understanding. It really can help when a cop (or doctor/nurse) has a loved one who suffers from the same category of mental illness as the person they are dealing with. I think those cops really wanted to help and comfort her.
I was screaming at the screen as they reported Gabby had been the aggressor. I knew immediately he was the abuser & she was the victim. Please understand, when your in an abusive & controlling relationship they TELL YOU to take the blame. It’s all your fault, you made me do it, what’s wrong with you, you’ll have to say it was you because your getting me in trouble & I cant take anymore or cover for you, I’ll have to walk away from you etc etc. Your that confused you believe it is you even though you cant work out what you’ve meant to of done. Gabby was questioning what she’d done, she didnt have a clue. Then she blamed herself, the confusion was disturbing to watch. This poor young woman never got to the point of clarity because he took her life before she could. RIP Gabby
Brian was also putting her down when he said that she wouldn’t be noticed on social media. I do believe that she was secretly calling out for help. I also think that the rainbow helped the cops find Gabby, cause Gabby was helping them spiritually. I know that a lot of people don’t believe in this stuff, but the rainbow was a sign.
37:13 they should have had a police officer assigned to them (Brian’s parents) because they were part of the criminal investigation they should have never been left alone to search, or even be there really. Now the evidence will be questioned and cannot be trusted. It’s just amazing they found his stuff so quickly.
I thought to myself that Gabby Petito’s spirit is so warm she reminds me of sunshine, and I never knew her personally, but it’s just something u can feel radiating from her smile, I felt this way before I even knew about the rainbows. I truly believe it was gabby. She will continue to shone down on us. It’s sad, this world needs more loving souls like hers, but unfortunately it seems where there is light, darkness always follows and eventually consumes that light, at least that’s what seems to be the reoccurring theme in these cases. There are far too many cases like this
I don’t even know her, never met her even once. But, I can tell what happened. My guess is, she was having a bunch of problems. Not only with him, but, she also was having some concerns and unpleasant feelings with the mom. Also, she felt like she couldn’t just have a whole day, or week where she could just feel calm and peaceful because her and Brian fought. She wondered what it was going to take to just have a good day. To get along (so she probably tried to change (control). Because, he just stressed her out. Why? Well, he would be rude, dismissive, and always there would be some kind of problem. Like he would just be insensitive and kind of critical and accusing (control). So, he was antagonizing her. But she couldn’t figure out exactly how the arguments started. Because he didn’t have an obvious way of being abusive, it was more subtle. This allowed a kind of strain to always be there, that Gabby just wished she could escape. Like many, she had not noticed the aloofness he displayed. She just thought he was quiet. But, he was an abusive male. Also, I think people underestimate that there is such a thing as being too young to be ready for a healthy relationship.
I always thought and to this day still do think, the marks on Brian’s arms when the cops were recording— I think they’re from Gabby trying to get away from him as self defense. I used to be in an abusive relationship earlier last year and that’s one of the main things that would show up. Bruises and scratches on the arms.
The way that Brian wasn’t even sad or upset that she went missing he was instead mad. It makes me think that maybe he was mad that she was reported missing and he thought he would have more time for a story/ time to cover up more efficiently. It’s so disturbing that he was so calm the whole time and she was in hysterics multiple times during this case. It’s all so bizarre to me. She seemed like such a nice person.
I think people expect women to act like Gabby acted when they were pulled over by the police — crying, taking the blame. It’s almost like it’s assumed that women will “overreact,” so to speak. And while I get that women often display more emotions than men (especially since that’s what society allows for), women’s emotions are still valid, and in my experience, not typically an overreaction. So sad they didn’t recognize how bad of a mental health crisis Gabby was having until it was too late…
really feel like the cops need some accountability in this. Its obvious that more training needs to be had in recognizing domestic abuse. That would have saved Gabbys life, at least in Yellowstone. It creeps me out how much they project the women in their lives on Gabby. ‘You remind me of my daughter’ and ‘she reminds me of my wife’, well heres the thing, SHES NOT EITHER WOMAN.
Something we need to remember, is that for the police, hindsight is 20/20 for everyone. The police had to follow the letter of the law, even if they worried she wasn’t telling the whole truth. That’s why it’s so hard to help victims. They have to speak up for themselves or no one can legally step in and help fix it.
What’s the most infuriating thing about this case, he k!££€d himself KNOWING WHY he abused and k!££€d Gabby, and we’ll never know. The justice system failed Gabby because they couldn’t even tell she was in an abusive relationship; Brian totally manipulated the situation and Gabby. Brain’s parents are guilty as well because they REFUSED to help their future daughter in law who no doubt had been in their own home and gotten to know her. This whole thing is saddening and infuriating.
This article was great. ALL the details summed up in 45 minutes. I’ve learned more here than all the other actual “news” outlets I’ve been following, like WKFLA (I think that’s what it was) and News Nation. Well researched and put together. Great job. It’s just so sad we still and probably never will have any answers.
I was getting suspicious too about the parents finding the remains so fast, and as to how theres like just a skeleton in such a short period of time. But when it was stated that is a spot where wild pigs live… well, I have a mini pig, and it’s insane how they literally eat through ANYTHING, they break and eat. Imagine wild pigs, so I am evem surprised that there is anything left, because usually they wouldn’t leave anything behind. Still odd how the parents would just arrive and find it when the police and dogs couldn’t.
This is so crazy. Even the end of the story with his parents and their actions and how he just happened to be found. I am beginning to think that its not really him that they found yet possibly a cadavor that they got from a medical facility and put it there. It all seems so totally sketchy. I guess we will never know. And the thing with the rainbows showing up in places where their bodies were, that is just weird too. It’s like the Universe is saying yes that is correct. So weird and such a tragic story.
This is hard to watch! I was involved in a DV relationship for 20 years and the red flags were all over this. These Officers have no business making a decision during this stop. I wish there was a team of ladies who have lived through these situations to help. Gabby would still be alive today if there was.
The ONLY people who MISSED the RED flag where EVERY police man ..involved…!!! They bonded with Brian as a man …and basically threw Gabby into the arms of DEATH….!! CASE closed….Giving Brian a place to shower and sleep….sending…Gabby on the road………. I hope that man lives with this the rest of his life.
Abused women experience cognitive dissonance, they usually defend the abuser. One night of separation in domestic violence is definitely not enough. A week is a minimum including counselling professional specializing in domestic violence. A normal person would seek counselling, an abuser would avoid it, minimize it, try to brush it off.
Um okay I just started following you and I honestly Love your content, but I moved from Colorado to Jacksonville Florida, and I was outside with my dad and my sister at the park and a double rainbow was seen and I have photos of this beautiful moment, but I have just come across this article and that rainbow is the exact rainbow I have on my phone! The fact I just heard about this case too is shocking… My prayers go out to the Victims Family.
I dont understand why all the rainbows mentions. it takes away from the seriousness of the situation. sad sad story. so much harm done, and for what? I wonder if sometimes people that embark in a big adventure (like cross country road-camping trip) are aware of some of the unseen risks. im thinking the fatigue, financial stress, poor eating habits on the road… all this can make a poor situation worse by affecting people ability to regulate their emotions. often people dont realised they are weakened/affected by all this. and then add whatever couple issues they had. Stay safe people, and try to think foward.
I’m kinda confused. Why are some people blaming the police that they were in the wrong? what I got from the article was, the police gave Gabby many chances to tell them that something was wrong, but she chose not to. They even mentioned and asked how she got the bruises, wanted to report Gabby as the assaulter so she and the guy could stay away or at least be separated but she didn’t want that.. Gabby denied everything and wanted to stay with her partner.. the police couldn’t do anything, you can’t just force them to go to jail without any evidence, the victim (in this case, Gabby) even denied and wanted to be with her partner. Yes, I understand she was scared and confused and such, but I’m saying the police didn’t do anything wrong… Unless I’m wrong? please help me out here :’)
What a terrible case, may she, Gabby, rest in peace. Aside from physical abuse, a huge red flag is your partner not being supportive. Gabby mentioned the guy didn’t believe in her blog project. There’s one thing about being realistic, and another thing being a downer like she described him. I can’t imagine being 24/7 with someone who doesn’t believe in my personal projects.
Honestly, I wouldnt trust Brian. It’s the fact that he was so checking calm when the cops were talking to him, while poor Gabby, * rest in peace love * was in TEARS. she was having a full on vent, but not really a vent. She was venting about her life, but taking the blame for the abuse. Brian was calm, because he knew he would be able to take control and manipulate Gabby, and he would also know that she would take the blame. And the fact that she was still grabbed on the jaw PHYSICALLY by BRIAN hints off that Brian is the abuser. Why don’t the cops understand that? Why do viewers with literally 0 EXPERIENCE as a cop/investigator, we get to figure and see more than you guys can? And the fact that she even did the sign with her hands for DOMESTIC ABUSE, shows that she is most certainly NOT the abuser in this case. Like, did NO cops ever TRY and do something if they even saw the article/saw her doing the sign for domestic abuse? Why didn’t the cops do ANYTHING? Do the cops simply not care? Or are the cops so blind, to the point where they cant even see Gabby, doing the hand sign TO THE COPS FOR HELP, AFTER a fight between her and Brian? LIKE, DOES THIS NOT MAKE SENSE?
This is another example of how the police failed to protect people. If they had been separated, this could have been prevented. Clearly there was something wrong. The entire justice system and the way the police are currently operating is failing America. The police will arrest people and get aggressive in the wrong situations, and then in cases like this where intervention was needed, nothing was done, even though the signs were there. This case makes me so angry. I hope this and many other cases will cause some sort of reform. Being cautious and preventative in any situation is better than not doing anything. It’s always better to be safe than sorry, but that’s not the way the police work when dealing with reports of possible danger.
Gabby is a beautiful girl and my heart goes out to her parents and loved ones. I’ve watched the police officer’s questioning Gabby and Brian when they pulled over and it made me feel sick as it was easy to see how distraught Gabby was and to me it sounded like the police were very leading in terms of their questions. I won’t even mention the police stuff up when they mistook Brian’s Mum for him even though they don’t look like each other up close or at a distance. Gabby’s parents (step parents included) are in my prayers. I can’t even imagine your pain, your frustration and despair. I admire all four of you for staying strong together when often in these situations the stress tears families apart. You and your loved ones are in my prayers. Your beautiful girl is perusal over you and is at complete peace now. Every step you take she is next to you. I wish that I could do or say more but please know that Gabby touched more hearts than what anyone can imagine. She changed lives through her blogs and her upbeat positive personality which is so obvious just by perusal a few of her articles and the gift she gave her followers with last through all eternity. There are not many people who have the power and strength to make such a huge impact globally (I live in New Zealand). Xx
“I have a daughter ur age and I’m lookin at u as kind of a victim” Oof I’m honestly curious to know the reaction of that officer and how he felt when he heard the news abt gabby Like I just wanna know I wanna know if he learned something from this, if he decided to take up some psychology courses, if he became extra protective of his daughter afterwards
(Agnostic, talk of beliefs ) She reciprocated her feelings, without any harm. While i do think Bryan deserves it. The fact that rainbows showed up everywhere leading them to her body. instead of the house being haunted or whatever it may be, she put out rainbows instead of harming them, that says a lot about her and her character.
I am so so late but this article gives me chills. I have been in multiple abusive relationships and that article where the police pulled the van over? I see myself in Gabby. She was clearly begging for help. She did seem to believe it was her fault and if you pay attention you can see her glancing over to where Brian is. The case is still not closed, but it should be
The problem is that the cop is comparing Gabby to his wife which is completely not like his wife just because someone may seem like it doesn’t mean they act like them Gabby was more scared and defending herself other than aggressiveness there’s different types of anxiety all together and I have tons of different types of anxiety but it’s definitely not anything like he says his wife is
1st but this is super sad especially since she blamed her self when they got pulled over, and they were supposed to get married was he just like one said ” hmm I don’t want to be married anymore ” witch is really messed up because he supposed to love her forever and she trusted him. Sorry for the Ted talk
Very well done! I’ve been SO into this one since the first body cam from their pull over got released in the very beginning. As a survivor if DV, his narcissism and gaslighting is A HUGE ELEPHANT in the room..Those who know, KNOW…Their behavior was textbook. But those poor officers…How were they to know it would develop like this…The saddest part is there are SO many girls like Gabby in the world…See the red flags and don’t wave them away!!
Laundries parents are enablers of the highest order, we all need to refuse doing that, it doesn’t matter if they are family or not ! Evil needs to be stopped and enabling them makes you even more disgusting then those who are criminally responsible! Enough is enough, call evil out !, even if it’s your own bloodline ! Rebuke it ! 🙏🏼💫
I know that not everyone here believes in God and stuff, but I really do feel like that rainbow was a sign from God. That cannot just be a coincidence, and it’s a direct link between Gabby’s passing place and what was possibly Brian’s location. Once again, I know that some people don’t believe in God, but this really spoke to me. Very tragic story and it’s absolutely horrible what this man did to this girl and her family.
It’s the little things that give people away. Just that fact that he didn’t believe in her travel blog and told her so is a glaring red flag to me. Unsupportive and most likely disrespectful and dismissive. They were both young and fairly inexperienced with relationships Gabby probably did not know how to navigate the issues or even realize it until it was too late. It wouldn’t surprise me is she was planning her escape or pulling away and that could possibly be what triggered him. Such a horrible tragedy.
The behavior analyst getting angry with police is ridiculous. They clearly did NOT believe Brian…BUT the police can only do so much given red tape. I was in an abusive relationship and the police didn’t believe me when I also said I was the primary aggressor (and was NOT)- but they said they needed to take me in since they can only go off of what each party says at that point if there’s no clear substance abuse etc. What says he’s not off somewhere without teeth?
I had a narcissistic and manipulative boyfriend once. He’d show me what he did to himself if I told him I was going to leave him, he did it multiple times. I always stayed because that’s what he wanted and I guess what he needed was me and only me. I eventually did leave him for good. He wasn’t happy cause he knew he couldn’t control me anymore. But yeah. I’ve got a narcissistic mother who is narcissistic and manipulative. Police never believe me. Gabby was trying to get help. The real issue, police do NOT care for women in these kinds of situations. PERIOD. It NEEDS to change.
All these family members of Brian, even a week or two after he returns in Gabbie’s van alone, still have the audacity to say nothing seemed suspicious. Not a single one of them asked what happened? Why did you leave her in Utah? Why do you have her van? None of those questions? Don’t even get me started on the discovery of Brian and the dry bag…. I call total 🐄 💩
Tbh I feel like there’s something else going on here, esp with how they both not only kept fighting their last few days and behaved totally weird. I feel like there is something we don’t know, something that the two of them got involved in that was bigger than them and ended up in them both being dead.

So, from the facts that they had at the time they had; a) a phone call that described HIM hitting HER b) him recklessly driving with Gabby sobbing in the passenger seat c) Gabby taking ALL the blame for EVERYTHING (that would’ve definitely been a red flag to me… she sounded like it had been hammered into her brain that everything is her fault and her fault only) d) Gabby crying the entire frickin time while Brian was so cool and collected almost like his girlfriend wasn’t having a hard time… like he didn’t seem concerned at all about her, and from all that, they thought that Gabby was the aggressor??? Huh?????
I can’t get over the fact that Gabby was described in the police report as “confused and emotional.” Emotional, yes. But “confused” is such a derogatory and victim-shaming description of her mental state. She is level-headed, very aware that she is hurting, and very aware that she does not feel safe with him. She communicated the day’s events to the officer clearly and without any “confusion.” She communicated with great emotion – which the officer should have understood included sadness and fear, based on her description and obvious demeanor. The police did not ask the right questions. They instead made unforgivable assumptions, and degraded her supposed mental state to a level of “confused” with absolutely no evidence. This is freakin’ gaslighting-level behavior on their part. Why didn’t they ask her, “do you feel safe with this man?” “When he locked you out of the vehicle, did he make you feel safe?” “When he grabbed your chin and caused you physical pain against your will, did he make you fee safe?” “Did he make you feel safe when he degraded your dreams?” “Do you think he might hurt you again?” “Are you certain he would not do this again?” “Do you have someone you feel comfortable sharing your fears with?” “Who can I call for you?” Gabby was “hurting and afraid.” Brian’s demeanor was consistently disconnected from the reality of his obviously heartbroken, sobbing girlfriend. He remained charming, cool and calculated. Why was his detached, manipulative behavior contrasted with hers not a red flag?
I mean, let’s be honest… Gabby has the behavior of a narcissist’s victim. She’s blaming herself for everything while crying and having separation anxiety. And Brian has all the characteristics of a narcissist… While she’s crying and blaming herself, he’s smiling and laughing with the law enforcement, appearing friendly… That’s typically what narcissists do : they make you look crazy while they look angelic. They persuade you that you’re the problem but that you need them to survive. That you should be grateful that they’re staying with you. And if they really broke off the engagement and she said that she would move out or just that she would leave him, he could have lost it… But obviously for that last part we need to wait for the investigation because it’s only speculations
I was Gabby, but the officer believed me. I never knew just how lucky I was until now. If I lived in a van and not an apartment, if I was isolated instead of close to family, if the officer had been different, who knows what would have happened. I pray for Gabby, though she’s at peace. My heart goes out to her poor family.
It was so heartbreaking to watch that body cam footage of her crying like that. It’s so obvious that he was the one who abused her. There was so many red flags, like the way he was so calm and was even LAUGHING?!? While she was over in the police car having a full anxiety attack. He just makes me uncomfortable.
Him talking that much gave me Chris Watts vibes. Agreed with everyone else’s comments here. It was abuse. She took the blame, when it wasn’t her fault. She deserved so much better. We need better resources for those in situations of domestic abuse. It seemed much harder since they didn’t have a set residence or location they were staying at either. :/ Something like this should not happen again.
The officers should of taken her into protective custody. Gabby was petrified and seemed to be more concerned with ensuring he was not arrested. She lied for him. They should of also contacted her parents immediately. He got more angry and aggressive after the police left resulting in the demise of Gabby. His parents and sister is WELL AWARE what he did to Gabby. The police asked her leading questions and failed to properly identify how terrified she was. They seemed more concerned with ensuring Brian was okay. May her soul journey in peace. May her family be comforted and attain justice by any means necessary.
Kendall, I am usually the silent watcher as in I don’t usually comment. But I just HAD to say that you are EXACTLY the person who should be covering true crime. You are so empathetic, genuine and caring. The way you are so careful to be thoughtful of the victims and their families in every article is so inspiring. I admire your passion for people and I love your articles
I had a girlfriend who got charged with domestic violence as the aggressor after her boyfriend pushed her down and grabbed her by the throat. She scratched his arms and face trying to defend herself. Because her boyfriend had marks on him and she did not, she was arrested. The way domestics are treated by the police needs to change. Had Gabby been believed, had her body language and her demeanor been addressed, she would still be alive. Both Gabby and my friend were treated like criminals. It was completely avoidable.
Just want to point out how Kendall covers ALL types of cases.. well known stories, low media attention stories, people/families from different socioeconomic backgrounds, different races/ethnicities, etc.. and that’s how you know she genuinely cares about each case and what she does. Especially with all the misleading media, it’s just very admirable to me. Thank you Kendall!!
What bothers me about this body cam footage is when the officer tells her how important it is that she answers this question carefully and she’s the only person who can answer it…. The look in her face is almost like she thought they were going to ask her straight up if Brian was abusing and hurting her and instead she was asked if she meant to cause him bodily harm. I just can’t get over that look on her face. She was terrified!
Kendall, am late to this so you probs won’t see – but this sort of article highlights why you have such a loyal fan base. These sort of cases are not just a story to you or a source of income, but you really empathise with them on an emotional level. Appreciate your work and your strive for all those who have cases still unsolved x
Hi Kendall you are an amazing person with so much heart, I watch you as much as I can!!! You help me to be aware, I also talk to my family/kids about your show. I am very grateful that you are always so respectful when speaking about deceased people, as in my area we cannot say the name of people deceased for cultural reason. I am commenting asking if you get the opportunity could you please look into the Australian case involving Charlene Warrior, the families and others are trying to spread awareness on her untimely and confusing death. It would be greatly appreciated and help put pressure on the media and governments to make a change in the out dated systems that are taking away our loved ones. It was two weeks she was missing before any serious news and then the law was four days late when they found her deceased. Timing is crucial in all cases when police are alerted.
If Brian was scared of her, if she was the aggressor, he would not be laughing and smiling a few minutes after them having an altercation. And he would most likely not be comfortable putting all the blame on her like he was doing if he found her to be a physical threat! Along with that the aggressors in DV cases usually aren’t as quick to take on the blame as Gabby was. So frustrating how the policemen didn’t put half an ounce of critical thought into this. The park ranger, Melissa, was the only one who acted with care and empathy.
The cops make me so furious. A woman is visibly distraught so they make an assumption that she must be suffering a mental break. They believe Brian in spite of the 911 call stating that he hit Gabby. They pin the whole issue on her and miss all the obvious signs she seems to be suffering in an abusive relationship. They were busier being bros with Brian than trying to make sure Gabby was okay.
A witness saw Brian hit her, she’s clearly distraught the whole time, and yet the police still come to the conclusion that she was the aggressor. I don’t understand. The police encounter and having to spend a night in a hotel probably set him off. I hope Brian is found ALIVE so he can face what he’s done and Gabby’s family can get answers and justice.
thank you for making it clear you will donate the monetized aspect of the article. that makes this so much less “icky” for me to watch. sometimes i just find true crime exploitative.. and this isnt. i had to realize this is actually a good thing. it took a few weeks though. new sub, thank you for the work you do. for the investigators(professional and not), for the family.. thank you.
That body cam footage is so disturbing. How can they call themselves cops and not even recognize the red flags of an emotional/physically abusive relationship?? She was so clearly in distress and he’s laughing, and they got that she was the aggressor from that?? SERIOUSLY?? Despite having eye witness accounts that HE was hitting HER? These are the people we’re supposed to trust with our safety? It’s infuriating. His parents are also infuriating and clearly covering for their son. I hope Brian is found alive and pays the consequences of his actions.
That body cam footage makes me so angry. The conversation makes it clear that domestic violence occured, no matter who hit whom. If these officers had done what they should have, Gabby would be alive right now. I have seen this repeatedly in domestic abuse situations so often. I can understand the desire to keep your nose out of a personal relationship or to not have a pair of young people in trouble, but every time an officer overlooks something like this, that may seem minor, they put a woman’s life at risk. Furious doesn’t begin to cover it.
The most sickening part is that when she was crying he was smiling, and wasn’t even rubbing her shoulder to comfort her or looked in distress or worried about how she is feeling. He definitely killed her. My boyfriend and I hardly ever argue but when we have and I’m emotional he always stops everything to comfort me and I do the same for him…. and the fact that there were witnesses of him hitting her the cops have way damn too much man pride
His parents probably knew he hit her when she lived with them. I used to live with an exs parents who hit me and when I finally left him and reported him for DV they denied everything and painted me as the aggressor. Given he nearly killed me when I left it was very difficult to deny it, but they still tried. A lot of DV perpetuators parents can’t believe their precious blossom are actually evil inside, given their parenting is partly to blame.
I went to high school with Gabby and Brian. He was in a bunch of my classes….this case is unfathomable and I can’t believe my tiny, small town is experiencing this. These cases don’t feel real until it happens to people you know. I cannot believe they let Brian slip right through their fingers. He needs to be found soon and be held accountable for his unspeakable actions. Rest In Peace, Gabby. We love you, we are all back home fighting for you and you WILL get the justice you deserve <3 Thank you Kendall for making this article for Gabby, I can't thank you enough for bringing more awareness to her case through this article and all your socials.
Hii Kendall, hope ur well and hope gabby gets the justice she deserves🤍it’s truly awful and disgusting. Is it possible to do a article on either of the cases of True 911 Calls’s YouTube article on any of the parents killing their children and how one family hid their daughters body in a wall? I think it’s important to raise awareness on parenting and alarming behaviour exhibited by them so to stop them before they do anything harmful, or potentially fatal. Parenting is such a responsibility and I think shedding light on that may help prevent, if even in a small way, future crimes and children growing up and committing more. Thank you!<3
