GHI plans may cover couples counseling, but it is important to understand the mental health and couples therapy benefits before working with a couples therapist. The Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) document helps choose a health plan and shows how you and the plan would share the cost for covered health care services.
Couples therapy may be covered under Medicaid if it is deemed medically necessary, typically addressing a diagnosed mental health condition or treating specific relationship issues that significantly impact the individuals’ mental well-being. If marriage counseling doesn’t work, couples can seek help from EmblemHealth Therapists, EmblemHealth Psychologists, and GHI counselors. Military Onesource offers 12 free counseling sessions for service members in need of marital counseling.
Dual health insurance allows both parties to claim mental health diagnosis on both their insurance plans, making both parties financially responsible for the counseling sessions. The cost of marriage counseling ranges from $75 to $200 per session, depending on factors like the therapist’s expertise and location. Some therapists offer sliding scale fees, and insurance may cover a portion of the costs.
Marriage counseling is a valuable resource for couples, and Medicare Part B offers coverage for family counseling and marriage counseling. However, there are specific criteria that need to be met for Medicare Part B to cover counseling.
GHI does more than just offer insurance; they provide access to complete mental health care, including group therapy sessions, one-on-one counseling, and more.

The Global Hunger Index shows if countries are meeting hunger-related SDGs. It can be used to rank countries. The global hunger index looks at three things that cause hunger: not enough food, not enough good food for children, and children dying. The index includes three equally weighted indicators: the proportion of people who are food energy-deficient, the prevalence of underweight in children aged under 5 years, and the mortality rate of children aged under 5 years. A regression analysis of the global hunger index on GNI per capita shows which countries are better or worse off than expected. Countries are ranked on a 100-point scale, with 0 being the best and 100 being the worst. Hunger is a major problem in the world. Hunger and undernourishment are passed on from generation to generation. Children born to poor parents are often underweight and less resistant to disease. What’s ANYA Mind? Today, we’re talking about Sue Johnson & Leslie Greenburg’s Emotionally Focused Therapy. This model …
This is why we shouldn’t even get into a relationship if we can’t agree on the 4 Foundational F’s! 1. Faith (Theist with an atheist? LDS with a Catholic? Reformed Baptist with a WOF Charismatic? Being unequally yoked is a big hard stop to step back and assess if God really brought us together or are we acting in our own lusts. This is the first foundation to determine if we’d stay teammates or become opponents.) 2. Family (Do you want children or not? More importantly: do you want to BE parent, not just want kids because of selfishness or that “it’s the next thing to do…?”) 3. Finance (Are you disciplined, while they carelessly live above their means? More importantly: are you a workaholic and are they a sluggard who thinks the world owes them for doing nothing? Are you a planner and they a reactor? Do they look forward to leaving a legacy or do they burn through what they have?) 4. Fitness (Do you treat your body like a temple or a trash can? Are you dogmatic about your eating habits or are you flexible? Do you drink and smoke excessively or will we hike/bike/gym together?) And not to mention that if you have an ex: they’re an ex for a reason. Be content being single than settling for no reason or worse: bad company corrupts good morals and will only bring heartache and pain.
My ex wanted me to never talk to any lads other than him, and whoever he saw me talking to one he’d say I was cheating on him and not talk to me for days on end. But it’s “different” when it’s him to talk to girls. Like, idc if you talk to other girls, I ain’t so insecure that I get messed up over that shit. Well anyway he cheated on me after 2 years together lol, gotta say I was relieved tbh. I felt so trapped and he made me feel like I was always the reason why things went wrong In my life, when it rlly wasn’t. Now I’m single and can actually live my teen years without constantly feeling like I can’t do what I actually want to do
I’m not a counselor, however I can speak from experience and I’m sure any counselor, marriage or not, would give you the exact same advice: Do NOT have a baby in the hopes that it will fix your deteriorating relationship. My parents did this, other parents have done this and continue to do it, and it’s the worst decision one could ever make. While there are some fortunate people who’s relationships did flourish or become better due to the conceiving of a child, a good 99.9% of the time, this decision only leads to even more misery because it leaves two people who clearly aren’t in love anymore stuck together, causes resentment towards the child, which can escalate into abuse of many natures as the child grows, and ultimately doesn’t solve this original issue at all. To add to this, you are putting a responsibility on a baby that did not ask to be born, and shouldn’t even have responsibilities like that because it’s not your child’s job to fix your marital issues, it’s you and your spouses. If you’re unhappy in your relationship, either get some counselling, or leave. Do not have a child hoping it’ll be the magic miracle cure to everything.
1. Complaining to friends and family and online about your partner. Don’t. Do. It. You WILL ruin your relationship and the relationship after that and the relationship after that and the relationship after that. Because what happens is even though you just need to vent and you love your partner, your friends and family start holding it against them and start hating them and treating them badly because they hear you complain all the time. Also it upsets your partner that you’re constantly making them out to be a bad person. Get a therapist or a private diary if you want to vent about your partner. It’s incredibly disrespectful to talk badly about your partner. Period. Keep your relationship issues PRIVATE between ONLY whoever is IN the relationship. Take this advice or leave it but don’t pretend you don’t know why every relationship you have keeps falling apart. It’s because you keep getting your mother involved in the relationship issues and then you post about it online. You and your partner are a TEAM. It’s supposed to be you guys against the world.
This was so insightful! I especially like the explanation of the cycle of the problem with attachment, I can totally see how this occurs in my own relationship. I never fully realized the clingy phase after the conflict but now I see it and it definitely happens both ways. We’re both doing our best to not fall into our pattern though and working so far
I’ve done most of that earlier working through my trauma from an very abusive relationship. I started making my music after 2 years of being completely separated from him and i made a few songs about him that really helped me dig deep and fix those raw wounds that i just covered with a bandage and in midst of our relationship i miscarried a child and so those old wounds came back to me forcing me to work through those wounds and realizing how much I’ve overcame and now I’m giving others my testimony and help them through my experiences. And making my music is something I always wanted to do since i was a child and my ex boyfriend at the time was very jealous and still is jealous of me and he used to destroy anything i created. While also destroying me. I’m still perusal ur articles after the Twilight articles and they’re helping me understand what i sent though and what i did that was useful to my development from that time until now. Thank u truly ❤
I must come here and say this THANK YOU so much for all the theories articles. They helped me so much as I am reading the family system textbook and learning all the family theories. I really appreciate all the explanations. I love your articles. I wonder will you explain IFS in the future article? Seemed like it is very popular. Plus I would love to hear from you how counselors should use all these different theories in their practice. Should we pick one or integrate them? What is your suggestion? Thank you again. (I can’t wait to watch your love in blind articles … )
I really liked this article I am not in a relationship with anybody whatsoever right now I was a long time ago but I liked your thought processes on emotionally focused behaviors it helps me pick up on some things that even if it’s not a couple but some things that maybe I could do better in my life or maybe some other people close to me in my relationships even if it isn’t a romantic partner so I sure appreciate the
