Why is bridal makeup more expensive than regular makeup?
Bridal makeup takes longer and is more customised than party makeup. Even if the makeup is simple, it can still take a long time. The makeup artist usually spends more time on the bride to make sure everything is perfect. Don’t rush this process. Carefully select each product so the bridal makeup looks and stays fabulous all day. Party bookings are simple and don’t require much planning. A client would ask about the artist’s availability and get a quote. If the artist is available and the client is happy, the booking is confirmed when the deposit is paid. The artist will be at the specified location on the day and ask the client about the look. The client would describe the look and show images, and the artist would do the makeup and leave. A party makeup booking lasts about 30-45 minutes. Bridal bookings are different. A bride’s big day is special, so everything has to be perfect! That’s why artists spend more time with brides than with other clients. Why? You only get one shot to look stunning on your wedding day! Bridal makeup requires a lot of planning and preparation for the big day.
How much should you spend on bridal makeup?
Bridal Hair and Makeup Costs: Bridal hair and makeup costs $150-$600. Brides usually pay about $300 for hair and makeup, depending on the hairstyle, products, and wedding makeup. Bridesmaid hair and makeup costs: About $150 per bridesmaid. This average cost is about $75 for makeup and $50-75 for hairstyling.
Which type of makeup is best for wedding?
Airbrush bridal makeup. Airbrush bridal makeup uses a spray to apply foundation to your skin, creating a natural look. Airbrush makeup lasts and is water-resistant, so it’s great for brides who want a long-lasting look that can withstand sweat, tears, and humidity. Airbrush makeup can cover imperfections without looking heavy. Airbrush makeup is good for all skin types, but especially for oily or combination skin, as it controls shine and prevents clogged pores. Airbrush makeup is more expensive than other types of bridal makeup and requires a skilled makeup artist to apply it correctly. HD Bridal Makeup. HD bridal makeup looks flawless on cameras and screens. HD makeup uses light-reflecting particles and pigments to make your skin look smooth and even. HD makeup is ideal for brides who want a glamorous, radiant look that will make them stand out in photos and videos. HD makeup can adapt to different lighting. HD makeup is suitable for all skin types, but especially for dry or mature skin, as it hydrates and plumps up the skin. HD makeup is harder to blend than other bridal makeup. It needs to be applied carefully to avoid streaks.
Mineral bridal makeup. Mineral bridal makeup uses natural minerals and ingredients to create a healthy look. Mineral makeup is great for brides who want a light, breathable makeup that nourishes and protects their skin. Mineral makeup can also provide light to medium coverage that enhances your natural beauty and gives you a fresh glow. Mineral makeup is good for all skin types, but especially for sensitive or allergic skin, as it can calm irritation or inflammation. Mineral makeup is limited in shades and finishes and requires a good brush to apply it evenly.
Which makeup brand is best for brides?
Bridal makeup artists use high-end makeup brands like MAC, NARS, Bobbi Brown, Urban Decay, Make Up For Ever, and Charlotte Tilbury.
Is Mac foundation good for a wedding?
Hannah Martin’s bridal foundation recommendations. I use MAC Face and Body, Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick, Lancôme Teint Idole, and Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin. They’re all hydrating and have coverage, but none have SPF.
MAC Studio Face and Body Foundation. Now 50% off!
Cher Webb’s bridal foundation recommendations. Armani Beauty Luminous Silk is a favorite and has been in my kit since the beginning. The foundation gives skin a radiant, semi-matte look that doesn’t look too shiny. It doesn’t need touch-ups. She also recommends the waterproof Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Foundation for fuller coverage, the buildable Nars Sheer Glow Foundation for medium coverage, and the light coverage Chanel Vitalumiere Foundation for a second-skin finish with a unique silky texture that hydrates, imparts instant radiance, and lasts.
Which makeup is best for bridal Mac or HD?
Airbrush makeup is for oily skin, while HD makeup is for all skin types. Brides who want light, sheer, or skin-like makeup can choose airbrush makeup. It can suit other skin types if the skin is prepared well. People with acne, scars, or lines can still use airbrush makeup. Some people think that airbrush makeup doesn’t hide acne or pigmentation because it’s sheer. But makeup brushes move the product out from the skin and make scars worse. Airbrushing covers acne scars and imperfections with a light layer of product.

Which Mac Foundation is best for weddings?
MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation: medium to full coverage matte finish foundation. This is one of MAC’s best foundations. It will give any bride a flawless look. Start bridal makeup well before your big day. Upgrade your bridal makeup kit in advance, even if you’re getting it done professionally. Have essential products so you can maintain your look until the end of the day. I’ll share some products I use on brides and in my kit for TV and editorial jobs.
Best foundation for brides. Your wedding foundation depends on your skin type and look. Most brides choose liquid foundation because it’s easy to blend and gives a “perfect skin” finish. If you like your foundation, you don’t have to change it for the wedding. Sometimes a different application technique will give you your desired look. It can be trickier to choose a foundation for a wedding than for daily use. Most brides want their skin to look perfect and Instagram-worthy, but they also want it to last all day. Choose a foundation that matches your wedding day skin tone. This could be your natural skin tone, a spray tan, or a more bronzed look.

The people saying it’s cakey are using the wrong adjective. She’s definitely not cakey at all, that foundation is quite light actually. It is however a full on glamour look. And there’s nothing wrong with that. It doesn’t suit everyone’s taste but it’s makeup, it’s fine. I think Tina looks beautiful, it’s obviously not an everyday look but the makeup artist used colors that really suited Tina’s skin tone. My one “criticism” would be less bronzer on the skin. Besides that, I loved this classic glam look!
Some of y’all some real haters. I think her friend did a nice job and gave her a look that she wouldn’t normally do on herself. Her face doesn’t look “cakey” as some of you described. Y’all forget that Tina has a lighting setup at home. The artificial indoor lighting will harshen and highlight the texture of ANYONE’S skin. It’s not cakey. Furthermore, everyone is saying they “don’t like western makeup” or the western style. Guess what?? It’s just for fun. Tina is doing something fun and out of the ordinary. I think it suits her well. Her makeup style in this article is very similar to CL from 2ne1 (a Korean music artist). Is this an everyday look? For some, maybe. But it’s just supposed to be a fun article. Y’all too serious about it. Let her live.
I love this look on you Tina! It’s not an everyday look but like you mentioned it’s the perfect glam makeup look. I can totally see you rocking this during holiday or at special events. The artist did a lovely job at accentuating your beautiful Asian eyes and keeping her lines crisp with the brows, liner and lips!
y’all are the biggest haters. the makeup looks great. it looks very polished and this is the kind of makeup that’s done for special occasions. I think it would be nice of Tina showed the makeup under her own lighting instead of the harsh department store lights. That would make it look more “accurate” because that’s the lightening we’re used to.
Wow! What a different look for you. Beautiful as always. I agree with some of the previous posters, that it looks very heavy. However, can you imagine how hard it must be to find that perfect look for someone on the spot. Or how nervous you’d be if you got to do Tinas makeup, on camera, posted on YouTube for thousands to see? Yikes! It also depends on the look your trying to achieve. Was that considered day wear, night wear, special occasion, or photo op? Please keep doing the make overs. It’s nice to see the variety of looks. 🙂
While not your usual makeup look, I think you look beautiful. I think the young lady doing your makeup chose really complimentary shades and her application was perfect. Not an everyday look but a night out on the town or special evening occasion, this was perfect. It is fun to step out of our comfort zone sometimes. Your nails are gorgeous.
Hey Tina, I’ve been following your articles for some time now. I love your articles and your personality! You make make-up products seem so much more approachable and fun. I’m 22 and have only started learning how to apply makeup. And I’m intimidated by the makeup counters in stores. I would love to continue seeing you get makeovers over different counters! Hopefully one day I’ll be confident enough to go in and get one myself 🙂
Honestly i don’t trust make up artists to do my make up since most of them don’t have a lot of experience with asian eyes and besides that all the artists i went to screwed up my make up so i’ll never let anyone touch my face again😂 i think if you have experience with make up, nobody will do your make up as good as yourself since you know your own features best (and also your style)
I don’t understand how people go to get their makeup done at makeup counters. I watched a friend of mine do that once and I was grossed out because the makeup artist was using pallets and lipstick that had obviously been used before. That seems so unhygienic. Was that a fluke experience or is that the norm?
usually when you do go to a counter you are going to get your make-up done for a event of some sort, so for the record she did an amaazingggg job ! if it were to be an everyday look for tina, obviously she knows her face best and can do the best on herself ! but for an overall glam look i think she did wonderful.
It’s good to pose various types of makeup look, even in the style that one is not accustomed to. Kinda knew the MUA would go to that direction – almost editorial but not yet. Although very minor and subject to personal preference, I’d apply some light concealer on the nasolabial folds lines especially near the nose. Just personal preference though.
I’m kind of scared to get a makeover — I’m not used to having heavy make up on my face and I’m worried that all american make-up counters will give me a look that’s completely not my style?? How should I go about approaching someone to ask for a makeover? also how much does it cost on average? ALSO I would feel bad if they did the makeover and I didn’t like it/I don’t want to buy the product….
Mashallah!!! 😍 I don’t understand a word of Arabic 😅 but your tutorial… Ufff 💞 I have learnt a lot with you in just 8 minutes than perusal all the guys I was subscribed to… The way you enhanced her beautiful features 🙈and the glowwww 😍 Thank you so much for sharing your talent!!! Got a new subscriber over here 💋
Congratulations on 1M 🙌 I happen to watch your article ‘How to Gel Liner’ while I was looking for a tutorial on how to draw a perfect liner because I never get it right and I had stopped tryingbfor a while.. Using the tricks taught in your article, I could master this with a week’s practice. Thank you for that and that is my most favourite article💗 I also loved ‘Full face of MAC’ tutorial on YouTube as I felt comfortable and got the look after trying twice 🤗 Please keep teaching us makeup like you always do and I hope someday I get to attend your masterclass 🤗🤗
I don’t understand Arabic, but this is seriously one of the best tutorials I’ve seen covering up imperfections and hyperpigmentation I’ve seen. That conceal and correct palette was used so perfectly! I’ve learned so much. Would really appreciate more English tutorials or English subtitles even, if you could, so I could learn more! Love the WOC model – she’s pretty much my skin tone yay (hard to find on YT!).
You’re so soft so gentle with the modals you know really well how a woman wants and how she wants to be treated and your make up is so stunning at each and every article I watch I want to recreate it and whished I got such a great talent mister, your website deserves much much more subscribers 🙄❤️ from Algeria 🇩🇿 blessings
Love the website. Thank you for doing different olive/ brown skin tones. Do you think you can get the models to pull hair back when you do make up tutorial.. It helps On how to follow the brushstrokes and how you do the jaw line. Also if you can do English subtitles that would be awesome! since I don’t understand any other languages. I’m looking forward to seeing more articles. Great job.
That was amazing!!!! I subscribed immediately 😀😀😀. I need a recommendation please- I have dry lips which flake at the end of the day. Which product would you recommend if I say I need to buy just one – Mac lip scrubtious, Mac prep and prime lip or Mac lip conditioner? I see you have used lip conditioner but will it remove flakes and also keep them moist? Thank you in advance!
Even since I ‘discovered’ you and your tutorials, I have stopped perusal other make up articles. You are amazing and achieve brilliant results every time. I have already started trying out a couple of looks. All the models are gorgeous with perfect skin but I could finally relate to this particular model as I also have a few blemishes. I don’t know Arabic so if this was in English that would help so much, essentially why use the colour conceal and corrector instead of foundation? If you are ever in London, I would be happy to model for you. 🙂
