Has Black Veil Brides Played In Warped Tour?

Black Veil Brides, an American rock band based in Hollywood, California, will lead one of the strongest contingents of hard rock acts at the Vans Warped Tour this summer. The band has played the festival before and returns with their self-titled fourth studio album. Black Veil Brides have undergone some changes over the years, but they are still known for their core concept of Rock N Roll.

The band’s first appearance on the Warped Tour was in 2011 for select dates on the Advent Clothing Stage. They returned in 2013 for the entire tour on the Kia Forte Stage and again in 2015 on the Shark Stage. Hawthorne Heights, Motion City Soundtrack, and Black Veil Brides will play the entire tour, while Bring Me the Horizon will be on board for shows between June 19-Aug. The Used will be on the lineup July 5-17 and July 25-31, and Bowling for Soup will join up.

Black Veil Brides are currently on the Warped Tour, playing on the Advent Stage. They were unable to perform for the first week or so due to Andy’s broken ribs. Alive And Burning will feature footage of Black Veil Brides’ sold-out hometown show in Los Angeles at the Wiltern Theater on November 1, 2014.

What is the Warped Tour controversy?

Many celebrities we look up to are not the idols we want them to be, especially in punk music. Sexual assault is common in the music industry. Male artists often use their power, age, and status to sexually exploit younger fans. Warped Tour, which ended in 2018, was a breeding ground for sexual misconduct. It was the longest-running music festival in the country. For decades, male artists used their vulnerability and stardom to connect with fans and give them a false sense of security. These artists could groom fans all over the country. Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman said in a Billboard interview that sexual assault is part of the culture. Lyman let Jake McElfresh, who goes by Front Porch Step, keep performing on the tour even after he was accused of having sex with minors. But McElfresh isn’t the only one to abuse his power. Other popular bands like Sorority Noise, Brand New, Pinegrove, and SWMRS have faced sexual misconduct allegations. I can only imagine how many stories there are. Warped Tour is over, but these injustices continue. They result from a culture of sexual exploitation and patriarchy. Abuse of power is common in alternative music, which attracts young and vulnerable people. It’s especially bad when it happens in a community that’s supposed to be progressive and inclusive.

A month ago, the band member who harassed me posted a statement about being catfished and blackmailed. He said he was having sexts with someone on Instagram, but it was a fake profile. This profile threatened to tell the world he sent explicit photos to a minor unless he sent them money. The musician said he asked the woman’s age and that the idea of being with a young girl made him sick. I couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity and irony of the situation. I had proof that it wasn’t true.

Was Eminem ever at Warped Tour?

They had mushrooms on stage and I was the mummy. Crazy story: When we got back to the tour bus, a manager said they found the guy who threw the bottle and asked if Eminem wanted to press charges. Eminem said no, and that was it. That was wild! Booing Eminem off stage now seems unreal, but back then he was not famous and the Warped Tour audience was diverse.

They were punker metal dudes and probably didn’t know who he was. Also, people say they were jealous, but it messed with my head. Everyone at school thought we were Eminem’s friends, but it left me feeling empty. It was so cool to hang out, but then we had to go home and back to school. I didn’t want it to end. I didn’t want a normal life. They kept touring and having fun, while I went back to a normal, boring life. It’s been so long, it doesn’t feel real. I just tell the story and have a few mementos. Another user asked Eric about drugs on tour. I heard a story about an unusual trophy Eric brought home after working with Eminem.

Why did Warped Tour get canceled?

In 2019, Lyman said on the Kerrang! Inside Track podcast that he wanted to end the tour after 25 years because he felt it had lost its community. The community made Warped Tour happen. Some of that was your fault. You should address the fans who complain on Twitter! I was talking to everyone, but you can’t really negotiate, debate, or educate on social media. Lyman said that some bands turned down Warped Tour because they didn’t want to be known as a Warped act.

This upset him, he said. In 1997 and 1998, Pennywise couldn’t judge a band until they met them in the parking lot. You’d be in line at catering because there were no dressing rooms. You’d meet musicians. Then I saw this community tearing itself apart over this band. People just disagreed with them or how they looked. They bashed the band online.

  • I had the pleasure of meeting Chris at a BVB show. Before their set he was walking by me and I said hi and he gave me a high five. Really nice guy. I almost lost it when Andy said,”We love you Chris”. To think that I was in the presence of someone that important to them makes me feel really sad, as Andy said, team tall guys forever. R.I.P. Chris.

  • I can see the pain in his eyes here.. He was really hurt.. It breaks my heart to see him hurt. People please stop saying how bad this sounds.. his close friend died like 4-5 days before this… Andy was out of it here.. all of the members were. It STILL hurts them badly even now. So please just leave them alone.

  • I literally discovered Black Veil Brides like 2 days ago and fell in love, and here are some observations I have made during that time: (I apologise for the fact that I only know Andy’s name, I blame Pinterest.) 1) Andy Biersack’s voice literally sounds nothing like I expected it to. HE’S SO PRETTY HOW CAN HE HAVE SUCH AN AWESOMELY RASPY GRAVELLY VOICE 2) Is that a woman on bass? I thought it was and got really excited then I googled and now I’m confused. 3) I am very quickly becoming emotionally dependent on seeing Andy’s smile several times a day 4) Their music contains much less screaming than I expected (yes I have listened to more than this song) 5) Batman?

  • I think if you compare the vocals and the expressions on a lot of there faces at this moment to other live performances you’ll realize that the reason they aren’t sounding exactly like they usually do might have something to do with Chris’s death I didn’t know him but he was a guitar tech for multiple bands including BVB, but obviously he was more, from what I know he would fill in if one of the guys couldn’t play. They would have formed a friendship so its probably pretty hard for them to do this right now, but they’re powering through it and celebrating his memory.

  • Why is loads of people hating on Ashley? Ashley can sing it’s just that his voice is high, people just stop hating if Ash couldn’t sing he wouldn’t be in the fucking band! I think Ash and the rest of BVB did an awesome performance that day even when there friend Chris passed away near Warped Tour they still put on an awesome performance. BVB are amazing & people need to stop being horrible to them, if u don’t like then don’t watch the article, it’s that simple!

  • Andy mostly sings through his throat when they preform live, wich is a bad habit because it doesn’t sound as clear, hurts your throat, it gets you off key, and can damage your voice. I use to sing from my throat when I did a musical and almost got strep throught, and my voice gave out during my solos. thats why you need to sing from your stomach

  • Ok people who are hating on the fact Ashley’s mic was sometimes louder than andy’s should just should just shut up,andy was very sick and Ashley had to sing louder for Andy. Another topic was also talked about in the comments saying Ashley can’t sing or that Andy can’t sing well… Like i said Andy was sick and Ashley has a beautiful voice so stop hating on him for no reason. (I’m not trying to start a fight I’m just saying my opinion)

  • Okay I’m probably gonna get so much hate for this, but in my opinion I don’t think Ashley’s singing was that bad. I just think his voice isn’t as strong as Andy’s but it was still really good. His mic was probably turned up to high, and he also sings in the songs. I don’t know I personally do think his singing was good but just wasn’t as strong.

  • At first I didn’t know who bvb where .when I started listening to their music I was blown away and their music has changed my life completelty. I just want to say thank u bvb for being such an inspiration and I can’t wait to see u perform in London next year this will be my first time seeing them perform .

  • To all the people who are saying that Andy sounded bad that day and that Ashley’s mic was to loud and that he was out of tune, I think it was a nice difference from just being able to hear Andy. Ashley has an amazing voice and having it at the forefront for this performance was really cool even if it wasn’t intensional.

  • They’re so young and adorable!!! I learned about BVB from my son when he was going through his ‘goth rock’ phase and I absolutely fell in love with them!! I’m a proud ‘mama bear’ and think of these guys like my own kids and will love them til ‘the end’!! Gorgeous and talented as hey will forever be!!💓🔥🤘

  • I’m honestly crying right nw caus I can’t b at warped tour since I live all the way in New Zealand. I’m almost 18 in like 20 something days nd I have never been able to c my fav bands caus either I was to young at the time or shitty advertising or caus they just don’t come here. It’s sad to think that I have never been to one concert before nd cant meet my heroes when people in America get to c them every year so many times. Same goes with youtubers 😞😥😭

  • I get that bands grow up and stuff but after STWOF I felt so disappointed I’m them. I’ve been a fan since I was 14 (I’m 21) and their fan base has seriously been shit. When they headlined in 2013 and they played old songs from We Stitch these wounds I noticed that no one around me sang along. I looked all around I the only people that sang along were some more older people in like I’m not even kidding, In their 50’s. And it’s been more based on Andy and his appearance. I didn’t really enjoy their set much. I was too annoyed by the girls behind me talking about how hot andy was.

  • I know tons of people are gonna hate me for saying this but I’m not sure they sound all that great live. Don’t get me wrong, I love these guys and their music, but songs like “Fallen Angels” kinda gets ruined for me and I think it’s mostly because Ash’s backup vocals overpower Andy’s mic. It almost felt like Ash was the one singing it.

  • He is good at screaming…. but when it comes to actually singing…. I saw better karaoke than his and their performance…. you would say that after all those years amateurs becomes pro’s… I allways wondered why is there so much voice coder in their song, and why do I feel that they are lacking something… now the answer is obvious: he has an intersing voice and tune, but he doesen’t know how to use it, or he is not able… also they are unorganized as fuck…. Now I also understand why I forgot about them for such a long time…

  • I was here for this show. I love BVB and Andy’s voice especially so. I’ve seen then in KY on the wretched and devine tour. It was amazing, I loved it. However, I would have loved to have actually heard him sing a lot more here. He seemed to be struggling a lot during this performance. After doing the harsh vocals at the beginning he seemed to have worn himself out. He continually gave the vocals to the crowd or simply didn’t sing. I was thrilled to have seen them, but disappointed as well. I hope he does better at the St. Louis show on Monday!

  • I don’t see why there is so much hate. I think they’re amazing live. I saw them three times and all of them were amazing. I actually went to this show in Pomona. Yes, Ashley’s mic overpowered Andy’s but I didn’t mind because Ashley is actually my favorite. I used to hate them but after their album Wretched and Divine, I loved them. Hope to see them again soon.

  • I so amazing to me how people just want to look for something to discredit extraordinary talented and awesome. however as awesome as they are they’re also human beingsand I would like to see these f******pick it apart ever accomplish or do even a smidgen of what these guys do every day …haters and obviously people that hate what they could never be. Black veil brides and Andy are phenomenal. ❤️
