How Can The Church Grooms Its Teenagers?

Grooming is a significant issue in the church, with many teenagers being groomed into becoming confused and ashamed of their sexuality. This is due to the church’s focus on discipleship rather than addressing the root causes of sexual abuse. The Bible provides five main images of the church: Family, Body, Bride, Temple, and Lamp stand. However, sexual content is often introduced within the first 30 minutes of online conversation in 69% of cases and within the first day in 98% of cases.

The church grooms people into being a certain type, such as tradwives. In the Christian sense, it means the church grooms people into being a certain type. The study found that sexual content was introduced within the first 30 minutes of online conversation in 69% of cases and within the first day in 98% of cases.

As much as 50% of all child abuse involves sexual grooming. While research on the subject has been increasing, there is still a lack of understanding and resources for youth leaders to create impactful youth group talks that guide teens towards a deeper understanding of their faith and a closer relationship with Jesus.

To become involved in ministry within your community, youth leaders should focus on engaging and relevant topics, biblical teachings, and biblical guidance. Engaging and relevant topics can help teens learn and grow in their faith. Churches need to understand that abusers are masterful at exploiting the positive qualities of their victims to groom and control them.

They may start by being friends. Then, they will use flattery, gifts, promises, and romantic gestures to start a romantic relationship. The predator often lies about their name, job, and other aspects of their life to confuse the adult victim. They do this to gain access, gain trust, isolate, and finally maintain control.

What are the 5 stages of grooming?

Grooming Stage 1: Targeting the Victim. … Stage 2: Get the victim to trust you. … Stage 3: Meeting a need. … Stage 4: Isolating the Child. Stage 5: Sexualize the Relationship. … Stage 6: Control. … Break the cycle. … If you think a child is being groomed, what should you do? What is grooming? Grooming is a way of getting close to a child so that the perpetrator can exploit them. Grooming is often hard to spot. The perpetrator will seem like a loving and attentive adult. The child’s reaction to this attention is the best way to know if they are comfortable. Grooming often happens before or during abuse. Grooming Dynamic. People who abuse children may gain their trust by grooming them. This process starts with finding victims, getting their trust, and making them less safe. These tactics are often used on potential victims and their caregivers. Once the perpetrator has gained access to children and youth, they initiate some kind of contact that is sexually gratifying for them. This sexual contact can be anything from watching to raping children. Grooming lets the offender get close to the victim and makes it less likely that the crime will be found out. Child sexual abusers are often people the family knows. They can be friends, neighbors, or even family members. The offender may be known to the family because the child or youth takes part in an organization or activity, such as school, a community club, sports team, recreation center, or camp. The perpetrator exploits the child because they have power based on age, experience, size, strength, and adult status. A perpetrator may use their power to gain the youth’s trust and confidence or to scare them into doing what they want. This is not always the case with CSA. In many cases, there is no trust.

  • I’m a teenager ( I’m 16 years old) and I already experienced where other teenagers made fun of believing in God. I already lost a good friend 1 month ago because I had to tell her I can’t support what she actually does (She is transgender and bisexual). I told her that I don’t hate her neither does god but I never told her “I don’t wanna be friends with you anymore”… She was the one who left me. Well first she said something like “Wtf… grow tf up” and she was trying to tell me that there are lgbt christians out there and the bible “never ” talked about that being trans or being is a sin which is wrong. I showed her where the bible said that being gay is a sin and after that she just blocked me (It was a conversation on whatsapp). Few months ago I heard my only true friend from school talking with others about sex. They said “I can’t understand girls who want sex after marriage. The poor guy…no wonder if he cheates on her” and I didn’t say anything but internally I got mad and it hurted me… Sadly I don’t have any christian real life friends but I have a few christian internetfriends gladly.

  • Hey, Allen– I’m a teenager. OK, truth out, I turned a teenager in 1967, but I wanted to thank you for taking the time to point these concepts out to today’s young people. I also have to tell you that, even though I’m a teenager plus, these concepts are just as true and pertinent for me today as they were in 1967. We never get too old to influence our culture toward a more Christ-centered basis.

  • its definitely a lot easier for people especially as teens to live a life of sin, and have no regard, accountability, or conviction for their actions, but its so much more fulfilling to live a responsible life and to have that relationship with our Savior. Living in righteousness might be harder, but nothing worth having is ever gonna be easy.

  • When I was eleven years old “I gave my life to Jesus” I put these words in quotes because I didn’t really know what it meant. But within the next year, I learned what it truly meant and why I need to give my life to Jesus. How he changed my life, How he helped me in my life, etc. Now I’m 12 and I can truly say I give my life to Jesus. Even though I’m 12 nothing pressures me and even though I have a lot to learn I an do it with Jesus by my side.

  • I have been cursing, perusal things i shouldnt be and more. And I am just now trying to get om the right track even though Ive been going to church everday. So please pray for me and ask God that I can grow to be the Christian he needs. And pray that I can distsnce myself from the non-christian things. Love you all! Im 13 btw

  • I’m 17 this year. I was born in a Muslim family but I never believed in it. After a while, I felt lost and yearned for the love of god so I tried praying to Allah but I never felt anything and it felt so forced so I started doing research on other religions. 3 months ago, i decided to pray to the holy trinity for the first time. I kneeled and opened my heart and prayed. I started crying because of the amount of love I felt after opening my heart to the Holy Spirit. Now I’m a Christian and life feels so much better than it’s ever been because I know god is always here for me. ❤️ praise the lord

  • I’ve been perusal your youtube website for a couple months now. I’ve been a Christian my whole life. I’m 17 now and as I continue to grow spiritually, I am seeing ungodly things happen around me, in America, and the world. I know I have a purpose and God has given me so many gifts and talents. I just want to spread God’s love to everyone in this world. I know it wont be easy but I do dedicate my life to Jesus Christ.

  • I’m so blessed to see all the teens that commented 👍🏻❤ Thanks Allen for doing this article 📽 I shared it with my soon to 13 year old Son. My heart goes out to the youth.💞 Stand strong. Keep seeking and putting God 1st. Super proud of you all. Thanks again Allen! I hope you continue on with addressing issues our precious youth have to deal with. Hugs, from Montana

  • Hi I am living for Jesus I am only 14 and already decided to give my life to the one true king who died for me and I believe in him with all my life I am so happy to spend the rest of my life with a father who will never stop loving me and who is a God who forgives u and he is just so amazing I could talk about him all day to people explaining how awesome and cool and how much he can change your life it is such a honor to be chosen by God and follow the purpose he has for you god loves you so much ❤and will never stop

  • I prayed for the school choir at the end of practice for the first time today. God gave me the courage to go forward and ask them to close their eyes. Others did leave but I am so happy that many stayed and prayed with me. It’s not easy but it is definitely worth it❤️don’t be afraid to represent Jesus in a secular environment especially university.

  • I’m 17 and i must say .. i have strayed away from God. After starting high school, I started cheating on exams and copying homework. My prayer life became almost nonexistent and I no longer stood true to my morals. But I’m ready now to change and become a soldier for Christ. Thanks for the article. It’s very helpful.

  • Honestly, I strayed away from God during my first 2 years of highschool. I’ve repented and I’m building my relationships with him everyday. I’m afraid of speaking out against what is wrong because I’m a sinner and I’ve done some bad things. How so I speak out without sounding like or being a hypocrite?

  • I started praying for opportunities to witness to pupils and staff in my school I’m in secondary school doing exams and the lord’s answering prayers and I’ve witnessed to 3 people so far and I’m praying for a revival in my school and others please prey for more opportunities for me please to spread the word

  • I’m 19 year old born of a Christian family and it’s been such a rough journey finding myself steadfast in my Christian life but this year I gave myself up and let Jesus take over after being lukewarm, I’ve been labeled all sort of things at school and at work but God’s just showed His amazing strength of forbearance through me. Thank you for this article I believe it’ll help me and many other teens.

  • Thank you. As a young teen myself I can tell you it’s only gonna get harder. Even in areas filled with Christian values young people have really left God behind. Many people say they are saved yet do not live for God. In fact some of these luke warm Christians make fun of people who follow the Bible’s teachings. There are very few left who are truly perusing God. I thank the Lord that he has made me stubborn enough to resistant. I try to keep my eyes on God and look forward to my reward in heaven.

  • 18 constantly trying to cause the ignorance to seek the name of Jesus through my fellow peers. Sometimes when reiterating about Jesus Christ, people won’t listen. Too many atheists teens nowadays. I’m always saying to them salvation can only be obtained through Jesus and how they can’t walk with God holding hands with the Devil. They have grown to close to Satan’s demons were it can whisper lies into the gullible ears. People don’t forget were we come from.

  • I’m 15 and I was a lukewarm christian but the lord saved me. I need guidance to know what I can and can’t do. I’ve been praying and perusal testimony and reading my bible. I respect and follow the commandants and stray away from the deadly sins, though I’m struggling with sloth. I’m gonna buy a study bible and start studying.

  • I am 13 years old and I watch some of your articles to gain so inspiration and motivation sometimes I have a hard time sharing because the people in my school aren’t really people with values, most of them are un believers sometimes I feel like I am being influenced by my own friends and I wish I wasn’t but I am on bold enough to stand out sometimes please pray for me I want to be more bold

  • I find it hard to be a Christian sometimes as I’m 16 and my mum isn’t Christian and none of my friends are either. I don’t go to a Christian school and sometimes I feel myself getting caught up in the influences of my mum and friends doing the wrong thing. My boyfriend is Christian (he is the reason I am) and I go to church but I’m only in Christian surroundings 20% of the time. I just find it really hard to recognise what behaviours are wrong sometimes as I’m exposed to such a variety

  • I’m 11 and turning 12 in a weeks time, but I never knew how hard it is to be a Christian. My mum (lukewarm) says to stop reading the bible because it’s “stressing me out” and I want to talk to her about Jesus but she would kill me if I told her she was lukewarm. I usually don’t do this cause I feel like im seeking attention, but any prayers will be appreciated.

  • #JCgang Also, I respect people (treat your neighbour as yourself) but then I don’t agree with LGBT views. It is really hard and I’m glad you have done this article as it has greatly helped me on my journey. And if anyone reads this I just want to tell you that I have been told that “going to church does not count as socialising and that you are stupid to go to it”. And if people ever say that to you what I suggest is that praying helps. God led me from depression in the course of 2 nights all because I remembered to pray. Have faith everybody. P.S. Can you (Allen) do more articles like this? Please and thank you.

  • Hello Allen. I am a Muslim and I really like spending time perusal your content. I am always curious about theology and I love Jesus, the Messiah of God who was sent for the Children of Israel. The Qur’an says- وَلَقَدْ كَرَّمْنَا بَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ وَحَمَلْنٰهُمْ فِى الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ وَرَزَقْنٰهُمْ مِّنَ الطَّيِّبٰتِ وَفَضَّلْنٰهُمْ عَلٰى كَثِيرٍ مِّمَّنْ خَلَقْنَا تَفْضِيلًا “And We(God) have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land and sea and provided for them of the good things and preferred them over much of what We have created, with (definite) preference.” (QS. Al-Israa 17: Verse 70) It’s God who has honored us so that we can walk with our heads held high and I, as a Muslim have sincere respect for you since we both love and adore Jesus, on whom be peace who is so near and dear to our heart. Keep up the good work. 👍🏻

  • Finding your website last week has changed my perspective. U always hit the nail and having a back up with the scripture. Am 18 and leaving out side of my country for almost two years now. Most of my friends smoke, party around and all those ungodly stuffs but as a lover of God and want to be used by God I want to stand out and try my best to change them. I don’t want to be a teen to be influenced by their character but a teen that will change the culture around me by his grace. This article just trigger me to stand out even more no matter what🙏💯. Thank you. God bless.

  • It’s crazy because I go to a catholic school and they still live wrong. Kids at school swear, make dirty jokes, don’t read the word, and blindside. I choose to talk to my friends about the Bible and living right, but only one of them repented. We need Jesus in our generation more than any other time.

  • You guys I am an 18 year old teen my name is Darren… I have a high lack of seeking Jesus everyday as Jesus told us to(daily bread) I ask that u guys put me in prayer so that I can be released from the bondage of the sins I fail to overcome… you can drop your name below and I will most definitely pray for you too

  • To every preteen and teen perusal this. I’m proud of you. It’s not easy having a relationship with God but it’s the BEST thing you can do. At times it’ll be uncomfortable it’s better than being comfortable in your flesh. Doing the right thing at times may feel wrong but doing the wrong thing feels right, please, keep going don’t let others make you feel bad for having values and being a follower of Christ. I love you but God loves you more!! 🙏🏽💕☺️

  • Thank you so so much for this article I watched it well we listened to it this morning in the car on the drive to school my son is going to be 12 years old here soon and I have a great deal of concern for his keeping the Faith as he goes to a very large school and he visits his father on the weekend who is an unbeliever if you can make more articles for the youth that would be awesome and greatly appreciate it because I know I’m not the only mother here who heard this and was thanking God that you took the time to make it I will be forwarding this to all of my friends thank you again so much and God bless you for what you do

  • Im 18. I can’t tell you how fast I clicked when I saw this article because of the content and because I don’t go to Church, sadly. I’ll share it with my friends. Your words are more meaningful because they direct us towards the Word and the life of a young man like ourselves – Daniel. Overall, I enjoyed every point, but I mostly appreciated the point on integrity and spiritual discipline. These are foundational traits any young Christian should have. Thank you, Sir. God bless and Keep you.

  • my biggest problem right now is lusting😣 i got baptized at 14/15 and lost my way im now 20 years old trying to get back but after being introduced to a lot is stuff it’s so hardddddd temptations are real i’ve been praying about it but i know i need to work harder and know how to say no and fight the urge… there so many things i want to talk about at my church but the members tent to ignore those questions like sex, masterbation, weed smoking etc i wish there was a page or a person who could shine some light on those areas.

  • Off topic but funny/wholesome story for the day. Last night I was at a restaurant with my grandfather when the owner was talking with some customers next to us. She said “So my four year old granddaughter isn’t buying religion.” The customer said “Oh really?” She said “Yeah I asked her ‘Who built the ark?’ she said ‘No one’ I said ‘No, his name is No-AH’” the kid couldn’t pronounce it correctly. Have a good day.

  • 5 things Daniel did to change the culture around him: 1. Have Values. Daniel 1:8 2. Have Courage. Daniel 3:16-18 Willing to be unpopular lose friends 3. Have Integrity. Daniel 6:4 4. • Guys (and ladies) can you pray for me. I’m 17, I’ve been a Christian for almost a year. My old(getting to that) guitar teacher of almost 3 is a Christian and he gave me a Bible. I always believed that the Bible was the truth, and but I only went on what I knew, had doubts, and wouldn’t read more out of fear of change. He’d very frequently drop the truth on me and talk with me of it while teaching me. One day, something in me finally collapsed and I gave in, it was about the end of June. I didn’t know how to tell my parents out of fear of a harsh reaction, not knowing what to do, and it ended up coming out at a very bad time if I was looking for a good reaction from them (They both can have very short tempers and my brother’s OCD has taken him over and he isn’t the same as he once was). They let me go to my guitar lessons one more time, and after that, they cancelled them, my father forbade me from talking with him, as I was a lot trying to see if he could help ease the situation, and they took my Bible. He said bring it downstairs and I brought it downstairs and put it on the dining room table, I ate and then left for school. When I got home, it was gone, and I haven’t seen it since. I have no intention of giving up on this, as I know that this IS the truth, but it gets hard for me. I’m very reserved when talking to people I don’t frequently talk to, and my teacher was the only person I could talk to about this. I just feel very lonely, and spend most days thinking about all of this to the point where it keeps me from getting things done (like during this pandemic my schoolwork)I’d just appreciate it if anyone could pray for me, or maybe just write some words of encouragement below, as hearing anything from anyone about this in positive light would be incredibly helpful and encouraging.

  • I remember during lent I got so much into religion. Like every night writing letters to God. But as time went by I lost my way and got into sin. My life went downhill from there and sooner or later I just felt worse everyday. But I would never forget the days i was close to God. I remember everything going well and life was happier. My problem? My friends which are terrible influences which i want to leave, but i can’t. I wish to go back into the life i enjoyed

  • Hey Allen, thanks for your amazing content when I needed it most. Can I ask a question regarding point 2? When you say that we should have courage, and when our friend are smoking/talking about sex and stuff like that, having courage does it mean saying “I think you all should stop talking about these kind of thing as it is inappropriate” or do we just walk away and not get involved in the conversation? Have a amazing day!

  • You are a well versed Fallen Church member like many of them are, Allen!!! Right of the bat you tell the story of Daniel how righteous and a good boy he was without mentioning he was chosen by our Father in Heaven and was lead by the Holy Spirit to do what his life will be about. All these people along with Noah, Abraham, Moses, etc, and all the Prophets in the Old Testament were chosen by our Father in Heaven. They were all under sin like everyone else!!! I thank my Father in Heaven He saved me before I was deceived by the Fallen Church teachings!!! I only started to attend a church congregation two years after I was saved and born again spiritually when the Holy Spirit entered and reside in me giving me the assurance personally He will never leave me!!! The Fallen churches teachings is very believable and sounds very good to the still lost and blind, but not to the true saved spiritually born again with our discernment of TRUTH comes from the Holy Spirit residing in us!!!

  • I’m 11 and praising God but I had the chance to praise him because my family goes to Church but I was always not paying atteion but before I used to always praise God when I needed helped when something happened to me that was only time when I prayed while I also prayed at night but that was it it was not good I ask forgiveness for taking him for granted and now Jesus is my lord and Savior

  • Hi, Allen. I love your content, but I want to talk to you about something I want you do to a article on the Orthodox branch of Christianity. I just want you to bring some light into it (since I think you are a Catholic,) and I want you to learn more about my faith as an Orthodox, and maybe teach some of your fans about it too!

  • How can I defend my faith? Every time I attempt to spread the gospel, ppl will always ask questions that I don’t have the answer to or just flat out ignore me, and say things about christianity that are far from the truth. I now understand that I must come prepared before spreading the gospel by reading HIS word more but I need help in this area. I’m 18 btw, God bless you and thank you so much for this article 💕

  • I appreciate the share. Good points. I was looking for something for a public school Fellowship of Christian Students. Unfortunately you are too explicit about types of sex so I cannot share it at school in future teen oriented articles, please keep this in mind. Also, you say, you’ve probably heard, read, studied about Daniel (paraphrase). Your viewers may not have heard about whomever. The majority of students in my club never went to church. The points are great make it more listener appropriate and inclusive.

  • being different/counter-cultural and desiring that above all else regarding your outward identity is so important at our age. it shows God that we hate sin and love Him, and that we forsake the acceptance of others and count it as worthless in comparison to the identity that He calls us to. surrendering what we want from others which is pointless and diving into our Savior’s character

  • Becoming a Christian was the best decision I ever made and ever will. It is a struggle though bc my family are lukewarm Christians and I don’t know how to tell them that I have fully given my life to god (I just turned 14) . I’m becoming more distant from my friends and family but I am beginning to realize that I barely need them bc I have Jesus. Anyways other than that My life has been getting better and better day by day. I’m praying for everyone and I love all of y’all 💜

  • I’m 14 I fully gave my life to God in 2020 March I was born in a Christian home I love God so much he is so Amazing and loves you so much and it’s really worth accepting God He is so good 😁🔥👸🏽God really transformed me I went from 😭💔😔 to 💖😊😁👸🏽 never give up on God He loves you so much God bless you and guide you all in Jesus name Amen

  • I’ve been a hypocrite Christian all my life trying to save my image by doing good yet I became atheist when I entered senior high and first yr college. Now, I’m 20 and second yr. college. I discovered Allen Parr and American Gospel then boom! I had convictions and right there, I’ve decided to study the true Gospel with repenting and trusting alone in Jesus Christ❤️ These days of our generation surely challenging to be a true Christian, but with God nothing is impossible. Thank you for spreading the True Gospel.

  • Hello, I’m 13 years old and I’m beginning this journey and trying my hardest to accept it and I absolutely believe in Jesus and everything surrounding him but my mind feels like it’s doubting that though I know in my heart I accept Jesus. Is there something I can do that will “sync” my mind to my heart?

  • I’m 16 and I think I have scrupulosity. It’s difficult because I don’t really have friends to hang out with because I’m afraid of saying or doing something that God does not want me to do and I have horrid thoughts. I’m scared of getting treatment because I feel like my scrupulosity is the only thing that is stopping me from going back to my old ways😫

  • Im 13 and even tho I believed in God my whole life, I only realised now that being a christian is not all hearts and rainbows. I’m scared of lying to God or myself, I’m scared of going to hell, scared of being lazy, scared of it all sometimes. I know that its good, but I’m scared that I’m committing the unforgivable sin, since I’m completely questioning my feelings. I’m feeling weird when I’m not with God, and idk why exactly.

  • I’m just a month over 20; born again when I was 18. But yes I admit it I was always ostracized and rejected even prior. So the way I look at it is I was always designed for Christianity, seeing that I never fit in anywhere else, and used to be very lonely and depressed as a result. I mean I had/have virtually nothing to lose (nothing considerable), and everything I could ever possibly want, for me to gain. God could’ve allowed my brain hemorrhage to kill me and at the time I was unsaved/hellbound, but instead He performed a miracle in me because He loved me, I was precious in His sight and He hadn’t used me to help advance His Kingdom yet.

  • Are there any bible study books or commentaries you could recommend for a begginer. Theres so many options but you have to be careful because it could end up being someones opinion you read rather truth to explain the word. Lots of twisted doctrine to look out for. I’m looking for one that could apeal and make sense to my young family nembers and also elder if you coukd recommend a few. I’m currently reading the evidence bible but the commentary is kind of limited in some ways I think there needs to be balance. It is a very helpful bible though theres facts and explanations for other things that are helpful its worth checking out

  • Please help me. I’m having trouble understanding Corinthians 10:31. I don’t really understand how to bring glory to God in EVERYTHING. What does this verse mean? Does it mean that every time a child plays a pretend game he is sinning? Because I don’t see how playing a game could glorify God. Because isn’t glorifying God in everything the same as doing everything as a service for him? PLEASE RESPOND

  • Iam John Wesley…. And I am from India…. 15 years old…. I love Jesus Christ…. Nothing is more important than God….. As Christians… It’s our obligation to preach the gospel of truth…. I mean to preach about true God… And as teenager’s… We have to make all the people to go through a right way… And right God.. May Jesus Christ our Lord and savior…. Bless everyone abundantly✝️🥰…

  • Summary: 1. Values Determine what is important to you and do not tresspass it. (I will not get into drugs and alcohol) 2. Courage Be willing to do something for the lord, even though it maz cost you popularity etc. 3. Integrity Be clean and hold the law of God. 4. Excellence Do not be mediocre, do your very best at everything you do and have high standards, (Be careful to not have too high standards) 5. Discipline Have discipline like Daniel. He prayed 3 times every day. Study the Word of God, worship, fast and pray every day.

  • So I could use some advice here. A few days ago my friend and I got into an argument about religion (I was making sure I wasn’t being hostile or snapping but she felt like I was), and then it got to the point where we were trying to wrap it up, and I was really trying to end the conversation, but just as it was about to end she would make some false accusation about Christianity (which she thought was true) so then I’d try to explain but then she kept getting more irritated, saying I was forcing it on her. I felt like if I had stopped then things wouldn’t have gotten so heated, but I also felt like it would be dishonoring God by leaving it at a false accusation. Was I doing the right thing or should I have stopped? I’m wanting her to come to Christianity, and I felt like I had just pushed her away but I also didn’t think it was right to practically admit that those false accusations were true. This has been really bothering me because I felt like no matter what I did I was doing something wrong.

  • Of every time I have cheated in school I haven’t felt conviction about it in the slightest. Some say it is lying to the teacher about what you know, but then wouldn’t guessing on a test also be a sin? Some say it is stealing but no one is losing anything, how can someone steal from an endless supply? I don’t cheat so I can brag, I just want to get through school, and have it not absorb all my time and energy. I don’t want to occupy my mind and my time with something trivial like some of the ridiculous work I’m being forced to do at school. Is there something I am not seeing?

  • Daniel was NOT thrown in the Fiery Furnace with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Daniel, who was “ruler over the entire province of Babylon and . . . in charge of all its wise men” (Daniel 2:48), had been sent away on an assignment by Nebuchadnezzar and was therefore not present at the event described in Daniel 3. Contrary to what much of modern art depicts, most scholars believe that Daniel was a fairly old man, likely in his early 80’s when he was thrown into the lion’s den.

  • Bruh I use umoung us to spread the word of Christ it’s very effective on adults who play the game and the best part is if you have social anxiety like me you don’t have to actually look into there eyes trust me it’s a great little way to put Jesus into peoples heads at night now obviously you want to personally interact with people around you to but using the internet is a great way just to get people a little fascinated in it

  • Acts 2:40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Jeremiah 3:15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. Matthew 25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! 2 Corinthians 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. Daniel 6:26 I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Ecclesiastes 11:7 Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun: Luke 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Song of Solomon 1:3 Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.

  • I’m glad the female abuser just looks like an average woman and not a gross monster. Never understood why in these situations in fiction women had to be inhumanly ugly or else you couldn’t justify a man not enjoying their advances. Her approach also isn’t overly creepy, just a tender kiss, but he is still completely justified in not liking it.

  • I got abused by my gym coach from ages 15-17. However, I took me until recently (I’m 22 now) to realise this. Had no idea at all at the time as I was a naive kid. I’m from a very broken home (alcohol abuse, domestic violence) so was a vulnerable kid. Fitness was literally my life at that point and my escape from my harsh household. Slowly what started off as a coach/ student relationship turned into a weird relationship. He’d call me his son, offer me lifts home, overly praise me, guilt trip me whenever I wanted to leave, invite me into his home. I can’t believe I fell for it for so long. Still I haven’t recovered til this day.

  • It’s good how they portray anyone being the victim and the abuser regardless of gender. Especially since that whenever I have the “audacity” talk about what happened to me I either get mocked, get told that it wasn’t r@pe because I am a male, or get told that it happens to women more, etc. I swear the amount of times I get told that is appalling.

  • I told my brothers and my dad about a story I heard where a young boy, 10—12 years old, was raped by his 20-something year old babysitter and she got pregnant. Their reaction? “Go, little man!” It disgusted me. It STILL disgusts me. This mindset of “oh men can’t be sexually assaulted, by women especially” or “dang, how lucky” is freaking hideous. I hate it. What is wrong with our society?

  • Last year, I was groomed by my best friend. It got to the point where he told me that he was the only one for me and I would never find anyone better. I believed him because he was my best friend, I saw him as a son (it was all online). He praised me and told me weird things and called me uncomfortable names. I didn’t realise this was happening until 4 months later after he lost interest and left me because I wouldn’t send nudes. I only just started speaking up about it a month ago. It’s hard to speak up, but we can all do it.

  • Sometimes you can have no idea what’s happening for a long time. Sometimes you can realise what’s happening right from the get-go, but even then you still don’t know how to escape. There are so many different kinds of situations where sexual abuse can happen, and it can happen to anyone. Males, females, children, adults. It can happen in a workplace, in a school, in your own home. I can’t believe this still happens. It’s really not okay. I’m glad we have people like you raising awareness about these kinds of things.

  • Sexual abuse is rampant in public schools, too, but there really isn’t any light shone on that. Teachers, janitors, coaches, etc. They just transfer the offender to another school. It’s called “passing the trash.” This a very good and effective article, thanks! It may save some children from this devastating horror.

  • It took me three years to recover from trauma after I was sexually abused by my workmate from work since I was 20 and now I’m 23. Having PTSD is a serious mental problem, so in my opinion if you guys are experiencing flashback or difficulty of relieving yourself, talk to psychiatrist/psychologist. After perusal the article about church, I don’t want to say this but it is sometimes true that there are some pastors who likes to manipulate you if you’re reliable to their church. If someone is touching you or you don’t feel comfortable to be treated by flirting on you, you have the rights to speak up on yourself because if you didn’t speak up for yourself, your enemy wouldn’t stop disrespecting you. I want to also add that in my opinion as a young guy who was sexually abused by 30 years old women, mens have also rights to slap the women if they sexually assaulted men.

  • Finally, a well animated story time website that doesn’t make fake stories about 6 year old kids getting impregnated by their dog. But in all seriousness, this really shows that men can get groomed and abused by woman. Abuse is never ok and I’m glad to see that this article shows that even men can get assaulted and not just woman. Abuse is never ok, and if you are a victim of it, please tell someone you trust. Even if it seems like no one will believe you, there’s always someone holding you back. Edit: how and why did this get attention?

  • I love this website, it shows others what people think while they r being harassed, and unfortunately i have been harased like this before. People just say” oh. Its just the past, get over it”but i cant, everyday i think about it, its hard to let go of something that really traumatized you, it stresses me out alot.

  • I’m glad to see someone using the term “grooming” properly to refer to a legitimate and actual threat that could come from anyone, rather than misusing it to refer to LGBTQ+ people (and trans people specifically) to dehumanize them And more importantly, it’s great to show that predators are typically more likely to be people who know you well than total strangers. It can come from anyone, and “stranger danger” isn’t enough to be safe from it. This is very helpful.

  • My whole life my mom told me that when I was a small child, she just assumed everyone was a pedophile by default. That always seemed so extreme to me until I realized what she meant as I got older: these things happen because people say “Oh he would never do that! Oh she’s not that kind of person!” And at that point it’s too late. Not everyone is a pedophile, and most people would never harm a child. But don’t ever convince yourself that someone is incapable of doing so, because that’s what allows abuse to happen right in front of you, in school, in public, or in your very home.

  • I unfortunately was groomed when I was 11 to 12 by a 20 something year old man on discord.. He gained trust and manipulated and talked about..explicit stuff with me and all that stuff..I knew it was wrong and I was so scared. But I didn’t tell anyone because at the same time I cared about him.. I trusted him. One day when I turned 12 I finally had enough of what he was doing to me and so I left a server he put me in, unfriended him and blocked him. I’m so glad I could get myself out of that situation and I’m glad nothing happened to me physically..though the disgusting shit he talked about and said to me and asked me to do (obvi refused) still sticks with me.. Though I’m free now :))

  • Love this article! Got groomed online, had an online friend I joked around with. He had more ’dirty humor’ but other then that no real red flag. So saw him as an aquintance. Then he send me nude without my consent. Told him What the f and he Said sorry. But I blocked him shortly after. I was 14. Thanks for making this article and explaining so good both stories

  • I appreciate this website for showing more male sexual assault survivors. It pisses me off that society treats men as if they’re disposable and don’t matter. I remember an episode from Tyler Perry’s House of Payne where Cj was being sexually harassed by his female boss, a little context Cj is married to Janine and at this point in the season they had remarried and started their lives over, and I felt really bad for Cj and thought about other dudes who experienced that. And Curtis really pissed me off when he said he always wanted to be sexually assaulted by a woman, as if it’s some thrilling fantasy. It’s just as sickening if the genders were swapped. It’s not hot to coerce someone to do something they don’t want to do. It’s appalling and you should go to prison. 2:14- I disagree with Aba, gay people DO NOT get a free pass to sexually assault someone. 2:22- The paster is sick makes me think of catholic priests who molest little boys.🤢🤮 2:30- That’s power, not love. 2:58- To any men out there who experienced sexual assault and/or abuse from a woman, I’m so sorry how the world treats you. I’m sorry for the hypocritical double standards and sexism you faced. I’m sorry how you guys are treated as if you don’t matter.

  • I’m Christian and it just pains me to see someone who has dedicated their life to God, do something like this. A lot of Christians claim they believe in God without an actual personal connection to him. The whole point of a follower of God is to tell others about the Gospel and be kinda like a gateway for them to grow closer to the Lord and Jesus. Some sadly take advantage of that and use that to fulfill their sinful desires.

  • Grooming can happen to adults. It happened to me at my last job(I was 31/32 at the time). This 55 year old man who worked in the deli told me that he saw me as more than a friend, after having friendly conversations and giving me little gifts or money. I told my bosses who told him to stay away from me, but he didn’t listen. I told my dad, who’s a 6′ 4″ grizzly bear of a trucker, and he came to my work one day(I was on my lunch break when he came). When the guy came in for his shift, he immediately came to me and tried to give me money, but I insisted that he keep it. When he got to the backroom, my boss took him back where my dad was waiting, and he told my dad that he was a “Christian man who believed in marriage before sex”, which made my dad furious and he tried to play dumb and said he was “a little slow” when my dad told him I had said I didn’t see him the way he saw me and that the gifts and money giving made me uncomfortable. He warned him that if he didn’t stay away from me, period, that the law would get involved. He pretty much quit his job in the deli after that. But about a month later, he showed up at church one Sunday, and my mom and I sat as far away from him as we could get. He testified in church saying that he wanted to thank his “Good friend Lauren” for encouraging him to go to church again and said that he’d been sick for a while and asked the church to pray for him to get better. After the service, my mom and I were going to a baptism later that afternoon and we were waiting on our friends to finish up so we could all hang out until it was time to go to the baptism.

  • I was Lucas, i help him bcs i thought i was helping God. I was a clueless teenager, i didn’t see any red flags bcs he was hiding it perfectly in front of others. It happened inside the church, in his office, i was helping him with his sermon projector presentation. Every few day has been a fawkin nightmare since. I became depressed and slowly loosing my faith. Now I’m 21, and until this day i cant handle physical touch with other people without this nightmare. I’ve only told 1 person ever in real life.

  • One of the worst things about grooming is that it is so common in places like church. We are taught at a young age that everyone in the church is to be trusted. But, I learned over the years that church-goers aren’t any better than the rest of the people out there. People in the church are as capable and willing to commit a crime such as grooming and abuse as any other person out there. When I was young, there was a guy my family and I dubbed “Mr. Huggy”. He always asked for hugs from us kids EVERY week without fail. And, my parents said we weren’t allowed to say ‘no’ to a hug. We had to hug everyone who ever asked. And, there were many times hugging that man felt so incredibly weird. He seemed to favour my hugs over my brothers’, and it sometimes felt really uncomfortable to hug him. But, it was the church: we weren’t allowed to seem “unfriendly” to others. But, I look back at that and think…if I had been allowed to choose whether I should give hugs or not, maybe I wouldn’t have been so willing to let an older man rub my shoulders so he’d think it was okay to try and take me out to a hoe-down outside town in the middle of the woods (never went, but my parents didn’t even suggest going to the police after I explained it all). Let children know that they NEVER have to accept hugs or touch if they don’t want it! They are allowed to choose the touch they receive, and if we don’t teach them that, they’ll think that all touch is fine, no matter what it is. We should ALWAYS teach our children to listen to those gut feelings if those feelings say ‘something is wrong’.

  • As someone who has gone through grooming and sexual abuse (even though it’s not as severe as others, which I’m thankful for), I’m very grateful for this article. It shows that people, no matter what, can be abused and get hurt, and that there are ways to end it, usually by facing the issue itself, or leaving. No matter what, no one should be abused for any reason, not physically, not mentally, not emotionally, and not sexually, and manipulating them to do things their uncomfortable with is wrong. I have a lot more things I want to say, but, I feel like it would be irrevelant or redundant, so I’ll leave this comment with this: Thank you for teaching about abuse and not making it pretentious or treating it as a joke.

  • this actually helps me understand that it is wrong when u feel uncomfortable. i have an uncle that really loves me because of my popularity in school because of my good behavior and grades and also i had popularity throu relatives cuz i could sing. when he talks to me he touches me on my knees and arms, i heard others didnt like when somebody touched them like that but i didnt feel uncomfortable at all. so i think u should do the same

  • I was sexually abused by my girlfriend and it really helps to see stories about how men were sexually abused. A lot of people don’t believe me whenever I talk about it because I’m a guy. Even my own parents were skeptical of what happened when I told them. Please respect all sexual abuse victims! It’s really important.

  • Everyone can be an abuser and everyone can be a victim. No boundary can negate. Gender, race, religion, etc. does not have any weight in the situation when it comes down to sexual abuse or rape. It is the same of course for other variety of situations but since it’s on the topic of sexual assault and grooming, that’s the situation I’m emphasizing.

  • I like the mention of the “every guy’s dream, right?” idea. So many sexual abuse victims that are male are told that it’s a boy’s fantasy, especially when a male student is abused by a female teacher. Not only are they downplaying the seriousness of the abuse, but they’re also glorifying it, which is truly awful.

  • As a male victim of child sex trafficking I appreciate the message this sends. Some demons refuse to let you escape. But with knowledge and preparation and the comfort to know someone understands comes the strength to resist. Sometimes resistance is impossible. It’s forgiveness of one’s self that can allow for healing. Anyone who has been abused…you are wonderful and beautiful and it’s going to be ok. Never blame yourself and always know there is a second chance….feeling lost is natural, we all walk down roads that are filled with many surprises, both good and bad. Sometimes you will reach a tree fallen on the road and not know where to go. Turn back? Climb over? Take a turn? It’s confusing ..no one path is perfect for everyone ..but don’t ever give up. Seek comfort In family, friends, and compatriots. Those who love you will stay those who don’t will leave. Most importantly of all don’t let anyone make you lose sight of your true self…losing yourself and becoming someone else to suit another’s whimsy is a true hell forgetting who you are…..it can be a lifelong journey to rediscover your true self …just never lose sight of who you are. We love you. The whole internet 100s of thousands of people we got your back so yeah. Abuse victims…you never give up. Never ever ever.

  • The abusers looked hurt about why the person they were coaxing would suddenly turn on them when they were going so long without saying anything. It’s a minor detail, but one I greatly appreciated that was included. Sometimes that final breaking point can make you seem like you were over reacting and being rude or it may even seem like it’s your fault for leading them on in the first place. It’s a guilt wrenching and confusing experience for victims, but the thing is no one should ever go along with something they’re not comfortable with.

  • I had an abusive stepmom last year who would sexually harass me whenever she drank. My father didn’t do anything about it so I eventually I stood up to her on my own and now she’s out of my life. It doesn’t matter if you’re a man or a woman, abuse is abuse and it shouldn’t be accepted no matter who commits it. Thanks for showing that men can be victims as well as women can.

  • I appreciate including male victims, religious predators, and female predators. Abuse and assault can happen to anyone, and be committed by anyone, man or woman, young or old, opposite or same gender. As a girl who was sexually abused by BOTH of my grandmothers, one of which was strongly christian, plus her husband did these things to me as well. I feel represented by the variety of offenders featured in this article.

  • My dad works a 11pm to 7am work shift and he always is trying to catch up on sleep. When me and my brother were little there was a lady who worked for our school that always asked my dad if she could baby sit us. My dad mentioned her being very insistant and rather uncomfortable in her constant asking, so my dad never agreed to let her take care of us because of that off vibe she gave. We recently saw on the news that this women was now being sentenced to prison for multiple child abuse crimes. Kinda makes me wonder what could of happened.

  • I myself was a groomed girl who was sexually abused I was only 10 and was already going through all of this and I didn’t even know what was happening to me until finally I found out and cut all contact with him now that I’m free from him I feel better but I still feel like people are gonna hurt me.( thank you for those of you have been giving so much love in the comments i love you all and wish you guys the best)

  • I love the fact that they point out that men can be sexually abused to not just women when my brother is old to understand this I’ll get my parents permission to show this to him so he can know and understand when these types of things can happen and that they can happen anywhere and that he should speak up for himself when this type of thing happens at any time no matter who did it even if it’s a family member and that should go for anyone who has gone through this! Don’t be scared to tell someone that you’re uncomfortable and if they don’t stop then leave that place as soon as possible and tell a trusted adult about it or call the police right away!!

  • For all those who are questioning why this is in their recommendations the answer is yes, it is due to YouTube algorithm but that doesn’t necessarily make it meaningless. During this pandemic children are at home far more than usual due to the quarantine and as you know, child abuse tends to happen at home and in private places more than anything else leaving children victim to abuse exposed to 10 times more abuse than usual. This recommendation is also being sent to a certain range of ages, estimated to be from ages 12-17 years old.

  • i hate how when a girl talks about being raped, everyone supports her. but when a guy talks about being raped, people say that he should have enjoyed it, or to man up. men can be raped too. to any of the men who have gone through this, you are strong. this is for the girls who have gone through this too.
