How Did Uhtred Betray Brida?

In the Netflix series The Last Kingdom, Brida (Emily Cox) holds a grudge against Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon), who is his first love. They were bonded as one from the moment he took her hand on the steps of the great hall of Eoferwic. When the Dane army was defeated at Tettenhall, Brida begged Uhtred to kill her before she could be dishonoured by being taken prisoner. Osbert didn’t do much for the movie. Seven Kings Must Die focused on Edwards sons, Aethelstan and Aelfweard, and their desire for the throne. Aelfweard chose to yield, but his brother killed him. Aethelstan tried to keep power and control his destiny. He killed friends, captured Osbert and Edmund, and banished Uhtred to the Shetlands. Osbert was found safe and hidden to ensure their survival. Producer Nigel Marchant explained why Osbert didn’t appear in Last Kingdom until the finale. We introduced Uhtred’s two children.
