From my own experience guys THINK they want the manic pixie dream girl, until they have her. I have those vibes myself, and with my exes I often felt smothered- like they wanted me to be smaller. All of a sudden I always had some dude thinking I was going to open him up to a whole new world- I was so different and talented and special. But the next thing I know it’s like they want to tone me down and have me be a more socially acceptable version of myself. It was DEVASTATING. I’ve only had a couple relationships before I found my partner, but looking back it was a recurring pattern through out my relationships. I love that my partner just loves and accepts me for who I am. To be fair I chilled out alot as I got older. Nobody wants to be out all night at a rave or urban exploring when they have to be up at 5am. Weekends only lol. But I think that with my partner I could mature INTO myself. He accepts my weird ideosyncracies as I do his. And if anything he is even weirder and dorkier than I am lol. Plus he understands my ADHD brain because he had the sames issues growing up (he grew out of it, I didn’t). I never feel judged. Although… I try to avoid idolization of celebs bc history shows all ppl have one side for their “in-public persona/mask”, and another side being who they truly are closed doors. There’s nothing wrong with this, except when you willingly hurt ppl and use a mask to hide that. Many ppl’s two side are very similar, which is healthy, but others (celebrities especially) two sides could not be further apart, like night and day.
