Man I started sobbing when I heard the Avengers theme song. Not because I’d never heard it or anything but it such an honest representation of who Michelle is, to Garrett and her community. She is kind and strong and resilient, and to see a woman that you love walk down the aisle to a song that represents all those things, I simply wouldn’t hold it together.

This makes it look easy when you have a detailed planner and a budget that I’m sure isn’t small! If I had the budget for a planner like this, I would have 100% done it. It takes all of the vendor research out of the equation and saves a ton of time and stress. Shout out to all my DIY brides who did the damn thing all by themselves!
We had 2 years to plan our wedding and it was actually pretty easy and fun. We knew what we wanted and we agreed on most things– but the only BIG challenge we had was getting responses from vendors! Sometimes they took weeks to answer our questions and they often canceled or rescheduled Zoom meetings or deliveries at last minute. You being able to meet in person with them REALLY seemed to help speed the process along. (I walked down the aisle to a live rendition of cinematic music, too! I love it!)

I love that you guys planned a wedding catered to you and not *just*traditional things. I just got married in Nov and it was important to me to have a fun ceremony. My now husband and I met in taekwondo and we had our martial instructor who’s also a huge mentor in my life ordain the wedding and it was perfect. Things can go smoothly or go to shit, and as the main organizer you have to keep a clear head and think on the spot “How am I going to solve this debacle!” while your clients are in the corner panicking or having a fit. Yeah this isn’t a representation of stressful wedding planning. The stress often comes from not having a planner, not knowing what decisions to make or where to go, managing a small budget, and family being horrible (not just honest, but unsupportive). The stress isn’t the planning, it’s the pressure cooker around it.
Speaking as something who worked in the wedding industry: The big IF is IF you can actually have get any vendors that late notice. Vendors can book out a year in advance. This would be BRUTAL on Vendors. Ordering would be a nightmare especially because of supply chain issues. Tbh this is a full reminder as to why I left working in the wedding industry.

This is a GREAT idea! Planning a wedding in a short time does eliminate the drawn out intensity and stress planning a large event may cause. However, knowing that once a decision has been made – and having many months until the actual day to reflect on “did I make the right chiuce” can cause its own problems. LOL. I loved the Great Chair Debate of 2022. Michelle began w/ this completely reasonable, cost-efficient argument, and before she knew it, one by one, the entire room had turned against her, until she finally sat in the chair, which reluctantly changed her own opinion on the matter. The misleading title is such a relief. Finding all your potential vendors months ahead and having them all meet you in the same week is actually genius! Then you don’t have to worry about “we don’t know if flowers will conflict with the table choice bc we’re meeting them for another 5 weeks” you have all the decisions made in the same week. My husband and I basically did a version of this! We spent less than a month actually making decisions about our wedding. We had put off our wedding for so long because it was so overwhelming to plan that our engagement actually lasted 8 years! (Longer than our “dating” phase which was when we both were in college and lasted 5 years before we officially became engaged). We were together for 13 years total before officially saying “I do.” That was only because planning a wedding seemed like an impossible feat that we just didn’t want to confront. The expectations for a wedding are sky high! So instead, on 2/22/22 (a pretty wedding date was one of the only things I wanted so I was so happy this was our official wedding date) we rented a nice looking rental, invited only our closest of closest friends, put up some birthday party type decor, got dressed up in a nice suit and dress, and took some lovely pictures and signed the damn paper. Did it turn out more like a Vegas-style hitch wedding than a “real” wedding? Yes. Was it way less stress than a traditional wedding? Absolutely! And was it worth it? Yes and no. Sometimes I wonder what it would have been like if we’d gone the “traditional” route of a year or more to plan every intricate detail of a party for 500 of our closest friends, but then I remember I’m an introvert, and that weddings are more for the guests than the couple, and I remember how on a good day I actually hate parties and I think of all the money I saved and then I’m good!

When You invite a lot of people 1 week is not enough because it would Take 1 week alone to prepare & deliver them 2 weeks before the date, because the guess needs to accepted them at least 1 week before. The wedding dress need to be fitted & prepare. Most people need more time for this
