I’m speechless and sad. When I recall all of the poor children my mother taught back in the 1940’s, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s in a small farming town, this hurts. We, as children, would go with Mother to various churches and homes to ask for clothing. Then we would help wash and mend clothes for all her students. (We five plus mom post-war). We had food and a little cottage, and a car. Times were tough. Sure, rich folks can do what they want with their money, but an extravagant vision of spoiled little girls isn’t that funny sometimes.

I bought a dress on sale (my mother paid half of my dress for our wedding present) and I paid the rest. I wouldn’t change a thing. I occasionally watch clips of this show and what I find really bizarre is how many people in the comments are often fangirling about Randy and all the staff, as though they were their friends… I get it, they are very charismatic, but they are obviously fake! That money was almost certainly stolen from the U.N., the World Bank, U.S. AID, or other foreign aid. It could be from American taxpayers. All of us perusal this might have helped pay for all those ridiculous dresses. This is literally money laundering !
All that extravagant expense so that the daughter of a government official in a poor country can feel like a princess. Okay, an American business has no responsibility to act as the moral arbiter for a customer, but this episode made me deeply uneasy. It would have been best for Kleinfeld’s image not to broadcast it. Now regarding this bride, my not very nice impulse was to slap her. How much is the official salary of an “important” government official in Angola? Enough to blow over a hundred grand over a daughter’s wedding? I suspect not. That kind of money comes from corrupt practices, and the bride knows it or is willfully blind.

I think I’m like the only woman who just hates the pinina Tourne dresses … they look trashy to me but to each their own I know now all brides want the same thing. Also the ‘that’s why I do it’ na u make the dresses for the $$$$ otherwise you wouldn’t be charging an arm and a leg for them and make them more affordable
$320,000 I calculated not including taxes. I’m sorry, but that’s a house and 2 new used cars for me. I spent $700 on my wedding dress and $100 on my veil back in 2009 and I thought that was way too expensive for my mom to buy me! When my mom put it on credit, I paid my mom back even though my mom was saying from her heart. I knew my parents cant afford to spend on me that’s why when the bill came I gave my mom money and paid it off! Some people spend way too much on weddings and not on future home or their honeymoon. If I could turn the hands back in time I would’ve just married in the court and saved the wedding money my husband and I saved up together for a down pymt on home. My wedding cost me altogether $12k or 13k, I kept it small my wedding party and I included was only 79 people. My husband and I paid for it all and it was gorgeous and beautiful I’m very blessed.
Fun fact, this episode destroyed her father’s reputation and his chances of becoming Angola’s next leader, and almost caused a breakdown of their government. Angolans have accused many a politician of being corrupt but not her dad. He boasted of never taking a government salary or purging Angola’s resources. Rumours of the excessive lifestyle of their politicians have floated around before but since the finances were hush-hush no one could prove it and bring any solid accusations against other politicians. Unfortunately for her dad though, this episode was concrete proof that his daughter flew from South Africa and dropped 200k on dresses alone and detailed the price and purpose of each dress. The $30,000 on a dress just to sign a paper at a private family gathering did not go down well. The episode caused an uproar in Angola and her decision to go on the show literally changed their life for the worse. So yeah you shouldn’t always flaunt it just because you got it, and her family learned that in a very hard way.
Absolutely ridiculous. With all the people homeless, sleeping in the streets, going to bed hungry, no shoes on their feet, etc. Very sad to so much money being spent on something that will be worn once for few hours. That much money can feed, cloth, and provide shelter for a lot of people in desperate need.
I think theybare spending more than 100k. her 2 dresses and moms dress hits over 85k. and pnina thinks all live her dresses. i have read comments in past mentioning Pnina stripper dresses. her dresses all look same with sheer corset tons of crystals and shapewear kind of see theu underwires all visible in underlay. OK,,,,,I’m going to JoAnns and buy a few yards of large loose weave netting. Cut it into squares, cover some headbands in Satin or velvet,starch the netting, hot glue some rhinestones on it, maybe even put some flowers on them and call them bridal veils. I can sell them for $25.00 -$ 50.00 each and still come out like a champ. $500.00 for that at Klienfelds is a load of crap. And I know it’s their money, but anyone that spends $200,000.00+ on dresses that will only be worn once for a wedding is an idiot. And they didn’t even fit properly. Disgusting…this exorbitant amount of spending amongst government members is all too familiar… especially when they come from poor countries. Remember president Marcos and malaysian prime minister Najib Razak and his 1MDB scandal? What irks me is their family members pretend as if the money spent is their God Given right when in fact it isnt and it belongs to the people. Corruption is rampant in those countries. The bride is a full grown adult and im sure she is well aware of where the funds are coming from. Its disgusting. What goes around comes around….
This has pretty much ruined my appetite for Klienfelds, Pnina and and pretty much any program or reality show that flaunts wealth like this. People are starving, working just as hard as if not harder and doing a lot of good in the world but barely have enough to put food on their tables or take care of their immediate family’s needs. We need to stop hyping these ultra fancy weddings and obsession with the wealthy class. It just makes me sick and things are bound to get a whole lot worth. It is beyond my imagination how heads of companies in our nation can lay off hundreds of thousands of employees and lower the salaries of the rest while treating them inhumanely and telling them they have no choice then built rockets just for themselves to go and get their jollies for a few minutes in space. And we celebrate this? We admire this people? No, no I just cant!!!! Look at how we idolize actors, royalty, celebrities who spend millions and billions of dollars just on themselves at our own expense? C’mon people wake up!!
Ok I’m gonna say this as a person working as an interior designer and does wedding presentation, In terms of the stage/place where they shoot the brides dresses inside klienfeld, the bride who’s spend 200k money(which is a first in the history of kleinfeld) and purchases 9 dresses and came from Africa had to shoot in a makeshift platform stage in the dressing room’s HALLWAY (which has poor lighting), while the other bride and her dress is shot in a proper stage with good lighting and presentable background. Klienfelds is either really not prepare or does not prioritize clients. what a shame.
There was a time when I enjoyed this show. But now it hits like a bunch of over-privileged spoiled women wasting exorbitant amounts of cash on a dress they will wear once is just disgustingly self-absorbed and spiritually blind to the plight of those who have nothing to eat. I’m so done with rich people wasting money while the rest of the world burns. Wake me up when you start giving away dresses to the unfortunate brides who can’t afford it.
I agree with the majority of comments. This is ‘Kardashian’ gross. I’ve been a seamstress for 30 years, what these designers are charging is out of control. Only vapid snobs pay to flaunt a silly label. No designer label or amount of money spent can make a bride beautiful. It’s all in her SMILE, regardless of the price of her gown.
I will say for the amount of money they are spending on these dresses, I think a top-notch service and the highest quality and manageable is a given. I don’t know what they’re doing to spend 30 hours making a ball gown, that sounds like someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing trying to sew for the first time, but if they’re spending that much money on it I would hope it would be the highest quality. I’m afraid my poor person brain can’t wrap around spending that much money on a dress, let alone the wedding. I think my parents got married for a couple thousand dollars, and I don’t even think it was that much money. My mom paid $295 for her shoes, dress, hat and everything else she was wearing that day.
These people that spend this kind of money could buy a house for what they(‘re blowing on a wedding. I have been married twice and my 1st was a church wedding, 300.00. (36 yrs. ago) Spending that much money on something that you’re only gonna wear once for a few hrs. is ridiculous to me when it can better be spent in getting a home, catching up on debit, or whatever. An overly expensive wedding doesn’t make you any more married than a courthouse wedding. I understand wanting everything you can manage to pay for but still. It’s not reality in the right sense.

Every month I find some kind of letter in my mailbox that asks for a donation for poor people in Africa. There are not enough schools, not enough hospitals, not enough basic medical care, etc etc. It’s clear why. The money is in the hands of the ones in power, and they use it for … Me, Myself and I.
Sorry, but I wouldn’t spend such an huge amount of money on an unknown designer. With that kind of budget, you could buy a well known bridal designer dress like Vera Wang, Sposa Bella, Rosa Clara, Pronovias, Zuhair Murad, St. Patrick’s or even Stella McCartney without a worries because they only deliver A+ quality.
The 1st brides first her 2 dresses cost $60,500 before tax, processing and fees, etc😳…oan unlimited budget automatically means the consultants showing the most expensive designers cause they hoping for a big comission on the sales…imo just cause a gown cost $25,000+ doesn’t mean it’s the best choice for some of these brides… my question is once they spend all this unlimited money for one day then what? Real life starts after the wedding.
I admit I am not a fan of see through dresses especially for a wedding, especially for a wedding that large. There are other opportunities and places for. There are lots of other dresses that can still make a bride look stunning and sexy as was proven in this article as most of the dresses tried on were just beautiful.

Sorry. I have never liked any of the dresses from Pnina. Tacky and expensive. People are blind because so many just get convinced to buy a dress when obviously it is just like two dresses sewn together. The bottom on on of the dresses looks like layered curtains with the top full of beading. Of course they are going to say that the bride looks perfect, they need to sell and earn commission. Example of beautiful multiple wedding dresses is Beatrice Borromeo who married into the royal family of Monaco. Classy and timeless. I do like Erica’s dress though to be fair.
