Buy diamonds from a diamond wholesaler. You can save a lot on the dollar cost. Diamond wholesalers are at the bottom of the chain. They get diamonds from mines and sell them to jewelers. Their prices are lower than retail. These wholesalers have outside facilities to set stones, but it takes time. If you want to buy stones from a wholesaler, buy them. But have the settings done at home if you don’t have time. All wholesalers can get their stones certified. Ask for this certificate. If you don’t get a certificate, don’t buy.

  • Great article guys! Also just to add, the idea that a ring elevates you in societal hierarchy – is true for men as well. Married men are more likely to be promoted at work, given leadership roles in corporate etc. Even more directly – it is almost an accepted norm that a single/unmarried man cannot be President of a country.. The ring is often the symbol of that presumed stature – without the need to ask.

  • I’m married for 10 years. My husband never wears his ring on a daily basis but when we go to functions yes he does wear it but him not wearing his ring doesn’t bother me because on a daily basis he shows me just how much our marriage means to him and never disrespects me although not wearing his ring. Os in short it’s not about the ring it’s about his actions. Phetolia I’m like u I love wearing my ring and feel like something is missing if I take it off for whatever reason

  • I personally LOVE my ring and I love wearing it because I’m a proud wife. And when I forget to wear it I get so hacked! I will literally make a u-turn and go fetch it. Also, it helps a lot when guys approach me I just show them my ring then they can back off. So I’m for rings. Let’s wear our rings guys. It’s a symbol of our love. Loved this convo.

  • Thank you guys for the Installment. I actually asked that question 🤭🤭🤭😝 I totally understand your point of view, I actually did not think of it this deep. To me I feel like if the ring doesn’t hurt just put it on. Well yes obviously without putting too much wait on the ring alone but putting wait on true commitment with your spouse. Thank you Phatola ❤

  • Yooooh what an unexpected mind blowing conversation. I actually found myself having to defend my friend, who is pregnant and can’t wear her ring, from someone who didn’t know she was married. This person even started counting months and saying “well she wasn’t married when she got pregnant” with the most judgmental face and tone. It’s exhausting actually.

  • The lady that says married men should wear rings so that single women don’t mistaken their kindness for flirtation is just putting responsibility on other. If you misunderstand someone, it is your responsibility to seek clarity. We can’t expect married people to wear rings for our sake ngeke guys. If you’re catching feelings, just like Mr Makhs said – tell them you’re catching feelings. Then they will clarify. Plus I think if a person was trying to flirt with you, they’d most likely eventually make a move. Then that will also make it clear to you uba okay this one likes me. Otherwise if you don’t want to wait for them to make a move, ASK them what’s what. Your feelings and sanity are your responsibility. . . By the way, Mrs Makhs makes Setswana sound like magic 😍. I could listen to her everyday.

  • Lerato’s look of concern on 24:07 /24:17 😄 🤣 😂 😆 😄 “Does it work?” “Do you do that?” When Pheto explains men at the lifting section lookin thirsty or trying to hit on her. I wonder what is going through Mr Makhs head. Probably “we have to be at the gym same time, together” 🤣 big ups Pheto telling them you are off the market.

  • My response to Phetola’s initial poll about this was that I don’t generally see a problem with it if 1) it’s something agreed upon between the married couple and/or 2) it is publicly apparent by other means that the person is married. However, as a single woman, a man’s wedding ring sets an immediate, tangible “off limits” boundary. Out of respect for wives, I have very strict boundaries in how I interact (if at all) with married men. I don’t say or do anything that I wouldn’t in front of his wife. Period! Without the presence of a wedding band, it can be really easy to unwittingly entertain a married man. And I don’t even mean anything untoward. Even regular, everyday conversations with married men should have certain boundaries. All that said, when I DO get married, the manahGod gon’ WEAR his ring, you hear me?? 😂😂😂

  • I totally agree with everything your saying but for me personally, I really don’t go for married man and I ask even if someone is not wearing his ring. I don’t even go for men who have paid lobola I also ask if, ulobolile. Buf I have once dated a married man who lied about it and when I found out, I immediately got over him irregardless of how I felt about him, but that did hurt being invested in someone who is married. So I am one of those people who would like to see the ring just to play far nje.

  • I just love how you guys interact with each other in your installments, so far you’re my best website❤. I have learned to respect people, and I always assume that they are taken/have spouses unless of course they tell me otherwise. Very few people are single-single. A lot of people are always in entanglements😉.

  • Oh Wow beautiful people, can’t believe I yelled around the house screaming because you mention my comment!!! Hooray… My parents are so much in love and they rarely wear their 💍 rings… really not a big deal for me witnessing their everyday intimacy… likewise for you guys you are are friends in 🥰 Love… God bless you

  • I agree with you guys on everything. However, it becomes another thing when a spouse leaves the house wearing a ring then comes back not wearing it anymore😏. So l believe if a couple decides to wear a ring they should and the opposite is true. It becomes an issue when the other spouse gets unfaithful

  • Yes married woman think they are better…..I see with my family and at church and now it’s all visible because the Bishop and Mama Bishop is I Mamakhulu no babamkhulu they sometimes had this wired energy about my family before my mom and dad separated then….when we would come to church or get invited to family….you could just see their pride…..

  • Hmm this topic. I remember in April, I had to attend a wedding, it was on a Thursday. The very same week, Tuesday if remember I took my ring in for enlargement to this other shop and the salesperson said I was late because they only return rings on Mondays and I was like ‘never I can’t afford to go to a wedding without my ring and worse my wife wasn’t going to be around’. I had to attend a wedding with a tight ring that was becoming uncomfortable because people talk hey. I then sent it in the following week. The Great I AM loves you

  • And another thing about not wearing a ring it gives people the idea ukuthi you are available at the market see because there isn’t any proof to show that you are married but ke here we have 2022 the hit on you wearing a ring it’s nothing to them ah which it’s so sad. Cause now it’s about the money and vibes besides ukuthi you are happy where you are. Like this thing or guys will always be guys they might have the most beautiful woman and wife but they will still look around and hit on the girl “so they say social media world”

  • Hi The Makhs, I love it here ♥️. I think like how in the Bible the incision and blood 🩸 thing symbolized that one is in a covenant with that partner a ring too symbolizes that. On a different note though, the Bible says flee away from temptation I often hear that at marriage counselling a couple is advised to always wear their ring. I think the ring kind of helps people stay out of trouble, I don’t know how to put it but human beings have a tendency of falling prey but certain things are a constant reminder that nah you can’t do that. Hence in a way I feel like a lot of people won’t come at you trying to start something because you have your ring on and in turn you falling for their tactics because you were tempted and forgot somehow yous married. Lol 😂🤣🤣🤣🙆🏼‍♀️, this world. But those with a clean conscience anyway will stay away if they see your ring. I don’t know if I make sense.

  • Interesting topic Mr & Mrs makhs u know ous pheto my aunt’s daughter has been happily married for over 16 yrs & she has never had a ring, when people ask her why she doesn’t buy one bcoz their financially stable now she answers them &says I don’t need a ring to prove that I’m married by the way I’m married & I luv my ring also I never take it off only when I take a bath 😂😂😂 frm Ayesha in Kimberly

  • Such great insights concerning this topic. Ausi Phetola was on fire and I like how bhut Lerato lets his wife state her opinions even when they don’t agree. I believe when married folks are in public, they should wear their rings so that we can respect their unions and not catch feelings. It is always good to ask their marital status though because there are widows and widowers who wear their rings. I wish they discussed the widows and widowers who wear theirs but I guess it didn’t come to mind. Great discussion overall

  • My ex husband never wore his ring after a few months into getting married, I hated it.. and yes he was a nasty cheat.. Found out he had a double life & I was just a cover up for maintaining/protecting his image. I think it’s always best to consider the other partner’s feelings, a little compromise don’t kill. But it’s true.. the ring doesn’t mean he’s not cheating. I just hope our generation values marriage as sacred becoz the way people are taking marriage lightly!!, God is not pleased. Hopeful I’ll get a decent, God-fearing, honest man in future. Never lower your standards when it comes to your beliefs, the price to pay is harsh. Red flags are never to be avoided.💕

  • The ring reminds the couple that they swore an oath of fidelity and perpetual allegiance to their spouses. Besides, it reminds others that one is married and is not available for any romantic relationship with another person. It’s like a police without a badge or uniform can’t be respected, will not have authority when a badge or uniform is not in place. So it’s important that couples put on their rings. Unless it’s for healthy reasons, or other reasons. However, I want to state here that the ring is just a symbol. It does not on its own make or mar a marriage. Rather, it is the effort of the couples, their spirit of commitment, tolerance and dependence on God that determines the success or otherwise of the marriage.

  • My parents have been married for 30+ years and they’ve never worn rings. In fact, I got exposed to rings when I went to boarding school and saw that grownups wore rings🤣 For me as a healthcare worker it’s honestly not hygienic. And my ring is so pretty that I leave it behind because I’m constantly donning and gloving that I feel like I’m wearing It out. Sometimes I remember how pretty it is and I miss it and so I put it on. Otherwise it’s just the band or nothing, especially if I’m on call. And I’ve had colleagues start rumours about trouble in paradise. It’s so boring. Moreover, people generally give me more respect at malls etc when they see my ring. And my other experience is I’ll have less guys persist in chatting me up when I show my ring. But I must be honest in saying that before my husband gave me a ring I was super sensitive about having one to show other people that he’s made an honest woman out of me. And stop assuming many irritating things.

  • I notice if a Man is not wearing ring is ok,as it’s seen around on other Man,but its not common for Man wearing it,while the Woman is not especially if it’s not condition of sickness, how Do you feel Man if ya only you wearing and your Woman esp those things Phetola talked about, Woman material, Choose One,Pride,Stopnonses, Dignity,Shame,Self-esteem?
