Transport @ 4.28 you show the Wiki Wiki Shuttle, this does not go to Waikiki, it a free airport shuttle to move you to different terminals in the airport only. However you can get TheBus (regular bus service) from the airport to Waikiki, But they only allow a bag that can rest on your lap. They don’t allow multiple bags.
I wonder if the resort fee thing is a Hilton policy. This year my wife and I stayed one night at the Doubletree Grand Naniloa in Hilo on points. I’m silver status with Hilton and there was no resort fee. My wife is platinum with Marriott and she used points for 3 nights on the other side of the Big Island and we were charged the resort fee.

The beach is always free. Water is free at Starbucks. Hanauma bay is something I enjoyed in the past but will not do moving forward based on your experience. I can’t wait to return. Flying direct from Ontario on Hawaiian is the best way to go.
When I was Hilton Diamond, they didn’t charge resort fees, which was a major plus. Marriott definitely would charge on point redemptions. I personally left Hilton for Marriott since I never got a meaningful Hilton upgrade, but I have gotten suites in major cities like London and Paris from Marriott. But both Marriott and Hilton didn’t match the old Starwood (RIP).
There are cheaper options to park a car there. That car park across from the Rainbow Tower has over night metered parking, way cheaper then the HHV self parking. Your Hilton points, is there a time limit in which you have to use them ? Is there an annual fee for the Amex/Hilton card ? I’m guessing you use it to buy every thing, every day, gas/petrol, groceries, bills – electricity/ water etc, car insurance, home insurance etc to rack up your points? Then you say – for 2 people for 5 days just over $600 dollars but you got free breakfast. Then let’s say, we work hard for our hard earn $, don’t have access to free or heavily discounted air fairs and can only afford a trip abroad every 3 to 4 years. I dont think the Hilton card would be any good.
You forgot to mention although hotel accommodation can be the same room rate as AirBnB but they charge additional resort fee which is also known as amenity fees (plus taxes for the fees). This would be on top of the room fee you originally paid either via a travel portal. This is a very important important information especially if you are travelling from overseas. Most of the hotels wont tell you this upfront. You will find out during the check out. These fees can be up to 40%-50% of your daily room rate. Please be aware of this.
