Dee was on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, with new members Derry Grehan on lead guitar and Dave Betts on drums. Both had recorded two albums with Toronto-based new wave group Steve Blimkie and the Reason. Grehan became the band’s main songwriter and wrote “New Girl Now,” which won them an unsigned band contest. Various keyboard players and bassists came and left, but the band was signed to WEA Canada after “New Girl Now” was released. Ray Coburn joined the band as a keyboard player, and Brian Brackstone played bass in the studio. Brackstone played on the entire album. Lalonde joined the band after the album was finished. He appeared in the album photos and played with the band live.
