  • Every wedding cake I’ve ever done has been this style. While it is easier than some, textured buttercream is actually an art form. It’s not messy, it’s deliberately styled. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to infuse earl grey into buttercream in a more concentrated way for a teapot cake and adding the tea leaves directly is genius. Thank you!

  • This turned out really nice . I happen to like simplicity the added flowers and greenery are just so pretty. I still can’t wrap my head around dummy cakes at weddings and different desserts? I come from a error where the bridal couple share the wedding cake. $5 to serve a slice of cake is just crazy! I do understand it’s now a option clearly about $ but, personally I would down size somewhere within my wedding to prevent this from happening dummy cakes at a wedding just isn’t right. Thank you for the article I am curious of the Earl Grey flavors as I too no it’s popular.

  • I had a bride request this same cake…………with NO decoration. No flowers, no nothing. I kept subtly suggesting…”I can make a really eye catching fantasy flower…just one! Simple. She was like “no,,,,just the cake” and she was so happy! I was dying to just sneak a pearl, a glitter flower, SOMETHING. But she was so happy. So, I’m glad I made her happy. But I was dying inside! lol

  • Fun fact, you can please some of the people all of the time, or all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time. Abe Lincoln said that. That tea business? Don’t let them be a stinker. You’re the boss here. If they don’t like how you operate, they can float on.
