What does a woman want from a man? In short, the foremost thing she needs is security. She does not want a husband who makes her live in fear, like the one who often threatens her with marrying someone besides her (i.e. with a second marriage). Or he makes her feel that his friends and his gatherings with them are more important than sitting with her. Or because of his constant, long, unrestrained staring at women he makes her feel that he may abandon her (anytime). She wants a husband who respects her… and who consults her… and who does not belittles her… and who praises her beauty… her talks… her cooking (food)… and he does not degrades her in front of others. She wants her husband to give her tender loving care which she (badly) needs after long tiring work around the house, and with taking care of his kids. She wants true love… which makes her feel that out of all the women (in the world), her husband has only chosen her. Love which touches her feminity (i.e. makes her feel like she is a woman) . O husband! Do not be niggardly in spending over her (needs)… and fear Allaah regarding her rights… for she is one of the two weak ones… about whom the Prophet ﷺ advised us to take care of. 📚 (Shaikh Muhammad Ibn Umar Baazmool)
Hina, you have taught me so much in this article. I pray Allah blesses you and your husband & children with so much blessings & happiness. You’ve reminded me to remain calm and humble. Although this talk is on spouses, it oddly enough has changed me as an individual. The way I speak to my mum, my dad, my friends, family etc.. has all changed. This advice is not only for husband and wife but also for families.
Fantastic lecture on marriage, this should be turned into a YEAR long course where the participants MUST change as they go through this program and should have workshops throughout the year. Advice and lectures are first steps but without actions, it only becomes intellectual knowledge and Islam is not a religion of just consumption of lectures…

All this is wonderful in ‘normal’ marriages. Where you are able to apply a certain method and see its benefit. If you have a narcisstic partner (or other unrecognised personality disorder that otherwise makes them seem normal) it is utter hell on an internal emotional level and none of these advises are for you nor can they help. Your simply deceiving yourself and its like getting blood out of a stone. Please realise not all marriages will benefit for all this wonderful advise if its falling on a rotten heart. Sometimes it’s best to cut your losses and put all this wonderful effort into yourself, children and other projects ❤
Thank you so very much for your teachings. My husband and i are dealing with an emotional affair as I type. It has been difficult but the blessing is that it has brought us closer to Allah. He never understood my need for intimacy, romance or an emotional connection. I hope to share this article with him.😮
Allah (swt) has told us that the male is not the same as the female and that statement is very true in many ways. We need to also understand that we all have our own flaws, so we need to remember that this is only the dunya version of us. May Allah (swt) grant us beneficial knowledge, so we can do right by each other. Ameen
❤Alhamdulillah- Jazak Allah for the pearls of wisdom. What a great work you are doing to improve relationships. Unfortunately, such kinds of talks must be given to would- be couples, even in the Indian subcontinent for greater success of marriages. The cherry on the cake is moving closer to the Creator -Allah Swt in order to achieve the goal.
Relation of Husband and Wife. Ibn al Qayyim said: If it (sex) is done wholeheartedly, in a friendly and loving manner, with full desire and with the intention of reward only than one can get complete pleasure which no other thing can give. It can only be attained by doing it in a best way. The sign of it is, after doing it every part of the body feels calm, eyes feel cool by seeing the beloved (wife), and the ears feels happiness by listening to her soft and beautiful voice, Through her perfume and by touching her it feels good, and by kissing her the taste of mouth changes, likewise every part of the body feels good.. Because women (wives) are the cause of happiness of the heart that is why they are also called the reason to the happiness of the soul. Allah says “And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them” (30:21) (روضة المحبين ونزهة المشتاقين by Ibn al Qayyim page 217)
Thank you sister, but this will not work if only one of them follows it. Then it will effect their mental and physical well being. How long will such marriage work ? Eventually the ignorant partner will always feel that what they are doing is normal and will never realize the unrepairable damage they had caused.
Be Careful of Being Like This With Your Wife Ash-Shawkaani (رحمه الله) said: ❝Indeed those of the people who have the highest status in goodness and are the most rightful in being characterized with the truth are those who are the best of the people to their wives. Indeed the wife and family are those who have the most right to joy and happiness, deserving of good manners and kindness, and bringing them benefit and repelling harm from them. When a man is like this then he is the best of the people and if he is the opposite of that, then he is at the other extreme of evil. There are many of the people who fall into this dilemma, so you see a man who when he meets his family he is the worst of the people in manners, the most miserly person and the least of the people with goodness. When he meets other than his family, non-relatives he becomes soft and timid, has delightful manners, and improves himself, and his goodness increases. There is no doubt that the person who is like this then he is prohibited from success, has deviated away from the correct path. We ask Allah for security.❞ (Nail Awtaar, (8/121))
But what should I do if I only trust in Allah and don’t accept anyone else? I struggle with the anxiety of being in a relationship. I consistently turn down all proposals because my heart is filled with love for Allah, and I find myself not interested in worldly distractions. I focus on my work, and in my free time, I engage in conversations with Allah, perform prayers, and study the Quran. Is it strange that while my friends enjoy being in relationships, some even have children now, mashallah, at 24, I still feel the same? I had hoped this would change with time, but I find myself even more deeply connected to Allah now.
1. Make ٱللَّٰه your main concern. 2. Know love languages. 3. Have something special between two of you and guard it. 4. Have your own passion projects (have healthy interest in their interests). 5. Fulfill sexual needs Pray to ٱللَّٰه to put love in your spouse’s heart. Men need admiration, respect, and honor. Don’t correct partner in public. Don’t disrespect partner infront of kids. 20:24 What does domestic bliss look like? 20:56 Make home the eye of the storm. 24:22 Self reflect and dong be too proud to apologize. 25:03 Everyone gets angry. If spouse is angry, be quiet.
