  • I was 57kg (125lbs) into my late 40’s until menopause, and what a rude shock that was! Now sitting at 70kg which is still heavier than when I was 9 months pregnant, but my gp has said that 57kg will just never happen again. I did go up to 90kg when I was on cortisone for Systemic Lupus and I did get that off by dancing at night in my pjs to 80’s dance music. Couldn’t go to a gym as I have fractures from osteoporosis. I have learnt how to dress though after having 3 babies and now being 63 (oh dear) I will not look frumpy. My grandma at this age looked old and I refuse to. Times have changed and women look much younger than our ancestors at the same age.

  • this is very informative. however. i have a B body. my waist line isn’t going anywhere. additionally i am recently loosing weight. (5’1 and 191 lb to 145 lb in 258 days just perusal calories and writing every thing down) so my stomach is sagging. if i tuck anything you get a great view of the sag. i have no idea how to dress my body and no one i know can help me. i feel totally alone. sorry for dumping.

  • 1) pleats look good on pear shaped women. They make apple shaped women look bigger. 2) flares don’t look good on people with bodies. 3) it doesn’t matter how high my rise is as long as they fit, because I am not going to wear a tight little half-shirt with them. Talk about squeezing out some dough around the middle….

  • most of the styles you discussed are just not things I would wear. I dislike peplum, chiffon, tunic tops and wrap anything. I feel my best in classic pieces like button downs, tailored blazers, suits (love monochrome dressing) and dresses that have a just-above-the-knee skirt length with a tailored look & feel. I feel lost in flowing anything! And longer lengths of skirts are not flattering on me – I just look frumpy.
