How To Make A Relationship Halal Without Marriage?

To convert a haram relationship into halal in Islam, one must first ask for sincere repentance from Allah with a pure intention of not committing the sin again. Secondly, one must get married. Islamic scholars and authority figures unanimously consider good commitment as the key to halal dating.

Marriage is a halal way to pursue relationships, and young Muslims should engage in a relationship with a purpose, meeting the values and goals of the person. Pre-marital romantic relationships are considered haram by Islamic scholars and authority figures, as they involve unlawful sexual intercourse and could be a marriage without parents’ blessing.

Key Muslim dating rules include no physical contact, no sex talk, no sex before marriage, taking things slow, and dating with a chaperone. These rules are based on Islamic principles and are designed to help individuals find a partner who shares their faith and values.

In summary, halal dating is a way to avoid falling into sin and finding a life partner without involving family. To make a relationship halal, one must repent to Allah for the sin they have committed and make a firm resolve not to repeat it in the future.

Do soulmates exist in Islam?

Just like letters in a word, there are soulmates who came together in the word “Be.” Islam also believes in spiritual partnerships, or soulmates. The Quran and Prophetic Tradition are full of them.

Can a haram relationship ever be halal?

If both parties have made Toba, taken a step back, and removed themselves from the sin, and still want to pursue a halal relationship, they do so in the right way. You can’t make something haram halal.

  • He is absolutely in touch with real issues that some people think just NEVER occur in the muslim community yet they are as real as reality is. Cultural parents save money from the very beginning for these extravagant weddings yet they want to return expensive school books and such when they clearly have money saved up. And since the very beginning, before a woman is even born, sometimes a boy that is already born and a few years older than her, they go ahead and promise and prepare for a huge marriage for these two regardless of considering what their choice is and if their choice is otherwise, they threaten their child with religious threats about hell and about death and poverty and about disownment with the child. This is a serious problem and all of this for what? “What will this auntie say?”; “what will this neighbor say?”; “we have to always care about what people will think.” Honestly, a culture like that is sickening.

  • Honestly im so glad this topic was discussed by Mufti Menk and Ali Dawah as it’s such a big issue these days and very common between the youth and I believe many of us will benefit greatly from it. We all needed this knowledge especially from an islamic point of view and coming from someone who knows the difference between Deen and culture. May Allah reward you both

  • As-salāmu ʿalaykum, brother Ali and mufti Menk. May Allah bless you both for this kind of knowledgeable Islamic articles. I am here for one of my sister who is currently going through serious family problem. In short I want to brief it here. The sister had even struggling since 5 years to get her husband to be with her and her 2 little children. Her husband is possessed by magic or evil or jinn, Allah knows the best. He can’t tolerate his wife. This all started since he suddenly started talking to one of his divorced college mate. I have already shared her many husband and wife related articles of mufti Menk plus duas, astagfar related articles of mufti Menk. I also provided her with rouqyah to perform on her entire family however her husband doesn’t stay with her. I really want to get in touch with mufti Menk in getting advice and proper solution. Jazāk Allāhu Khayran

  • indeed, the trend of haram relationships is so common now. When you try to tell someone haram relationships are not good, or someone says aww is that family having a love marriage, so sweet, then when all women together, its like aw yeh its ok nowadays because everyone has some family member doing haram relationships and love marriages, its normal now. Now the trend is set, if anyone then says haram relationships and love marriages are not right, your picked on severely. YA ALLAH SAVE US AND OUR BELIEVING CHILDREN FROM HARAM RELATIONSHIPS, that have now become the norm in many muslim families. Halal relationships are no longer good anymore in this world filled with so much haram. May Allah protect all the believing muslims from the haram in the world. Ameen.

  • My family and I are all Muslim and My sister dated her boyfriend before she married and those dates were not supervised by anyone then on the third date my sister brought him home and then she introduced him to us as her boyfriend and she said that the only approval that she cared about was my approval because she said that she doesn’t care for our dads approval but only mine so she saw how I got along with him and how our mom got along with him and how. Our brother got along with him and how our grandpa got along with him then and only then did she continue to see him and down the road my dad started approving of him once he saw how happy my sister was a few years go by and she gets married to him and no it wasn’t an arranged marriage it was a love marriage and to this day they are still together

  • Parents even if they’ll start perusal most of the time it’s went in one ear out the other, they just think they own a child so they can do whatever they want, and it’s so sad because they lived their life and they don’t care, on top of that they will blame a child for whatever outcome and after all child would have to be kind and respectful and honor them because they’re parents. This is horrible basically parents are the one who destroyed their children life and they are not to blame. Тhis is such a tragedy that many do not even understand

  • I’m living in the UK for nearly 12 years, I’m sorry to say this but this is true we see every day. some of Asian women and man they are very worse sleeping around with different women different man, wallahi I see every day a woman wearing scarf she holding a haram Guy. and when you ask them who he is they so proud themselves my boyfriend or my girlfriend. I feel shamed when I seen muslim Like This! our Muslim women or men are like this. they said we don’t eat haram food but they don’t mind make zina. so dirty wallahi. I feel sick when I sing Muslim people like this copy non Muslim.

Be honest… (Ps: I’m the christian guy and i know it’s something different because of My relegion..

  • Please can you explain who would be responsible in such case? So the son or the daughter who’s life was destroyed just because the parents refuse to let marriage and the child is already suffering by consequences down the road living miserable life and parents aren’t responsible? The sin now is on the child or the parents?
