Is A Tunisian Marriage Recognised In The Uk?

The UK recognizes marriages or civil partnerships if they follow the correct process in the country where they were married. Courts in England and Wales typically recognize foreign marriages if the marriage is legally recognized in the country where the marriage occurred. The marriage ceremony must be recognized as a valid form of marriage by the law of the place of celebration. The UKVI has set out guidance where it will refer marriages conducted abroad for further enquiries.

A marriage that takes place in Tunisia while abroad will be legally recognized in the UK as long as it was negotiated in accordance with that nation’s law, such as Tunisian law. The UK Home Office will recognize any official marriage conducted outside the UK, provided it is a legal Tunisian court marriage that meets local Tunisian rules. If a ceremony is considered valid in the country where the ceremony was performed, both parties to the marriage had the capacity to marry.

A divorced woman can only contract into marriage with her previous husband before the expiration of the validity period. The UK Spouse Visa, commonly known as a UK Marriage Visa, allows non-UK nationals to join their partner in the UK. Your spouse must be either a British citizen or a non-UK national.

In summary, a marriage or civil partnership in the UK can be recognized if it follows the correct process in the country where it took place and is legally recognized under the law.

  • I’m French and married my Bangladeshi husband 17years ago. I never lived in Bangladesh for a long time so my experience is different and I hope it helps someone else. First of all I’m not Muslim and he is but this has never created any issue between us. I learned to cook Bangladeshi dishes from my mother in law and my husband needs his curry at least 3 times a week and we eat western/French food the rest of the time. He loves cooking and so do I, we often cook together.. We don’t have any of his family where we live but I guess I would see my in laws everyday if I lived in Bangladesh. We also don’t have kids and enjoy our quiet life and travelling. Overall I feel he is VERY different from many other men I have seen in Bangladesh who do not cook, ask their wife to stay home.

  • Yeah agreed ako sayo madam. I’m married also bangladeshi and I’m 10 years here in Bangladesh. I learned to read and write bangla because I always with my son when he begin studying in madrasah. I used to set beside him inside thier room from class 1 till class 4. But unfortunately I’m not fluent thier language. Olfo Olfo pare. 😁

  • Filipinos are very impressive people because they can go to any country to settle down and be able to learn the culture, language and way of life of that particular country. Just to inform you that Bangladeshi men and women are very diverse in their way of lifestyle. You have the poor, middle, working and upper classes who live their lives in different levels. There are many men in Bangladesh who have their own property and don’t live in a joint household, like to eat out in restaurants aswell as eat at home, not everyone likes spicy food as many modern generation of Bengalis also like western food, many speak fluent English aswell as Bangla so there are many different qualities of men’s in Bangladesh just as there would be in any other country. Much love and take care, from Sylhet 🇧🇩

  • That’s why I feel proud as a Bangladeshi boy. -Marriage is not toy game, this is religious & social bonding, & committed to stay together till then rest in peace. I like to live with my parents & sibling, & will stay till the rest of the time. In my religion(Islam), religious portion has few rules, I/we must be obey them. And, Bangladesh is well known for its hygienic & delicious food. Only Bangladesh has an “International Mother Language Day”, that’s why its so respected for the all Bangladeshi people. This all things are our proud. If anyone who wants to marry Bangladeshi boy/girl, in the very beginning they are observed/cleared all the matter’s. Bcz, marriage is not toy game, this is religious & social bonding, & committed to stay together till then rest in peace. Support, share, care, understand, everything is equal here, which given preference.

  • You hv very little knowledge about Bangladeshi. Bangladeshi peoples are gentle, polite, honest, hard worker, religious, take very care at their family. They hv a good family bonding. They like to take care his family members though live in single family. They like to keep good relations with their father, mother, sisters, brothers, uncle’s even cousins. If anyone one fall in any problem then everybody help to overcome or handle the situation. They take care their parents untill their death & after their death, they always pray to creator for their parents & others relatives/ all x relative who died before. They also pray for their future generations, all prophet & their followers. If anybody sick then everybody take care by turns until get rid off sickness. Bangladeshi peoples like their family very much . This is like haven in the world. Also Bangali Language is very sweet, peaceful & meaning full. You never get any 2nd country in the world like Bangladesh. Feel proud as a Bangladeshi. Rana fm Bangladesh with Love 💗 🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩

  • I mean if you love someone and want to live the rest of your life with him/her then you might have to sacrifice things that you are comfortable with. You have to make his things yours that includes this vision, problems, family, and all. 1) it’s actually a sad fact that in the west or nuclear family the children don’t care about the parents once they grow up but we are not like them. Even though it’s complex but we are a Muslim-majority country so Islamic values will exist. 2) I know you didn’t mean in that way but it’s hot house main . It’s a housewife or homemaker or domestic engineer. It’s not like they can’t do a job but they prefer to do the noblest job raising a child properly and taking care of your family.A family is not about earning, eating, and sleeping

  • This article needs to be removed from YouTube. It’s offensive and borderline racist. I’m married to a Bengali and not only does he do all the cooking, he cooks food from all different cultures and reduced the spice levels for me. Also what’s wrong with a man who loves his family and he does not live with them. We live together only and he always priorities me without neglecting their rights too. Thirdly, I tried to learn his language but he told me not to. To focus on my well-being and learn things for my benefit only.

  • I’m married to Bangladesh ma now We date for the whole 6 years and got married for 2 years Even today his parents doesn’t know me He was in Bangladesh this year in May In June he got married without my permission He come back in South Africa in October still pretending up until I found out by my self Bangladesh man very selfish…not all of Dem but those who stay in Village too much lier I hope that all ladies who are ready to be married in Bangladesh are ready for the drama of another wife in Bangladesh I’m talking from experience

  • I am Sylheti Bangladeshi 4th generation from England but I don’t have good relationship with my parents lol I am happy to eat different food, my wife doesn’t wear sari or khamis and she doesn’t speak much Sylheti although learning and to top it off she isn’t Bangladeshi lol We speak Sylheti though we are different
