Black Veil Brides, an American rock band formed in 2006 in Cincinnati, Ohio, is known for its melodic heavy rock and a mix of spiritual ideas. The band’s name comes from frontman Andy Biersack’s fascination with Roman Catholicism and the dark. Their first album, We Stitch These Wounds, reached #36 on the Billboards Top 200 album chart in 2010. The band’s third studio album, Wretched and Divine, is set to release in January.
Black Veil Brides is not a Christian, Atheist, or Satanic band, but they have never promoted or associated themselves with such beliefs. The true meaning of the Black Veil Brides symbol is subjective and can vary from person to person. The band’s music is based on the idea of fear and shadows, and their music is not about helping teens or kids who are outcasts in their lives.
The band is not your average hair metal band, as their music affirms eternity, sacrifice, and holiness. They are not a religious band, as the term “Black Veil Bride” is a Catholic term for when a lady marries into the church. Instead, they are a performance band that puts on a show when they perform in concert.
While Andy Biersack is a musician in real life, the vocals for songs in the movie were done by Remington Leith, the lead singer of Palaye. Black Veil Brides is a unique and diverse group that continues to inspire and entertain fans.

What is the Black Veil Brides controversy?
People envy those who brag about a party lifestyle. They envy people who are doing what they love for a living. They’re envious when they think one of the members has a record-producer father. Some well-known musicians have made negative comments about the band, including Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch and Phil LaBonte of All That Remains. They say Black Veil Brides are not really metal. Black Veil Brides lyrics deal with heavy metal topics. They appeal to those who feel like outsiders. They like weirdos and tell fans to believe in themselves. I realized my problem with Black Veil Brides has nothing to do with whether they’re metal. They’re clearly metal. The problem is that the band is seen as emo by some old-school metal fans. Their name means a woman who marries into the church gives up all her pleasures to devote herself to God. It’s both good and bad. The combination of dark, heavy music (nowadays deemed as emo) with a rebellious attitude and a younger audience rubs older metalheads the wrong way. The band has changed a lot. Each new record is different. The band’s appearance has also changed. It’s hard to take a young band seriously when they demand respect for their consistent music.
What does the black veil symbolize?

What did the black veil represent?
Symbols. The black veil symbolizes secret sin and human nature. This could represent the sin we all carry in our hearts, or it could be a representation of Mr. Hooper’s sin, which some readers think is adultery. The Ministers Black Veil is a short story by Nathaniel Hawthorne. It was first published in 1836 in The Token and Atlantic Souvenir, edited by Samuel Goodrich. It appeared in 1837 in Twice-Told Tales, a collection of short stories by Hawthorne.
Plot summary: The story starts with the sexton ringing the bell outside the meeting house. He stops ringing the bell when the Reverend Mr. Hooper comes into sight. But the congregation sees something unusual. Mr. Hooper is wearing a black veil that covers his face. The townspeople wonder about the veil and what it means. Mr. Hooper’s sermon is about secret sin. It’s darker than usual because of Mr. Hooper’s mood. The congregation is concerned about their own secret sins and the new minister’s appearance. After the sermon, a funeral is held for a young woman from the town who has died. Mr. Hooper stays for the funeral and keeps his veil on. If the veil blew away, he might be afraid of her gaze. Mr. Hooper says a few prayers and the body is carried away. Two mourners say they saw the minister and the maidens walking together. That night, another happy event happens: a wedding. But Mr. Hooper comes back in his veil, making the wedding gloomy. By the next day, even the kids are talking about the strange change in their minister. No one can ask Mr. Hooper about the veil except for his fiancée Elizabeth. Elizabeth tries to make him take it off. He won’t take it off, even when they’re alone, and he won’t tell her why he wears it. She gives up and breaks off the engagement.

I love the idea behind this article and look forward to seeing more. I think that in the future you should try finding more about the band collectively, or maybe for other members as well, because I notice a lot are Andy-centric. Then again, most of BVB and the BVB fandom is made up of mostly Andy and what Andy does so I mean, I get that half of these were more so Andy facts than BVB. I hate to be that fan, but just a bit of constructive criticism 🙂 In my opinion, at least. Loved the article regardless. ☺️💕
*10 crazy facts about Andy Biersack. Come in dude Jinxx missed a good chunk of warped a few years back due to a genetic disorder. Jake produces records for another band. Ashley originally came to Black Veil Brides to try to steal members from Andy’s band for his own. CC got kicked out of his high school marching band for wearing an Afro underneath his hat. There’s so much you could have said about the other band members.
TBH bryan I LOVE your music! well most of it. I really prefer acoustic with your voice. Or just slower kind of music. Like this one in the outro I love it It has meaning it has a message, and you can HEAR that this song was made with meaning, and for a reason. Keep doing what you do, because no matter what style of music you make as long as you keep it with the meaning you are putting in your songs, you can’t go wrong. :)Good luck to you and your music career.
My own opinion: Andy continued his show even though he couldn’t breathe or talk only because he cared about the BVB army not cuz he’s “tough” But I seriously think this should be made into a series where Bryan covers ALL of Black Veil Brides where it’s not all about the main singer. I’m sure we would all like to know about Ashley, Jinxx, Jake, and CC and their stories. But it’s my own opinion. 😉
Love BVB to death, but people are getting worked up over the fact that almost everything “about BVB” is about Andy. Yes, it’s going to be like that because Andy is the face of the band and is, of course, the frontman. I hate to say it, but that’s how all bands are usually seen. Frontman = most attention.
This song is one of my favorites from The Mourning, as well as one of my all time BVB faves. I got to see this band in September in Detroit and it was the best concert I’ve ever been to. Seeing a band that’s been a huge part of my life, eventually becoming my all time favorite band, was so surreal and I’m still not over it. Love this band so much and every song they put out means everything to me
Brilliant as always!! You guys are one reason my wife loves me the way she does 🙂 She met you guys here in Great Falls during the Wretched and Divine tour and as soon as she found out that we’ve both listened to your music since Highschool…. I think that’s when she decided she would be my wife. 🙂 So.. Thank you.
I’m not usually one to comment on here but… Hell no, I’m not keeping out of this one for sure! BVB helped me through the worst of times and kept me going no matter what. Wasn’t always in a good place mentally and/or physically but listening to them and keeping up with their songs (and all around them) made me who I am now. I’m so grateful for it and for the fact I grew up listening them over and over again when feeling down and as if I’m not worth it. Their sole existence keeps me motivated and strong. Thank you for all you gave me and keep giving me. 😍😍😍 The worst part is that I for the matter have no way of meeting them whatsoever anytime soon or perhaps ever as I’m always occupied or well.. Honestly because of the distance and them not coming where I live. Sucks to live in Europe tbh and mostly Bulgaria.. But that won’t change the fact that I’m always going to be part of that Black Veil Brides ARMY and support them however I can from far away.
