Is Corpse Bride A Children’S Movie?

Corpse Bride is a captivating and visually stunning animated film directed by Tim Burton, Mike Johnson, and John August. The movie follows the story of Victor Van Dort (Johnny Depp) and Victoria Everglot (Emily Watson), two young couples who have arranged their wedding in a gloomy Victorian-era village. Despite their love for each other, Victor is nervous about the ceremony.

The film is set in a 19th-century European village, where Victor is whisked away to the underworld and wed to a mysterious corpse bride. His real bride, Victoria, waits bereft in the land of the living. The movie is rated PG in the USA, but not recommended for young children due to its heavy use of alcohol, tobacco, and violence.

The movie is a sweet, moving fantasy that is geared towards adults over kids. It features a ghoulish fun and is geared towards adults over kids. The movie is rated PG, but due to heavy use of alcohol, one instance of tobacco, and notable use of violence (especially an instance of near-death), it would be up to PG-13.

Despite being marketed as a kids movie, Corpse Bride is enjoyable but suffers from mediocre musical numbers. Parts of the plot are tragic and morbid, making it dangerously inappropriate for children. Overall, Corpse Bride is a delightful film with scares that most 10-year-olds can handle.

Why did Emily not marry Victor?

Emily is willing to help those she cares for, even if it means giving up her own happiness. She stops Victor from killing himself and lets Victoria be with him. She’s usually kind, but Victor encouraged her to marry him. (Even though he was alive and she was dead). She was jealous of Victoria and thought Victor didn’t love her because she was dead. She planned to marry Victor, even though it would make Victoria unhappy. She learns not to use her emotions for selfish reasons. She saw how depressed Victoria was and saved her from marrying Barkis. She learns that she can’t steal happiness just to achieve her own. She decides to stop her wedding with Victor so he and Victoria can be happy. She takes off her wedding ring, gives it back to Victor, and leaves the church. Emily is at peace.

Biography. Emily was the daughter of a wealthy Victorian-era family. She was educated in music. She surprised Victor with her piano skills. She was also known as a beautiful woman, which suggests she had many admirers. Emily met Lord Barkis Bittern, a poor man she fell in love with. Her parents didn’t approve because he was poor. Barkis convinced Barkis to elope with him using his charm when her parents rejected her marriage proposal. They met at 3 a.m. under an oak tree in the woods. On that foggy night, Emily left wearing her mother’s wedding dress and carrying a small fortune (a gold bag with the family jewels) with her, the last at Lord Barkis’ request. The young lady didn’t know her groom-to-be only proposed to steal her family’s fortune.

Don’t see this film. It’s weird, violent, and too mature for children. One person liked it. One of the best movies. 2 people found this helpful. Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride was one of the best animated movies ever. My mom and I are happy he made another great animated film since The Nightmare Before Christmas. We waited 10 years. The wait was worth it. The Corpse Bride is a great, emotional story with heart. We loved it in the theater and can’t wait to see it again this weekend. The visuals are amazing. You have to see the movie to appreciate them. The characters look great, and there are lots of new characters in this movie that will keep your eyes on the screen. Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Emily Watson’s voices are full of emotion. The music goes well with the movie and the songs sound great. My favorite was “Remains of the Day,” a fun, jazzy song with Danny Elfman’s cool voice. My other favorite was Tears to Shed. It made me cry. Helena Bonham Carter sang that song with heartbreak, and I loved it! The story is entertaining and has a lot of heart. I loved the dialogue. My favorite lines were “Why go up there when people are dying to get down here” and “Can a heart still break once its stopped beating?” This movie makes you less afraid of death. In this movie, death is more fun than living. The dead always have a good time, so you don’t mind dying. If you’re afraid of death, this movie will help. I highly recommend it. I hope Tim Burton wins an Oscar for Best Animated Movie. He deserves it! Thank you, Tim Burten, for Corpse Bride, Nightmare Before Christmas, and all your great films. The story is about a dead girl named Emily who takes Victor to the underworld. There are lots of songs and entertainment!

This movie includes references to dead bodies, skeletons, decay, and death, but they’re all in good fun. The corpse bride’s eye pops out to show the talking maggot who lives inside and offers romantic advice.

A Lot or a Little? What you will and won’t find in this movie. Corpse Bride begins with Victor Van Dort and Victoria Everglott getting married. Their parents, Nell and William Van Dort (Tracey Ullman and Paul Whitehouse) and Maudeline and Finis Everglot (Joanna Lumley and Albert Finney), expect the marriage to make both families better off. When Victor messes up the rehearsal, Pastor Galswells sends him to practice his vows. Victor finally gets it right, slipping the ring onto a twig in the dark woods. But it’s not wood. It’s the finger of the Corpse Bride (Helena Bonham Carter). Victor goes to the Bride’s netherworld. Victor wants to go back to Victoria, who is being courted by another man. He also feels sorry for the bride, who is lonely. He hesitates, lies, and watches his life and possible death go on around him. Families can talk about Victor’s dilemma. Can a 9 year old watch Corpse Bride?

A classic Halloween movie with a spooky theme. I was worried it would be short, but it wasn’t. The ending is great. It’s rated PG, but it’s PG-13 because of alcohol, tobacco, and violence. I recommend it.

A sweet, cute movie. I love Tim Burton’s work. I like the live-action stuff better, but the animated films remind me of when I was a kid. My daughter loves this kind of artwork and animation too. My daughter is 8, so she knows about marriage and death. There are some jokes for adults, but this is a great movie for the whole family. There are references to bones, maggots, and death, but in a silly Halloween style. It has singing, fantasy elements, and the dead/Underworld. It’s all in fun, so I don’t have any issues as a parent.

Is The Corpse Bride dark?

The title of Corpse Bride is unsettling yet inviting. The movie has a light and dark atmosphere, but love unites the two. This movie is more adult. It’s more adult than Tim Burton’s other films. The story is about a confusing romance. A younger audience might misunderstand the love story. The movie is about Victor, who is planning his wedding to Victoria. They fall in love without even meeting. Is that true? As the movie goes on, Victor can’t seem to get his vows right. He rehearses his vows and puts the ring on a twig. That wasn’t true. It was Emily’s (Corpse Bride) dead finger. Emily died on her wedding day. She’s back and wants to make Victor happy. She doesn’t know Victor has fallen in love with Victoria. Meanwhile, Victoria’s parents are about to marry her off. But they’re all unhappy. One of them is dead. This movie is well put together. All of Burtons films are. It has an eerie tone with a happy message. Most movies back then tried to be happy. I recommend this movie for family nights, movie recommendations, or any occasion. 4/5.

What did Emily from Corpse Bride look like before she died?

Appearance. Emily was tall and beautiful with a slim figure. She was probably just as plain and dull as everyone else. Bonejangles says Emily was a beautiful woman. She’s still graceful as a corpse. Her lips are purple, and her skin is blue. After her death, her dark hair and pale skin turned blue, and her big eyes became wide and black. They look gaunt and sunken. There is a hole in her cheek that shows her skin is deteriorating and reveals her white teeth. She still has nails on her right hand. Her left arm is just bone under her left arm. Her ribs are showing through her wedding dress. Her right leg is almost bone except for her foot and ankle, which look like a baggy sock. Her nose is a bit bony. Did Victor ever love Emily?

After thinking Victoria gave him a rebound since he’s married, why not get married too? Heartbroken, Victor decided to devote himself to Emily. He even agreed to give up his life for her. How scary is Coraline?

Intense scenes. In the “One, two, three!” scene, the Other Mother is unhappy with Coraline’s demands. She becomes half witch, half mother. This is the scariest scene in the film. The Beldam screams, “Don’t leave me!” I’ll die without you! The Beldam can be frightening. A man in creepy circus clothing reveals he’s not a person and takes off his top hat, and rats come out of his clothes. One of the scariest parts is when Coraline looks for one of the eyes in the theater and opens a giant candy wrapper. She sees two candy people’s hands with a ring with the eye on it. She pulls the hands, and the candy people yell “thief” and grab her hand. Coraline throws a flashlight at bats, and they eat the candy people. The main character gets separated from her parents and almost gets tricked by the villain. The movie changes direction in the second act. The film starts as a family movie but becomes a horror film. The villain is scary, especially to those who are afraid of dolls and spiders. The villain looks like a doll but slowly turns into a spider. It’s one of the scariest animated movies ever made. It should have been rated PG-13, even though it’s stop-motion and the main character is a kid. The plot is disturbing: a demon disguises herself as the mother of the victims to steal their souls and eat their lives. Coraline searches for the eyes of three ghost children who were killed by the Other Mother.
