What if…stay with me here…what if Mikayala thought she liked the color change but was so used to black, she decided to change it back (at no fault of the stylist). But Mikayla was embarrassed to hire the same stylist/colorist that spent all that time and effort on the other color, so to avoid an awkward situation, she bought a box of dye and did it herself. It’s not as exciting as all the other theories, but I’d bet it’s pretty spot on. It’s her hair, as long as she paid the stylist, she can do whatever tf she wants to it. But she might also recognize that the stylist put a lot of time into the color change and doesn’t want her to feel insulted or like her time was wasted or try to talk Mikayla out of going back to black without waiting.
People can change their mind. With her wedding coming up she might have decided to have the color she’s comfortable with instead of something new that me might regret later. Maybe after the stylists put in all that work for her, she felt too embarrassed to go back and say never mind change it back… I don’t know but what a silly thing for her followers to get riled up about. Also, she didn’t use “box dye.” It looks like she was maybe using ION…..which requires choosing the right developer to mix with it, as well as choosing a toner if needed and then making sure you have the proper developer for that. The professional did everything correctly. I am surprised McKayla had hair left on her head. A black dye can be a nightmare to lift. It’s not just the surface color, but the hidden banding underneath that can give a “spotted leopard effect.” That being said, slow and careful was the way, and it was looking pretty. I guess McKayla wanted black. Her hairdresser could have filled it and brought her back to a rich deep brown that looks black to the naked eye but still has reflection and shine, but…to each his/her own. I don’t understand the hate towards the hairdresser, though. LOL If clients want to mess around with their hair, that’s fine, but their expectations for change should be very minimal when lifting out black box dye. It will be WARM for a while. You’ll be fighting brass until it can be safely lifted. Hair is like fabric. It can only take so much abuse. less than 1% of the planet has natural BLACK hair, btw.
