My wife and I visited the Sugar Beach as ‘visitors’. The setting is magnificent for sure. All beaches on St. Lucia are public. With that said, IMMEDIATELY after we made it to the beach, we were approached by ‘locals’ who pushed us to take a ride on one of their boats to snorkle or to take us elsewhere around the island. We denied. This is a normal occurrance as we found out at other beaches we visited.
