Hi Everyone in today’s article I don’t know how folks felt that we where giving Chessecake factory a bad review. We pointed out a few (personal) opinions. Overall we had a good experience and would do it again. We are just two everyday (non foodie) folks just sharing our review with you. Thanks so much for perusal ❤
The first time there can be overwhelming and I know the menu is, BUT it is one of the few places I can go and they have real chefs making real food and not using microwave or pre-cooked food and just heating it up. I agree it is expensive but I get what I pay for and I have to say that the BBQ ranch chicken salad is always awesome and the plain cheesecake or with strawberries is the best !!
I’ve never been there. We don’t eat out much. If going to a restaurant that might be pricey maybe read the menu online first so you know what to expect. That way you can read exactly what’s on the food in case you don’t like it and don’t waste your money. My daughter brought home a piece of their peanut butter cheesecake and she loved it. Blessings from Diane in Oklahoma! ❤️
Cheesecake Factory is pricey but still really good I think. I would say give it another try and order something different. I’m sure the description of the Hibachi Steak would have let you know about all the toppings. Maybe try the plain Strawberry Cheesecake next time if you don’t want other flavors in there. HIGHLY RECOMMEND the FRIED MACARONI AND CHEESE. Love the article and appreciate your honesty!! 💜💜💜
I loved your honest review of The Cheesecake Factory. I have always wanted to go there and it seemed a little pricey when I looked it up before. I loved Dawn and the wasabi🤣 I once accidentally mistook wasabi for guacamole so I know how you feel. I love y’all both. Thank you for keeping it real. l appreciate your articles
We eat here once a week – Minnetonka, MN – one it because the menu is so huge and they stayed open when other restaurants closed in Minnesota due to Covid as they had an outdoor patio as well which was heated. The food portions are gigantic and if you share the price is great. Love the pizza, salads, brussel sprouts, chicken marsala, burgers, club sandwich, omelettes, I could go on and on! They had a gift card deal the day after thanksgiving with buy a 25 dollar gift card and get two slices of cheesecake for free – it is a great deal. 17 dollars worth of cheesecake for free! The rest of the holiday season you get one slice for free – still a good deal. Happy hour is 4-5 pm and can also save you some more money with half price appetizers.
My opinion on Cheesecake Factory, we order a plate and share. (Chicken Madeira) is wonderful, but I have noticed the chicken is a smaller portion (managing food costs I’m certain). Best bet on the Cheese cake is the Original with Strawberry, and hint, hint, wink, wink…the slice has gotten a bit thinner as well. I can’t do wasabi! No way Jose!
I use to eat at Cheescake Factory a lot when I lived in Sugar Land TX. You are correct that the cheesecake lacks the traditional cheesecake flavor. My favorite is the caramel flavor…Dolce La Leche or something like that. My favorite menu item was the Romano Crusted Chicken with a side of spaghetti with tomato sauce. Occasionally I would get the Shrimp Scampi but it really had way too much garlic. Angel hair pasta with shrimp is good. I never got a steak there because, as Will said, they hide the steak in all kinds of sauces. They come out with a new cheesecake flavor every July. I really like the Red Velvet but it is super sweet. It is expensive but a nice treat too.
Cheesecake Factory has been around in Atlanta, Ga for years. I think it is too pricey. If you want to experience just their cheesecake go to Walmart or Publix and purchase the variety box. I believe there are 3 or 4 flavors included. I think it is delicious! You can find it in the frozen cake/pie section. Also, I have seen the wheat loaves of bread for sale in the grocery store.
Cheesecake factory suffers from trying to do too much. I’ve had great things and ok things and terrible things. The key when ordering is to ask the staff what are the things everyone orders. Plus it’s always risky getting pasta or steak outside of a restaurant that specializes in those items. I’d encourage you to try it again with different items and for sure get a real cheesecake next time! You probably picked one of the worst options unfortunately.
We love the Cheesecake Factory. It’s a place we go for special celebrations. We have to travel about an hour or so away to Raleigh to visit the closest one to us. We live near the NC coast. My personal favorite is Parmesan Crusted Chicken and tuxedo cheesecake. I have had the burgers too. They are wonderful. Our family of 5 has tried many different things and we’ve discovered what we love and what we don’t. Give it another try.
The Cheesecake Factory ALWAYS has large plates so they are definitely shareable!!! They have soooo many choices!! Even though I LOVE this restaurant, I would prefer to have a softer butter ( with a butter knife) and unfortunately there are a few dishes and desserts that are not my favorite But they do have ALOT of great food. Next time when you are thinking about ordering a ” new and different ” dish, make sure you ask your server about it first to make sure that is exactly what you want. I personally LOVE their salmon!!! And also you can take the cheesecakes to go!!! Hope this helps!!
They are a little bit of on the expensive side! But, definitely a great splurge, one of the best things is the pan roasted chicken with mashed potatoes is absolutely delicious. Always got to get a slice of cheese or 2 to go for us cheesecake lovers, but, still can’t beat the traditional favorite of mine, which is the simple Strawberry cheesecake. There cheesecake is definitely the best because, they make theirs different and,it’s made much more creamier.
Next time try the Chicken Parmesan pizza style. I’ts really good and different. I agree the menu is way too large but that is what make cheesecake factory who they are. I felt you both did a great review. Very honest and full of good information and opinions. Can’t go wrong with Cheesecake for dessert.
I liked the Renee Lunch. I bet the Chicken Almond Salad is delicious in a upscale place such as the Cheese Factory. 1720 calories for “1” slice of Carrot Cake Cheesecake is the calorie intake I have to use for the day. I’d have to skip the cheesecake. Love the atmosphere. Very inviting. I’d love to visit one day. Dawn, I love your shirt.
That’s expensive for that quality of food. Id rather go to the green rise or somewhere once instead of two times to a place like this. Y’all have a more than fair review. Ive never been to a Cheesecake Factory. I don’t like the commercially massed produced food the chains bring in and try to warm up and serve like it’s prepared fresh from start to finish. I think that’s why that meat had all those sauces on it. That stuff comes in premarinated and sauce packets etc in order to maintain consistency from one restaurant to another. Like an Applebees etc
Thank you for a thorough and honest review. The menu and cheesecake selections had so many choices it would be difficult to narrow down a selection. The prices look steep but maybe for a special occasion or get together with a lot of people in order to please everyone with something they will like. The salad and mashed potatoes looked delicious. I would probably want that with a different (not wasabi) steak. The perfect cheesecake would be harder to pick. What did you think of their soft drink selection? I’m a sweet tea or lemonade fan. Thank you both Dawn and Will. I enjoyed your dining experience!
20 or so years ago you could go into a resturant and order chicken or hamberger or steak and you were brought what you ordered plain and simple. If there were any gravy or sauces they would be in a dish on the side letting you put it on if you want to. But now they pile dishes stacked on top of each other like the hambergers are so big you have to eat it with a fork I hate that.
I have a funny story when the cheesecake factory in Pittsburgh opened up I really wanted to go so my husband took me there for my 50th birthday but he would not let me try the cheesecake afterward and I was devastated and kind of angry and on the way home I wanted to stop at my parents because they had asked me to stop on the way and he kept saying no I just want to go home and I was very upset well he finally agreed to stop and here he had planned a big surprise party at my parents and was just teasing me and the reason he didn’t want me to get the cheesecake is because he had ordered a huge cake for the party LOL
I am the kind of person whom doesn’t like to mix her food. Keep it separated. I guess they are trying to make food look like a piece of art. I don’t get it . If i order a steak that is what I want in front of me. Food is way to expensive not to be what you ordered. I would guess Dawn is more like me .keep it simple also you to Will.
I had a friend once who wanted everything very hot when it arrived. I thought it was fine but they would always send theirs back to the kitchen. Always. You could count on it. It’s been a long time since I have heard anyone else mention it. I did notice they had regular steak on the menu when you went through it. I guess you have to really read what you are ordering and imagine what it might be like. I didn’t think your wife’s food looked that good either. Yours did look good but I don’t know what it tastes like. Better luck next time.
I’ve been to the Cheesecake Factory a couple times and the food is never hot. It’s always Luke warm I think it’s bc most of their main ingredients in dishes are frozen so they have to thaw. I still enjoy them. I have had bad experiences with them though. It really just depends on what day and time you go. I have gotten food they was frozen in the middle before. They are a hit or miss
Sorry guys but NYC has the best Cheesecake in the country. You have to try Juniors in Brooklyn or S and S Cheesecake in the Bronx. New York has the best tasting water in the country. That’s why everything from Cheesecake to Pizza to Bagels and everything else taste so much better in NYC. Whenever I go on vacation I lose ten pounds because the food does not taste as good outside NYC.
I checked the menu to see exactly what it had to say about what the two of your ordered. The only wasabi that was mentioned on Will’s dish was the wasabi mashed potatoes. Nothing was mentioned about wasabi being on the habachi steak. I also like to enjoy my steak plain and without any sauces. I was surprised to see that Dawn’s trio had baked rigatoni and not lasagna. Most Italian trios have chicken parmesan, lasagna and Fettucine Alfredo. I am thinking that the rigatoni is cheaper and easier to prepare than lasagna. We have been to Cheesecake Factory a few times when on vacation. We don’t have one anywhere near us here in our rural area. The closest one to us would be in Charlotte NC which is about 200 miles from us!
Hey guys, I missed your show on the Cheesecake Factory until just last night. I have been eating at their restaurants for over 25 years and I was hoping beyond hope that you would try the BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad as an entree. Definitely one of their top sellers and is phenomenal. Also try the Tex-Mex egg rolls as an appetizer and you will not be disappointed. The Tuxedo as a cheesecake choice is outstanding especially if you like chocolate. I’m a chocoholic so I even get a side of hot fudge to pour on it, a little at a time, and it is beyond yummy. My wife Jackie and I are in our 70’s with very good health and love your shows. We just watched the entire European adventure to London and Paree. Blessings on your future travels and hope to see you one day in the Smoky Mountains as that is one of our favorite places to visit.
I don’t like food that is covered in sauce and stuff. Yep, can’t go to The Cheesecake Factory without getting cheesecake…….Publix has a real good cheesecake for a lot less money……would not like a server hoovering over every minute…….also, I would think there would be a description of the meals on the menu.
Loved the article and your honest review of it, and I agree with your opinion about it! Definitely overpriced. Not bad food but can definitely get better at other places for more reasonable prices. Also loved meeting you guys today, along with Smokey Mountain Hiker and Smokey Mountain Rider! Y’all are just wonderful folks!!
Wonderful article on the Cheese Cake Factory the food looks so amazing and you got to love lol Dawn’s facial expressions when she tastes something for the first time and Will I agree with ya I am kind of picky as well I like to taste the steak and not have tons of things all over it but I do like having mushrooms on mine though and I love Pumpkin Pie unfortunately I won’t be getting my favorite pumpkin pie this Thanksgiving from an amazing well the best cook ever from my ex because she can cook and bake she is most definitely one of the best and I know all my reviews always start out with my ex but I have her to Thank for sharing so many moments with especially the Cheese Cake Factory that place is amazing the food is so good I believe I had just a hamburger nothing really special and no I didn’t get the Cheesecake because me being diabetic I can’t eat it and I can’t remember if my ex did or not but everyone says the Cheesecake there is so amazing I would definitely recommend it and recommend going as well for anyone who read’s the reviews as well.
I have eaten at Cheesecake Factory, if you thought you were getting a plain steak, and you got a dish you couldn’t eat, I would absolutely tell them. It should have been written on the menu that it was prepared with Wasabi. If you can’t eat food at a restaurant because it is not to your satisfaction, tell them and they will get you something else. Don’t be afraid to ask for something you don’t have, napkins, the proper dinnerware, if food is cold, tell them. You are the customer and you don’t want to pay for unedible food, etc. If you want to order something, and are not sure what is in it, or how it is prepared, ask your waitress and she will explain how the food is prepared, if it is served hot or cold. They be want you to enjoy your meal and service so, please ask questions and talk to your waitress. I am not trying to be critical but am trying to tell you to know what you are ordering so you can enjoy your whole meal. I enjoy your program and all of your adventures and just hope my advise is helpful. God’s blessings, Diane
