Why do Arabs wear headbands?

People in the Arabian Peninsula and the Mediterranean covered their heads as a sign of respect and modesty long before Islam. During Muhammad’s lifetime, Arab men wore turbans, hats, caps, and head scarves. Turbans were popular until the mid-19th century, when the keffiyeh and head rope (agal) became popular. They evolved in the 20th century into badges of national identity in many countries of the Middle East. The pattern of the red-and-white cotton keffiyeh shown here is said to come from ancient Mesopotamian symbols for wheat or fishing nets. Men usually fold the square keffiyeh into a triangle, with the long edge over the forehead and the points at the shoulders and back. The agal, once a rope for hobbling camels, now holds the keffiyeh on the head. Gold and silk wrapped around wool (originally camel hair) show wealth and status.

  • she did not explain what is mandatory. wearing Hijab/Burqa is not Mandatory. It’s her choice like she was wearing a hijab with jeans(though she was wearing tight jeans). nothing in Quran stated you must wear Hijab/Burqa… our religion gives us a freedom and it makes our life simple. but we are making it complex. Quran/hadis says your dress must be modest..very simple.. why we are making it complex

  • Firstly, I think hijabs are so pretty, but I think it’s a contradiction that many Muslim women wear makeup. Makeup is meant to beautify women and make more sexy. Also I don’t think it’s fair that Muslim men don’t cover- arab men are some of the most good looking men I’ve seen. Lastly, it’s men that should be taught not to stare, lust etc. not place every dang responsibility on women.

  • I’m a Muslim woman and I think saying that the burqa “is a choice” is incredibly naiive. A lot of women in Afghanistan used to wear traditional/cultural clothing before the taliban took over and forced them to wear the burqa. I live in a very Western country and I have aunties who are all forced to wear something similar to the burqa by their husbands. If they had the choice, they would prefer to wear cultural/traditional clothes instead (which is still as modest, mind you). So unless a woman lives in a free country, free from both the restrictions of her own family as well as the government in regards to Islamic clothing, the burqa is rarely ever a “choice”.

  • She seemed to have had kind of a attitude about it and that’s fine if she was frustrated when it came to trying to explain it but as someone who wears a hijab we get a bad rap so please watch the attitude when you’re trying to explain something that is so important to all of us to people who don’t understand

  • I just wanted to say to muslims and non-muslims dont judge pple simply by the way they dress. Pple have different way to express their love to God. So Muslim women cover themselves I myself take hijab only, my friends wear abaya (the black cloak) and i even have frnds who do niqab and frnds who dont even take hijab its not a big ordeal. I’m proud to be frm Pakistan where there is no judging simply by the way pple dress and the same way it is in India as well.

  • Did anyone else notice how she was visibly offended when he mentioned the word oppressive? It IS manditory in some Islamic States for a woman to COMPLETELY cover her face, head, and body. Those women do NOT have a choice of how to wear it, so I have no idea what she is actually talking about! She is obviously ignorant of her own Muslim brothers and sisters, and how differenty their cultures are in certain places. Unbelievable.

  • She is not knowledgeable at all. The all-encompassing head-to-toe covering, the one in middle, is called chaadaree and is worn in Afghanistan. Back in the old days, chaadaree was worn by the Royal females in Afghanistan so as not to be recognised in public when they went out. Overtime, other Afghan women started wearing too. That’s culture. The Arabic version of such covering is called boshiya, except the eyes are not covered. Like the one on the left. The one on the right, wearing abaya (long coat down to toes) with head scarf is what’s mandatory. It’s modest. Covers everything except face, hands and feet. It’s loose where body shape is hidden too. This is true hijab (covering) and required.

  • I know her intentions were good, but don’t kid yourself some women DO NOT have a choice in some Muslim Countries. To the point where they are punished for not covering up or even assaulted. Not even in America in some households, at all but some (Muslim households). I think people should start talking about both sides of hijab and the differences of meanings of hijab in other countries. I don’t mind if she the woman wants to wear one, however, they must understand the meaning of wearing one and understand that in some countries it’s enforced by law (countries that practice a more strict version of Sharia).

  • Exactly it’s not a choice it is to her because she is living in America, in Saudi Arabia it’s not a choice and most Islamic countries it’s not a choice! It’s just ridiculous isn’t it! These people man I’m not going to slag her off she seems like a nice woman but come on laugh your not fooling anyone here! And btw I’m an open minded person and I love culture love countries and love history I just don’t like to see ethnic cleansing which is happening in Britain right now! Unfortunately

  • Ya Allah…. Ok I’ll walk those of you who ended up more confused than ever…. The first one is actually what the modern description of hijab is – and that’s what made the origin of the word hijab- women who use this covering usually cover their hair and their chests . This isn’t the true original covering that was used at the times of prophet Muhammad pbuh, but these are also very modest and they do the job when used correctly ! This type of hijab is what mostly western Muslim women wear, and some parts of Asia. Including me ! The second and the third one are what is referred to as khimar in arabic or its also known as jilbab – they cover everything from head to toe. Some women choose to show their eyes and some don’t. It depends on what the women are comfortable with ! These are what are believed to be authentic coverings for a woman’s body – but pre Arabian women didn’t cover their face as from what I have heard and read. They would wear the khimar – drape it across thei entire body and chest but their face remained uncovered. This version of khimar is sought to have originated in countries like India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. It’s also what’s the staple choice in most of the middle Eastern countries although women have become very flexible in choosing what they like ! And if you want to know the purpose / reason for why we are ordered to cover our bodys, God speaks in the Qur’an: “And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts) and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent (like both eyes for necessity to see the way, or outer palms of hands or one eye or dress like veil, gloves, headcover, apron), and to draw their veils all over Juyoobihinna (i.

  • The thing that is important is the “Sattar” which is covering of the head (not face) and arms (not hands) and legs (not feet) and the dress should be loose not making ur body parts prominent. If ur dress code obeys it than there shud be no problem. And as for men they should worry about there “sattar” which is from belly button till there knees covering there knees completely Women are made more attractive than men thats why they r asked to cover themselves more Hope this piece of info helps 😊😊

  • First is hayaa of a woman or a man. Talking about this Allaah is ordering to both men and women about hayaa and which is to keep their eyes and gaze down, first Allaah order it to men to do that and then to women. Tell the believing men to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.). That is purer for them. Verily, Allah is All-Aware of what they do. 31. “And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts) and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent (like both eyes for necessity to see the way, or outer palms of hands or one eye or dress like veil, gloves, headcover, apron), and to draw their veils all over Juyoobihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms)…” (Ref: surah al-Noor 24 verse: 30-31) So. When sayyadina Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) was asked about the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):

  • It is your choice, however you will have to face consequences for what you choose. No one has the right to force you because at the end of the day you will be the only one to be judge by God, Allah. Although, your family or anybody can advice you and/or try to show you to the right way by three ways using : 1) hand — do something NON-VIOLENT 2) tongue — advice them or tell them in a nice way 3) heart — ask God, Allah to guide their path to goodness REMEMBER, if you do not tell them or try your best to change them to become more knowledgeable of what they have been doing IN A NICE WAY, then you also get a portion of what ever the sin they committed. The reason why is because we all are humans that have mistakes and forget, and we only check out the mistakes and how different others are …….. I guess we are good at that Thank you, and it was my pleasure to be a helpful Muslim for all my brothers and sisters in humanity ************Salam===islam====> means PEACE 😊

  • I think in this section, she is accurate, considering her audience. Muhammad SAW said we should consider our audience when speaking, and take into consideration their understanding, so I’m not sure if she actually knows, that some scholars advise that a face covering is mandatory, but it is true that different people have different interpretations, just as some Christians interpret the meaning of Corinthians II and how women should also cover…

  • She did a straightforward good job. She used the word attractive. The covering of attractive parts. The same reason western women do not wear one part swimming briefs as men do on beaches in the west. The ultimate logic of these attacks, is that it would be ok to strip women on beaches of their breast covering ! For some of us breasts are about feeding offspring. For others a titillating sexual enticement. I know that in private safe places, such as all women spaces, devout women do not keep the head garments on ! You can meet such women in all women health spas, totally naked ! It is the attention of men that is being avoided, the sexualisation of women in public spaces that is being thwarted. I believe it is THAT which is forcefully objected to by MEN. In other words they like to relate to women as sexual commodities, and get very angry when women refuse to comply !

  • I think these fashions look beautiful, and could very well be the future, things change. I may be 22, but I will not live passed 100 years maybe, and life still will go on after me changing and evolving. We humans are grown to adapt, it may be unpopular and wrong now to some, but it is in no way bad for your body to put on extra layers.

  • LIsten All of you who say that burqa is force to them its not forced to wear its essential in Islam but the forms like hijab and stylish fashionable black suites are not burqa these are just a modern fashion followed by the Modern society by their on choice but it is not a islamic way to wear these types of hijab or black fitted to skin suits these are just fashion.

  • It’s not choice, it’s obligatory by islamic rule Whether it’s forced on you it depends or your family, government or environment But not violently forced, it’s just like school and education, some parents will force you to go to school, do homework get good grades etc They do it because they love you and want you to have good future Same thing with hijab, some parents force it because they love their families and dont want em to commit sins

  • for the people who are saying women are forced to wear it, it’s obligated for women to wear the hijab and not obligated to wear the niqab or burka .. if women believe in Islam then they will do what it asks from them. .. if you don’t believe you should wear the hijab reconsider your hoover of being Muslim. … I wear a hijab and tbh I find it as a privilege that I as a Muslim proud women get to wear it

  • It is NOT oppressive to women, it’s oppressive to those who are forced to wear it. Look up what oppression means. It is NOT oppressive to me, because I embrace it, and though everyone around me would rather I not, doesn’t mean I’m oppressed, rather harassed because of my choice. Don’t start a sentence saying you’re muslim like that gives you right to explain islam with any proof of what you’re speaking.

  • The problem with the Burka is that no one can see their facial expressions, your fellow human being recognises the gestures in your facial expressions and this is a very human reaction with the person you encounter, Life is about our relationship s with our fellow beings, can you not see that wearing the full Burka is a denial of this basic human right.

  • Some ignorant people are calling me or others brothers and sisters as terrorists just because some people have proper understanding of our religion. However, the reality is that burkah/naqaab is not a choice but obligation upon muslim women unless there is a Islamic legal exception. I have explained through evidences else where. The way, keeping long beard is not a choice but fardh or obligation upon muslim men unless there is a sharai exception not to keep it. The haya is obligatory upon both muslim men and women as well. Meaning keeping eyes or gaze down when talking to non-mahram person. Or it is better not to talk to non-mahram person unless there is a sharai exception for it. So if a muslim woman does not have proper Islamic dress then she would be asked about it on day of judgment and if a muslim man does not keep long beard it would be asked from him as well. may Allaah give us proper awareness about our deen, ameen. and Allaah knows the best.

  • In the holy Bible it says in exodus 34//109 verse 14 “you must worship no other gods, for the LORD, whose very name is Jealous, is a god who is jealous about his relationship with you.” This means God LOVES YOU he does not want you sinning so big you will burn for all eternity because you decided to not choose him but you chose another “god” In romans 10//1339 verse 16 it talks about how people didn’t accept the message Isaiah the prophet told them about Christ it says “But not everyone welcomed the good news, for Isaiah the prophet said, “LORD, who has believed our message?” (Moves on to verse 17) So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the good news about Christ. (Verse 18) But I ask, have the people of Israel actually heard the message? yes they have: “The message has gone throughout the earth, And the words to all the world”* (Verse 19) But I ask, did the people of Israel really understand? Yes, they did, for even in the time of Moses, God said, “I will rouse your jealousy through people who are not even a nation.” ✝️✝️ Love god because he loves you✝️✝️

  • Ya Allah…she herself dnt know what a hijaab is…as she herself didn’t wear proper Islamic clothing…n explaining about Muslim coverings.. dnt insult religions.. saying it’s choice..wearing proper hijaab covering from top to bottom is the command of the creator not the choice of any human…but there is a way to explain females…Islamm doesn’t believe in force…neither to accept islaam nor to wear hijaab. It’s a long topic…if anyone is keen they should sincerely research about it. May Allah swt guide her as well. She is not comfortable explaining about abayas/coverings.

  • The burqa with the net covering the eyes is very rarely worn as a choice tho. If I’m not mistaken, it’s worn in very few jihadist countries where women face severe and violent punishment if they are seen without it. In some part of Afghanistan, they are not even allowed to wear shoes that make noise…I just yeah. Feel so sick about this very specific type of veil. I’m also confused about how I feel because my main problem with islamic veils is when the woman is forced to wear it. But then if we ban it… aren’t we also imposing our beliefs on a woman? Ugh. Everything is a mess.

  • Okay…. So lemme put it in a nutshell, the burqa (the whole body covering) those who choose to wear it believe that their beauty ain’t for everyone and it’s only for their husband so this way those women are not committing sins like haram(forbidden) relationships. (as her whole body’s covered no one would be able to check her out) I know this may sound literal STRICT to some ppl but I think it’s a choice. Which everyone should respect!

  • My impression is that in Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia somehow forgot to invite women into the decision on the “correct” interpretation. Let them wear what they want in Muslim countries – but don’t let them lie that it’s their voluntary choice. At least it’s not the rule – there are more advanced countries like Indonesia where women actually have that choice. Hopefully Arab countries will learn from them.

  • The trouble with the total face covering is that it precludes women from driving a car,she cannot be identified, therefore she could commit any offence and if she flee’s from the scene of the crime, she cannot be identified, also you cannot issue a driving licence to a woman who cannot show her face for I/D, also a man could pass himself of as a woman and get away with anything. It is just a backward custom. from a time when women had no rights to go out unaccompanied.

  • To those who didnt know, Women are really respected in Islam, thats why Islam ask women to cover themselves to protect. Its the same with ‘touching’ women shouldnt touch or shake hand with another man other than husband and family, its all to respect them. Islam ask women to cover themselves and Its a MUST but from what I’ve seen from Some muslims country, some women choose not to wear hijab,. For me hijab is a must and niqab and burqa is a choice. Islam ask women to cover themselves from head till toes except face and palm hands. For men from belly button till knee.

  • It seems to me that this reality show is all about Arab Muslims. What about the African-American(there is a lot of us) Muslim, the Latino, White, Indian, Pakastani, Malayasian? Second of all, all Muslimahs don’t dress like her or the 1st/2nd/3rd Model. In my community, you would see the traditional African garment with a gele’ or the shalwar kameez or the abaya-with bling.

  • In America or western European countries, it may be the woman’s choice to wear the burka, but in countries where Sharia law is strictly enforced, it is NOT a choice! That woman was being very disingenuous implying that it is the choice of the woman to wear something so oppressive! Even in America and the West, Muslim women are still subject to their husbands, fathers, and sons. We don’t know WHAT goes on behind closed doors with them! We DO know that even in the West, Muslim men are very much against Muslim women becoming “Westernized,” even to the point of “honor killings” here in America!

  • I don’t understand why north American or European people believe that what they eat, wear and do is the only right way of living when they see hundreds of different ethnicities and races are created by God who choose to have their own traditions cultures. Nobody question them why they wear what they do like why they have to wear jeans when there is no mention of jeans and shirt as an attire in bible for women!!!

  • A muslim women supposed to follow wives n daughters of prophet (saw). Like how men follow prophet (saw)in there attire. N mothers of belivers used to cover there faces. The idea is to cover all the parts which make them attracted to no mehram ( non relatives men ). But there have been scholars who have said covering the face is not mandatory like zakir naik. Its optional. I personally think covering face would be necessary if you have done makeup n made ur self attractive. Or its fine not to cover.

  • I am a hijabi and let me explain you something. Hijab is mandatory but there are different interpretations how it should look a like and that’s the part where a muslimah have a choice. Yes there Are some fundamental countries where the goverment and mentallity is forcing women to wear hijab in a certain way but their behaviour is not from religion, rather their mentallity. Islam does not teach to Look down on others and commands men to lower their gaze from looking at non rekated to them women, so we Can’t say that this ugly behaviour of them is purely islamic. I hope you get my point and see the difference Now

  • Most fashionable or in . You are supposed to be modest not fashionable. You are not supposed to wear makeup (vanity) with hijab (modesty). It is like a a vegan with leather shoes ( wrong ang hypocrite). But she is very right to say that many women wear veil voluntarily non as a religion act or to be modest, but as a political act to show they belong to the Islamic faith.

  • Hijab is identity for every Muslim woman it’s dress code for Muslim women Allah told us to wear hijab and hijab means to cover up it means don’t show your beauty and we should wear hijab proudly no matter where we are or who we with.We shouldn’t care what people say about our hijab we should only care as a Muslim woman what Allah told us to do so hijab is identity of Muslim woman and us a Muslim woman I’m proud and happy wearing full hijab. My Allah guide me and guide all the Muslim women’s

  • I can assure you, a woman in a burqa or Niqab fears Allah too much to be robbing any banks or shoplifting. You’re thinking with a Western mentality (which is fine because clearly you’re a Westerner), but Islam is against materialism, robbing and wrongfully gaining money i.e. gambling, robbing etc.. So it’s a little silly to think the women in these things are doing so. Furthermore, when they do to the bank, DMV etc.. they show their faces to women to validate their identity.

  • She is incomplete in her knowledge, thats made her to think so, as far the differences of culture and age group that differentiates the style to wear should not differ at large, as there is a criteria what a hijab should look like both for men and women and scholors can define it better rather than any amature

  • She has some different interpretations of Islam and Quran. Millions of women who’re wearing niqab or a burka are they stupid. It’s just a way of showing them a tailor-made Islam. Like a man saying I shave my beard as it’s not mandatory and I drink but I don’t do harm to others. Religion is one, if you follow it good for you and if you don’t then please don’t give justifications. I also don’t keep a thick beard but I know I’m wrong, I party and have a girlfriend and I know it’s not correct but I’m not justifying it, rather I accept my wrongdoing and hope it would help me become better someday because I know I’m wrong

  • I think Allah demands of us modesty, self respect, and respect for others. I dont want to see a mans naked chest…it gives me a sick feeling as if I am intruding on his privacy. I dont want my chest to be stared at like a piece of meat. I lower my gaze in respect for you and myself . I dont want to be flashy and offensive displaying my wealth. I believe it is important to see the essence of what Allah is trying to convey…

  • Let me get this straight. Its not a choice. It’s a command from their lord. Similarly a man cant wear Gold, silk, half pants, tight cloths which shows his body shape and certain body parts he has to cover. He doesn’t have a say in this matter. A muslim man cant say i dont wear Gold and its a choice. No its not a choice its a prohibition from Allah. When you say its a choice and even knowing that Allah prescribed certain dress code and forbade some then you are playing with his words. So stop sugercoating your religion for getting some sympathy from liberal world. Your choice doesn’t make anything better. Allah said it thats enough for us. And those who are at position of authority should force people to go by these dress codes.

  • İslam shouldn’t have different interpretations, if someone wears a burqa and the other only covers hear hair, this means the woman with only a normal hijab is doing wrong.. Or the woman with the burqa is wrong? There should be only one way. The way the quran describes it us. So humans shouldn’t make up things. But if you feel like covering your ‘whole existence’ just because you feel better, than do so, but don’t say this is how a woman should cover up according to İslam. We should differentiate between our own preferences and the teachings of Islam.

  • Let me explain after this confusing clip. Women in Islam cover because in our revelation God commanded us to cover, the believing women from nations before where Prophets came to them with revelation have also done so. #1 its a command from God so we hear and we obey. The wisdoms behind it, whether known or not is not important when it’s an order however the reasons known is that it protects the women’s modesty and honour. People respect her, she is respecting her body and it’s not there for anyone to look at. Men are protectors over women who make sure their mothers, sisters, daughters, wives are all safe from strange men and everyone is taken care of financially and day to day. It’s not oppressive, it’s actually very nice when I don’t have to carry my own shopping bags and worry about chasing my children around the park, hehe. At home we wear regular clothes but when going out or if any stranger man is around we cloak ourselves. If you look back at history this was norm in European nations too from veils to hats to cloaks to having long dresses. It just happens over time women shed more and more. Believing women in the time of Jesus peace be upon him also covered, just look at how Christians paint Mary peace be upon her. Or look to biblical movies. This isn’t a trend or culture, it is what we believe and ultimately this life is about putting in the work to be able to attain the eternal life in Paradise.

  • Wake up! And Verify!! There is no ladies’HIJAB in the Quran. The word HIJAB is used in the Quran but not for ladies. The word is KHIMAR in Quran24:31 (Meaning a scarf, a covering, can also be a neck scarf) The importance is about : ..EXTEND the Khimar over the JAYB… (Jayb just means opening, or some people translate it as chest/ bosoms) There is no head, hair or any such importance in the Quran, but the ‘deviant Sect’ (Firqa) promoted it – they took the sand storm desert clothing and called it religion. Most of it happened just in the last 100 years. — Along with the Loudspeakers on the mosque in some countries- which is NOT possible to be part of Islam as Loudspeaker was invented only within the last 100 years.

  • I think she’s not explaining it they way he wants to understand. May Allah give her more knowledge to give the correct dawah ameen. He’s asking her why is she wearing what she wearing but what’s the meaning behind the other garments and why do others females dress more modest then other females. In the Quran Surah 24 ayat 31- 24:31 it’s says 31. And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest, and to display of their adornment only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils over their bosoms, and not to reveal their adornment save to their own husbands or fathers or husbands’ fathers, or their sons or their husbands’ sons, or their brothers or their brothers’ sons or sisters’ sons, or their women, or their slaves, or male attendants who lack vigour, or children who know naught of women’s nakedness. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And turn unto Allah together, O believers, in order that ye may succeed.

  • -Before technology you needed many children to work on your land and grow food. -Before medicine half your children died and often the mother too. -Men of influence would then marry many women for many children, as many as they could afford. -This caused problems like rich getting richer and the poor guy meanwhile walks around with his brazil nuts in his hand. -Women would be on board with this arrangement too because in a world without law enforcement this guaranteed them security and shelter and food. -There was then this new system that said alright guys party’s over: each one of you can marry max four wives! -Good system with amazing rules most of which are no longer relevant in today’s world of medicine and technology. -This system serves today as an amazing cash cow for Al Saud who nets from it about $12 billion a year. -My Khaliq who made this observable universe 93 billion light years across does not want me to go circle a rock in what is today Saud’s Arabia. -I’m glad I was raised abstaining from alcohol gambling and unwanted children. The depression and fear of ‘hellfire’ though is a bit unnecessary.

  • She don’t know anything about Islam ..why do they have this ignorant woman trying to explain Hijab the scarf she wear is not hijab it’s a kimar( scarf) hijab is a covering head to toe with eight conditions. As an born into Christianity American multi racial black woman I can school lots of Muslims about a religion they are suppose to know especially being from Muslim countries but then again a lot of them are Muslim by association

  • Actually they being educate to wear burqa.Islam is Easy. You need to wear dress code that’s rational to your job scope you cannot wear a pant that’s lose as policeman cause you might fall. Your body after giving birth is easy to get fat so if you not wear a tight pants inside you might be fat.We only wear hijab at work or outdoor not at house to reduce man lust or eyes that’s can might go wrong to overthinking about women’s body to stop sexual harassment and zero cases of rape. In Islam siblings especially brothers or a mans in family is a protecter to their womens.A Hijab is to cover the Aurat and as respect for all women’s because all women’s Is a mom. Please respect all women’s like your mom .No sexual harassment to all teenagers stop perusal pornography. When you married please treat your wife like your moms please think wisely softly treat your wife because your mom is also a wife to your father if you treat her well means your father also treat your mom well. Everyone wellness is related to each others. Islam not make women’s as prisoners but Islam always protect women’s dignity.

  • I’ll give an example you put your money in a wallet because it’s valuable in the same way our bodies are valuable so we cover our bueaty to only show it to those whome deserve to see it like your husband you picked who got to see your bueaty I hope you understood I’m trying to translate what I mean Your body and bueaty are precious not just anyone should be able to freely stare at it,admire it,examine it,or lust for it thus the protection

  • You’re deceiving the audience about Islam teachings. You’re not following Islam teachings at all. Covering face and all body is actually mandatory. This saves women from men’s eyes. Why women become so cheap, because they allow everybody and anybody to see them. Women are valuable and respectful. They shouldn’t be available for people to look at them. If people respect you for your mind and soul, they shouldn’t be judging you from your choice to follow Islam teachings by covering your whole body and wearing loose clothes, not tight skinny jeans and scarf.

  • ok I’ll explain to u when u want your car to be protected what u do u cover it right? and this is what Islam wants Islam doesn’t want to oppress women or something else it just wants to make women seen by her power knowledge wisdom and capacities and not her beauty or having opportunities of work etc just because she’s sexy ok so burka doesn’t even exist in Islam and it’s just a part of some cultures who sounds to me a really abuse and oppression for women niqab is particular for our messenger Mohammed’s wifes and Quran days”o wifes of Mohammed you aren’t like other womens’ but Hijab is particular for all Muslim womens wearing Hijab with dresses large trousers ect u can wear what u want just as long as your body is not shaped and looking over sexy and lastly Islam doesn’t prevent you to look beautiful or pretty it does prevent u from looking sexy in the way that prevent strange man to feel sexual desires towards u and in that way you’ll be seen as an object and not as a human being full of knowledge

  • And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest, and to display of their adornment only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils over their bosoms, and not to reveal their adornment save to their own husbands or fathers or husbands’ fathers, or their sons or their husbands’ sons, or their brothers or their brothers’ sons or sisters’ sons, or their women, or their slaves, or male attendants who lack vigour, or children who know naught of women’s nakedness…con’t Quran24:31

  • Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The similitude of His light is as a niche wherein is a lamp. The lamp is in a glass. The glass is as it were a shining star. (This lamp is) kindled from a blessed tree, an olive neither of the East nor of the West, whose oil would almost glow forth (of itself) though no fire touched it. Light upon light. Allah guideth unto His light whom He will. And Allah setteth forth for mankind similitudes, for Allah is Knower of all things.

  • For people who want explanation behind hijab: Imagine if u have a lollipop one is covered the other isn’t, u put em on the ground which one will get ants on em first…. the uncovered one of-course. In Islam women are recommended to cover what’s attracted to men for their own protection. By giving man what he wants you aren’t achieving freedom (lack of clothing). By taking away skin from mans eyes (eye candy for his eyes), that’s when the women is in control, that’s when she is truly free, free of his deception, free from his judgement of her looks and so on. Hijab forces the man to fall in love with her personality, rather then her flesh. Hijab forces the man to ask for her hand after getting to know her soul not her body. If any of you don’t believe that this works, plz look up divorce rates in non Muslim populations vs Muslim populations. Btw read about Pre-Islamic Arabia…. that society made women into worse than animals by telling them to walk bare chest (breasts out), so any man who liked what he saw could buy her as a property… those people used to bury women alive cause it was frowned upon to not have a son… no inheritance. Then Islam came and gave rights to females, told the people that they deserve inheritance, the right to vote, from a property of man the women was given the honor of hijab. The roles got flipped. Now man doesn’t see what he wants rather what SHE chooses to show him. That my friends is true freedom. Think about this without any bias. May Allah give you all wisdom behind the beauty that is Islam.

  • See absolutely wrong as a Muslim women burkha and third one is right there is not choice becouse according to Quran a non mehram man cannot see any women except her mother, wife, sister, douter that mean that all body part of women including her eyes nose hand should where a man can see ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

  • Wow, I’m muslim and let me tell you this woman in the white headscarf is not dressed like a real muslim woman. We’re not supposed to wear pants, and her whole body is outlined. Subhan’Allah I think if you’re going to be a muslim and wear hijab goooo all the way with it, or don’t wear it. The idea of trying so hard to keep one foot in secular culture and the other in Islam in dress is totally flawed. Allah knows!

  • No niqab for me ! I love my spaghetti lol how to eat spaghetti wearing that thing omg ! It’s like a punishment or something .Why would your god allah punish you like that ? Our God gave His son Jesus to die for our sin so we could have salvation and freedom from everything so we could enjoy our lives and be happy sharing the love of God to other people treat other people the way we treat ourselves love love love mercy and compassion .Faith is not by wearing a piece of cloth .Faith is doing good being thankful to God being a good example to humanity ! The purpose of man is to worship God not by what we wear but by what we do ! I
