Some popular brands include Dominique Noemi Strapless Backless Bra, Gatherall Bra, Brassybra 3 Sets Adhesive Bra, and Boody Ribbed Low Back Bra Lyolyte™.
Sleek, hook-free bras like the Sloggi range offer an almost-wearing-nothing feel, while the S by Sloggi Silhouette Bra top and Sloggi Zero Feel Bra are lightweight options that work well with backless dresses. The Boody Ribbed Low Back Bra Lyolyte™ is a sustainable backless bra that offers full coverage, but may not be suitable for open-back dresses with higher necklines.
Strapless bras have become popular due to their ability to support the unique crisscrossing or open back details of the dress without being obscured by traditional bra straps. They can be cut into a V-shaped wedge and sew into the back of the dress at the desired height for desired coverage. Racerback bras are a reliable and stylish choice to pair with halter tops, leaving you feeling supported and fabulous.
Plunging ‘u-shaped’ or open front bras can help facilitate a deep v-neck look. New’stick-on’ bra cups, often made from shaped silicone, offer support, shape, and coverage underneath your dress. Strapless and backless adhesive bras that connect in the middle work especially well to provide coverage and a little lift when a band is not available.
In summary, there are many great backless, strapless, and stick-on bras available for wearing with backless dresses and low necklines.

The Natural Lace-Up Adhesive Bra is our favorite budget-friendly backless bra. It’s under $30. Gatherall’s Bra was our top-performing backless bra, with a near-perfect score. We wore it for up to 12 hours at a time and it was comfortable and covered well. It looked great under backless tops and dresses. From the front, it looked like a regular bra. It had proper areola coverage, but also nipple covers for flexibility. This bra sticks well. It stayed secure throughout the day, even when we were sweaty, and kept working after multiple washes. The sticky layer was easy to take on and off, and it didn’t leave residue. When we were ready to store it, we put the wrap back on and rolled it up in the canister. The cups don’t have extra padding, but the silicone is thick enough to provide support and thin enough to be comfortable. On warmer days, there was a little moisture buildup and some fibers from a denim dress stuck to the adhesive, but these were minor compared to the overall performance. The Gatherall Bra was almost unused at the end of the test and still looked and felt the same. It’s easy to wash and wear, and it’s comfortable even in warmer climates.

Use a paper clip to turn a bra into a racerback or to hide straps from sleeveless tops.

Silicone bra. Wear this with a backless dress. It’s just two sticky silicone pieces that act as a bra. Wear them a few times, wash and air dry, and buy new ones when they don’t stick well. These aren’t my favorites, but they work!
Body tape. Body tape is a great solution for any garment. They hold everything in place and lift. The only downside is they sometimes come off. I give them an 8 out of 10. I’ve used duct tape before, but that hurts worse. Backless strapless underwire bra. Great for big breasts or anyone who feels naked without an underwire. These work great with plunging and backless options, but be careful because the clear side straps show in the back.
How do you cover your nipples in a backless dress?
Try bandages or medical tape for a quick fix. If you find yourself in a position where your nipples are showing while youre out and about, some common items can save the day. Medical tape or silicone tape is just the right thickness to provide coverage, and bandages work well, too. Cross the tape or bandages over your nipples in an X shape for the best coverage.
Take a shower to weaken the adhesive on tape or bandages so they slip off much easier.;
Spread a cotton ball over your nipple and tape it into place.1 If you dont have a cotton ball handy, cut a panty liner into small circles and place those directly over your nipples.
Spread the cotton ball evenly so it doesnt create a protrusion of its own.;
How do you cover an open back on a dress?
For a quick and easy cover-up, drape a wrap, shawl, or stole around your shoulders. If you’re more concerned about covering your lower back, wrap the shawl around your forearms and let it droop down behind you. A wide pashmina scarf or shawl looks good with most dresses. Shawls and scarves look good with anything from a cocktail dress to a casual maxi dress. A capelet is basically a small cape. It can hug your shoulders or drape loosely. Add glamour with this option. For example: On a cool evening, wear a faux fur capelet for a striking look, or a knitted capelet for a more casual look. A capelet won’t keep you warm in really cold weather. If you don’t want to hide your back and shoulders, but want more coverage, choose a sheer or lacy capelet. A capelet that flares slightly looks great with a slinky, hip-hugging dress.
Do people wear bras with backless dresses?
For a low-back or backless dress, try… A sticky bra. Strapless and backless adhesive bras work well to provide coverage and lift when you can’t have a band in the back. These bras for backless dresses can be full coverage, especially if they have adhesive side wings. They work best if the open-back dress has a high neckline and doesn’t show a lot of side boob. If you like cleavage and your dress has a low neckline, go with a lace-up version. You can adjust the drawstring to push the cups together. For a sleeveless or racerback dress, try… Bra converters, racerback, or T-back bra. If the dress has enough material on the back, a racerback or T-back bra is the perfect fix. No bra? You don’t need a new bra to wear a sleeveless dress. Converters help your bra straps stay together in the back, and give you a little extra lift and cleavage. For a plunging neckline dress, try… A plunge bra or boob tape. Plunge bras are perfect for low-cut dresses. Even low necklines can’t compete with bras like these that have a deep U shape between the cups. And if all else fails, there’s always boob tape. This thick tape lets you customize your bra however you want. It’s perfect for maintaining lift in low-cut dresses that cover your shoulders, and it even works on larger chests. Test it out before you go out. Put a piece of tissue between the tape and your nipples to protect them.
