Weddings are significant events in societies worldwide, and it is essential to consider dress codes when attending a wedding. Men should wear a well-tailored suit in a mid-to-dark neutral color like gray, blue, or charcoal. For evening weddings, more formal styles, longer dresses, and gowns are appropriate. Grooms and groomsmen should spend time in the makeup chair, with foundation and light hair zhuzhing going a long way in photos.
For formal or black tie wedding attire, choose a classic tuxedo with attention to details, like a crisp white shirt and polished shoes. White-tie attire is the most formal, and women should wear a formal dress. Before choosing any ultra-light color, test it first to avoid appearing white in the sun or under bright light of a camera.
For western outfits with Indian accessories, consider maximalist, full-length pieces from brands such as Jacquemus, Nadine Merabi, Needle & Thread, and others. Consider appropriate colors and dress modestly, covering up certain parts of your body. Muslim weddings require covering up certain parts of your body, and shorts, short dresses, and short skirts are considered inappropriate.
For formal weddings, dark suits, such as black, charcoal grey, or navy blue, are most appropriate. Wear a bow tie, black tuxedo, and white tux shirt. Bright colors are riskier, as are neckties. If you opt not to tux up (price is usually a factor), stick to the most formal suit in a dark color.
For semi-formal and casual weddings, lighter suits and more relaxed outfits can be an excellent option. Olive or sage green is another contender, and a tan or khaki suit in linen or cotton is also an excellent option.
