The Last Kingdom is a historical drama series that follows the story of Uhtred, the son of Gisela and Uhtred, who had three children: Uhtred, Stiorra, and Osbert. Brida of Dunholm is a main character and later an antagonist in both The Saxon Stories novel series and The Last Kingdom television series. She became the Lady of Dunholm on Ragnar’s murder in 902, commanding her own contingent of warriors which fought at the Battle of Tettenhall in 910. To draw Uhtred towards her, she targets his closest family, including his son Young Uhtred (Finn Elliot).
In season 5, Uhtred’s friend Brida (Emily Cox) becomes the new big bad, and she is expected to play an even bigger role in the final outing. Both Oswald and Stiorra featured prominently in season 5. Oswald, a priest, was castrated by Brida early in the season as revenge against Uhtred. After the war is called off, Brida attacks Uhtred, but he refuses to kill Brida or her child.
The final season of The Last Kingdom is set to end, and Uhtred must reclaim his ancestral home of Bebbanburg. The series finale pits Uhtred against Brida, who is set to be a formidable enemy to him.

I truly believe that if their baby had lived, maybe Uhtred and Mildrith might have learned to be cordial to one another for his sake. Not love each other again, but separated or together they would have found and equilibrium. Without their baby dead however, Mildrith had no reason to speak to Uhtred again and it was the last time they spoke. Such a painful moment.
