Elvis Presley and Priscilla Ann Beaulieu had one of the most famous celebrity weddings of the 1960s. Elvis proposed to Priscilla with a 3.5-carat diamond ring, surrounded by a halo of 20 smaller, detachable diamonds. The ring was custom-made for Elvis by Memphis jeweler Harry Levitch. Priscilla’s wedding ring is an exquisite piece of jewelry, featuring a three and a half-carat diamond surrounded by a detachable row of smaller diamonds set in platinum.
Priscilla still has her wedding and engagement rings from Elvis and treasures them. The 3.5-carat diamond at its center, along with the 20 detachable diamonds, made it a truly stunning and valuable ring. Elvis’s favorite song to perform was “Don’t Be Cruel,” which was a big hit for Presley and a favorite of his to perform.
Priscilla Presley was the legendary Elvis Presley’s queen because he was regarded as “the King” of the music industry. The couple led a lifestyle that most people can only imagine and were the epitome of royalty in the music industry. Elvis’s engagement ring featured a 3.5-carat diamond encircled by a halo of 20 smaller “detachable” diamonds.
Priscilla Presley’s wedding day style was described as having about eight people living in her hair. Many brides during this time were known for their unique style and horseshoe design.

How big is Meghan’s engagement ring?
The center stone is a 3-carat cushion-cut diamond. It was sourced from Botswana, where the couple spent time building their relationship. Cushion cut diamonds offer lots of choice when it comes to the look you want in your diamond. Modern cushions are cut in two ways: standard and modified. The standard cut has a vintage look with wider facets and more rounded sides. This cut is rare and hard to find. The modified cut has more facets and a splintery look. The sides are less rounded, so it looks square or rectangular. Cushion cut diamonds show more color than most other shapes. If you’re thinking of platinum or white gold, we recommend a color grade of G or better. If you choose rose or yellow gold, the warmth of the metal will complement a diamond of a lower color grade. The modified cushion cut is a brilliant faceted cut, so inclusions are less noticeable. The length-to-width ratio of your cushion cut diamond affects how it looks. A more square ratio is the favorite for a cushion cut, like Meghan Markle’s center stone for her engagement ring. For a square appearance, look for ratios between 1.00 and 1.05. Traditional cushions are often closer to a 1.10 ratio, while rarer cushion cuts are closer to 1.20 to 1.30 for an elongated rectangular shape.

It had a pearl-embellished neckline and sleeves, plus a long sheer veil attached to a pillbox cap. Timeless and elegant for the era.

What happened to Elvis Presley’s jewelry?
After years of searching for the “lost” collection, Kruse learned of a financial dispute that had kept the items out of the public eye for nearly five decades. One of the auction houses’ clients bought the items. “It was a collection we’d all heard about,” she added. “It was a myth until we found it.” The jewels will be auctioned with other Elvis memorabilia from Parker’s collection, including items from his Las Vegas comeback. 📹 Priscilla Presley Breaks Down 15 Looks From 1960 to Now | Life in Looks | Vogue
The iconic Priscilla Presley shares the secret to her 1960s bouffants and how she managed to buy her dress incognito when she …
it’s profoundly heart—wrenching to hear this beautiful woman speak. one can just tell that she was groomed by the manner in which she discusses her early outfits and pictures, with a rare focus on herself but predominantly centered around ‘what elvis liked’ and ‘what elvis wanted.’ even reading her book deeply broke my heart.
Priscilla Presley was a discovery for me this year. I used to know very little about her. This year I watched the movie Priscilla, and I liked the vibe so much that I wanted to learn more about her. I am impressed. How well-mannered she is, how respectful she is about Elvis, how smart, beautiful and sophisticated she is. What a passing era. There are almost no women like her now. Thanks for this article Vogue.
This was so kind of Priscilla to take the time and care in explaining all of these pictures to the fans. I enjoyed each one and learned a lot. Am almost a lifetime Elvis fan, born in 1956 and raised on his records, which my mama was always playing. Saw him in person four times. Love how Priscilla honored him and carried on his legacy for future generations. She is both graceful and gracious. Appreciate the care his family takes of his legacy, especially Graceland.
I love listening to Priscilla talk about her experiences and her cherished mrm of her private life with Elvis. She could easily hold her memories private for fans to wonder about. She doesn’t owe the public any of that. She chooses to let us have a glimpse into her private life and I’m thankful that she does.
I met her several years back when I assisted her in a store I worked in. I did not have any idea who she was until after our interaction when a co-worker informed me. Just thought she was a super nice lady who was crazy about her bulldogs! Honestly it’s hard to believe how down to earth and personable she actually is considering what a life she’s had.
I‘ve seen the ELVIS movie and loved it but now I wanna see Priscilla‘s point of view and story. I lover her personality and how soft spoken she is. I think she has that „gentle strength” on her that doesn’t destroy what is holding her back but make her opponents respect her and willingly letting her go. She‘s wonderful.
I love how this is mainly about her. In so many of her interviews she’s only asked about Elvis and their relationship. Not that it’s a bad thing, I’m sure she loves talking about him after all she loved him very much and still does but I’m sure it must’ve been nice for her to talk about herself, her taste, you know very personal . Beautiful humble woman ♥️can’t believe she’s 77 ✨
That was fun and informative. Thank-you Priscilla. I am glad that the movie Elvis was successful and liked by the family. I could identify with the part about how people used to get dressed up for everything like going to the airport, flying on a plane, and going to the movies or out on a date in general. Now people wear sweatpants to church.
I wish my Mom was still alive to watch this..she graduated in 1955 and I grew up in the 60’s and ‘70’s listening to all of Elvis’s songs. She absolutely loved Priscilla too. She said she could hardly wait to get to heaven to go to his concerts again!! My Mom, before she died, was able to tour Graceland. What a gift. Thanks Vogue and thanks, especially, to Priscilla.
There is something about her that I really like. She seems very genuine. And her commentary was so good. Elvis definitely isn’t someone still in the midst of pop culture today but Im so glad they made this film. I learned so much and it was so captivating. If you haven’t seen it on the big screen, please do. I’m going to see it twice.
Her repeatedly mentioning how insistent he was that they always dress up, even though she says she likes it, makes me kinda sad. It reminds me of how my grandpa was with my grandma. He NEVER ONCE saw her without makeup on and was very strict about her appearance. The fear was sort of passed onto my mom, and I’ve only seen her without makeup on a handful of times. My sister and I are also overly self conscious and fearful about leaving the house without makeup on. He’s dead now and she talks about how much she hated it all the time. She repeats stories a lot (lol) and whenever she describes how she used to get ready for bed and wake up, it reminds me of that scene in Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Not being able to just be relaxed and human without having to put on a show sounds exhausting and kinda distant, definitely not intimate enough for how I would personally want to be with a life partner, like someone I would expect to be able to be 100% bare and vulnerable with. Not being able to just exist as is and be comfortable in my own house sounds like a cage.
She dressed up older than her age because the relationship was a grooming relationship. U can see her morph into an adult before she was even an adult. She said in a previous interview how Elvis wanted her to dress up and she would get his approval. She’s still a young soul. U can hear it in her voice.
As a kid when “love me tender”came out, I followed Elvis’s career like most everyone. When he met you Priscilla it was so intriguing. So nice to see what a lovely soft spoken woman you are. Our times were so different and “dressing up” was fabulous. Remembering the clothes you wore for certain times really embellishes those memories. Thanks for a cruise down memory lane.
The first biography I ever read was about Priscilla. I couldn’t have been older than 9 which would make it around 1989/1990. I was never an Elvis fan just a Priscilla fan. She was very cutting edge with her looks and sense of style and I don’t know I always found her beauty to be unique and stunning. She also seems like a very kind and genuine individual.
I’ve always loved Pricilla! When I was a bit younger and had darker hair, so many people would tell me I looked like or reminded them of her, that and I have “Liz Taylor eyes” So many people disliked her because she left Elvis but came back into the woodwork when he died taking back his last name! I think she was definitely groomed, and her youth was nothing like it probably was for all of us! She definitely loved and adored Elvis. It’s absolutely amazing listening to her and her stories
Priscilla is a lovely lady, and I emphasize lady in every way. The way she speaks, and all her looks through the years. Some were extreme like the big hair but that was all the style back then. I especially thought she looked gorgeous when she sat with Barbara Walters during an interview. She certainly was a great business woman when it came to Graceland as well.
Priscilla looks great!!! She had a terrible experience with a bad cosmetic surgeon who used industrial fillers and distorted the purportions of her face. It looks like she got that resolved beautifully. So glad to see her and her gorgeous portraits. She was just as beautiful as Elvis. They had so much chemistry.Keep on Rockin mama blessings to her and her daughter.
Mrs. Presley has all the beautiful class that most First Ladies should exhibit. Her chose of words, her poise. She understood the sacrifices and understood what it took to be able to bring her family together and survive. In a World where she pretty much had to fend for herself and her child. God bless her always
Love her! Forever the queen and fashion style glamour Gemini goddess / supermodel of Graceland. Has such a magical mesmerizing voice and love how she tells these stories. Do not have a fave iconic legendary look of hers or of Elvis. And co owned her own successful boutique in the 70’s, can she be any more multitalented creatively and cooler. This is one of my fave Vogue Life in Looks. 👑⚜️💎🏆😍😘🥰
I saw the movie yesterday and I’m getting these articles in my recommendations. I have never been so inspired by 2 individuals, Elvis and Priscilla. 2 strong people with an amazing heart. Priscilla is such a strong and lovely woman, the things she did and still does are spectacular. Thank you for sharing this with us! <3
Erratum: The Presley women Vogue cover was August 2004. I know because I bought it when I was 17 and it remains my favorite issue of all time. I still have it until now. Priscilla Presley is one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen. Also in the same issue in The Age Issue we’re Daria Werbowy in her 20s, Nadja Auermann in her 30s, Patti Hansen in her 40s. Marisa Berenson in her 50s, I forgot who was in her 60s. OMG.
It amazes me how positively she speaks about the past after all he put her through with grooming her at 14, cheating on her over and over during their marriage, and refusing to be intimate with her after their child was born. What a horrible man, but Im glad she never allowed him to crush her spirits.
I think I could watch this again, yes again. Her over all demeanor pulls you into watch and take part in what she is sharing. She is an amazing person building an empire that has grown and is still growing. I love her voice and quietness about her yet strong foundation of rock she has made for herself and family.
I love Priscilla Presley so much, she is such a class act,and such a strong woman, l really look up to her,l feel like she is the Rock of the Presley family, because there have been heartache in the family in recent years with loosing her precious grandson Benjamin!,also l love her style of clothing, l would love one day to meet Priscilla in person!
She doesn’t get the recognition and respect she deserves. Her outfits were iconic and she is timeless. I never understand why people look up to say Kris Jenner for example. Full of gossip and money hungry. Priscilla is everything she isn’t. Classy, unique, confident, as well as radiant. You can see why Elvis chose her.
People are like “she was groomed, she was groomed blablabla” no matter what, Pricilla loved Elvis and to this day she treats him with respect and continue to love him. This is an example of a relationship that wasn’t forced, it was love at first sight. And elvis clearly loved her too but the problem was he didn’t love himself enough 😢 That TBC story is awesome
