The Bible teaches that sex before marriage is immoral, as it often involves a partnership with an unbeliever, which goes against God’s desire for believers to be committed. There are two types of illicit sex: adultery and fornication. Living together before marriage is considered a form of sexual immorality, and it is important for Christians to avoid such relationships.
Marriage is the legally or formally recognized union of two people as partners, and it is a covenant relationship. If you choose to marry, it is no longer up for sex outside of marriage. God can forgive those who have sex outside of marriage if they repent of their sin and turn to Jesus for salvation and forgiveness. Ephesians 4:2-3 encourages humility, gentleness, and patience in relationships before marriage.
The Bible also emphasizes the importance of living together and being sexually involved before marriage. Paul warns believers to flee from sexual immorality and honor God with their bodies. Christians are called to honor God’s design for sex and marriage even in dating.
The Bible does not explicitly say that two people in a romantic relationship cannot live together before getting married. Marriage is to reflect a legally, publically, declared faithful, covenant relationship, reflecting God’s covenant relationship with his people. Premarital sex is wrong, but God recognizes covenants and honors marriage relationships.
In Biblical times, marriages were arranged by parents, but the Bible has some principles that would guide couples in their relationships.

What does the Bible say about sleeping together before marriage?
To understand the Bible, we must know when it was written and how it applies to today. The Bible says a lot about sex before marriage. Most of it comes from 1 Corinthians, written by Paul.
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 says, “Don’t have sex outside of marriage.” Other sins are outside the body, but sexual sin is against the body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit? You don’t belong to yourself. You were bought with a price. “Glory in your body.” This verse means God controls our bodies. This verse also shows that women should submit to men.

Is it a sin to be in a relationship before marriage?
The New Testament keeps the same sexual rules as the Old Testament. Joseph wanted to break off his betrothal to Mary, who was pregnant. Joseph thought Mary had done something wrong, and the whole community would disapprove of her behavior (Matt. 1:19). The Bible says Mary was a virgin (Matt. 1:20; Luke 1:34). The logic of 1 Corinthians 7—that it is better to marry than to burn with passion—only works if sexual activity belongs in marriage. Sexual intimacy should only be between a man and a woman who are married (1 Cor. 7:36–38). Any other context for sex is sin. This means that sex before marriage is wrong. Fornication is sin. Fornication is wrong, but why? The Bible doesn’t say much about sex before marriage. The number of verses discussing a topic doesn’t tell us how important or serious it is. The Bible says that people knew fornication was wrong, so there wasn’t much to say about it. The Bible says premarital sex is wrong because it is against God’s plan for sex. Fornication is a sin because it goes against the nature of sex, marriage, and the family. Marriage is a bond between a man and a woman (Mal. 2:14) A covenant bond sealed by sexual intimacy. In his book Marriage as Covenant, Gordon Hugenberger says that in the Old Testament, marriage was usually made by swearing an oath and then having sex. The two elements were meant to go together, with the promise before the ratification. Hugenberger says that because sex is a private but binding oath, the public verba solemnia were the right choice because they show that a marriage is being solemnized. Couples who have sex before marriage are making a public promise. Without the latter, the former is an attempt to enjoy the benefits of the covenant without entering into it.

Rejection hurts, but looking back on all the rejections I went through I really see that it was God’s grace for my life, and I am thankful for them. Because I am praying that the man I start dating is going to be my husband. I still haven’t ever dated or had a boyfriend even though I am in my 30s. But God knows that my heart is fragile and that it’s better for me to have a rejection than breaking up from dating someone. All this rejection experience has really made me stronger and wiser
This is for the message of the three ways God approves of a relationship. If it’s not for you trust me. God will let you know. If that’s the case at least try to win that soul for the lord. Also when your dating you pray to God about what your seeing and your concerns so God would guide you through them clearly. Like that you can avoid for farther disappointments.God bless you.📙📙📙

Earlier today and yesterday I was worrying that my girlfriend and I’s relationship was slowly falling apart. It wasn’t but to me it felt like it so I kept praying asking if there’s anything he can do to help in case. Later today I ended up feeling better about the relationship and things seemed so much better. I’m not sure if it was God or not but I’m still thanking Him 💖
This is so true on what this article is about because when I was trying to get into a relationship, I was actually going astray and really moving away from God rather than closer. Remember its ok to let the person go if he/she isn’t drawing you close to God. If they are leading you further away from God or you are leading yourself further from God because of the current romantic emotions you are going through, then its good to cut the relationship or give space. But by any chance you are able to lead them to Christ, they might have more fire on God than you do, which is what you want. In a relationship you both need to be guiding each other towards righteousness and glorifying God. But if you aren’t and instead more on your flesh then its better to avoid it.
I was in a relationship several years ago and I knew God didn’t want me to be continue in it. Not only was His Spirit ministering to me but it was evident among the fellow believers in my church, those who love Jesus felt that the relationship was not of God. Granted we aren’t to take stands on what other people feel but if I’m pursuing a Godly relationship, I believe also the saints who I’m fellowshipping with will also have a peace about it. It’s most likely the gift of discernment in them seeing the fruits of the Spirit in that person or the lack there of.
Hi Mark thank you for this article! I’ve been talking to this guy for awhile and we have a really great connection but I don’t feel like I’m ministering or encouraging my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ! After much prayer and thinking over the general situation he and I talked and I told him I would prefer to be friends. After telling him how I feel, I feel like my old self again-encouraging my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ and shining my light.
Thanks for this timely message. Just saw this suggested. I know God led me to see this article. 😇 Never been in a relationship, yet busy with the work and calling God had appointed us to do for His Kingdom. Am happy and enjoying my single season. 😊🤍 Until then God will make it happen. (Isaiah 60:22). ❤️ Ps: Patience is Virtue while busy doing what God wants us to embrace as we awaits on that Glorious Day the Lord Jesus Christ comes again! ❤️😇 Shalom brothers and sisters in Christ there! ❤️ 🤍 —Blessed beyond measure, Philippines 🇵🇭
Loved what you said: first take all Christian principles generally and through the discernment of the Holy Spirit apply them specifically: that’s such a powerful way to put it. For instance we’re not meant to be unequally yoked and then to apply that specifically it’ll mean for instance that you shouldn’t be with someone that doesn’t support the calling of God on your life even if they are a Christian as that’s an unequal yoke: thanks for sharing! 🔥
Thanks for the helpful articles. Can you make a article about your thoughts on large age gaps between Christians? While the most logical conclusion would be to advise someone that they should date someone around the same age as them, what if you are older but have never had a relationship before and have barely even started out in life in terms of your career or how settled you are or what you’ve even achieved? While you may be spiritually and emotionally mature, in other areas you could be far behind someone of the same age such that they might regard you as incompatible as you’d be at different stages of your life. Even with someone slightly younger, they too could be much more advanced in many areas (work, living situation, experiences, previous relationships etc) and still regard you as too far behind them. But if someone of the same age or slightly younger would be effectively much older or more developed than you, then is it better to be with someone significantly younger who is at a similar level or stage of life? But then they may not want someone significantly older, which means then that no-one might be suitable for you. What would you advise? I’d be interested to watch a article on this topic. Thanks.
Thank you for this message Mark. I am in a season of dating and meeting great guys right now, but I am undecided. In the past before I was allowing God to guide I would continue relationships that God had clearly told me were no longer serving me. I am getting to know a few people and was concerned if this was actually a Christian way of dating
Thank you so much for your amazing and consistent content! I was wondering if you’ve made a article on the stage of dating before commitment. And if you have advice for women who are in this stage. The guy I’m seeing and I are both Christians and I’m praying for God to lead us. I would like to have that talk about exclusivity and commitment but without scaring this great guy away. Could you make a article on that please? Please!:)
I want to add something to this very clear thoughtful article… If you are not sure 3:50 if they are right for you….. maybe keep dating, but I see too many trying to make it work, they want it to work, and their partner is doing pulling in, and pushing away too much please leave that relationship. I am so blessed to have found my partner and he is so wonderful. But trying to making it work, when something feels off…. dear ones… please let them go. If they are truly right for you they will correct their behaviors or seek help too.
God is always telling us what is good for our lives, I thank you Man of God, I Pray for us as Christian for Christ to give us strength not to sin against God in our relationships, but to abstain until we get married with our partners. I also Pray that God gives us the intended partners. For our brothers and sisters who are married, may God strengthen their relationships and give them ability to be partners for life and to overcome challenges in their marriages.
i felt like god was trying to say to me that my relationship with this particular person is wrong, and because we both sometimes sin,it always comes up to my mind that it is wrong, but now that we are about to break up, I don’t see the signs thay god is trying to break us up, it’s actually quite the opposite, it’s showing me the benefits of my relationship with this particular person, now I don’t know if god is saying thay he changed his mind or something, I don’t really think god is like that, changing your mind because god is god, he’s all knowing so no one can’t outhink him,but i also think that what you said might be right,it could be that god just showed me the lessons i need to learn in my relationship with that particular person, please help me out guys,i already prayed about this, please pray for me guys,i trust and hope to get an answer from god himself tomorrow
Three years ago I met a guy that I got to know online in a group prayer. It felt so natural. It felt like being home. I felt I heard God’s voice about him. I felt really in love with him but he chose someone else. I reached out to him at that time to start to get to know him, but He pushed me away and he put boundaries with me. He was so rude.I just got the news that he got engaged with her. It hurts so much, but I want him to be happy. 😭😭😭His happiness is above mine even if sometimes I dreamed maybe he would love me. He broke my heart into pieces. Sometimes I had a little bit of hope. Now, everything is dead. What I can do!
In your last point about “personal wishes,” you said that the scripture passage you quoted, (1 Cor. 7: 36-37) is talking to betrothed couples. We would agree but we also see little comparison between a betrothed couple deciding to consummate their covenant that’s already made before God’s and a dating couple saying “we want to get married.” The dating couple can not claim “it’s something God wants” if they have not clarified that with God. They may want to marry but God may have a different person he wants them to wait for.
I believe you are a man of God Mark and are called to this ministry but I disagree with your #2 point. You should be praying NOW, while you’re NOT dating for God to reveal and present the “one.” He will not lead you into a relationship that is not going to be Wholesome. This would be a temptation and God cannot do this. I beleive if your praying now, you will lay the groundwork for the Holy Spirit to direct-in-your-path a woman/man of God. If you are in fact in a bad relationship and sin is visible, you need to flee as fast as you can away from that person. If you continue in it it will not be good for you and very well may pull you out of your fellowship with God. Here are my 3 points God approves of a relationship… 1) is there evident signs of fruit. Mathew 17: 15-20. Fruit of the Spirit will be visible. No fruit no root. If there is no visible signs of fruit. End relationship immediately. 2) Continue praying even if fruit is visible for affirmation from the Holy Spirit. Continue seeking the fruit. It should continue to manifest even more. And pray throughout the relationship. God will speak. HE WILL NOT PICK YOUR MATE FOR YOU!!! This is the biggest lie in dating relationships and marriage advice. It is demonic. If this is or was the case, you then could blame a bad relationship on Him. Furthermore, if sexual sin is involved, He caused it by picking the “one” Totally unbiblical and damaging advice. Rather, God will say “This one?” and you may choose. He will never go against your will and FORCE you to do something against your will.
This is good. I like it but as i was listening to the last point the thought of “arranged marriages” came to mind for biblical marriages. So I’m confused about the desire part. I know the way our American culture does marriage is not the same as how it was back in biblical times so I’m lost on the 3rd point. But its okay i just have decided to believe that if its meant for me to marry God will give me that revelation and it will happen in His perfect timing. I think this info is good however and is a gauge for the future if i ever find myself in a temporary season of not having received the revelation. Maybe perhaps (shrug) lol. Thanks Mark always love your articles/messages!
When someone u know tries to motivate u …bring happiness to ur face….u see him as an aspiration n inspiration….someone who secretly care n to some extent love u …maybe..don’t know yet😪…is it right to think about that person …..who seem to capture ur mind in one way or the other…still confuse…😔
I will share one interesting dream with everyone. I heard this in my dream man talkin but it was like the perfect voice, it sounded like the exact way of voice should sound because when I heard it I said that’s how everyone should sound, but in the dream it also sounded like moving water and there was a message in it that spoke and I know exactly what was meant by it but I will tell you what was said which won’t mean much to anyone here, the voice in a dream said “has thy sight ruined thine vision?” It was referring to something that I wanted vs. something that I was doing. Was really interesting I never forgot it. Now I don’t know exactly what it is I’m not 100% sold on it but it was really unusual and it was related to something that was going on at that time for me.
I have a friend girl, and she’s amazing. We known each other for over 3 days now. Sure, we just met but she’s just amazing. We love each other a lot and appreciate each other so much. We’re like extremely close friends. We want to be in a relationship and get married but we’re waiting for God to tell us when the time is right if he does. I’m not sure if we just try being in a relationship now or wait and see if God tells us to be together. What should we do?
Before you even think about dating please learn about narcissism! A narcissist can appear as everything you are looking for and even as a Godsent, but as soon as you are trapped, they will slowly reveal their true nature. And since divorce is out of the question in a Christian relationship, you will be stuck in misery for a lifetime!
I’m in a long distance relationship but I told my parents that he asked me out and they sigh and then said that I shouldn’t put myself into things but is like I’m not fully christian but learning and him tried to but … We cried all night evening that we have to just be friends till maybe he can come physically so we can try differently but I’m scared that things are still parent or family No and I don’t wanna let him alone but it’s all hard to understand God’s will still I just cry In my corner praying and we really wanna be together and it’s painful to have ppl not at least support a bit like oh we can pray and see what God wants no for me it’s no for this no for that idk why I’m even born at this point I feel like I’m just meant in their head to be alone forever 😢😭
Just before this article I saw a article on God wants you to get back with your ex. my ex does not want me to contact her. so im respecting that wish. he said no with my ex several times before we actually connected on some sort of level at that time i was lost completely, not well founded in faith. she was a non believer but of Jewish faith and is an athiest. i tried explaining that to him but he still said no. So I moved on finally. Then i saw the article god wants you to get back with your ex (not from agw) while im in the process of seeing someone else who is Christian and our relationship is biblical, just bad with communication skills. But im patient. AGW has helped me grow more with the lord. I’m just confused as all of these thoughts have happened within a short amount of time and trying to make sense of it.
Man i really love this girl in my youth group at church. I guess its obvious that everyone knows we like each other. And ive been getting involed with the church in every way and im worn out. She more into god than i am. And she cant go out on dates alone with me. She lives with pastors. And not her mom. And its not her real parents. Shes 21. And im 24. I dont know how long to keep this up. We are both the oldest of the youth so we did our leadership classes. I dont wanna get shut down or friend/brother ZONED. When can i ask her out offically. How can i ask her out if they dont let her out. What do i say to ask her out. How to ssy it. Its nerve recking. I prayed for so long but i think shes a afraidy cat too. Were perfect for each other. I dont wanna lose her.
Hi mark ur articles are helpful I’ve been perusal them for awhile now can I ask you something if it’s Gods will for two ppl to marry and they are friends and both of us are believers saved we both love God his actions back it up we go to church at same place we both write and sing music how long does God expect 2 ppl to be friends before marriage
Thank you bro! I am struggling to know if I should follow through with dating this gal online, if she is the one. It does feel like it. She is so many things that I thought would be awesome to have in a significant other, things I never even spoke out loud, things that only the LORD could have read my mind to know (right?). This confirms it for me that she is Heaven sent, not Hell bent. Yet I do have trust issues from past relationships! This article is comforting though. I feel that simply, continuing to date her to see wha’good with GOD truly approving our engagement is fine enough. Please correct me if you do indeed have differing thoughts. #blessings #peace #love
Its just God God God with her so yes its the same with love when i no im going to be alone i want to read Gods word when its going good with her i want to speak the word to everyone. Its just so confusing she never lets me no the real her and my standards need to be a lot higher but hers do need to be a bit lower shes so wrap up in what everyone else has and thinks its how it starts. She is truly amazing but i cant put my life on hold anymore for friends, although I’ll always try and be the best friend i can whatever happens that thick and thin whatever the fudge it is
my boyfriend isn’t a christian 🙁 but i remember before i dated him i ask God for wisdom and what to do and He told me He loves my boyfriend and He will help my boyfriend, He said i will be the one who gives him another chance in life and be a better person and God told me to love him. i’ve done that but my bf isn’t accepting God 🙁 but i feel like God is telling me it’s not the right time but i still doubt sometimes and i’m so scared what if at the end of the day we can’t marry cus he isn’t a christian and i’m gonna feel so bad bcus my boyfriend changed a lot for me and is trying to prove himself to my family den i js sudd leave him cus of this, i need a prayer:( my church believes that my bf will become a christian too in God’s perfect timing i really hope it works out perfectly in Jesus’ name, amen.
I am currently in a relationship I believed God has brought into my life, but there has been deceit and now accusations towards my character. It has gone as far as him accusing me of cheating on him and being a witch(which is far from the truth) I do believe through all of this I have grown closer to GOD. I am unsure of the guidance he is giving me. I believe he wants me to stay with this man because I have always been told the first man I committed to would be the one I was with forever, but the emotional and mental abuse is unbearable. I am unable to focus on my purpose because of it. I pray everyday for the holy spirit to bring me peace and guide me through this season in my life.
i had a vision about being with one girl who i think I’m supposed to be with however now shes with someone else and i am talking to another girl who is also christian but i feel as if she’s not the one, my desire for her is less and my heart is in distress. Part of me is telling me to wait on God, any advice
How do I know if it’s not what God wants for me? I don’t understand dating… because as soon as I start talking to someone I feel like we are already dating/ on course to be married. I know that’s extreme, but I just don’t understand ‘getting to know someone.’ Because in my mind no one will be perfect so why not just pick the first person I talk to? However I’ve talked with multiple people so what happens is this: we talk once, I get confused, and I never reach out again- because I’m not sure if I want to marry that person.
I love someone who is 19 years elder than me.I always pray for him. He’s from Sweden and I’m from India but we both met in Greece. Before meeting him my favourite foreign name was Chris and his name is also Chris. We met in 2018 and his car’s number plate is 1802 and my birthday is on 18/12.I prayed to God to give me any of his photo and God gave me that. Then I asked God to help me finding his address and I found that.I don’t know what God wants but I know that I love my Chris a lot.
It is important to address a crucial point that should be evident: if you are seeking an individual who is currently separated but not yet divorced, it’s essential to remember that they are still legally married until the divorce is finalized. Dating someone who is still married goes against God’s principles and constitutes adultery. If it is in God’s plan for you both to be together eventually, He will make it happen in His perfect timing. However, it is crucial to allow the necessary time for the individual to obtain their freedom legally. Love requires patience and selflessness—it should always honor and center around God. Unfortunately, I have witnessed too many instances within church communities where individuals attempt to justify their actions only to end up hurt and disillusioned. It is vital not to fall into this trap by compromising on biblical values. Remember, true love waits patiently for what aligns with God’s will. Trust in His guidance and seek relationships that prioritize honoring Him above all else.
I was crying last night because me and my ex were not dating no more because the brother told the mom that she has a bf and now I can’t talk to her no more and I prayed all night and morning at 6pm to get her back in my life she makes me happy and feel like I can get through anything that stands in my way, I need God answer and I cried when I was praying because I was soooo for real and we both live far like really far dose God don’t want us to be together because we are that far we both always talk about marriage and kids, I need her back in my life 😖
The Devil also likes to attack a relationship. I been dating my boyfriend for 2 years now and in the beginning he was not a believer and now he is 100 percent all in and so am I and we both completely have changed but I sometimes get these feelings that he my not be the one or that Im falling out of Love . But I never been closer to God since I have been with Him so not sure if its the Devil or God trying to tell me anything does anyone feel this way lol its a lot.
I disagree. I don’t think God would call someone into a romantic relationship with someone and specifically put them in that persons life for a temporary time. I don’t believe that God would want someone to experience, romantic things or relationship with someone that wasn’t supposed to be their husband or wife. You see how that could be kind of evil. Do you understand how that could take away from their future marriage?
Just a reminder for everyone that there is no scripture that says that dating has to be for marriage, you can just date people, in fact if you’re focusing on marriage it might actually reduce the chance you get a good marriage because you’re focused on the end goal and not whether or not you actually get along. Neither dating nor marriage is all fun, but my gosh some parts of it ought to be or why are you doing it. Also, I’d like to remind everyone that there is no biblical prohibition on pre-marital sex. It’s just not in the Bible. Though I would generally agree that if a relationship is helping you spiritually it’s probably a healthy relationship with the revers also being true.
I love this woman who we liked each other for years. We still do and we are committed to be together and be married. My Chrisitan parents think I’m making a bad decision. However, she’s different from many other women and she is so sincere in her life with God. What should I do? I want to have a future with her and please God with her
I need help, my boyfriend and I both wanted to please the Lord and wanted both wanted to walk with Him but we sinned in our relationship and both repented. I sought council from my parents the first time and they told us we weren’t allowed to be alone anymore, and my boyfriend and I agreed to do that way before because we wanted to please God, I felt scared again so I told my parents the details of what he and I did and they forced us to break up. We both had already repented and agreed that we wouldn’t do anything anymore and we both agreed wouldn’t be alone together anymore cause that would cause us to fall. Now my parents want us to start over from scratch not date just talk and like each other they want us to learn how to love God first. We both have a desire to marry each other and have a relationship built and established on Christ. But I need help, how do we do this?
Ok, Y’all.. I need help.. I met a nice guy through a friend; first time nothing really, just a smile and a “Have a good day/night” The second time, I watched him with some intent, and spoke with him some, I felt comfortable around him, which is rare for me with men.. When we all said our goodbyes, he gave me a hug. Didn’t try anything, just a hug.. Surprisingly enough, it felt kinda “safe”?.. Not sure the word.. He pops into my head when I listen to these things, and I hear his name out of nowhere from time to time.. I must admit I am interested because I have dreampt about him and subsequently had deja vu on both occasions.. My question is: “What’s up with that? “
My girlfriend and I are in our early 50s—–we ar both Christians, living and working in two different states. We’ve only been dating now for 2 1/2 months. She’s very busy with her career as well as the works that she does at her church. Plus, she has a young child at home. Since our work schedules differ, we don’t spend a lot of time talking on the phone like we did when she and I first met. I am also concerned that, with her having so much on her plate(career, young child, etc.), that she’ll start losing interest in me and our relationship. What advice do you have for us?
Okay but when I feel sad and lonely I get mixed messages in my head because I’m not used to a guy moving so slow then my passive aggressiveness gets in the way and my neediness. Are values and morals are pretty much all the same and we have a lot in common. Idk why God is so confusing and apart of me just doesn’t want to hear bad news from God. I just keep hearing “take things slow” or “with this one I’m well pleased” lol But it’s weird because I do feel like I’m hearing from God more. But then I think well is the guy really that interested or is he lying about everything?
One question is there, can you please explain why someone marry a person if she don’t like him but she like nature of him but still not want to marry, she is waiting for her dream boy but still she is not searching for her dream boy but atlast s and and get confused and she don’t want to hurt him by saying no to him for marriage…and without saying anything atlast she get married. Now she is feeling so upset and tensed that what it happend with her life still she is not able to like him but his nature was very nice .he is godely man but she is looking for her dream boy with high tech ….may I know is this is something which God makes happen or what? Can you explain
I was in a relationship, the relationship driven me to want to build a legacy for our future family that glorifies God by constructing churches around the world and traveling to minister. I wanted to do it with her. She said she lost feeling, was that God talking to her? I did nothing wrong but be supportive and loving. I was helping her get closer to God. Did God just stopped this?
I need some advice. I’m 16 my boyfriend and I have had a long-distance relationship even since the beginning we met online and became friends, we have been dating for 4 years and I love him. The problem being he’s not a Christian (officially ) he is a nonpracticing Catholic. I admit I have a pretty shaky relationship with Christ but I continue to work on it. My boyfriend despite my trying to share my faith with him has yet to give his heart to Christ. He is open but I’m afraid if he did choose to become a Christian it would be because of me or just because. He struggles mentally and it breaks my heart. He has little hope the only hope as he says is me. I love him and he’s everything I wanted in a man but I’m afraid he’s not the one. But I’m too afraid to lose him. He’s my only true friend and I don’t want to lose his friendship but I’m afraid if I stay friends as I have in the past I will cave in and get back with him… I’m scared and feel I have no one to talk to about this…
I hope god can give me an answer….I have been with my girlfriend for 15 yrs!! And I’m knowing God word more as I’m learning through others and the bible. We are not married and have 1 child, she has native American culture and religion. I’m a Christian and trying to fulfill god’s word into my life anytime I can, I’m very lost on how I should handle this because of god’s word and my life. Please give deeper insight on how I should handle my relationship, its difficult because of the years and my child.
Also. This shouldn’t be required to be said, but if your seeking an individual who has been separated but not yet divorced, they are still married until the divorce is finalized. You do not have the freedom to date so one who is still married. It’s still adultery and If God does want you to be together eventually, he will make it happen, but you must allow for that time for the individual to be free themselves. Love is patient and not self seeking. If it’s not honouring or cantered around God, both of you will be in a world of hurt. I’ve witnessed this too often in church and there are many justifications individuals will attempt to use to justify their actions only to end up hurt and disillusioned.

Pls I need, Guidance, I have deep Feelings For A girl, I am a Christian, She Is A Christian, Infact, When I first saw Her, I was Very Nervous to talk to her, I don’t know, What Came Over me, One Morning, I prayed to God, To give me courage to talk to her, So That day, I talked to her, and things went well, but everytime, I try to commit a sin or a bad habits, I always have this deep, conscience, that I would loose her, or hurt her. Everytime. I think about a lot, we very close friends, we talk to each other every single time. I don’t know what really going on. But I help and Godly advice. Pls reply.
One thing that am tired of it is Religion manipulation. Because if God has a plan He will complete it in your life. He doesn’t need your permission to do it. Do if God want to put someone in your life for a purpose He will do it . And if in your eyes was it not of God, you have to see th purpose. Sansom meet Delilah for a purpose and God complete it. Sometimes God has His own plan . This has nothing to do with Christian but God plans.
Emphasis on “I think, I believe”. God’s word is very clear that seeking a relationship should have the end goal of marriage. There is no example in scripture of God saying that a relationship that doesn’t leave to marriage is His plan. Anything outside of God’s word is sin and dangerous for anyone to pursue
Could someone walking in the Lord for a while help me with a question? I recently met an awesome woman of God but I feel she’s way out of my league… she owns her own business and she’s super attractive but I am willing to pursue her because of her fire for God. Would it be wrong to want to pursue her even though I don’t own my own business and her make way more money than I do? I don’t feel like I’m well established like she is.
I think I’m a horrible person to my Christian boyfriend. I don’t want to think about marriage right now, i don’t want to participate in church more than I do, i just want to be with someone I like and like me back. Also, the whole sex before marriage is a horrible sin makes me feel so ashamed. I hata myself for not being good enough for him.
I’ll disagree with number 2. I don’t see any biblical principles with it. I get the idea with what you are saying but I just don’t agree. To me time is an Important asset and I’ve wasted A lot of it, but doing that bonding with one person through dating is not something I want to do. I think when you have a close relationship with God like a real one. You won’t have to spend a year dating being unsure of where this is going. To me that’s just a sign of immaturity. Not really God saying anything.
@AGW I have watched a couple of your article coming to my feed and really find it hard to follow. Yes you post 1, 2, 3 things God will say or will not say, approve or not approve, quoting scripture, so limiting, Yes God gave us wisdom to discern in all aspect of life. Instead of saying 1,2,3 things to know you are approved by God or not approved in your relationship, God will allow or not allow, May be focus on the ultimate way to be like Jesus, focus on the gift himself instead of his gift for us, that way we will be built for be it relationship, marriage, being a parent, a friend, to be Christ like. When our foundation is solid on Him then He will be the light to our feet where He will lead us, we will be a salt on this earth ( meaning in every move high low) we will reflect Him in every way
I just sharing my experiencing right now i am Christian and i am a musician to our church. And now i have a crush/Loving someone on our church i don’t know what sign that God allow’s me to be together in relationship with this Girl in our, because i don’t see clearly if this girl is God’s want for me to be girlfriend someday.. how do i notice it?.
Question? Anyone. I’m christain and married a Muslim .meet and married is what we did. 10pm the apart and we live together.i found he was unfaithful before we married and met. Yes he ask for forgiveness etc. few days after knowing we both did Ramadan month and he continues to pray 5xs a day due to all this stress. I have him read Quran more and we talk about Allah/God together.im ver familiar with Islam and helping him be a better Muslim as he’s married to a Christian.i don’t go to church or anything but read and do my best to read both holy books and pray with him and he does christain things with me.we both felt god had us meet and very in love. I feel engaged cheating is still cheating. Question is Did God knew this was happing and still had me marry him? Praying together can God will heal us? We only lived together for 4months now.question? We both feel god has his signs for us to work through this. God makes these problem in new marriage to see how we work through it? I see these signs that’s why I’m asking or I would leave the relationship
God does not exemplifies dating, courting he does. There are no examples in the Bible that any man or woman is to date. Dating is a way to try out partners sexually. You don’t date as a Christian. If you’re looking for a partner then you court them, but you don’t date because today that’s what dating is about.
Why is christian dating so sad and tragic you can be so in love with someone who genuinely loves you and everything seems fine and then all of a sudden God yell you to break up the pain is so deep the lack of peace of mind making you go crazy, the sleepless night thinking of how you are going to shatter your heart and also the person that you love heart I’m just tired 😔 . I kinda dislike christian dating to be honest 😔 I feel like falling in love is now a crime.
Uuggggh. I don’t believe in any form of monogamy until marriage. I’m going to assume you mean dating is going on dates, but not as a relationship. I don’t think there should be any boyfriend/girlfriend season at all. There should be friends only- betrothal- marriage. Monogamous relationship without marriage just gets people falling in love when they shouldn’t be.

You’re completely wrong about Christian “dating.” There is no Christian “dating”. There is either let be friends and see whether we could get married (courting) or there is dating like the world and being in relationship that is not a friendship or not a marriage relationship that is grey. Dating originally started as a another word for prostitution. God doesn’t tell anyone they need to get married to this person. You chose that. Nothing in scripture to back up what you are saying. You can have an opinion but so can other Christians as well.
So Bad choice of words. Avoid ” what God wants” should say this instead. ” “Teaching of Jesus says…” . or Teachings of the Bible says… I hear Christians misinterpreting their belief in so many ways. The book of Corinthians are letters written to the Church and the people called Corinthians at Corinth, Greece.. A church that Paul the Apostle founded.
I’m omnisexual which means to have an attraction towards all genders & have preferences & is regardless of gender so we do care about the gender. I’m tired of bein single.
