My glow up is that this time last year, I was homeless was in a bad relationship and had a bad relationship with my mum. Now, I have met the most amazing man, I have a roof over my head, a good job, a great relationship with my mum and the most exciting thing is I have a daughter due on the 2nd of August. I am so excited to becoming a mummy 😀
My glow up is being a full time carer for my special needs son. (He has dyspraxia) and he’s grown up an amazing young man, kind, loving, caring and so funny. Also being a mama to my 22 yr old beautiful daughter who is training to be a midwife. I’m so proud of them. I sometimes think how did those amazing kids come from me hee hee 😂
This year my son turns 13. I’ve raised him by myself and he is such a lovely young man and I’m so proud of him. I struggled with anxiety after he was born and this week marks 1 year since I took any medication for it. I’m also coming to the end of my first year as a teacher. I’m so proud of what we have achieved as the dream team. X
As far as glow ups, I’ve definitely grown soo much in the past few months. I JUST GOT A PROMOTION TODAY! I work at Ulta and that’s so exciting for me since I love, love, love the beauty industry/community. I’m glad you did this article! Congrats babe 🙂 You seem so confident and happy. I’m SO proud of your new house! Get it girl!!
Oh wow! I need to try all of these products! My glow up is escaping different types of abuse, cutting out so many toxic people, healing from the abuse and battling PTSD. A few years ago, I couldn’t even leave my own house, now I am a travel photographer, happily married, a mum, finally living my dream life, learning to love myself, and helping other survivors :’) I’m really proud of how far I’ve come 💜
It’s been an amazing year so far. After two years of distance relationship, I’ve moved from Latvia to the UK to live with my boyfriend, found a job and life seems perfect now 🙂 I love MUAs idea with this campaign and I love your articles, one of the things that happened this year was me falling in love with makeup and your website was the first one beauty related I’ve watched, thank you for your amazing articles.
Glad that you have lots of good stuff happening for you this year. I always pick up good tips from your articles and you use some of the British drugstore and cheaper brands that I am familiar with. I don’t know where the time’s gone this year. I paid off the fees for my Master’s, completed one of the MA modules for the year and passed it pretty well. Just one more module to do now. There are usually more glows for me than that,, but I guess it’s quality not quantity. Love the coral lip.
Love when partners are proud of their other halfs! We want them basking in their own glow up! My personal glow up has been taking time for myself…saying no to doing shit I hate (parties, people etc) and practicing self love by doing shit I enjoy (reading, working on my house with my lots of animals and my man) 🧡
My achievement has been accepting my new self because 4 years ago I was doing acting and dance in uni. Had a pretty bright future with it and then chronic pain and eds took over and I had to give it all up, my job, dancing, going to the gym, socialising and eventually had to use a wheelchair when I go out because of pain and exhaustion. I went from a size 8 to 14/16. I had anorexia but I was putting on weight because I wasn’t mobile. I felt like a waste of a life. Fast forward to this year and I have a better relationship with food, I’m confident and proud in my wheelchair and I’m just content with my life even though It was not at all what I thought it would be. So yeah Im proud that I didn’t give up on life, fight through the illness and got the help I needed. Love you steph. Your articles have really helped me fill the time I have on my hands! X
My lil glow up is that I finally quit my job that was damaging my mental health, so that I can focus on recovery. I’m taking time for myself, and finally admitted to myself that I can’t do this alone, and have found a counsellor who I really like already (only had 2 sessions and Im already being helped!). Any counselling I’ve done before has always been because I should do it, other people want me to, doctors told me to, and I never got on well with it. So after removing myself from it for over 2 years, I’ve done this because I wanted to. I’m just proud of myself. ☺️
My glow up is my mental health, I’m started to get back to my old self aka the happy glowing confident me, around 2/3 years ago my doctors diagnosed me with anxiety and depression, my doctors seem to think the depression mainly came out when I had a miscarriage and it made me be at my lowest(like it would anyone) I couldn’t eat, sleep and I refused to go to school and because I didn’t eat I went from a size 10 to a size 6 in the matter of months my friends and family were genuinely so worried for me I then got counselling and now I’m slowly getting back to myself and I’m so proud 🌟🌟🌟
My glow up is my physical and mental health! I didn’t do too well in my GCSE’s due to this, had to drop out of a-levels as I was too ill, I then completed my health and social and I’ve now just finished my first year of my nursing degree!! I never thought I’d be well enough to do it but here I am👩🏼⚕️
My glow up is I’m finally getting my life back. In less than a year I have gone from 314lbs to 224lbs AND COUNTING. I will NOT stop until I get my healthy body back. Before I got pregnant I weighed 115lbs so to say I’ve picked up a few, FEW pounds is an absolute understatement and joke to be honest. But I’m getting me back. I love you, Steph.
Steph, you’re so much like me! Get emotional when you talk about things your proud of. 🤗 my glow up is that I’ve lost over 2 and a half stone to make myself feel better. I feel like I’ve sorted out my life & I’m where I want to be! I practice self-love and tell myself everyday that I’m good enough for whatever life throws at me! 💕
I finally made it through getting off all my meds and started relying solely on my PTSD service dog, Mochi Kai, and my therapist to control my PTSD, anxiety and depression. I obviously still have to take meds when I have severe anxiety but that hasn’t happened in the past 2 months bc Mochi can sense my anxiety, anger or just a sudden change in my mood before it starts and before I even realize it! I can’t say it’s been easy, I was sick for weeks once I stopped all the meds but it has been so worth it!! And of course I’m not saying anyone else should stop taking their anxiety, PTSD or antidepressants or even that taking them is bad. Everyone has to take stock of their situation and listen to their own body and their doctors. For me it was causing too many reactions with the other medications I Have to take and I decided along with my doctors and therapist that stopping them for awhile possibly permanently was the best decision for me at this point.
My glow up is this year so far. I’ve gone from having zero confidence to my confidence growing everyday. I’ve been in some seriously abusive relationships and I’m letting the left overs from all the abuse go. I’m growing everyday into the woman I want to be. This year has been tough so far but I’m far from done. I’m gonna be an amazing women that I can be proud of someday soon. And I can finally say I’m starting to love myself. I am strong, beautiful and worth it! We all are! So ya that’s my glow up.
I’ve definitely grown a lot this year and realised that everything really does happen for a reason. I’ve started to love the way I am, slowly but getting there I wouldn’t be like that without my fiancé. I’ve grown as an MUA getting more confident and learning more skills, we’ve just bought our first place and looking at wedding venues. I think this year is going to be the best year! Btw so happy for you and Olly and this collection is EVERYTHING!! 🙌💕
I get very ill 3 years ago and up untill last November spent everyday in bed or hospital but I took the plunge and had brain surgery to improve my quality of life last November. So I’ve fought hard to get back walking (OmG an achievement in itself) even though I will never walk properly again. And now am getting back into life going out everyday swimming 2ce a week I’ve already lost a stone. And am going back to work very soon. Thank you for the inspiration to look at what I’ve already achieved and not what’s left to work towards. ❤️
So happy you guys are moving into your new house – good luck with the move and try not to stress… it will all be worth it. So exciting!! 😁😁 Glow up would be becoming a Boys Brigade Officer this year…. the children I work with make me incredibly happy and I have such pride in them. They are wonderful little characters 😊 . Xx
How stunning is this new range? Love the coral lip on you too! Ok my glow up… as you know my worlds been turned upside down after I lost my dad. This year I’ve noticed small changes, I’ve no time for bullshit it shitty people anymore, I am spending way more time on myself! Lots of self love and self care. I let myself have those bad days and don’t push myself to always be perfect. So my glow up is my mental health really.. learning that my grief has changed me but that I can move forward building around the loss and use my loss to help others ❤️
I think we have the same highlighter obsession! If I could get away with covering my full body every day I would 🙂 My glow up is I passed my driving test recently and travelled to New Zealand, Australia, Bali, Singapore, Malaysia and Sri Lanka for a once in a lifetime adventure! 2019 is good so far! Love seeing how far you’ve come and each article you do ❤
My glow up has to be overcoming my anxiety and depression…okay so not fully overcoming it but dealing with it a whole lot better and doing things that terrified me before and actually smiling and feeling content and happy 🙃 ohh and hey from one Cornish maid to another 😉 love you love your website xx
My glow up is that I started sharing my health story to raise awareness of my rare genetic disease and all the other chronic illnesses that come with it. Docs dismissed me for over 30 years, they ignored how bad my health was and I had a spontanous cross section paralysis that could have been avoided. My goal is to give people hope, to show them that it’s okay to struggle and to take day by day because we are all strong warriors ❤ no matter how many rebounds we have to face.
My glowup is getting more independent and starting a new and a big step in my life and im kind of scared. I’ve also started to enjoy my own company and at the moment in trying to focus on my self after a rough breakup. And my compliment to myself is that i’ve succeeded in so many things this past month for example I just gratuated! Go me🥰
The one glow up I can say and it’s not for me but for my mum she came through and beat Cancer for the second time and things can only go upwards from here for us all and better things to come our way. As for me I know I will pass my Maths going into a new year in the September as i aren’t going to let it beat me. Looking forward to seeing what 2020 as install for me and my family xx
mua have really picked up the game lately, i’ll defo have to pick up a few of these items!! my glow up is that i handed my notice in my job yesterday so i can take a couple of months off and focus on myself! me and my boyfriend are moving into a new house and we have enough saved i can take a while off and figure out what i want to do!
My biggest glow up is definitely making it through uni. It took me 5 years, which is longer than most and caused me more mental and emotional stress than I ever thought possible. But I am getting my results tonight and I for sure know that despite grades etc I have grown up in so many ways and will be a qualified scientist 👩🏼⚕️Xx
Hey Steph My glow up it finally pushing myself to putting articles up…. if they crap it don’t matter cus I’ve tried 😉 I’m 50 on Sunday… better late than never….. I brought the glow spritz and liked it… I prefer nicking my daughters felty but it’ll do for this old timer Lovely look sweetheart 😘😘😘xxx
I dig how down to earth you are Steph! Could so have a stoopid ole natter with ya easily!! My glow up, still happening, nice a slowly steady, I suffer with M.E. and fibromyalgia and I’m slowly working out how to manage it, whilst still being a wife to my amazing hubby and a mum to our two boykids! 😁 the saga continues… … …
My glow up is that I was “the ghost” in the class during middle school. Ya know, where they still communicate with you but still won’t call you unless they need your help. I did poorly in my class before. Honestly, I was always the last rank at that time. But then when I got into high school, we had to learn Chemistry, Physic and Biology in English instead of Geography, History and Science which we had to learn in our mother tongue. Learning Those three subjects in English, my rank went up to the top ten in the class. I actually learn better in English than my own language. Honestly, everyone was shocked like this loser literally went up from last to top ten. Well, they weren’t expecting that. I have to say I’m very happy with my glow up. Now, I’m in a well known university with great marks and no,I ain’t the ghost anymore. I learnt how to treat people in the right way. So yeah, this is my glow up story. Love you, Steph ❤️❤️❤️
Reading all of the glow ups in the comments made me smile! Wish I could say I’ve got a glow up but I’ve not, I’m constantly bashing myself about my weight and that I want to lose it and I hate everything about my body and I just can’t seem to stop! Has anyone got any tips on how to just embrace and love yourself more? Xx
My glow up is I’m finally pregnant. Me and my partner have been trying for 3 years, had 3 misscarragies. I was told I’d never be able to carry to term and in just 3 weeks I find out the sex of my beautiful little jellybean. My glow up was also finally wearing jeans again after years and years of not (I’m a fat girl) I always thought they didn’t suit me but my partner has helped me so much with my confidence! My partners glow up is making new friends! He suffers from anxiety but this year he has totally stepped out his box and has new friends!
For anyone that doesn’t know, MUA do a fantastic bronzer called MUA BRONZED MATTE BRONZING POWDER I use the shade Solar 110 and I am ultra pale. As that shade is a cool tone and has an almost sheer look about it, I can build it up if I want to. This is the only bronzer I have been fully happy with so I went and ordered another and at £2.50 it’s a bargain. I think it’s in the 3 for 2 at Superdrug at the moment too.
I don’t know if anyone can help, but on the Superdrug website they seem to have the highlighter trios names mixed up. The golden kisses, which I want, has the name golden delights with the picture! I don’t know if I order the correct name or picture? Anyone ordered either of these off their website? xo
After reading through the comments I’d just like to congratulate everyone who is fighting a battle, be it mental health, bad relationships, drugs or the toxic people in their lives. After a spinal injury in 2006 I’ve been left in constant pain, also developed Fybro. I’ve had general anxiety disorder since the age of 7 and have bouts of depression. Both my grown up sons have depression and I feel the guilt of passing this on to them. One of my sons is my full time carer and he is struggling so much at the minute. His weight is a huge problem and he is having the change meds yet again and it breaks my heart when he comes to tell me he has been Googling the easiest way to kill yourself. So the only glow up I can say I have is that we are still here and fighting. I’m off to go check on him again now. Keep fighting everyone and only allow those that truly love you to be in your lives. Sending love and hugs to you all. Helen xxxxx
🌞😘🧡🌞😘😘 I was in a TERRIBLE, BAD marriage that included abuse in every way possible. I left him and my glow up occurred a few months after that. I had lost all my personal value and self esteem. My kids and I have a home, vehicle, and a stable income from my current husband. I have really been blessed and feel like I went through such a storm to become the hella woman I am today!!!💛💜🧡💛💜🧡
Love your reviews and personality. But really hate the ‘whats your glow up/achievement’ introduction stuff… It just comes across as fake. Like, sorry, but you probably couldn’t care less what your viewers have achieved? I would just stick to your honest reviews. Think you’ll get more viewers that way.
So, a SPONSORED article about products you’ve NEVER used before? How does that work? I mean, what if the products are no good? It’s not like you can say so in the article. I don’t know, man. Is that the best idea? I’m all for sponsored articles and people making money but I don’t know. I’m feeling some kind of way about it.
