What Happened On Frankenstein And Elizabeth’S Wedding Night?

In the novel Frankenstein, Elizabeth expresses her desire to marry Victor, but worries he may have taken another lover during his long absence. Victor remembers the monster’s vow to be with him on his wedding night and decides that whether he kills it or it kills him, at least he will be free. The wedding takes place, and Victor and Elizabeth depart for a family cottage to spend the night.

In the evening, Victor can think of nothing but the monster’s imminent arrival. Inside, he worries that Elizabeth might be killed by the monster. Victor receives a letter from Elizabeth, who expresses her desire to marry Victor, but worries he may have taken another lover during his long absence. The creature strangles Elizabeth, and Victor chases him with his pistol fired missed. The creature vanishes into the woods until Victor pursues him.

During their voyage to Paris, Victor finds that he had overexerted his strength and that he had overtaxed his strength. Elizabeth’s letter reminds Victor of their intended union, and this revives the memory of the monster’s threat: “I will be with you on your wedding night.” The monster attacks and kills Elizabeth, and Victor finally tells Elizabeth his secret. The monster never shows up for his revenge.

The novel builds to its climax as Victor fears the monster will kill him on his wedding night. The climax is foreshadowed and suspense is built by Victor’s actions.

  • The full body skin prostethic and make-up effects was just fenomenal awesome for this movie in 1994. They look very realistic and disturbing includet. Four or Five hours both stood DeNiro and Bonham-Carter inside in their tight latex skin-suits almost every day and night for a few sequences. It was so hot, claustrophobic and i guess very unconfortable for both of them.
