I have a friend who is super shy and would not enjoy being a bridesmaid. She’s also blind, and I’ve really struggled thinking of ways to still honor her in my wedding (because I’d love to include her!). I’ve considered having her be a witness and someone who signs the marriage certificate. I believe you need two witness signatures, and from the research I’ve done, it seems a blind individual can still be a witness! It seems the qualifications are that you are eighteen and are aware that a wedding took place.
