What is difference between love and compatibility?

Love and compatibility are important for a successful relationship. But compatibility might be more important than love in a long-term relationship. Love makes us feel connected to another person. Love can make us work through issues, but it can’t sustain a partnership. Compatibility determines how well two people work together. It makes a couple’s love stronger and more resilient. Love is important, but compatibility is key for a lasting relationship. When we first fall in love, we often don’t think about compatibility. People often forget about compatibility when they’re in love. But as time goes on, the importance of compatibility becomes clear. You can feel love without being compatible, but a relationship built on love alone may not last. Incompatible couples may love each other even though they fight a lot. Love without compatibility doesn’t last.

A relationship works when people have similar values, communication styles, and interests. Two people with similar lifestyles can understand each other better. Likewise, compatible couples talk openly, helping to resolve disagreements. Couples who share interests or hobbies are more likely to bond and create long-lasting memories together. In a relationship, compatibility is important. It makes the relationship work and helps both partners enjoy it.

  • I’ve recently found someone like this and it makes me so happy. All my relationships in the past, I’ve felt like I have to put on a facade, to hide parts of myself that I’m too embarrassed to share. But when I’m with this person, I want to be myself. I love being myself around them, I love sharing details about my life, my interests, my hobbies, etc with them, and I love getting to listen to them talk about their interests, too.

  • I was in a terrible, abusive relationship for years and finally got the courage to leave a couple years ago. Currently, I am experiencing the healthiest relationship I’ve ever had. We check all of these boxes. I never thought it was possible before, but it is. Don’t ever settle for less than you deserve. It is truly worth waiting for. ❤️

  • Another 2 big things not listing which are required if you want the relationship to last more then a year or two. 1. Similar libido – physical needs are about half of a relationship so yes this is important. If either is a let’s say a once or twice a week person and the other is I need you everyday kind of person, it won’t work. This could apply to more then just the physical half of the relationship. Something this significant not being close to one another will only create resentment for one and an overwhelming feeling of obligation for the other. 2. Loyalty – you have to be more than just committed to the other person, you have to be willing to protect, willing to fight, even die for them. Their needs are before your own and likewise if you’re meant to be they will put your needs before their own too. Each of you will be ready to help the other and will stay loyal no matter what obstacles are thrown your way. If you want your relationship to grow and flourish these must be true.

  • I just met someone and I’m not a teenager so usually i take things slow until commiting and such and he does too. But man, we had one date and we have been texting for two weeks straight. It’s crazy how we never have to search for a conversation topic. And of course I don’t wanna rush anything, but i just feel like i can tell him anything? Also he is very supportive of my goals (i much likely will earn more one day than he does and he is 100% okay with that and me not wanting to stay at home with kids). Also, i have always played the therapist/carer for my past relationships (i only realized this after a while). And this guy is well established in his life and very happy with his job. It’s such a great feeling when both of you are complete human beings on your own and happy with yourself and your lives, but you get to share that with someone else

  • who else has all of these with their s/o!! the world is so sad and seeing so many people who constantly break long term relationships makes me sad and worried that one day my bf will get tired of me but this is very comforting 🙂 my bf and i are a ldr and have been together since 2018 and were gonna move in together next year!

  • This article’s been really helpful and reaffirms my relationship with my fiancé. All of the points made are essential to maintain a healthy and happy relationship. Also, communication is key in any relationship, it’s so easy to misinterpret things and get the wrong idea which can cause disagreements. Thank you! 😊

  • There is one girl. The more I see her, I start thinking it’d be nice for us to go out even when she took the plunge and asked me if I was open to it. There’s nothing to hide. Not sure what values we both have. We only see other now at least twice a week but I still look forward to asking her. I believe we are compatible.

  • what scares me about relationships is that i dunno what it’s like to be loved and cared for or being able to love someone n showing that so i feel like i know that i’m gonna be so obsessed and so imbalanced n lost in someone if they loved me n i loved them back so I’m terrified to mess up n dunno what to do about it cuz it’s nerve wrecking the thought of it

  • I was about to watch this article, because I am best friends with a guy, and we keep saying; “We don’t like each other. We are just friends. If the circumstances were different, then maybe more than friends. But for now…” And it’s confusing the hell outta me. We both keep saying, “I don’t like you like that. That would be weird, right?” More like we are trying to convince ourselves. I feel so safe and comfortable with him, and we tell each other everything. It almost feels like we both have feeling for each other but if something goes wrong then we are afraid it’ll ruin our friendship. We laugh and talk for hours, and I’m the only one he actually acts emotional with. We’ve actually cried together. He’s said that before he met me he was rude and always shut people out if he felt any sadness. He almost felt like it was a weakness. But when he met me, he said everything changed. I honestly have no idea if that’s just him being friendly or trying to hint at something. (For future reference, let’s call him X) But then, of course, there’s another guy. This I’m sure of my feelings about, but not sure of his. Again, he seems to only talk to me about things. He’s said that if he were to date anyone, it would be me. But that he doesn’t like me like that. I’m more sure about him in the way that when him and I are sitting on the bus, talking, him looking out the window, telling me about his depression and that he thinks he needs someone to survive, being with him feels right. But the next day, he’s totally different.

  • It may change, but at the moment, I’m guessing that Commitment (and communication) is what’s holding me back from dating someone. I mean, it’s as if I think that it’s common that… One mistake (big or small) is enough for my partner’s “affection” to plummet. And are so upset that (basically/pretty much) only very specific words can “salvage” the relationship.

  • i’m talking about friendships here – why is it always me ? why do i always have to put the effort in, make the plans, send the first text… without getting anything in return ? if i don’t start anything, nothing happens. i’m sick of being there for everyone when nobody is ever there for me. how do you all find friends who actually care ?

  • Me and my girl broke up a while back, and perusal this article I realized that we had mostly all of the points in this article in our favor, but when we were together we were really in love and if she didn’t have to move houses, I bet we would’ve been a fine couple, so the accuracy in this article is a 10/10

  • Sharing core values is very important, especially when it comes to morals (no cheating), no drugs, no smoking, no heavy alcohol usage, ( no or social drinking only), no addictions, no psycho drama, being honest, trustworthy, loving, caring, unselfish, no jealousy, and believes in 50/50..(decision making, and responsibilities ). That is what basically works for me, however, everyone is different in what they value. I have been single for eight years, for I am tired of dealing with men who play games, cheat, lie, leave me hanging, screw with my living situation, etc ! ( There were a few that were legit …I think) There must be someone out there who is serious about a LTR ?!??

  • Before I got married I was working and going to school. I was active, independent, social, and attractive. My apartment was clean and organized. I had my own car. Now, I’m obese, isolated, I don’t drive, I have no friends and no life. My apartment is crowded and uncomfortable like Hoarders. My husband doesn’t help me clean. He always has the car (that I paid for). He has great qualities, but the resentment is growing daily. He invaded my life, and took over everything I worked hard for. Next month is our 10 year anniversary, and I’m literally not sure we’re going to make it.

  • That moment when you’re not even compatible with yourself… I can’t remember the last time I let my guard down. I walk around in a metaphorical Iron Man suit made from Vibrainium. When I’m outside I add to it. Somehow, despite being interested in just about everything under the sun, I don’t remember ever meeting someone who’s watched/played/read (Insert Popular TV show/movie/video game/book here). While current events aren’t helping, it doesn’t change the fact that most strangers I’ve met have no idea what I’m talking about when I bring up Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings or Halo or Half-Life or Zelda or God of War or Dune, etc. And people wonder why I’m so desperate to leave. I’m surrounded by sheep who don’t know anything that isn’t on the news. And I’m barely into my 20s. Canada really has earned the title “Most Boring Country on Earth.”

  • My grandmother told me the best one for me is Good to God and is the one who enjoys your stupid jocks and laughs from heart about it .funny old folks philosophy of love but i sometimes rely to believe it since i had a couple of relationships that has all what you say in this clip and more but ended up with breaking up or a disaster .

  • What if I can’t tell if he’s in it for the long haul? I’m kind of worried because I had to leave my toxic family behind and he has a mother who expects a lot from him. She wants him to marry someone well off and I don’t blame her but like- I love him but I can tell that when I meet her someday that she might not like me. I’ve told my family about him by mistake but even tho they be toxic they still want to meet him and they can tell that I’m happier with him. I’m just afraid that if he holds her opinion highly, that the relationship will crash and I don’t want all that we are together be for not. I really love him but I don’t want to get hurt down the line. I dunno maybe I’m worrying too much you know?

  • This might sound crazy but Me and my girlfriend were just talking about getting closer and getting more comfortable LOL Why am I freaked out now._. Update: so thanks for telling me these things peoples:D but me and my girlfriend have broken up because we believe we do not have much of a friendship anymore and we both want to rebuild it. This is still sad to me but it’s for the best cause all I wanna see is her smile:> she says that she needs to focus on herself for once and stop focusing on others (she is the type of girl that would help other people but wouldnt help herself) I’m really happy for her and I’m proud:) we both talked this over and we decided its better to stay best friends for now and maybe in the future date again^-^ Thanks you people for the support 🙂

  • How do you get someone else to see this though? Sometimes it’s harder to see the incompatibility when you’re the one in the relationship. I’m literally perusal a dear friend repeatedly break up with the same man for almost three years now. I see the opposite of all these signs mentioned in the article… makes each other worse, can’t be themselves around each other, don’t share same values about money and life, the list goes on.

  • And another, having same personality with your partner… may not work. Example you’re humble and sensitive, and your partner is the same, then it will cause some jealousy (since you’re both sensitive) while if both of your partner are independent, then you’ll not able to support each other. It’s like puzzle, in order to complete the puzzle it needs to be different, yet compatible to be complete.

  • The thing is, I am not in a relationship rn and I desperately want someone that likes me for who I am and things like this but I have only 1 (up to 2) contacts in my life besides my family and I don’t want to seem crazy but as soon someone likes me (just friend wise) I am immediately head to toes in love with them and imagine us two being in a relationship. I don’t know how to stop that :/

  • My partner and I have everything that has been listed, my only problem is I and even him just can’t spent time apart that much. It’s like we can’t stay away from each other. It’s been over a year now and we seem to fall in love more. So Is it bad that we spend all of our time together? It’s a long distance relationship.. Before I finish this I’d like to also mention that he does talk to friends and play with them, even when I’m around. So idk if this is healthy or not

  • Relationship compatibility is tough in many countries in 2020, because of the rising cost of living. For example, in the USA, estimates are that at least 90% of single women look for the top 5% of guys in income. I know a lady, who has friends who will not date a guy who makes less than $250,000 a year !!! Even that lady would never date me, and I would not date her, I can do better in Eastern Europe, even though she is nice. She does not understand that I am capable of making a lot more than $250,000 a year, but see not reason to do that as long as I am alone, and comfortable. Then, there is the fact that in divorce, women in the US get custody of the children 90% of the time, leaving the guy with huge child support payments. So, more and more guys are going MGTOW, Men going their own way; since dating and marrying a woman is too risky, and can cost the guy everything. Even myself, I have paid out $180,000 in child support on my 3 kids, and this is nothing compared to what guys in more recent years have to pay. The system is very broken and something has to change. I want a partner who also has my values about how money is managed. Most people are terrible with managing money and expenses. I also want a partner who likes to take good care of their body and health. Since it is now free for a human body to feel 25 or younger well past 100, there is no reason for anyone to get physically old and go through the enormous expense and suffering of aging.

  • Damn none of my relationships checked off a single one of these. That’s a tad demoralizing. All my previous partners had ulterior motives for being in a relationship with me so nothing was ever genuine. Had she not simply been using me as a time sink until her real boyfriend graduated highschool, the relationship i had back in ’09 woulda checked off all five. I hate people.

People there create connections for their gain. So be it done intentionally or unintentionally it doesn’t mean the connection will last beyond the first encounter.🙄🤔😅😔
