The first Honeymoon Israel Cohort took place in Greater MetroWest NJ from March 3rd through March 13th, 2022. The goal of the program is to make young couples of all backgrounds feel welcome in Israel.

Something I discovered was that Israel is a similar price to the uk, however coffee is a completely different issue. I’ve never been able to drink coffee without sugar. But oh my, Israeli coffee is incredible and well worth 16shekels for a large upside down. I think I’ve found my inner Israeli, between driving. I got to go to Israel earlier this year and it was a most fantastic trip. I really enjoyed the food and drink and I highly recommend getting freshly pressed pomegranite juice from a street vendor it is fabulous. For those of you Christians who want to visit the tomb but don’t like how crowded the Church of the Holy Sepulchre is I recommend visiting the Garden Tomb which is in a fairly undisturbed state and is much more quiet and contemplative. I love to watch articles of Israel. It is like being there. I may never actually get to go there until Christ returns, but I sure enjoy seeing the cities, markets, and people. I am Hebrew on my dad’s side of the family, and it is so great to see women with the long, thick curly hair that I also have. LOL, it’s like I found my people!!
I been to israel and its very nice.. unluckily I never seen a desert as we stayed in tel aviv. WE been up north to the gallilee and Nazareth and in jerusalem.. The most thing that disappointed me the most is not that its expensive to go there but the exchange rate of currencies from Australian dollar to Sheckles. I checked the exchange rate in the internet and 1 ausstralian dollar is about 2.5 sheckles but in the airport the exchange rate is only around 80 sheckle cents for 1 aussie dollar………
I was in Israel last month, and had loaded the apps you suggested on my cell. I do have an Israeli SIM card, with a number I’ve used for years. But, some of them, and also some parking apps, like Cello, wanted a mispar zehut, which I don’t yet have. Others wanted an Israeli credit card, which you can’t get without an Israeli bank account, and I have neither yet.
I have an extra day in Israel that I have no plans for (after 2 days in Tel Aviv and 4 in Jerusalem). I wanted to rent a car and go somewhere for that day. What would be recommended? Oren, can you help with recommending how to get to the kotel for a wheelchair user. It would be most appreciated. Israel is now our no1 favourite. Laughing at you saying don’t get a car in Tlv or jlm, we had a car and stayed in Tlv and had 0 issues parking, pango is a must. Jlm wasn’t an issue either, maybe for Americans it would be an issue, but for those of us that have driven in Paris or Barcelona, jlm and Tlv are a piece of cake lol.

My hotel is in East Jerusalem, would the Sherut taxi still take me there? Or would I be better just making my way to Damascus gate and walking the rest of the way.

When u hear “seva adom” or red alert in English u have anywhere from 30 seconds to about just over a minute (w/no exaggeration) to get to safety whether it be in your saferoom or Mamood in Hebrew which many homes have to have, to running in a nearby shop or even getting out of your car and laying in a ditch until the rocket coming in from Palestine, Lebanon etc is caught by the iron dome if you’re lucky. That happens even when we’re not at war and when we are which we average one every 2 yrs it seems, many are in bomb shelters. I think I saw a statistic that said about 70% of children living in areas like siderot have ptsd. Walls had to be built to stop busses, shops etc from being bombed. Soldiers are everywhere because we’re “safe.” We( and the rest of the world) will be safe when arabs get what they deserve. From an American of Israeli background

Don’t use debit cards? I always used my debit card at ATM’s when in Israel, though last time (pre-Covid) only Bank Leumi and Bank Hapoalim accepted them. I always felt safe in Israel. Well, there was that one time in Haifa when my taxi driver did not feel that he needed to hold onto the wheel when going downhill on a winding road. A private guide is best. You can tour at your own speed, and get to see lesser know sites. Since it is expensive, I recommend you go with family and friends to share the cost. Packaged tours will rush you around and miss many sites. Personally, I’ve been to Israel enough time that I can get around by myself, though if I want to go to an isolated area I will hire a guide for the day. Israel may be expensive, but who goes to Israel to save money? I will be coming for three weeks starting the last week of November.
