What Is The Groom’S Entrance Called?

The wedding processional order is the group of people walking down the aisle in a specific order to mark the beginning of a wedding ceremony. In Hindu weddings, the groom enters with his family and friends in a celebration called a Baraat, where they traditionally arrive on a white horse. The bride walks down the aisle underneath a canopy, escorted by loved ones such as the groom’s parents, the mother of the bride, and the groom’s best man.

The bride stands on her father’s right side, while the groom stands on her left side. The wedding processional order can be determined using traditions such as the groom and best man entering from a side door, bridesmaids and ushers walking in pairs, the bride and groom entering the venue, and the groom entering from stage left in silence between background music and processional music.

Milni, or milniyaan, is a tradition where the bride’s side relatives meet and greet the groom’s side relatives with gifts. The groom’s family and friends gather for a special ritual called Sehra Bandi, where the groom’s face is covered with a decorative veil or sehra.

The Baraat Horse is a common part of Indian tradition, with family members adorning the Ghodi with embellishments to match the groom. A modern take on the Baraat entrance involves the groom entering, followed by family members, the wedding party, ring bearer, and flower girl. The bride enters, escorted by her father.

The wedding processional includes the officiant, groom, best man, groomsmen, maid of honor, bridesmaids, ring bearer, flower girl, and the bride. The grand entrance often leads directly into the first dance.
