  • My grandparents have been married for 66 years so far. She was 17 and he was 18 about to leave for boot camp. He said to her “either you marry me tonight, or I’m not coming back to you.” They got married that night and he left for boot camp the next day. 5 kids, 3 war tours over 2 wars, and 2 rounds with cancer and chemo and they are still together <3

  • This reminds me of a quick-ish story: I was picking up an 88yo gentleman from the hospital to bring home after being discharged. His wife, about the same age, was there with him. The guy couldn’t hear well, even with hearing aides. We would have to shout at him just to say ‘hello’ but, amazingly, he could hear his wife’s voice, despite the fact she had the quietest, most soft voice. They’ve been married for 71 years. It was fascinating and inspiring to see them together and how much they loved each other.

  • There were an interview from I think Sweden’s oldest couple. The reporter asked how they’ve managed to stay together so long. The simple reply was, ”back when we grew up, if something broke, you fixed it.” And then they laughed. I sense the same thing with these two. So cute and truly kind to each other.

  • Just yesterday I said “I’m getting old at the age of 36” After perusal this and realizing that they have been married more than twice the amount of years that I’ve been alive, I no longer feel I’m at Death’s Door due to old age lol 😅😅. Congratulations to this Happy Couple and may they have many more happy years together!! 🙂

  • It’s true what the man said, about being friends and not going to bed mad —- My husband and I started as neighbors, became friends, then married. Though neither of us could say the moment we fell in love — we both just knew from the beginning that we were meant to be together. Love can last a lifetime and beyond.

  • I had to Google it: John Henderson is 106 and was born in 1912; and Charlotte is 105 (at the time of their 80th anniversary December 2019). It is frustrating neither the article nor the description clearly spells out how old each of them is, or the definition of “oldest couple” except right at the end of the article when it explains their collective age is 212.
