What I like about the Bayek and Aya duo is that they fit perfect for the theme of Assassin’s Creed important members and historical figures like Altaïr and Ezio: Sacrifise Despite the love that they still feel for each other (they did not ‘break up’ as most people claim), they realise that throughout their journey together, they became aware of the chaos in the world and that a bigger cause has called for their actions. So in order to serve the greater good, they sacrifise the love they have for each other and follow a new path that awaits for both of them: The Path of the Hidden Ones. Their theme of sacrifising something important fits the Assassin masters Altaïr and Ezio and together with Bayek they form the three most key members of the entire Assassin’s Creed franchise. Altaïr was raised as an assassin and is the one who stopped the corruption of Al Mualim in the creed. After obtaining the Piece of Eden, he sacrifised the normal life he could have lived with his wife and son and still stood up to Abbas’ rebellion and even years afterwards he still served the Creed and stopped Abbas. Ezio never had a choice about joining the assassins. He fell in it due to the actions of his parents and them being targeted by Rodrigo Borgia. Ezio wasted most of his life in order to get revenge for the death of his father and brothers. After being freed from the thought of revenge, Ezio made a choice: to sacrifise the life he could have had after his revenge and instead he choose to spread the Renaissance and Assassin ideals of independence and free will throughout the Italy and later on throughout the entire world.
Wanna know what’s more awesome? I actually put an eagle skull on some soil to see if it was legit and the Assassin insignia really popped up. This game really kept true to its title. The roots of the Brotherhood, truly began long before history was recorded. This is why Origins not only brought glory back to the franchise, but it really tells the story of everything of how and why it began.
This is when the Brotherhood was created, but it became corrupted by entering the public eye, going against what Bayek wanted, with Masyaf Castle. His letter to Amunet in Valhalla basically explains why she is remembered but he isn’t – he doesn’t want to be. It is Altaïr who gave the Brotherhood the rebirth and did what these two did again – expand and go back to the shadows.
I hope Bayek finds happiness in this story and I hope they end up back together. When you play as a character, they start to grow on you, you both go on a journey together and when that character loses something, you feel it too. And that’s why I feel sad for him, he just accepted it because he knew that’s what she wanted. We know what he wanted and she didn’t want that. At least Bayek has Senu. They need to make a part 2 of this and show us them getting back together.
This game brought the soul back to the franchise. Playing this so far, its filled with a lot of side quests to gain XP/ability points so it can be a bit repetitive but getting to know Bayeks character is intriguing. Hes the original and kinda cross breed between Ezio and Edward along with Altairs strong willed and a fighter. i like that this game has some romance between two people in the same team, same goal and creating a new empire that went on for centuries. I love the chemistry between them too. Its sad that they cannot be together its a shame. One thing that crossed my mind is that Aya is now called as Amunet which I remember back when Ezio collected seals for the statues of Assassin’s in Villa Auditore so it made a lot of sense and a astonishing discovery. It links so well with the past games.
If anybody is confused about the break up, here’s what happened. Both Aya and Bayek both understand that they must break their love in order for the greater good. Aya goes to Rome and starts a new brotherhood in Rome while Bayek stays in Egypt and develops the Egyptian brotherhood. If any of you guys contradict my ideas, please reply to this comment.
They brake up and I understand but they are buried in the same tomb. The character gets DNA and hidden blade from ayas body. They could get back together as aya went to Rome to create the creed there but ends up in a tomb.with bayek in Egypt. Love the game. I still have questions needs to be answered. Also origins is a great game overall it really gave the assassins a new look. Honestly, origins trumps all of the AC games in terms of map, activities, puzzles, etc.

You know I notice something. before the end the article Beyak decided to stay religious while Aya admitted “the gods are dead”. His tomb he imprinted his Medjay prayers ending in “come forth by day and I will guide you home”. Also the Assassin Brotherhood focuses on Agnosticism. Idk about anyone else but I’m personally comfortable with this considering I’m Christian myself.
To this day I still don’t understand Aya’s choice. They could have been together and still grew the Brotherhood, fighting for the cause and each other. There was so much potential for spin-offs from Origins, a sequel with Amunet in Rome, and a DLC of Bayek training Kawab to be a Hidden One. So much waisted potential that UbiSoft squandered.

had to look this article up to see what they were saying, the voice and music mix was so bad I couldn’t hear it first time. Even in this vid it was hard to hear what was being said. With the subtitles though I finally got all of it but it was what I was thinking was happening. And fucking kudos for putting in the Ezio theme, that almost had me in tears.
When i finished the whole game and after season pass ads on, i found Bayek’s house and went inside for the first time since I started playing this game, I swear I had that confused happy and sad feelings when I was inside his house, I know its just a game but it was an amazing journey an awesome game so when I closed it I had that smile on my face, it was a really long time since I enjoyed in game like this game, I really hope they continue this story or a better one (THANK YOU UBISOFT)
When I first played this game I didn’t recognize the Ezio’s Family theme running in the background but now, hearing it, brings back so many memories. Both Bayek and Ezio lost their family to the Templars; and both used it to forge themselves into perhaps the two greatest Assassins in history (my opinion)
damn this part made me hav the feels. i don’t wanna sound like a geek or anything but when Aya said “our love is impossible” it touched me because they knew that they had to finish their work for the free will of the people. especially with ezio’s theme song playing in the back. omg i’m so glad they brought back that theme song. it fits in so well with the start of the brotherhood.
Such a great Scene, from beginning to end with Ezios Family playing in the Background. I love that Theme since the first day and so happy it has become the Theme for the entire Franchise. And I love the Origin Version of it. I wonder where the next game takes place, Rome would be to similar to Brotherhood, Maybe Greece? Or Spain or something? No matter where or what i hope they take their time like they did with Origins.
This whole game I was wondering why they abandoned the ezio theme, I thought it was a real shame. But when I saw that they had waited until one of the very last cutscenes to use the Ezio theme I finally understood. This scene is as incredible as it is because of the buildup of the entire game, and then that Ezios theme finishes it off.
I have only played assassin‘s creed one and three. I got bored during Black flag but they just recently added origins to the game pass and my love for the series came back. I actually like Bayek. I was pretty attached to the character. They did a good job with the writing for him. Going to start odyssey after I beat this.
I know Ubisoft will realize how they fucked up eventually or they’ll try to tie it into the story and pretend it was their plan all along, but anyone mind giving a shot at answering this question…. How the FUCK is Aya/Amunet’s corpse in two different places? Ezio goes into her tomb, and takes the seal to Altiairs armor from right beside her body in Italy, and now she ends up at the bottom of a hole in Egypt in the same tomb as Bayek…. WTF Ubisoft, explain your shit. Next they’re gonna tell us, you think that mummy in Italy was Aya, but it wasn’t, your wrong for assuming.
I do relate to bayak feelings, I had a gf who she and I couldn’t be together for several reasons, the longer we stayed together the greater the unavoidable pain we would feel when we separate, I realized that, and she did too. one day she decided to end it, and damn I couldn’t be more proud of my girl yet extremely sad and angry that she isn’t mine anymore.
I just finished playing this game yesterday. I wasn’t really expecting this ending even though signs were there. Bayek tried more to patch things up I thought while Aya seemed more distant. Personally I don’t think there was enough compromise between the two with there relationship as husband and wife. But I felt sad afterwards, it’s like a win and a loss at the same time. To be honest I still feel sad about it. I was rooting for them the whole time to get back together even though they had lost their child but still had each other. Some things are hard though. Havin said all that, this was a great game. As far as AC games this goes in my top 3. Sad or not it’s a beautiful story imo. I would like to see more from these two personally. I could tell that their relationship was going to be rocky when Aya kept leaving Bayek to fulfill her duties to Cleopatra. I guess they had hoped to make things work but this felt so sudden to me I guess. They went from excitement to be in each other’s presence to openly accepting that they’ll become strangers to each other.
Bayek: Egypt has fallen. Greece also. And Rome will fall too. All will fall to the creed. Yet no one will know. Aya: When we assassinate, we assassinate only those who deserve it. Bayek: A new creed. Ours is finished. This literally made me cry and is definetely one of the BEST moments in AC and tbh the BEST AC at the moment.
I love this scene. It’s not some triumphant, badass, memberberry scene. It’s two broken people coming to terms with the shitty, ruthless world they live in and fighting back against it as desperately as possible. They were betrayed and completely defeated, everything they believed in turned out to be bullshit. I honestly didn’t expect this kind of writing in most games today but this is just great. Like, this is the bad ending, but there isn’t some alternative, good ending either. Also, I just love how the Brotherhood’s symbol was the outline the Eagle skull made in the sand. Okay, this might have plenty of memberberries, but they do actually work within the context of the earlier games and not just thrown in there. And the fact this all takes place during the fall of the Roman Republic, and how Aya had a direct hand in killing Caesar? Now that’s fan service, but even that was great and handled really well. For any one else out there, I’d highly recommend perusal HBO’s Rome series alongside playing this for the ultimate historical, yet cinematic experience. There’s a few discrepancies between the two, but the context you gain is beyond worth it.

wouldn’t say that she left him, but they sacrificed their romantic relationship for a greater cause or for a more professional relationship, what was obviously the right decision because otherwise you wouldn’t have an opposition against the later Templar’s. Of course they maybe had the option to settle down and make a couple of children which bayek maybe even wanted but Aya had a deeper and sensitive look into future generations. Guess it was because of her scholar like education in Alexandria. But I also think after Khemus death it was difficult for both to reinstate that relationship cause the memory caused to much pain when seeing each other. I’m convinced that they loved each other to their deaths but it would have been egotistical and short-sighted not break up. If they stood together = no assassins creed. And Aya understood that sooner than Bayek planning their next steps and founding a bureau. She really thought that trough.
You know, I never knew which side I was actually on. Both sides have a point. I played this game to finally settle this conflict I have. Its pretty clear who the bad guys are. Now that I know the origin story of this invisible war, I made my decision. I’m am an assassin Forever. I’m never playing Rogue again.
A part of me did wonder why Ezio’s theme was interwoven in all AC games since 2 even though Ezio isn’t there. But to be honest all the Assassins; Altair, the Kenways, The Fryes, Bayek, Aya; they are all Ezio’s Family. I didn’t think it right to put Kassandra, Alexios and the upcoming Valhalla twins because the former didn’t become Assassins, they become gods in Atlantis… And the latter, I guess we’ll see. 🙂
I think nothing in Assassin’s creed can be compared to the moment that Ezio finds Altair. But I really don’t understand why so many people find this scene so sad. I really don’t like Aya. Bayek wanted only to stay with her and avenge their son, but she has wanted to involve Bayek in the civil war between Ptolemy XIII and Cleopatra… And Bayek accepted because he realized more people were involved in Khemu’s murder and also because he saw that for Aya it was important…. but after Cleopatra’s betrayal, after so many sacrificed years of his life, the only thing that Aya can do is to refuse Bayek and break up with him??? He just fought with the hope to be together again, but it was almost clear that she hasn’t the same wish. When she said she had to go to Rome, she didn’t even try to say “come with me”. In my opinion is also senseless that although she has broken with him, Bayek and Aya were agree to fight for the same reason. They just toke 2 differents directions. But I think this is also a weak point of the plot. The game was really funny to play (despite the enemies behave unfortunately too often too stupidly), but the storyline is too forced. I found absurd that Flavio and Settimio, 2 Romans, and then even Caesar, became member of the order of the ancients. Rome didn’t need support from anyone. It was Caesar that decided to give Egypt in Cleopatra’s hands. I don’t see how suddenly he became the leader of the order while Flavio conspiderd too. I think it could be more credible if Cleopatra was already member of the order of the ancientes and then involved Caesar too.
Probably one of the most realistic desplays of a relationship in a game that i remember. Also a reminder we dont need to choose the gender of our protagonist, that hurts the legacy of the game, and we can have badass female characters whithout compromising the quality of the game. Origins showed that, shame the others that followed have not.
Bring Bayek to Greece, Bayek is a very good character and one of the best choice to continue the next Assassin Creed’s story with. We already saw Amunet’s statue (Aya) in AC 2, and I personally don’t like her as a main character for the next Assassin Creed’s game. We already got a bunch of stories with Ezio, so let’s not go back with Ezio.

Bayek is hands down the best AC protagonist since Ezio. He’s capable of being brutal and merciless towards an enemy, but also shows great compassion and understanding towards innocents. He didn’t come off as a bloodthirsty killer or a pushover nice guy, but as a real person with different dimensions of personality.
To me, I grew up with Ezio. Bayek beat my second favourite Edward. The only thing that let this game down was Aya and Layla. Bayek had that switch that I love with the Creed. He was compassionate but he has a side that had raw energy and a lust for revenge. Ezio to me told me that even if you have a very bitter enemy in your mind that you should also learn that you should try to be caring but Bayek told me that you should not fear being violent as well to teach your enemy a lesson.
While other says that Ezio is the best Assassins because his missions/actions are the things that made him famous and remembered while Bayek has no statue and other assassins no longer or dont even know that he is one of the founder of the brotherhood well, Bayek is the Real Legend, he is like a Myth a dangerous myth he is The Hidden One and his Actions are the very foundation of the Brotherhood. “I will kill you all” and that’s exactly how I approached the game. I killed every enemy I came across because I feel like Bayek is supposed to be angry throughout the game. The central theme in the game is revenge & Bayek’s anger plays a huge role in that. So it just seemed fitting to absolutely decimate everyone in my path.
What I like about this scene is that it kinda gives homage to what assasins were supposed to be originaly. Many assasin portray themselves as those memesters who kill baddies and have a good laugh while saving the world. The assasins are not that. Ezio, Altair, Edward, Connor, Bayek and the rest, they were not heroes. Good guys don’t kill people after all. In my mind the order of assasins was created to fight fire with fire so to speak. Templars and their predecessors are all powerful orders that can do almost anything they desire. The Heron said “We will find you in your sleep”. They cannot be stopped by mere men. But Assasins? The hidden ones? They are not men, they are demons, unseen ghost, Monsters who lurk under your bed, behind the curtain, observing everything you do. One day you live in your comfy mansion protected by you bodyguards only to realise that your guards are dead, their death silent, unseen, and you can’t protect yourself because how can you fight something that hides in the shadows and doesn’t sleep?
Bayak is brutal and ruthless to his enemies but his enemies deserve it. Most of assassins have a sad story but Bayak imagine your own sword killing your son and seeing the life drain from his eyes. That will change any man and a big part of Bayak died along with his son. He will not stop until all of Egypts enemies are dead including the ones who betrayed Egypt. Bayak remained humble and strong and much like ezio fought for a cause that was bigger than himself. Conor didn’t seem truly interested in the cause as much as he was on getting revenge on Charles Lee. Conor was basically in it for himself and his people. Bayak, Altaire and Bayak definitely fought for others they didn’t care about themselves they cared to save innocents and protect the world from evil. Bayak knew that evil would always be around but he wanted to make sure there was people who were more than capable of giving the fight back and he did a great job. I loved how Orgins really dove deep into the story of how the assassins came to be.
I love the detail of Rudjek’s hand shaking in fear, as Bayek pushes it down, forcing him to accept his fate. You can see that Rudjek is physically bigger than Bayek and doesn’t seem to fully take him seriously because of it. But, as soon as Bayek catches the knife in the mask Rudjek’s body language changes from conniving and sneaky, to “oh shit, I just pissed off the man who gives the devil nightmares”. This scene was written and performed perfectly. It’s a masterpiece within itself.
Bayek was the scariest and also most tragic AC protagonist ever. I don’t understand why Origins gets lumped in with Odyssey and Valhalla. This game was leagues ahead in quality. Bayek’s story was fantastic and was still a true assassins creed game. Bayek stands with edward and ezio as the greatest protagonists in all of assassins creed.
Seriously, right up there with Ezio for me, god DAMN his VA better have gotten paid a shitload for this performance, it’s easily one of the best in the series, this is the moment where we knew “Oh, this guy is fucking brutal” on a level we hadn’t really seen. Don’t get me wrong, Connor had that dog in him too, but he mellowed out towards the end of his story, whereas Bayek just seemed to be unbridled rage
Not enough people Appreciate the work done by Abubakar Salim (Bayek) as much as they do Roger Craig Smith (Ezio). No protagonist in Assassin’s Creed has had such a strong VA and Mo-Cap Performance right from the get go as Bayek does, It has to be said but not even Ezio had anyone on the edge of their seat in the Beginning of 2, he became the real golden boy in Brotherhood and that’s also the reason why Old Man Ezio in Revelations and Embers has the best Voice Performance compared to Ezio in 2 and Brotherhood.
I like that, as good as a man bayek is, if you push him like the order did, you will wake an unstoppable monster. Guy did not deserve that tragedy that happened to him, all he was doing was teaching his son how to hunt, they were gonna stand together in that ceremony. He’s the most unique protagonist we’ve had in a while, one that was compelling and not a carbon copy of ezio or edward. Also, the stealth gameplay honestly hasn’t changed much here, except you couldn’t blend in with crowds, which sucks, and a heavier emphasis on combat(which was given a lot of love) and using tall grass. Origins still felt like AC, but showed signs of where Ubisoft was taking the series, to the chagrin of so many fans. Luckily, they seem to be taking the right steps with mirage.
Loved Bayek, loved ezio, loved altair, loved connor, loved eivor, loved desmond, arno was fine, loved evie, didn’t enjoy jacob that much, loved Adewale, loved shay, but edward will always remain the best of best Edit: didnt forget Kassandra/Alexios just that they weren’t good enough to even mention that game felt like I played something of latest graphics but worst game play, va, and body language…mirage will definitely pick things up where origin left off..
Yall are over looking conner to he was a great protagonists he lost his whole Village watched his mother burn had to fend his whole life till he found out who killed his whole family even had to kill his own father in the end plus the man who trained him was a pirate assasin as well freinds with the man who turned against the guild in the process so he taught conner to trust the creed but also trust his instincts above all else so yeah throwing conners hat in the race to
The accent of the voice actor is totally wrong the accent Bayek speaks with is of a West African man trying to speak English, off very far from a true Berber / Amazigh accent because he is from Siwa. That’s the only thing that annoys me. For the rest good acting apart from the wrong accent. It’s like hiring a French man speaking English with a French accent playing an Italian man/acting Italian.
