📹 Why most MARRIAGES FAIL: you are not enough people
The divorce rate in the Western world is terrifying. How have we arrived at the point where a marriage is more likely to end in …
The reason is the introduction of herorin in the late 60s/early 70s and crack into black communities beginning in the early – mid 80s, which led to much higher rates of murder and incarceration. The decline of black marriage mirrors the higher rates of murder and incarceration that occurred during that period. It’s hard to get and stay married in a war zone.
I think the central issue for the increase in divorce, since the 50s, and now the rapid increase in the death of the institution of marriage has to do with a sickness within the American culture as a whole. We are the wealthiest large country in the world. Lifestyle has been elevated as the highest good, while religion and duty are disparaged. It used to be God, family and country. Now it’s me, me and me.
It’s great to hear this advice. I advocate for doing the extra work, research and self-examination as much as you possibly can, to make the best decision for a spouse. If you believe you in the Bible, you know Marriage is till death do you part. So, make this commitment with wisdom, knowledge, Love and joy.
When you factor in most bm don’t have children and the majority of bw do it’s just not appealing to most who don’t have them….the fact that by the time most bw want to the mileage (hot girl summers) soulties are through the roof….. attitudes, entitlement thrown in…..why would any of us even think about doing that and I didn’t even throw in the family court system
I’m married because I found the right man for me. Everyone doesn’t want or need to be married. I don’t even know why people are so invested in the love life of Strangers! You people are weird! You have too much time on your hands if you’re this worried about someone else’s life choices that don’t effect you.
You are so ‘fucken’ RIGHT!!!! I am a 2 time divorced 50 year old man with two young boys to raise on my own. Looking back to where it all went wrong twice, I tell you, your message is so 100% true on a religious point of view, on a political, social and family foundation. Like you, I always believed that marriage was having children and raise them. Yes! Marriage is raising a family i.e. children. That is why we have honeymoons to really do all the romantic stuff out of the way and then get ready to have children. But somehow, some woman and men watch too many romantic movies and thinking that it is how a marriage should be. I hope I can find a woman who understands what a marriage is and proud of her work of raising a family.
Exactly. I’m 40 years old and live in the center of beautiful Heidelberg Germany. I inhabit a flat with 2 students, to save money. I can walk to work (ICU nurse), but I have an old used bike for less then 200 bucks. I don’t need to travel. Heidelberg is paradise. No car, no kids. I only work part time so I have enough money for my hobbies: Bouldering, Running, Gaming on Sony PlayStation and Nintendo Switch (if our house burns down, I can’t lose those games, I own them in the cloud). Life is beautiful nowadays, why would I waste it at work. I only buy cloths when I really need them, mostly cheap. You can eat healthy for 5 bucks a day (coffee included). It’s easy: stick to things that have only 1 ingredient, but no isolates like sugars and oils (you can throw them together obviously for a meal) I consider whole grain pasta to be healthy, but you should have them split up in to maximum 2 meals a day. Other than that I eat oats, nuts and vegetables. Only drink water, coffee, and tea without additives. If you’re vegan have your vit.B12 and a good source of omega-3 fatty acids (chia seeds, walnuts), maybe vit.D if you’re a nightshift worker or not out in the sun much, and you’re good. Once in a while if you have an easier day try to eat nothing for that day. I’m 40 years old, athletic, everyone thinks I’m much younger. Take good care of your bodies folks 💟🌌☮️
Agree with this completely. Though some (like me) are lucky enough to have found a wife that I have a good ‘working’ relationship with (w/ respect to earning a living and raising our 2, now grown, children) and ended up as being my best friend. Although we do have certain freedoms from each other (ie: she has friends that she goes out with that do not include me and I go on golf trips that do not include her) and when these take place, we end up going home and telling each other stories about such trips. But I know numerous other couples who are not so lucky – I just never saw WHY until this article clarified it so well.
I came here to hear about marriage, and got a lecture about “job” and what it was not designed to be. I am guilty of all these things. Turns out, I am doing way better in my marriage than my jobs. I don’t like my spouse but I am stuck with her because: children. She understands that, I understand that, we are fine with that!
A very interesting point of fact – a year or so after the divorce, my ex-wife and I started to get along a lot better than we ever had. I could simply respect and appreciate her and the job she does as a mother and we didn’t have all of the ridiculous expectations of each other any longer, so we ended up being very good friends. And to be clear, that would be very good friends without any fringe benefits.
I agree with much of what you said. As for the church, historically the clergy does not marry because the church wants to be the sole inheritor of the estate. But the only way to conduct any marriage successfully is essentially by adhering to traditional values of love and respect – meaning a wife must submit to her husband and a husband must cherish his wife. I wish you had addressed this.
