Now this is a traditional wedding! This is the only one I’ve seen so far that I really would have loved to attend! I feel this really showed the heart of their culture. The dress, the traditions, even the after party. I actually enjoyed perusal this. I felt that I learned more about the gypsy culture than the other articles I’ve seen.
Now this makes sense because gypsy culture is conservative and in line with their cultural values, so why is it when they went to the UK and the USA began dressing like Vegas Strippers?! So very odd. Crazy, my husband’s culture has a “stealing the bride” type tradition too. It doesn’t make much sense in America, but in Laos it makes a bit more sense. Usually you are several miles in between villages. So the male would come to the females village and “steal” her. There is a better way of explaining it than I am doing….

Actually here in Hungary we have a similar tradition during the wedding it is called “the bride is for sale”,during wich the friends and family members pay an amount (it really does matter how much) and those who pay can dance with the bride,and the last one who pays is always the groom itself and takes the bride for himself.This is basicly so the couple gets some monetary support and it is quite popular that the quests dont buy presents but give a bigger amounte during the dance.

Arranged marriage (you might call it forced marriage in many cases) also exists in India. We know that Indians are Hindu. So should we attack their religion or their tradition in this case?
